Proposal fit for a princess
Shining Armor looked at the setting sun near the castle. She will be here soon. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna did wish him good luck.
The sound of hoof steps came near.
“Sorry I’m late.”
“It’s alright.”
Shining Armor and Princess Cadence walked close together. She couldn’t help but notice something was making him nervous even though he was captain of the guards.
“Shining Armor?”
“I’m fine. Nothing to worry about.”
She giggled.
They stopped at the balcony of the castle.
Cadence enjoyed the view.
“It’s so beautiful.”
“But not as beautiful as you.”
“What?”
“Nothing!”
Shining Armor darted away for a bit. Cadence was confused.
“Shining Armor you’ve been acting weird tonight. I want to know what’s going on.”
Shining Armor took a deep breath. He looked deep into her eyes.
“Put this on.”
“A blindfold?”
“Trust me.”
“Ok.”
She put it over her eyes. Shining Armor lead her by the hoof.
“Shining Armor where are we going?”
“Don’t worry we’re almost there.”
They walked to the garden. And stopped.
“Ok now on three you’ll take off the blindfold and look at me.”
“Ok.”
“One two three.”
Cadence couldn’t believe it. The garden was beautiful. It was covered with fireflies that danced under the moonlight. Shining Armor knelt down on one front leg.
“Shining Armor? What are you doing?”
“I’ve been in love with you since we first met when you first came to watch Twilight. Even though you’re a princess I’ve always known that you’re very kind. And that’s what I love you about you. I know that Twilight will make the perfect sister in law for you. I know I’m not a prince but I’ll love you every day until the day I die. And in the afterlife as well. We’ve been together for five years. I feel that now this will be the time to say to you what I’ve been hoping to ask you .”
Tears fell from her eyes. Shining Armor took out a ring box with the most beautiful diamond ring Cadence had ever seen.
“Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. Will you marry me?”
“Yes! Yes I’ll marry you Shining Armor.”
He slid the ring on her horn. They twirled in each other’s embrace.
They didn’t notice a pair of green glowing eyes watching them from a distance.
And the rest is history.
Some years later at the Crystal Empire Cadence wasn’t feeling well. So she went to the doctor.
“Congratulations Your Highness. You’re having a baby.”
Cadence cried tears of joy.
“Shining Armor.”
“Cadence. What’s wrong?”
“We’re having a baby.”
“I… I’m a father?”
They embraced crying joyful tears.
“I love you Cadence. I’ll do my best to keep you and the baby safe.”
Months passed. Shining Armor did the best he could. Cadence grew bigger and bigger.
One night Cadence had a nightmare. She woke up frightened.
“Shining Armor?”
“*yawns* Cadence? What’s wrong?”
“I had a nightmare that someone will come after the baby.”
“Don’t worry. It was just a *speaking while yawning* dream. The baby will be alright. I promise. *yawning*”
Cadence stayed in husband’s embrace the rest of the night.
The next morning Cadence got up.
She felt a sharp pain.
“AHHHH!”
“Cadence? What is it?”
“The baby. I think it’s coming.”
“Take deep breaths. I’m here.”
“Don’t leave me.”
“I’m not going anywhere.”
He stayed with her even after the doctor arrived.
Cadence was holding his hoof.
“Ok Your Highness. Ready?”
“You can do it Cadence.”
“I trust you.”
“Ok Cadence. Hold my hoof and push.”
She clutched her husband’s hoof as she pushed with all the strength she had.
“That’s it Cadence. Keep pushing.”
She stopped to breathe.
“Ok Cadence get ready to push again.”
“I can’t Shining Armor I can’t.”
“Yes you can. I married a princess who faced many difficult things in her life. And I know that if you protect this empire from a monster you can bring our baby to this world.”
“Ok.”
“I’m here. Now push. Push.”
She pushed the hardest push she had ever done.
“I see the head. The baby is almost here Your Majesty.”
“Cadence our baby is almost here.”
“Yes Shining Armor.”
“So I think at least one more push should do it.”
“Alright. Come on Cadence. One two three push!”
“AHHHHHHHH!”
The cries of a newborn baby echoed through the halls.
“Congratulations Your Majesties. It’s a girl.”
“A girl. Cadence a beautiful baby girl. Thank you so much.”
The baby unfolded her wings.
“Shining Armor. The baby is…”
“An Alicorn.”
They were surprised. But then the baby held her father’s hoof.
Shining Armor began to cry.
“You’re still beautiful my little princess.”
At the crystaling they named her Flurry Heart.
Flurry Heart was much loved by her parents. She learned her first steps.
She followed her father around like a shadow.
Once he was gone. Flurry looked for him everywhere.
She began to cry.
“D… da… Dada!”
“Flurry?”
“Dada.”
“She said her first word.”
As Flurry grew she started school. The foals like to to tease her for being different.
Everyday she would come home sad.
“Mommy Daddy why am I so different?”
“Flurry you’re just special that’s all.”
“But everyone at school…”
“Never mind what they said.”
“But…”
“Flurry close your eyes.”
Shining Armor held his daughter close to his heart.
“You are our special little princess.”
“Your father and I wouldn’t have you any other way.”
That night Shining Armor tucked her into bed. He didn’t want to leave her.
“*yawns* I’ll just stay here *speaking while yawning* for the rest of the night. I just want my daughter to feel safe. *yawns*”
Shining Armor kissed his daughter and fell asleep by the floor.
Flurry woke up to see her father on the floor the next morning.
“Daddy?”
“*yawns* Good morning Flurry.”
“There you are Shining Armor.”
“I didn’t want Flurry to be alone.”
“What a father you are.”
Flurry grew up to be the new ruler of the Crystal Empire. Her mother and father were very proud of her.
