𒄈 There were hundreds like her.

Ordinary as much as any pony can be.

Decent and normal. The salt of the earth.

True, there were some strange coincidences in her life, but the realm was brimming with odd happenstances. You aren't supposed to pay too much attention to them. It was like a fun piece of trivia about herself to add up some spice.

With so many ponies around, something like that was bound to happen anyway.

She was slightly overweight. She had a doting, loving family—no siblings, though. She had a couple of friends and a lot of acquaintances. She loved her cozy home and felt very proud about being a librarian. It was like she could help the community in her own little way while staying true to her special talent.

The recent events pushed her over the edge of turmoil, but luckily no one really close to her was hurt. She believed that, however wild it seemed, everything would return to stability pretty soon. An idea of letting go of comfortable and calm life was beyond her.

So imagine her surprise when, in the middle of the day, someone knocked on the front door of her home, and when she worriedly trotted to open it up, a pony out of legend and mystique appeared before her.

She expected Starswirl the Bearded to be different… well, no, to be honest, she did not expect anything at all for when she'd meet the wizard in person. A very minor, but very vocal part of her psyche couldn't even fathom that he was real.

His kind, icy blue eyes were very welcoming.

"Twilight, my little pony," he said with a smile tired and wise, "would you like to learn more about magic?"
