On an average day in the middle of Spring, the empty walls of the Lunar Chamber filled with the sounds of idle chatter for the first time in millennia. The voices belonged to a motley group of six women, all standing within the confines of the room. The tone of their conversations didn’t reflect the ominous darkness of their surroundings.

“Honestly, Rainbow Dash. Couldn’t you have taken this all a bit more seriously?” Rarity aimed a disappointed look at her friend, carefully eyeing her appearance. “You’re going to meet possibly the second most important woman alive and you wear that?”

“Get off my back already. I wore my good hoodie!” Rainbow pointed at her chest to highlight the point. The baby blue cloth patterned with a sports logo didn’t seem to impress the fashionista. Rainbow rolled her eyes, then jabbed her finger at Rarity. “I think you overdressed. I’m pretty sure if you stood still, I could mistake you for one of those wax statues.”

“You couldn’t have expected me to come here without my makeup,” she scoffed. Even the most well-dressed Gala-goers wouldn’t be able to resist glancing at Rarity’s extravagant attire. Her dress, pearl necklace, and large earrings were a far cry from Rainbow’s hoodie and jeans.

“Now, now, girls.” A voice of reason came from Applejack, as it often did. Though Rarity would have been quick to comment on her lack of extravagance as well, she decided to keep it to herself. “I’m sure that Luna won’t be fussy over what we’re wearing. Especially if she’s s’posed to be rewarding us.”

“Whaddya think the reward’s gonna be?” A conversation close by, but separate, had started between the room's other three occupants. Pinkie Pie tapped her chin and rolled her eyes in thought. “Since she’s like a super ancient god…” Pinkie gasped. “What if she gives us superpowers!”

“I don’t think she can do that.” The murmuring came from her conversation partner. Fluttershy may have been the tallest of the six, but her voice and demeanor made her seem small. “Not that I wouldn’t want that. I think having a superpower would be amazing.” Pinkie laughed, as she often did.

“Well, maybe she just wants to throw us a party!” Pinkie exclaimed, throwing her hands into the air. “Maybe that’s why the guards told us to wait in this super spooky, super dark room. So she can jump out and surprise us!”

“Doubtful. This doesn’t seem to be like any of the castle’s several traditional Ballrooms.” The last speaker was the only one giving their surroundings much thought. Having adjusted to the darkness, she properly scanned the room. “This seems more like… royal bed chambers to me.”

She made her deduction based on the layout of the room. Though a chandelier hanging from the ceiling provided a semblance of light, much of the room was cloaked in shadow. The group’s back was to a large, ornate door engraved with the symbol of the moon. In front of them was a throne like the ones in the great hall where Celestia would often hold her court. Behind it was a bed large enough to support a manticore, draped in dark linens and sheets.

“Celestia has only allowed me into her room once before, but it was very much like this,” explained Twilight. She turned to the group, now all focused on her words. “If Luna is as private with her space as Celestia is, her reward may be something very personal.”

“You think we oughta be cautious about it?” chimed Applejack. “After all, she was possessed by that weirdo dark magic thingy not even a moon ago.”

“Now that you mention it,” hummed Rainbow. “We just gathered as a group on her request…”

“No, no, there’s nothing to be worried about,” said Twilight with a shake of her head. “Celestia assured me that our magic has completely eradicated The Nightmare from her body.” The crowd looked amongst themselves.

“Well, I trust Celestia,” said Fluttershy. “B-But I can’t help being a little nervous…”

Before Twilight could soothe her friend's worries, a large creaking sound rang out behind them. The group whipped around to find a sliver of light from the outside beaming down the middle of the room. Covering their eyes, they could only make out a silhouette. As they adjusted, it became more pronounced.

“I see you have all gathered here, as I have requested.” The sound of her voice was almost enough to blow them away on its own. It commanded attention. Respect. She took a step inward, and the door closed behind her.

The gargantuan frame of a giantess stood before them. A head or two higher than the group’s tallest, she had to look down at the women in front of her. Her arms and legs were wider than cannon barrels, and her abdomen looked rock hard and pronounced. Her muscles would be visible through her clothes… if she was wearing much. A bra covered her chest, and a loincloth concealed her bottom. Wrapped around her wrists and ankles were gauntlets with a moon pattern.

She stepped forward again, putting the entire group on edge. Her eyes were fierce, strong enough to make any mare collapse under its weight. With another step, her horn started to glow, and she spoke once more.

“It seems that no one has turned the lights on. Allow me.” She turned her head to the walls, small flicking sounds popping up along them. Candles burst aflame, bathing the room in a healthier light. Once she finished, she looked at the group again. “Thank you for joining me.”

“Y-You’re most welcome, P-Princess!” Rarity was the first to speak, bowing her head as she did so. “We wouldn’t dare ignore your summons!” The room was stuffy with silence. The others were looking between Rarity and Luna, waiting for either side to make a move.

“Um…” Luna spoke first, making Rarity jump in surprise. “Perhaps I am being misunderstood?” To the surprise of the six, Luna presented them with a small smile. “There is no need to be formal or fearful. Today is a day of celebration. Besides, I would never let harm come to my saviors!” Rarity raised her head, her confused look mirrored by the other five.

“S-So you’re not here to kill us?” murmured Fluttershy. Luna’s eyes widened before she let out a hearty laugh.

“No, no of course not! I wouldn’t even dream of it.” She reached out for the two closest to her, Rarity and Rainbow Dash, placing a large hand on their shoulders. She patted them a few times for good measure. “I assure you, I am nothing to be feared.”

Though tension still hung heavy in the air, Luna proceeded. With a quick snapping sound and a flash of light, she disappeared from beside them. Twilight turned first, spotting Luna taking her seat on the lavish throne. Even as she sat, her royal aura made it impossible to be as casual as she wanted it to be.

“Now that we have gotten our introductions out of the way, let’s proceed with the reward.” Reclining in her chair, she beckoned the group closer with a gesture. After a few looks amongst themselves, they shuffled forward. Once they are within an appropriate distance, Luna continued. “I hope you will all forgive me for the lateness of my reward. Since this will be quite the ordeal, the proper preparations had to be made.”

“Preparations?” asked Twilight. Luna nodded.

“I do not believe I’ve ever presented a gift to six people at once before. Hopefully, this will be enough to please you all.” The group waited with bated breath. They’d waited long enough. The previous emotions of fear and caution had waned, making way for the excitement of their prize. “Without further ado, I present the greatest gift a person with my power and stature can present!” Luna reached for her leg. The six watched carefully as she pinched the front of her loincloth. As she pulled it back, the breath of every person in the room vanished from their chests.

“Holy sh—”

“Celestia’s mercy…” Pinkie and Applejack’s words were the only things to break the silence. Behind her unassuming loincloth was a cock unlike any of the others had seen. As thick as an arm, and just as long, it rested on top of Luna’s thighs. If they listened carefully, they might have been able to hear it throb.

“This is my reward,” said Luna, her smile growing larger. “I present you with the opportunity to become my Royal Foalbearers.”

“R-Royal Foalbearers, your majesty?” She blinked. "What is that?" Rarity’s questions seemed to put a frown on Luna’s face.

“Surely you jest?” she asked. “Are you somehow unfamiliar with the highest non-royal position within the kingdom?”

“P-Princess Luna!” Twilight’s high-pitched voice brought everyone’s attention to her. She had averted her eyes and even covered them with her hands. Her face was as red as a sunset. “T-T-There’s been a h-huge misunderstanding! There are no more Foalbearers!”

“I don’t understand what the hell is going on!” Rainbow yelled. Just like Twilight, her face was flushed and her wings were as stiff as a board. Twilight took a few deep breaths.

“A Foalbearer was the official title of the mares who the nobility decided to… b-breed with,” explained Twilight. “When Equestria was still small and growing, they were necessary to ensure that the strongest genes would be p-passed on.” She slowly removed her hands from her face. “B-But now that we’ve grown, the custom has died out...”

After her words left her mouth, a thick silence fell over the room. Most of the group still had their eyes planted on Luna, waiting for her reaction. What they found was a rare and surprising sight.

“I see…” Luna’s face beamed with embarrassment just like the others. “I will... make sure that this error is corrected as soon as possible, and a proper reward is given to you all.” She sighed and lit her horn. The door behind them swung open. “You are dismissed.”

The six exchanged gazes, but Luna’s expression made it clear that they should heed her words. At once, they all shuffled out into the hallway, the door closing behind them with a thud. After a few more seconds of silence, everyone breathed a huge sigh of fresh air.

“Wowie zowie!” Pinkie spoke through heavy breaths. “Her dong was massive!”

“Pinkie Pie!” Rarity protested. “That is not… proper etiquette.” She cleared her throat, then pulled at the neck of her dress. “The magnificence of Princess Luna’s… member is appreciated, but we must show a bit of professionalism.”

“S-She’s not wrong, though,” murmured Fluttershy. “Whenever I think about it… hmm. My wings still won’t go down…”

“How am I supposed to fly like this?” Rainbow asked. She reached back to massage her wingtips. After fussing with it for a bit, she gave up in frustration. “Guess I’ll have to rub one out…”

“How do ya even get somethin' that big inside ya?” asked Applejack, mostly to herself. She brought her hat down over her face. “That’d be one hell of a rodeo.”

Twilight was the only person who managed to keep to herself. As the rest of the group shakily made their way to the exit of the castle, something kept Twilight from moving on. She couldn’t help but stare at the door to Luna's chambers. Though the events behind it had sent her mind into a spiral, a single, clear thought rose above all else.

She hadn't actually denied Luna’s reward.

She shook her head and took a few deep breaths. Waving her hand to cool herself off, she quickly made her way down the castle’s hallway to catch up with her friends.
