Somewhere In Equestria
The night was calm as the moon shined bright down on the land below, the woods alive with the sounds of nocturnal creatures making their presence known. Soon though the sounds of nature were dimmed as the sound of a low metallic growl started to fill the air. Soon a pair of headlights burst through the trees as a black muscle car barreled down the highway that runs through the woods. Inside the car, a slow rock melody played over the radio, the lights from the dashboard faintly illumining the driver behind the wheel. Inside the car sits a blue earth pony sporting a worn down military jacket, the words “Army” on the right chest and “Silverstreak” on the left chest, and insignia of a pony skull with a scorpions tail coming out of the eye socket on the shoulders. The faint sound of metal clanging coming from the military dog tags hanging from around the driver's neck as he droved through the night, his mind in a wander as he drives through the night.
Soon the song on the radio ended and a song familiar to the driver came on. He gave a small grin as he turned off the highway onto an interstate, seemingly knowing which way his destination is. As he got up to speed and the sound of the engine and the whine of its supercharger became background noise, the driver thought back through his memories, figuring out his life up to that point. Thinking back he remembered his first family and how everything went wrong, his second family who helped raised him and his siblings, his choice to serve his country and the flawed ‘fight for good’, his return home and how his family treated him, and how everything went wrong afterward. As the song reached its end he remembered the day everything went wrong for him, and how he was betrayed by those he called a family…
“Speedy what are you doing?! Put your gun down!”
“Celestia I’m telling you! She’s planning on getting rid of you and taking over!”
“He’s lying! Why would I try to do that? I’m loyal to the Elementals and to you Celestia!”
He remembered standing in the lobby, his gun aimed at the mare across from him while his sister and the one he saw as a mother standing off to the side trying to talk him down. The mare was putting on an act, trying to get others to believe her over him. He knew it was bullshit, he saw her plans himself and even heard her talk about how she was planning it for years, he wasn’t gonna let that happen.
“Celestia, my siblings and I have been loyal to you ever since you took us in, I’m one of your best Elementals, why would I go this far if it wasn’t for a good reason?”
“Oh really? One of the best yet leaves us in the middle of gang wars to join the ‘Military Murder Brigade’ and help destroy a country that needed help!”
“...Y-you know I didn’t have any sa-”
“You are just like every fucking grunt that served: a monster. A monster trained by the government to murder anyone without a second thought for the name of Equestria!”
That word, that fucking word. Ever since he got back that was all he heard, Monster, Murderer, Death Bringer, it made him fucking sick. But looking at the mare who raised him all he could see was sadness and grief in her eyes, but he also saw something he never thought he’d see from her: agreement. His hand trembled as he held his gun, the barrel slowly moving down towards the floor as the mare slightly smirked as she knew she hit him where it hurt.
“Celestia, you don’t believe her, do you? Do you?!”
The gun now was aimed toward the floor, his hand shaking with a mix of anger and sadness.
“Speedy…. Give me the gun. We can deal with this….with you….with care and help. Surprise and I know you're unwell, your sister knows you are unwell, give me your gun, and let’s sort this out.”
And there it was, his leader, his mother figure, the one pony he was loyal to the most….. agreeing with the enemy. He let out a shaky sigh as he lowered his gun down toward his feet. His target gave him an evil smile knowing she was won, a smile that filled him with anger. Firming his grip, he quickly pulled his gun back up and aimed at the now-shocked mare.
“I’m sorry Celestia, But this needs to be done!”
“SPEEDY NO!”
BANG!
Returning to reality he saw on a roadsign that his destination was near as he saw the sun slowly starts to rise above the horizon. Looking over he looks down at the gun he used resting on the passenger seat, a high caliber revolver modified more for the operator's use, the same gun he used to shoot at the mare, the same gun whom he failed to kill her with. He remembered how his own sister grabbed his arm as he fired, causing him to hit his target in the shoulder instead of the head. The feelings of betrayal and fear as he ran for his life out of the building and the paranoia as he escaped the city, disappearing into Equestria for years. Looking over he also sees the crinkled-up letter that made him want to go to this new place.
Hey Captain,
Hope you have been doing well ever since we got back overseas. If you ever want to come to visit or need a place to stay why don’t you come to the city I live in? You can meet my family and I can give you a tour of the city if you want. Also since you mentioned you did some….things with others before joining up with the Army my wife and I can hook you up with some we know around here to give you some cash or work. Hope you come visit sometime, my door is always open to you Cap.
Your Friend/ S.E.C

Giving a small smile he focused back onto the road as he saw what his destination was, a large city between three different environments that looks to be a similar size to Manehatten, maybe even possibly his old home. A sign next to the road says in big bright letters telling him he has made it to the city he hopes to start over in:
