Champions Of Canterlotby TheShadowKnightChaptersChapter 1 - The Return of a Former ChampChapter 2 - The ReunionChapter 3: Reminiscing Romance ReignitedChapter 1 - The Return of a Former ChampBoxing, a fine sport people love to watch. A sport involving two individuals fighting to climb to the top of the boxing world, duking it out with their fists in order to become… the strongest. The champions of the world. Many brave boxers have fought hard and achieved their goals, others have not. Some have even died before they could reach their goal. Though the life and career of a boxer is short, they make the most out of the sport that makes them feel alive. Some boxers who held onto their titles retired as champions, others lost their titles and retired without them. Regardless of how or why, at least they now have stories to tell their friends and family and have more time to enjoy life outside the ring. However… that's not the case for a certain ex-champion who lost everything in one match because of one big mistake. And that ex-champion is none other… than Inferno Blaze, former Light Heavyweight Champion of the world. He was a boxing prodigy, some would say. He was the first youngest rookie boxer to go for a 28-0 record and win the Light-Heavyweight championship, at an age of 19. He was a determined and spirited fighter, with a drive that no boxer had ever seen. He came into the boxing league, with a goal to prove to all that a new and little guy like him could take on the seasoned and meanest veteran fighters the world could throw at him. And wouldn't ya know, he did just that. And through his efforts, he earned the title belt by K.O. in his 25th match. He had the fame and glory and the support of all his friends after becoming the world champ. However… on his 3rd title defense, he slowly began to change. The fame, the glory, the money, it was all slowly getting to his head. He became arrogant and skipped his own training, and blew his money on, well, you could try and name three things he blew his money on. Fancy clothes, a sports car and even an expensive watch. And because of this, he was utterly humiliated in his 4th title defense. He got torn to pieces and lost within 45 seconds of the 1st round by K.O. The saying goes; The higher you climb to the top, the harder the impact would be when you fall. Losing the title was a severe blow to Inferno. He had it all and just like that… it was gone. After his loss, he fell into a deep depression and stopped coming to the gym, even got out of shape and gained 5 extra pounds. To this day, he remains down in the dumps, even stopping answering calls from his friends and family… including his girlfriend. And one day he left his hometown of Canterlot in shame, almost like his personal exile. For about 2 years, no one has seen Inferno. Eventually, he was never spoken about in town. And no one would expect him to return anytime soon. Until fate decided to lead him home. 2 years later, on the outskirts of the City of Canterlot. Walking along the main highway, a lone, ragged stranger strolled along the walkway of the long road, as cars drove by him. He didn’t bother to hitch a ride, he didn’t even stop to wave for a car to halt. The cars just kept on passing by the poor guy, not even bothering to stop and check on his condition, probably just trying to ignore him entirely. The wanderer wore a brown worn-out jacket, a faded brown cap, black scarf around his neck, brown pants and black shoes with matching black gloves. The wandering stranger kept walking down the highway, minding his own business, until all of a sudden, his legs quivered and buckled from not getting enough rest. As he collapses, his head leans towards the road, which causes one of the cars to put the brakes on quickly. And just in time before his head was cracked open by the tires. He can hear the door opening up, but he doesn't do anything. "Hey! What the fuck is wrong with you, ya bum?! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!" a man's voice yelled out. The wanderer tirelessly turned his head to look up at the car driver, his cap fell off his head, which allowed the driver to see the stranger’s face. "Wha… are my eyes deceiving me? It… It can't be!" the man said in shock. Before he knew it, the stranger is then picked up by the man and surprisingly escorted into the car and the man climbs back into the car and drives off to Canterlot. Meanwhile, back in the town, a beautiful young woman, 21 years of age, was sitting on a bench at the park. She was playing her guitar, humming a soft melody. She had red and yellow, bacon-colored hair, smooth, light yellow skin, turquoise eyes, wore a purple tank top with a shimmering sun sticker on the front and blue jeans. She also wore black high-heel boots. Her name… is Sunset Shimmer. If people ask what an angel looks like, well the answer they would receive would be Sunset herself. For she is an angel in real life and possibly in everyone’s fantasy. On top of that, she also happens to be… taken. Yes, Sunset Shimmer has a lover. Though it was a subject she doesn’t talk about much. Whenever a boy could approach her, she would respond with “I have a boyfriend”, and when other girls would ask who her boyfriend was, she would drop the conversation on the spot. This one of a kind dame never really told anyone who her boyfriend was. The only ones who knew about her lover… was her boyfriend himself… and her old high school friends. But in the last two years, they've all gone their separate ways, following their dreams, yet they still manage to keep in touch. The poor girl hasn't seen her boyfriend in 2 years. Despite the long time gap, she never once lost sight of his true self, staying devoted to him. Bless her heart. In a way, her playing the guitar and humming tunes was her way of coping with the fact that he hasn't come home yet. “Sunset?” A familiar voice called to her, one she hadn’t heard from in a year. Sunset turned to her left, and standing before her was one of her old highschool friends, Twilight Sparkle; or Sci-Twi, as they all nicknamed her. A soft smile drew on the bacon-haired girl’s face upon seeing one of her best friends again. “Hey, Twilight,” She said, softly. “Been a while, hasn’t it?” "Yeah, sure has. So, what brings you out here all by yourself?" Twilight asked, as she sat down on the bench beside her best friend. “Oh, nothing. Just… Just hoping to clear my head. Had a very busy day today and… stuff.” Sunset responded. "I see. Are… you sure it's not because of… him?" Twilight asked. Sunset didn’t reply to that question, she just sat and kept her eyes down to the ground, not saying a single word. But Twilight already got her answer from her silence. "I'm sorry, Sunset. I didn't mean any harm by that. I know how much you love him and… I know he's in a bad spot right now. So… just know that if you ever wanna talk some more, you know how to get a hold of me. And… don't worry. He'll be back." Twilight said, patting her old friend on the shoulder. "Thanks, Twi. I needed to hear that." Sunset said. Soon a single tear ran down her cheek as her eyes watered a bit. “I just… miss him.” She spoke with sadness in her voice. Twilight looked at her friend with a sympathetic expression as she pulled Sunset into her arms and held her in a comforting embrace. “I know. We all do.” Twilight spoke softly to her. “I… I’m sure one day, he’ll come back. I'm sure he will.” She said to Sunset as a means to assure her. As Twilight hugged Sunset, the two girls were not aware of a certain car that had passed by the park, carrying a mysterious passenger. "I gotta go now, I've got to get home to do some homework on my advanced calculus. See you next time." Twilight said before leaving. “Yeah, sure.” Sunset replied, before Twilight could leave, Sunset stopped her. “W-Wait. Wanna meet up at the cafe tomorrow? For old time’s sake?” she asked. "Sure. I can make time tomorrow. I'll see you then," Twilight agreed. “See you too!” Sunset responded, more happy than before. She could really use the company with friends. 2 years of loneliness were unbearable to endure. So the two friends waved each other goodbye as Twilight walked out of the park, leaving Sunset to her afternoon activity. Meanwhile, back with the strange man with the hobo in his car, he drove through the streets and eventually made it towards a large mansion with a big gate blocking the way. The driver then parks next to a small stone column with the gate’s keypad installed on, the man enters the code and soon the gates open up. Once they were open, the driver drove up to the front of the mansion and parked in front of the steps that lead to the front door. Once he turns off his car engines, the man gets out of his car and then opens the door to the passenger seat and helps the hobo out of his vehicle and up the steps to the front door. The man takes out his keys and unlocks the door before stepping inside. "I'm home! Honey, are you here?" the man called out. “Wait a moment, darling! I just got out of the shower!” A woman’s elegant voice responded to her husband from upstairs. "Alright. But, when you're done getting dressed, I'll need your help in preparing a room." the man called out. Soon footsteps were heard walking through the hallway and making their way towards the stairs. And soon the wife of the husband was walking down the stairs, wearing a gold and white silk bathrobe; and it is revealed to be none other than Canterlot’s famous supermodel, Fleur De Lis. “What are you saying, Magnus? I didn’t know you brought a guest to our home.” She said, looking down at her husband from the stairs. "It's no ordinary guest, dear. In fact… I'm sure you'll recognize him up close." Magnus replied as he began heading up the stairs with the hobo. Fleur then takes one good look at the stranger, her eyes widened with shock and she gasped loudly. Soon tears fell from her eyes as she recognized the person in front of her. After all, a mother must always remember the face of their own child. “I-Inferno?!” She said with great sadness and relief. Yes, the wandering drifter that her husband had picked up alongside the highway, was none other than Inferno Blaze. Their son had finally returned home after two years. "Wherever did you find him, honey?" Fleur asked. "He was just walking down the main highway and he collapsed from exhaustion. He's very, very lucky that I didn't run over him. He caught me off-guard when his head leaned into the road of the highway. I had to put on the brakes so swiftly, I thought I was gonna hit him. But… luckily for him, he's unharmed." Magnus replied. “Is he really alright? He looks awful!” Fleur said in despair seeing the state her son is in. “Don’t worry, he’s just exhausted.” Magnus assures his wife to keep her calm. As the two were discussing, A 67-year old man, wearing a black tux, was walking towards the stairs after having left the kitchen. As soon as he reached the stairs, the old man saw Fleur and Magnus on the stairs. “Ah, Master Magnus, I wasn’t aware you were home. Well, you’re just in time for afternoon supper and I prepared a-” The old man, clearly a butler of the mansion, was about to inform the man of the house of the food he had prepared, until Magnus had interrupted him in mid-sentence. "Bristle… would you be kind enough to prepare… a 3rd plate?" Magnus asked, turning towards his faithful butler with a warm smile. "Well… of course, but might I ask why, Master Magnus?" Bristle asked. Magnus approached Bristle and put a hand on his shoulder, shedding a single tear of joy as he broke the news. ". . .My son. . . has come home." Bristle’s eyes widen and gasps upon hearing this revelation. “Are… Are you certain, sir?” Bristle asked for confirmation. "Positive. And make sure to get him a really big portion and plenty of water." Magnus said. Bristle nodded his head in response. “Y-Yes, right away, sir!” He said with such optimism as he leaves the two and immediately heads towards the kitchen. After having given Bristle instructions, Magnus then heads back up the steps and he picks up his exhausted son and carries him up the stairs and towards his son’s old bedroom. Fleur follows behind the two. Magnus then helps remove most of his son's raggy clothing, but keeps some of his clothes on. The man tossed his dirty clothes into the dirty basket and then set his son on his bed and covered him in the blankets. Fleur walked up to her sleeping boy and gave him a peck on the cheek while stroking his messy red hair. “Ok, now that he’s settled, I’m going to head downstairs and check up on the food with Bristle.” Magnus tells his wife as he heads toward the bedroom door. Before he exits, he stops and looks back at his wife. “You wanna come with?” “No, I’m… I’m just gonna stay with our son a little longer.” Fleur replied. Magnus nods in response, understanding his wife’s reasons. So he leaves the bedroom, leaving his wife to watch over their son. She sat by her son's bedside, not even bothering to fight back the tears. She'd missed her son for so long ever since he ran from home 2 years ago. Every day, she prayed, begged and pleaded for him to be okay and make his way back home. And now, her prayers have been answered and now he is right back where he belongs. Fleur can recall the days when Inferno was just a little boy and all the times she enjoyed having fun with him. But… the most memorable thing… was that one lullaby she sang to him every night to help him go to sleep. In fact… regarding the circumstances, she only thought it'd be appropriate to sing it to him. So, she kept rubbing his messy hair as she began to sing. Little did she know, her voice rang inside Inferno's ears like a soothing melody. So much so that he would cry in his sleep. He never thought he would hear his mother’s beautiful singing ever again. And just hearing her voice again, brought back so many good memories. Memories that he knew he didn’t deserve to remember. But hearing his mother’s voice gave him a sense of peace and serenity, and washed away all the negative feelings and emotions. Fleur could see the emotional conflict on her son’s face. She knew that he had a huge fallout years ago, but she never knew that it affected him this badly. By the time his mother finished her song, Inferno's eyes squinted a little before opening them up slowly, groaning in exhaustion. He takes one glimpse of his mother for a moment before he closes his eyes back up. But before he did, he let out a couple words from his mouth. “H-Hey mom.” he said before he passed out on his bed. His voice sounded ragged and raspy, almost like his throat was dehydrated. "Hello… my precious boy. Your father and I missed you so much. Even Bristle Wing, too." Fleur said, hugging him softly in her arms. "I. . . don't deserve. . . your kindness," he replied, still ragged and raspy. “Oh none of that nonsense!” She replied softly, but strictly. “You are our son. We will never stop giving you our love and kindness.” "I'm. . . not. . . worthy," Inferno kept raspily saying. “Shhhh,” Fleur places a finger on her son’s lips to silence him. “Get some rest honey. We’ll have time to discuss this later.” She said to him, before she got up from the bed and then gave a kiss on her son’s forehead. “Love you, son.” she said before she leaves his bedroom to let him sleep. Meanwhile, down in the dining area, as Bristle was preparing Inferno's plate and a large cup of water, Magnus was sitting by the table. His son was back, but… he can tell Inferno's not in the right mindset. "I'll have to hold off on phoning his boxing coach until he's gotten his act together. 2 years is an awful long time. And my boy now looks almost like a living skeleton; well in my opinion.” Magnus said. “Shall I prepare a second dish for Master Inferno, sir?” Bristle asked. “Better make it 3 dishes, Bristle.” Magnus replied. "Of course. Anything to help the boy eat his fill," Bristle nodded. The butler worked double time on Inferno's portion. But he stops for a moment to look back at Magnus and says, “Sir? You are aware that word would get out of Master Inferno’s return to Canterlot… Right?” he asked. Magnus sat quietly after hearing that question, a question that has lingered on his mind as of recently. "I'm most aware of this, Bristle Wing. But when that time arrives, we'll be prepared. You'll be in charge of keeping Inferno away from the public's eyes while my wife and I deal with the press if they decide to come knocking at our gate." he replied. Bristle nodded his head in response. “I shall make it my #1 priority, sir.” He said. "I'm glad I can count on you. Now then, are Inferno's portions ready?" Magnus asked. "Yes sir, I shall have it brought up to his room immediately.” Bristle informs him. “Well you might want to wait a little while longer, Bristle.” Fleur’s voice spoke out to the two. They turn their heads and they see the woman walk into the kitchen. “He’s already fast asleep.” She tells them. "Very well. I'll be sure to keep his portion warm and fresh until then. Anything else you would like me to do?" Bristle asked. “No, Bristle, that’ll be all for today.” Fleur replied as she stood next to her husband. “You're excused for a whole hour.” "As you wish, Mistress Fleur. Carry on," Bristle said before going on his 1 hour break, heading over to his own room. Fleur and Magnus are left to themselves in the kitchen, with Fleur held onto her husband’s shoulders as she bore a worried look on her face. “What should we do now, honey?” Fleur asked. Magnus sighs heavily as he fidgets his fingers. “I-I don’t know. Right now, our main focus is our son’s health.” "Yes, I suppose you're right. May I suggest we… make an appointment for him after he's had his nourishment?” Fleur asked. “I guess so. Who knows what state that boy is in for a whole 2 years.” Magnus agreed with his wife. The two went silent for a moment before Fleur made another big question. “Do you think it would also be wise if… if we inform her about Inferno?” She asked. "Yes, she deserves to know, but… not right now. If she sees him now, it'll just break her heart even more. Let's wait until some time tomorrow until he's properly taken care of, then we'll give her a call." Magnus suggested “Agreed.” Fleur replied as she laid her head on top of her husband’s as she held his hand for a while. Meanwhile, somewhere in the Canterlot Wonder Dome, two fighters were in a waiting room with their trainers and managers. One of them had shoulder-length long red hair, snow white skin and sapphire blue eyes with scar-like birthmarks under his eyes. He had on a black and scarlet jumpsuit. This was Eternal Flames, age 21, professional boxer. He has a solid record of 15 matches, all wins by K.O. He has an upcoming match tomorrow and is about to weigh himself. He steps on the scale and the doctor measures his weight and announces his results. "173 pounds. Eternal Flames, you pass the weigh-in for the Light Heavyweight class." the man said. Eternal stepped off and went to dress himself up in his normal clothes. Next, his opponent weighed himself. His opponent had a faded red skin color with a brown buzz cut hairstyle. He has vermillion colored eyes and a cocky grin on his face. "173.5 pounds. Adrenaline Rush, you also clear the weigh-in for the Light Heavyweight class." the man said. "Naturally," the guy said, confidently, before stepping off. "He sure is full of himself," said an elderly man next to Eternal. This man had short, faded black hair with a few grey stripes. He had brown eyes and light grey skin. He wore a brown suit with a red necktie and a brown fedora. The man's name was Thunder Drum, age 69. Former professional boxer with a record of 30 matches, 27 wins by K.O, 2 losses and 1 draw. He was Eternal Flames’s trainer and the owner of the Thunder Drum Boxing Gym. Before they could leave, Adrenaline, Eternal's opponent, confronted him. "Let's hope you can match up to my speed, ya big palooka." he taunted with that annoying, ugly grin. "A word of advice… don't show up to a weigh in with that foul onion and garlic breath." Eternal said, unfazed by the taunt before leaving with his coach and boxing manager while his foe is left pissed off and humiliated. "You sure have a way of getting under your opponent's skin, kid. But now he's more likely to try and cream ya. Be on your guard tomorrow. Anyways, go home and get some rest "Got it, sir!" Eternal nodded and heads down the route towards his home. As he was jogging, he heard the sound of a car horn beeping. He looks behind him while still maintaining his pace. It was a purple 2021 Camaro. The car pulled up and slowed enough to match his pace. The window rolls down to reveal a young man inside. He had orange hair, purple eyes and yellow skin. He wasn't bulky, more on the skinny side. He had on a purple shirt and blue jeans. This was Heat Blitz, age 20, Eternal's younger brother. He's currently studying to become a family therapist while also supporting his older brother as he takes on the boxing world. Seeing his little bro on his way home, brought a smile and a light chuckle from Eternal. "What brings you out here, bro?" Eternal chuckles. "Just letting you know that mom's got something for you when you come home. By the way, who are you mopping the floor with this time?" Heat asked. "I'm going up against some outboxer. His record's not that impressive. 22 matches, 14 wins, 7 by K.O, 6 losses and 2 draws." Eternal replied. “Mmmmm, sounds like you’re gonna whoop butt tomorrow.” Heat comments. "Either I knock him out, or he'll knock me out… with his bad breath, P.U!" Eternal said, waving his hand from the stench. His younger brother laughs at that joke. "When you're right, you're right! Hey, how about I drive you home? You look exhausted from all that exercise," Heat offered.' "Eh, why not?" Eternal shrugged. Heat then stopped his car and Eternal hopped in. He buckled up before Heat took off. "Oh, and… speaking of bad smells, you might wanna shower when you get home. You're practically a walking skunk ass." Heat remarked. "Tch, yeah yeah, whatever," Eternal scoffed. “Mom’s gonna give you a hard time about the smell.” Heat continues to tease his brother. "Ugh… I'm 21 years old and she's still nagging me about my hygiene." Eternal said, rolling his eyes at all the times his mother nagged him to death. "By the way, have you told our old goofball about your fight?" Heat asked. "Uh… Heat… maybe you forgot, but… he hasn't shown his goofy side in a long time. Not since his… well… his best friend ran away." Eternal replied. "O…Oh, right. But, what about his girlfriend? Isn't she making him happy?" Heat asked. "She keeps him calm… in more ways than one, but… unless we can find his best friend, we don't have our goofball." Eternal said. “What has it been? 2 years now?” Heat asked. "Yup. You'd think this whole city lost its spark," Eternal said. “I mean, he helped make the town be put on the map. But… it's crazy how one man’s life could affect so many others.” Heat commented "I know. But if he hadn't acted like that, excuse me for saying this, a glorified dick before his last fight, he might've won against that challenger." Eternal said. “Look I know he was bad, but we all know how he took that heavy loss before he left us.” Heat responded. "Hopefully, if he ever gets back, we can talk some sense into him. He has to understand that taking the boxing world for granted has serious consequences." Eternal said. "I'm no expert on the subject, but I can definitely agree on "never take boxing for granted." Anyways, we're almost home. Be sure to shower nicely or mom's never gonna let you hear the end of it." Heat reminded him. "Yeah, whatever… pops." Eternal rolled his eyes. Heat rolled his eyes at his brother's carefree sarcasm and kept driving the rest of the way. Eventually, they pulled up into the driveway of their mom and dad's house. As they parked in the driveway, the two brothers got out of the car and they walked up to the front door of the house. Eternal took out his house key from his pocket and unlocked the door before entering. "Well, this is it. Home sweet home." Eternal said. "Mom, dad, we're back!" Heat called out. "Boys, welcome back!" a female voice called out. The boys notice a tall, curvy woman standing by the doorway into the kitchen. She had on a short-sleeved lavender shirt and tight skinny jeans that hugged her wide, birthing hips. She had long, multi-colored hair with lavender eyes similar to Heat's eyes and had faded pink-ish white skin. This was Celestia, age 43, Principal of Canterlot High and proud mother of Eternal and Heat. Immediately, the tall woman approached the two boys and gave them both a big hug. She held them in a tight embrace that the boys couldn’t escape; of course, they didn’t plan on escaping. They enjoyed their mother’s hugs. "How are my two favorite boys doing this afternoon?" an older male voice called out from the kitchen, getting the boys' attention. This man had red hair just like Eternal's, neatly combed and done into a ponytail. He had orange skin similar to Heat's hair color and had sapphire eyes just like Eternal. He also had a thick beard, but a faded mustache. He wore a simple blue, button-up shirt with two chest pockets and black jeans. This man was Blaze Burn, age 45, CEO of one of the biggest banks in Canterlot and proud father of Eternal and Heat and Celestia's devoted husband. "Hey, dad. We're going alright." Heat said. "Just finished the weigh-in and about to wash up before I get something to eat and rest up for tomorrow's fight." Eternal said. "Nice to hear." Blaze said. He goes over and hugs his wife and two sons. “You boys are back just in time, We have dinner set up before you arrive.” Celestia informs the two boys. "Great. But, uh… if you don't mind, I need to jump in the shower." Eternal said. "Of course. Just remember to wash your butt thoroughly, got it?" Celestia asked. "Dear god, yes, I know." Eternal chuckled. 'I knew it, I freaking called it.' he thought. Then Eternal Flames rushes up the stairs to wash up and freshen up for dinner. Meanwhile… in another part of the city, in a closed off neighborhood, a young man was undergoing some R&R after finishing his match the previous day. He was up in his room, sitting on his bed and watching a recording of his recent match. He had shoulder-length, silver hair and bright yellow skin. His eyes were hazel green and on parts of his face, he had bandages and bruises and whatnot. He wore a long-sleeved blue shirt and black sweats. This was Israel Yabuki, age 20. Professional Boxer with a strong record of 16 matches, all wins by K.O. And former amateur Boxing Champion with a solid record of 75 matches 69 wins, 65 by K.O, 5 losses and 1 draw. He got into boxing at an early age because he was constantly bullied in elementary school due to his autistic nature. He trained day in and day out and finally made his bullies back off. He debuted as an amateur boxer at the age of 12 and then went pro at the age of 18. He was always a fun-loving goofball to his friends and family, including his girlfriend. But… It wasn't until 2 years ago, his best friend disappeared and ran away without telling him. Since then, he's lost his goofy nature and doesn't see the world as beautiful and peaceful. He met his best friend back in high school, both were passionate about boxing, even though it wasn’t the sole reason for how they became best pals. But the two would spar together and even hang out at the Sugar Cafe. His pal was even the reason how he met his girlfriend; when he locked them in a room together. Israel gave him a scolding after that, before he would later thank him. Those were some good times. Which made Israel question… What the hell happened? All he got from everyone was that his pal had a rough event happen to him and he just up and left soon after that. It's also because of this that Israel now only does small talk instead of full-blown, fun-filled conversations. But the only time he's ever truly talkative now is if he's giving a full-blown lecture to anyone who got slapped with reality and resents it for doing so. Sadly, he never got the chance to lecture his friend before he left. For 2 years, the former goofball had kept little contact with everyone, and everyone thought it would be best to give him some space. However, her girlfriend kept him company at all times. Despite being shy and cute, she was secretly stubborn as hell; must’ve gotten it from one of her friends. Israel just couldn’t shake her off, so he didn’t protest her on her commitment. And if he was being honest, it helped him a little. At least with her around, she still manages to bring a few smiles back on him. He loves his girlfriend so much. There are even some occasions when she would come over and the two would snuggle in bed just so she can keep him company. So yeah, that’s what has been like for him for 2 years. At the moment, while he's watching his recent fight on his TV, he hears his bedroom door being knocked on. "Come in," he said in a calm, low tone. The door opens and reveals two people on the other side. One of them was a woman who looked similar to Israel, except her eyes were brown. She wore a burgundy T-shirt and grey sweats. This was Christina Yabuki, age 48, his devoted mother. Next to her, was a young adult with crazy long, black hair, massively bulked up and has bright yellow skin like Israel and his mother, red eyes, wore a white tank top and blue jean shorts. This was Dark Renegade, age 27 and Israel's older brother. He wasn't a boxer, but rather a skilled tow truck driver. Christina Yabuki spent most of her time trying to raise her two boys on her own. The day she had her 2nd son, their father completely walked out on them, refusing to acknowledge Israel as his own son. But she didn't care, since she had plenty of family to help raise him with her. As soon as Dark was of age, he started to pull his weight around more, to lift half of the burden off his mother’s shoulders, and he got a job as a tow truck driver. Sure it’s dull and boring as some people say, but the pay is good. But of course, it sapped some time out of his schedule to spend time with his little brother. It was fortunate Israel had their mother home with him, and he also had company from his girlfriend whenever she’s over. "Mijo, are you doing alright? Do you need anything?" his mother asked. "I'm doing alright, mom. Though… if you can, could you get me some water? I'm… kinda thirsty right now." he asked. "I'll go and get it for you, bud." Dark said, heading back down the stairs. His mom then entered the room and sat by him, putting her arm around him. "Mijo, if something's bothering you, you know you can always come to me for anything." his mother assured. "I know… thanks." Israel replied before hugging his mom back. His mother then stares at the video of her son in his fight. The video shows him covered in bruises and blood, along with his opponent, who was taller than him. He dives in, then ducks his foe's right straight. He then comes at him with a sharp uppercut, then finishes him off with a hard right to the face. The opponent's entire body flings backwards against the ropes before he falls face first into the mat. The ref comes in as Israel retreats back to his corner, the ref stands over Israel’s opponent and soon begins the countdown. But as he does, his opponent gets on his hands and knees and crawls towards Israel like he's some kind of zombie, desperate for flesh. Israel glares down at his foe before he completely sinks into the mat once more and wins by K.O. "You know, you should really be careful with how many punches you take, mijo. I get that you're not afraid and I'm proud, but you shouldn't use your face as a punching bag just to get ahead." his mother pointed out. “Yeah, Israel. Keep that up and eventually mom and I would have to raise money for you to get plastic surgery.” Dark commented, as a slight humor joke, but out of concern; as he enters back into Israel’s room. "I'm sorry." he calmly responded. "And another thing, I don't think you should be watching these fights after you just won your last match, since you need your rest." his mom mentioned. "Try watching some of your old movies or some funny cartoons. You always loved a little humor." "I… I will… try," he said in a soft tone. “That’s all I ask.” His mother replied before giving him a kiss on his forehead. After that she turns around and faces towards her eldest son, who puts on his work cap, signaling that he’ll be leaving for work. “Are you off to work again, honey?” She asked. “Afraid so, mom. I’ll be back home soon as I can.” Dark said as he and his mother shared a hug before he turned towards his brother. “Hey, if you need me, little brother, give me a call, ok?” He lets his brother know. Israel responds with a thumbs up and changes the channel on his TV and switches to the Netflix App and starts watching ‘The Bad Guys’. Giving a thumbs up back, Dark leaves the room and out of the house to get to work. Then, suddenly, Dark rushed back inside at the last minute to Israel's canteen, filled to the brim with ice cold water and then rushed out to start his shift at his towing job. “Keep yourself hydrated, little brother!” Dark said before he left through the door. "Okay." Israel replied. He accepted the canteen and started gulping some of the water. After another 30 minutes of watching the movie, Christina decided to let her son be and headed downstairs to do her usual workouts on her elliptical while listening to some music on YouTube. Even though she's no pro boxer, she likes to keep in shape with the steady diet regimen she follows every day. She only eats between 12 noon to 6PM. She uses her elliptical for a whole hour and then rests up for the rest of the day. This was her daily workout regiment whenever she came home from work at the courts. As if it wasn't blatantly clear, the disappearance of Inferno Blaze, former Light-Heavyweight champion of the boxing world, had affected so many people he was close to. And the only people who know of his return are his own parents and butler. The road to recovery is going to take a while before this former champ can get back in the ring and reclaim what he lost. As the road to redemption… is about to begin. Chapter 2 - The ReunionSleeping soundly for about an hour or two, though he was unsure, Inferno laid in his old bed, resting peacefully and comfortably, more so than he did in a long time. But soon his peaceful slumber came to an end as the young man slowly opened his eyes. Groaning and sitting up from his bed, Inferno rubbed his eyes as he blinked profusely while trying to open them. And soon enough, Inferno’s eyes finally opened as he glanced at his surroundings. His eyes widened as he saw that he was in his old bedroom, which made him realize… he was back home; one of the places he hadn’t seen, or been back to, for a long time. “Wha-What… Am I… Doing back here?” He said in confusion and shock. He immediately gets up from his bed and he also notices that his jacket, scarf, hat, boots, and his backpack were removed from him. He looks around for them and sees that backpack was set down beside a basket, where the rest of his clothing were stuffed into. Wanting to know what's going on, Inferno climbed out of bed and approached his bedroom door. He opens it up and heads down the hallway to the staircase. He glances at the family portraits on the walls as he goes down the stairs. And as he makes his way down to the family room, Inferno observes the place, seeing how everything remained the same when he left. ‘I guess nothing ever changes.’ He thought in his mind. While checking his family portraits, Magnus comes walking up the stairs and notices his son out of bed. "Inferno!" Magnus exclaimed. Upon hearing his father’s voice, Inferno faces towards Magnus with a blank expression on his face, while a slight unnoticeable grin forms on his face. “Hey… father.” Inferno responded. "Aw, son," Magnus then ran over and hugged his son. "Fleur! Bristle! He's awake!" he called out. Footsteps were heard approaching the two and sure enough, Fleur and Bristle Wing came over and rushed towards Inferno and Magnus, surrounding the former in a group hug. Inferno couldn’t exactly feel anything at the moment; however, something inside of him immediately rose to the surface. He didn’t realize that tears fell from his eyes before the pressure and build up inside him exploded. And soon, Inferno completely broke down and cried. "There, there, honey. Just let it all out." Fleur said, stroking his hair and smothering him with so much love. "Master Inferno, your parents and I have missed you since the day you left. You were most fortunate to have been found by your father on the highway," Bristle said. "He's right, you know. Even when the police called off their search last year, we never lost hope. And now, after all that waiting, I can finally tell you at long last… welcome home, son," Magnus said while his son kept weeping. As Inferno was fully reunited with his family and released all his emotions at once; meanwhile, Sunset was strolling through town after her little afternoon time at the park, likely heading towards home. As she was walking along the sidewalk, her eyes wandered and observed her surroundings until she soon spotted one restaurant establishment that was all too familiar to her. The Sweet Snacks Cafe. A place where she and her friends would go to hang out after school, where she had her first date, and where she and one of her friends had a double-date, where they celebrated Twilight getting accepted into college. It feels like only yesterday, she and her friends were living those good times. Now… it's all just a lingering memory, too painful to think about. She then pulls something out of her shirt; a necklace with a locket on it. She opens it up, revealing her boyfriend, all decked out in his boxing trunks and gloves, looking all handsome, confident and determined to face the world. It was one of her only links to Inferno and the few precious moments she was ever truly happy. He had gotten that locket necklace for her a few years ago as a birthday present. She held the locket close to her heart and then put it away as she kept on walking home. She had her head down as she was walking, which led her not seeing the person in front of her and she eventually bumps into them. Sunset and the person in front of her fell back and crashed onto the ground. The two were heard groaning in minor pain as Sunset rubbed her head in pain, just as she heard a soft timid voice speak. “S-Sorry about that.” Sunset’s eyes widened as she heard that timid voice, a very familiar voice she hadn't heard in a long time as well. The bacon-haired girl looked up towards the person she bumped into and she gasped at another familiar face she never thought she would see. “F-Fluttershy?” Sunset spoke. "Sunset?" Fluttershy responded. "Oh my, I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there." The animal lover apologized timidly, as she was always known for. Sunset didn’t really care for an apology, her eyes soon grew watery as she was soon overcome with joy. She had reunited with another one of her friends today. As Fluttershy continued to apologize, she soon yelped in surprise when Sunset lunged at her and hugged her tightly. “I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!” Sunset cried as she held onto Fluttershy. "Oh my, umm… I… missed you too, Sunset. Umm… there, there," Fluttershy said, hugging her back and patting her on the head. Though, Fluttershy seemed a little confused by Sunset's actions and why she's acting like this. "Are you, umm… going to be okay, Sunset?" she asked. Sunset sniffed and wiped away her tears as she looked at Fluttershy with a bright smile. “Y-Yeah I am, Fluttershy. I-I’m just happy.” She replied. “It's been so long.” "O…Oh, I see." Fluttershy said in realization. "I guess you're right, we haven't all been together in so long. Maybe one of these days, if you'd like, we can arrange to meet up at our usual spot just like before… i-if that's okay." she suggests. "You know… I think I'd like that very much." Sunset said. "Okay then. Anyways, my sweetheart just finished his match yesterday and I'm about to head on over to his place to check up on him. The poor dear was all banged up, even though he won his match." Fluttershy said. “Oh… Ok… So, uh, how is Israel doing these past two years?” Sunset asked. Fluttershy's eyes then looked down towards the ground as she let out a sigh. "Well… he's doing fine as a boxer, but… ever since Inferno disappeared, he hasn't shown his goofy side lately. He used to be so lively and talkative and friendly. Now, it's like all the fun was drained out of him. Even when he's out in public, he hardly shows any emotion. That's why I pay frequent visits to his place. I'm trying to bring back his old self again." she explained. Sunset also looks down after hearing all of that. “Oh…” That was all she could respond with. She understands what Israel is going through, quite frankly that's probably what some parts of the town are going through at the moment. "I guess he misses him, too." "Who doesn't miss Inferno? He was Israel's bestest friend. He's probably one of the reasons why he'd be so goofy and mischievous all the time. If only Inferno were here today, wherever he may be, things would slowly go back to normal." Fluttershy said. “Yeah… maybe it would,” Sunset replied with slight sorrow in her tone. The two stood there silently as their warm reunion had now turned sorrowful and bloomy. The moment of silence lingered for a while before Fluttershy clears her throat to speak again. "Anyways, I'll be sure to text the other girls about arranging a little get-together at our usual spot, just to catch up on old times. Okay?" Fluttershy asked. "Yeah… thanks, Fluttershy. And… tell Israel and his family I said "hi." Sunset replied. "I will, thanks." Fluttershy and Sunset then quickly shared another warm hug before the sweet butterfly girl let go and ran off towards her boyfriend's house. Sunset then continued down the path towards her own house, feeling a little bit better. After having bumped into and catching up with one of her friends, Fluttershy was feeling a little brightened up as well. Though she didn’t take time to stop and think about it as she rushed all the way across town and soon she would arrive at Israel’s home. She stops to take deep breaths after all the running she did. It's surprising how she manages to run a long way and not get overly exhausted along the way. Guess she has Rainbow to thank for introducing her to the Canterlot Gym. As soon as she recovers, Fluttershy straightens herself and then walks up to the front door. Standing at the door, Fluttershy presses the doorbell and waits patiently. Moments later, Christina comes to the door and opens it up. "Oh, Fluttershy, nice to see you again, come in." she said, letting her in. "Thanks, Ms. Yabuki." Fluttershy replied, stepping in. Christina then closed the door and locked it up. "Is your son still up in his room?" "Yeah, he's watching some movies. I was just about to go and grab some burgers when you showed up. Would you like me to get you anything while I'm gone?" Christina asked. “Oh no thanks, Ms.Yabuki, I’m good.” Fluttershy replied. "Alright then. Just make yourself at home and I'll be right back," Christina said. She then went and grabbed her jacket and car keys before leaving the house. She climbed into her car and drove off to pick up some dinner. Fluttershy waved goodbye to the mother of her boyfriend as she closed the front door, and finally; it was only her and Israel in the house, alone. So, the sweet and "innocent" butterfly princess made her way upstairs to her boyfriend's bedroom and knocked on his door. "Come in," he called out in a monotone voice. Fluttershy opened the door and spotted her sweet goofball sitting on his bed, looking as straight-faced as usual. He turns to the doorway, spotting his cute girlfriend. One look into her big, teal-green eyes and his heart skipped a beat and a small smile formed on his face. "Hi, Flutters." he simply said. Fluttershy simply giggles and waved at her boyfriend. “Hey, Izzy.” She spoke without any timidness or shyness in her voice. Towards everyone, she’s her cute, shy self; but when she’s with Israel, her personality quickly changes. You can say Israel helps release her inner confidence. Like the time, he jokingly encouraged her to go goth-girl for a whole weekend. And surprisingly for everyone, she did just that. "Nice to see my favorite girl again. Life treating you well?" he asked. “Oh, it's been good. I bumped into Sunset on the way here. She said hi, by the way.” Fluttershy responded. "I see. Tell her I said "hi" back when you get the chance. Also… how are the other girls doing these days?" he asked. “Well, Twilight’s still studying in college, Applejack is likely still visiting family down in Appleloosa, Rarity is working on her new fashion like in Manehatten City, Pinkie is also visiting family out of town, Rainbow Dash is still working at sports store downtown; she’s saving up to buy her very own gym,” Fluttershy chuckled after that last part. "Ambitious. I hope she succeeds." Israel nods. "I'm sure she will. But let's focus more on you. Mainly… those bruises on your face. Do you ever keep your guard up in that ring? I'm starting to wonder if you're using your own face as a punching bag or a catcher's mitt." Fluttershy lectures. "I did try, but his flicker jabs were sharp," Israel said. "Uh… flicker jabs?" Fluttershy asks. "Here, I'll show you. It's easier that way." he said, standing up. He moves a distance away and then… he takes up some kind of weird stance that was different from his usual one. His right fist close to his face, but his left fist lowered towards his waist, like he's forming a backwards "L" and swishes his arm left and right. Finally, his left fist launches and he somehow hits the wall on the other side of his room. It was impossible, seeing how his arms reach wasn't THAT far. Yet somehow, his arm moved in such a way, like he extended it. He does it again… and again… and again. He throws his fist in a… flickering motion. "Now I get it! Those are what the flicker jabs are. Is that why he was able to hit you so much?" she asked. "Yes… and I wasn't holding back." Israel said before he sat back down on his bed. “You… weren’t?” Fluttershy asked in slight shock. There have been times where she had seen her boyfriend go all out, and in Rarity’s saying, it wasn’t very graceful, and usually her boyfriend would be unscathed while the other person was… well, she couldn’t say. Which is why she was surprised to know that her boyfriend wasn’t pulling back his punches, and yet his opponent was able to land serious blows on him. "I guess he wasn't like that one guy you fought who had a large fan club," Fluttershy said. "That was over two years ago when I was barely making a name for myself as a pro. And I believe that was my… 4th match?" Israel guessed. "And you didn't even allow him to hit you and you utterly humiliated him with that final knockout punch to the face." Fluttershy pointed out. “And… that's… well… when we, umm…" "Fucked like rabbits?" he asked. "Mhmm," she nods sweetly with a squee and cute smile. Just then, she feels him pull her in for a long smooch, making her yelp in surprise, but quickly kisses him back. "That's for making those cute sounds." Israel whispered. Fluttershy giggles while also blushing. “You, goofball.” She whispered back. "Am I?" he asked teasingly, nuzzling her nose to nose. Fluttershy felt happy to know that at least her efforts are somewhat bringing him back. Fluttershy then surprises Israel with another kiss on the lips, this time with deep passion and arousal. Israel is surprised by her behavior, but didn’t mind at all. Then the two get under the blankets and they spend their alone time in their personal promise land. Meanwhile, as two lovebirds are makin’ love, Eternal was now sitting at the dining table, enjoying a nice, family dinner after taking a nice, warm, thorough shower. At the table were his whole family, his father, his mother; Celestia, and his brother; Heat Blitz. The family were having a peaceful dinner, they were silent for a moment, before they eventually started a family conversation about their day and routine. "So, honey, how was work today?" Celestia asked. "Pretty much the same, except I had to fire one of my employees. I caught him trying to sneak out a stack of 10 grand out of our company's main vault. Now, I need to hire a new security guard because of that." Blaze Burn said. "Sorry to hear that." Celestia said. "It's no worries. How about you, dear?" Blaze asked. "The usual CHS has been kind of… uneventful and less lively ever since the girls graduated high school. At this point, I might just have to quit being principal and find some other job." Celestia exclaimed. "And what does that make your sons? Chopped liver?" Heat asked teasingly with a grin. "Were we not lively enough?" “Oh don’t be jealous, sweety. Of course I can’t forget my two boys.” Celestia responded while she had her hand petting her son’s head. "Speaking of which, how was your day so far, Heat?" Blaze asked. "Just prepping for the exams. I've also got a practice session. If I pass, I might get my degree a year early." Heat said excitedly. "That's great, sweetie. Keep up the good work. And Eternal, I trust your weight control went well for your match tomorrow?" Celestia asked. "Yeah. Hours of sparring, running with a tire tied to my waist, relying on scraps for food, I managed to make the weigh-in on my 1st try. Although… I wish there was a breath check test, because my foe definitely failed in that department." Eternal mentioned. Heat laughed a bit after hearing that joke again. So did he and Eternal’s father, who laughed hysterically. Celestia, on the other hand, tried to keep her composure, but she let out a heartedly chuckle. Blaze takes a deep breath after laughing so hard and lets out a sigh. “That’s a good one, son.” he commented. "And what about this guy you're fighting? What's his record like?" "It's… pretty average. More wins than losses, but only half of his wins are by K.O. He's seriously lacking in the power department." Eternal said before sipping his cup of water. "You won't be saying that when you have to face your next opponent AFTER this one." Heat pointed out, which made Eternal stop sipping his water. "What do you mean, Heat?" Celestia asked. "Well… if he beats this next chump, he's gonna have to face… *gulp*...well… remember our old funny, autistic friend?" Heat asked. “Israel? What does he have to do with… Oh,” Celestia soon realizes what Heat meant, and upon doing so, she turns towards Eternal with a shocked expression. “Sweety, don’t tell me that you and your friend are going to be fighting each other?!” She asked. "It's true… I didn't want it to come to this, but neither him nor I have a choice. But Israel and I have already talked about it a week ago." Eternal said. "In fact… he was the one who talked me out of quitting." "Wait… your friend wants you to fight him?" Blaze asked. "Yes. He told me in his own words, "Don't think of me as your friend in the ring and moreso your opponent and don't even try to pull your punches… 'cause I'll know. But also know this; no matter the outcome, we'll always be best buds." Eternal explained. "I had no idea. Well… I don't approve of this, but if he trusts you, then… Please try not to cripple him, honey." Celestia said. "I'll make sure he's still alive and breathing," Eternal said. "But just remember, he's a tough cookie to crack. He's got some serious punching power." “I just hope this doesn’t affect your friendship. He’s already going through a rough time since… Inferno left…” Celestia was a little hesitant to mention the young man. Since he too was a friend of her sons. "I know. Luckily, he's got his family and Fluttershy to help get him through his tough times. Fluttershy pays him visits 3 to 4 times a week." Eternal pointed out. “Really? My money was on 3 to 4 times a day?” Heat claimed. “Hey, don’t sweat it, Bro. It can be both.” Eternal replied. "Hmmm, sounds like the boy is doing well for himself if his sweetheart is visiting him that frequently… if you know what I mean," Blaze winked. Celestia gave her husband a light smack on the back of his head in response to his comment. "What? You know I'm right, honey. You and I had our own wild adventures, too," Blaze pointed out, bringing up his and Tia's sex life, making her blush deeply. “Sh-Shut up, Honey! And don’t bring up our personal time in front of our sons ever! Or otherwise…” She leaned into her husband’s ear and whispered. “... Or otherwise, Daybreaker will have to cancel tonight’s performance.” she silently stated. "Oh alright, dear. So sorry," Blaze said before booping his wife's nose. Celestia pouted and blushed from having her nose booped, while still trying to keep a strict face “When will you ever take my strict side seriously?” she asked. "When you find the off-switch for that cuteness of yours," Blaze chuckled in retort. "Yeah, that's… next to impossible. That's like telling Fluttershy to stop being cute when she has NO off-switch," Heat pointed out. "I take her strict side seriously," Eternal said, "...Sometimes." he finishes before sipping into his cup of water some more. And so, later on, after dinner finished, everyone helped clean the table and the boys helped with the dishes. After finishing, Eternal decided to head to bed early so he'd be prepared for his boxing match tomorrow. Heat also went to bed early to be prepared for his exams. Their parents stayed up a little longer with Tia going to take a shower while Blaze Burn waited for his turn. But… let's just hope the boys remember to go to sleep with ear plugs, as they know how loud their parents can be when making love. The next day; an hour before the Eternal Flames vs Adrenaline Rush fight. Eternal and his boxing coach, along with his manager, are in the waiting room inside the Canterlot Dome, waitin patiently for his turn. Eternal decided to throw in some punches, slicing the air, just to get rid of the little tension he had inside of him. Suddenly, there's a knock at the door. Eternal stops shadow boxing and looks over as his coach opens the door. He spots his own family coming in and he relaxes. "Hi, sweetie. Just thought we'd stop by and wish you best of luck." Celestia said. "Not that you'll need it since your opponent looks like a total dupe with that silly grin." Blaze chuckled a bit, making Eternal chuckle as well. "Thanks, I needed that, dad." Eternal said. "By the way, we bumped into Israel and his family earlier. We'll be sure to tell him you said "hi." Heat said. "Thanks. And you guys sit back, relax and enjoy the show." Eternal nodded. So, his family exchanged their best wishes to him and hugged him before leaving the waiting room with his coach and manager. "You've got a hell of a family there, kid." Thunder said. "Sure do, chief," Eternal nodded. Meanwhile, over in the middle section of the stadium, Israel and his family were sitting there, waiting for the match to begin and the arena was filling up with spectators. "The final match for the Light Heavyweight division will begin in a few short minutes." the announcer reminded the audience over the mic. As the audience was waiting patiently for the event to start, Israel and his family were left to converse with one another as they waited. Ms.Yabuki turned to Israel as she silently asked him: “Sweetie, why haven’t you invited your girlfriend with us?” She asked. “I have, though Fluttershy said she would think about it. I highly doubt she would come to the event.” Israel tells her mother. “Think again, little brother.” Dark informs Israel as he points over to the stairs in the stands. Israel turns towards the direction his brother is pointing, where he sees Fluttershy walking up to them before she finally spots Israel and his family and gives them a smile and waving her hand. "Speak of the angel," Israel said, smiling and going over to escort Fluttershy over to her seat next to him. They both sit down, still holding each other's hand. Ms. Yabuki then turns toward Dark and whispers to him. “What about you, sweetie? Do you have anyone to bring to the event?” She asked. “Nah, she and her brother are a little tied up at the moment, 'cause running a camp is a lot to handle.” Dark responded to her mother’s question. "Oh, I can understand that. Responsibilities are never easy to work around," Christina said. "Don't I know it. Man, I cannot wait to see how Eternal "Hell" Flames puts his next victim out of their misery," Dark said. "Yeah… I'm curious too," Israel said. And soon… the time goes by and soon, the crowd roars in applause as the fighters come out one by one. Eternal comes out first and nearly the whole city is cheering for him. He doesn't pay them any mind though, keeping his mind focused on the ring. He climbs up the steps and leaps over the ropes, entering the ring with style. Next, his opponent walks in, shadow boxing with that same stupid grin. He receives some applause from the people in the arena and then climbs up the steps and enters the ring. After boxers entered the ring, the announcer stepped into the center of the ring and reached up to the mic and started to announce the fighters and get this event underway. "Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Canterlot Dome! For tonight's main event, 10 rounds of Light Heavyweight boxing! From the red corner, from the Thunder Drum Boxing Gym, weighing at 173 pounds, the fiery fist of fury himself, Eternal "Hell" Flames!" the announcer exclaimed, gesturing to the red head, who received thunderous applause. "And in the blue corner, weighing in at 173.5 pounds, from the Dusk Purge Boxing Club, the quick feet fighter, Adrenaline Rush!" he exclaims and gestures to the other boxer, who also receives applause. "Both fighters to the center of the ring!" the announcer said. Both boxers did as instructed and stared into each other's souls. "Alright, boys, listen up. I'm gonna be watching for low blows and rabbit punches, no headbutting or biting either. In case of a knockdown you head to a neutral corner and wait there until I say so. Is that understood?" the referee asked. Both nodded. "Any questions?" he got none. "Alright boys back to your corners." They both retreat to their corners and the announcer makes one more… memorable… line. "And now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls… LLLLLET'S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!" The crowd cheered louder than ever as the fight was now about to begin. Both fighters were ready and waiting for the bell. They both hopped and shook their arms, hyped up and ready to get this started. And then the moment finally came… *DING* *DING* *DING*... As the bell rang, and the match began. Both fighters gathered once again in the middle of the ring. Eternal keeps a mid-range distance with his guard up and his feet hopping. Adrenaline could tell Eternal was planning on fighting by the book. But he wasn't afraid. "He's moving about in a simple orthodox upright style and judging by the way he's keeping his weight on his rear foot, it's obvious Eternal's going for a counter." Israel said. Adrenaline then goes for a left-right jab combo, or a one-two as they call it, but Eternal side steps out of the way just in time. Adrenaline goes for another attack. He throws two jabs, but Eternal sways side to side, then counters with a left of his own, landing it smack on Adrenaline's face, making him flinch. 'That's a hell of a left he's got. But I'll bet… that this kind of boxing…' Adrenaline paused and then rushed in. '...isn't in the book!' He then leans into Eternal and lands a body blow on him, then swings two hooks at him, but both of those are blocked. "What the hell's going on here?" Dark asked. “Um, I’m kinda new to this whole… fighting thing… so I don’t know.” Fluttershy lets everyone know. “I have suspicions that my son is toying with him,” Blaze Burn proclaimed. “Are you sure about that, honey?” Celestia asked. “It's a father’s instinct, I know he’s toying with the poor bastard.” Blaze stated. The fight keeps going and Adrenaline throws a barrage at Eternal until he shifts his weight to his front leg, which could only mean… 'No way… he's gonna in-fight?' Adrenaline asks in thought. 'That's fine by me, close-range combat is where I rule!' And soon, Eternal throws a right, as does Rush. It's a dual exchange and both punches hit homes right in their faces. They slug it out and the audience is going crazy. However, Israel can tell that Eternal's taking less damage by using the shoulder block technique. Adrenaline goes in for an uppercut, it only grazes him. Eternal returns with a sharp right hook. 'I'm pushing him hard! How come he can hit me so easily?!' he asked. 'What a joke. To think I have to get past you to face my buddy. What a waste of time,' Eternal thought to himself. The look in Eternal's eyes would make anyone think he was possessed. Adrenaline had no choice but to guard, hopefully Eternal would tire out. But Eternal wasn't slowing down. In fact, he was speeding up and his power was growing stronger. So much so that he was landing punches in the tiniest gap in his guard. And then… *POW!* Eternal lands a brutal uppercut on Adrenaline's jaw. He limps forward, but Eternal doesn't give him a chance to fall. He delivers an onslaught of punches to his standing unconscious foe. Adrenaline is too dazed to stop him. And for the finisher, he delivers a corkscrew punch, which ultimately causes blood to spew out of the guy's mouth, knocking his mouth piece out of his mouth before the ref steps in just as Adrenaline falls to the mat. Eternal backs away to a corner, but the ref quickly waves his arms, signaling the end of the match before Eternal reaches the corner. He wins by 1st round knockout. The crowd loudly cheers and applauds louder, as did both Eternal and Israel’s family, as Eternal had emerged triumphant. "I doubt he's gonna show his face in the ring ever again. With that corkscrew punch to the jaw, along with all those blows to the face, he's gonna need some serious surgery to recover." Israel said with a straight face. “Surgery? The dude’s gonna need a prayer and a telethon.” Dark commented. Israel would have a reply to add on to that, but is stopped when he felt his shirt being tugged on by Fluttershy. "What's up, babe?" Israel asked. “Um, Israel, after this, do you wanna come by the Sweet Snack Cafe with me? I was gonna meet up there with the rest of the girls; it's gonna be our big reunion after 2 years. And I was hoping you would come by and meet them again.” Fluttershy asked. "Hmm… sure. I don't mind." Israel shrugged. "*gasp* yay!" Fluttershy said, pushing his buttons, yet again. And he pulls her in for another smooch and boops her on the nose. "Must you always be so cute?" he asked, smiling. "Mmmm, yes," Fluttershy squees, now earning another smooch. The two kissed lovingly as they blocked out the ring announcer’s voice echoing across the stadium. An hour later after Eternal’s fight. Meanwhile, about an hour after Eternal’s big Light Heavyweight fight, Sunset Shimmer had left her apartment about 5 minutes ago and she was riding her motorcycle along the streets of Canterlot City. She would later arrive at the one place she hasn’t been back to in a long time; Sweet Snack Cafe. As soon as she parks in the parking space in front of the establishment, Sunset takes off her motorcycle helmet and she takes a big look at the restaurant, as she was reminiscing of the memories she had here. “Well… I’m back,” She said to herself, softly. After taking in the scenery, Sunset then gets off her bike and then she slowly, and hesitantly, walks towards the front door of the cafe. She stops and takes a deep breath, preparing herself for what she would see on the inside. And with that, she pushed the door open and walked inside. "Hello, and welcome to-- oh, Sunset! It's been a while," Mrs. Cake called out. "Sure has. Uh… I'm gonna be sitting by the big, round table." Sunset said. "By yourself?" Mrs. Cake asked. "No, the uh… the girls said they'd be dropping by later on." Sunset said. "Oh, well alright. Still, it's been so long since I've seen you or your friends stop by here." Mrs. Cake pointed out. "I know, I miss them a lot." Sunset said as she went to sit down. “Awww don’t be such a party pooper!” A familiar bubbly voice spoke to her. Then in Sunset’s field of vision, A pink hand presented her a cupcake with pink frosting on it. “Here, have a cupcake!” "PINKIE!!!" Sunset shouts happily as she turns and hugs her sugar-loving friend. "I'm so glad to see you again!" Pinkie kept a bubbly personality when she presented Sunset with a cupcake, but the moment Sunset hugged her, she couldn't help but hug her back and cry as well. “I KNOW!!! It's been so long!” Pinkie responded as she cried up waterfalls. "I'm sorry I haven't been making time to spend time with you or the others." "It's okay, Pinkie. The important thing is you're here. And if you're here, I'll bet the others on their way here right now, too," Sunset said. “Well I got here in 10 seconds flat! So you better bet on it, Sunset.” The two heard a familiar voice speak to them, and they instantly recognized the person by the words they had just said. They turned around and there stood their rainbow-haired athlete gal pal. "Rainbow Dash!" Sunset and Pinkie exclaimed. Both girls pulled their speedy friend in for a group hug. "And how are you two ladies doing? Anything interesting happened while I was selling and making merch fly off the shelves?" Rainbow asked. “Oh no, we have nothing interesting to tell to the Rainbow Dash,” Sunset said with playful sarcasm. "Ahh, I get it, you wanna save the big news for when we're all here. I get it." Rainbow said, catching the hint. “Nah, it's just that everything has been so dull without you girls.” Sunset replied. "If that's how you feel, darling, then perhaps it's time we all catch up and make some new good memories, wouldn't you say?" a posh, elegant lady's voice called out. All three girls turned around and there stood their most elegant friend, Rarity. All dressed and prepped for their big reunion. “Rarity!” They all exclaimed as they rushed over and pulled her in a group hug. “You don’t know how long I waited to see you girls again.” Rarity proclaimed as she tried to not cry and ruin her mascara. “Trust us, Rarity, I think we all have the same feeling.” Rainbow replied. "Ah couldn't agree more with y'all 'bout that," said another female with a country accent. "Applejack!!!" the girls exclaimed again. Now AJ is pulled into the group hug. But AJ merely cries on the inside. "If Ah had known it had been this long since either of us spent any quality time together, Ah'd have asked mah brother to hold down the fort fer me while Ah headed out. Well… better late than never, Ah suppose." AJ said, hugging her friends. "I believe work has consumed all of us, darling," Rarity added. “No kidding. Working to save up for my own gym is so time-consuming.” Rainbow commented. "If you think that's time-consuming, try spending a day in our shoes," said an adorkable voice. "Especially when you're spending hours studying for exams," added a male voice. The girls all turn and recognize their favorite adorkable couple. "TWILIGHT! HEAT!" they all exclaimed. Twilight and Heat chuckled at the girl's excitement, and so they opened their arms up wide, anticipating the incoming group hug they would soon find themselves crushed in between. And soon they were encased in the group hug, as everyone chuckled and smiled, feeling happier than they ever did in 2 years. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss being a part of these big group hugs!" Heat said while getting squished in the group hug. “I KNEW YOU FINALLY WOULD!” Pinkie screamed with excitement, almost making Heat go deaf. "Oh my! Everyone's here already? That was fast," said a hushed female voice. "And in the best of moods." said another male voice. Everyone turned around and they saw Israel and Fluttershy standing by the front door, likely that they had just entered and saw the group hug going on. And soon, they would become part of it. “FLUTTERSHY!!!! ISRAEL!!!” The group shouted as Israel and Fluttershy walked up to the others and soon everyone was hugging and greeting each other after a 2-year gap. Their group dynamic was almost completed, now all that remained was…. A whistle was heard by all of them as they all turned and saw Eternal standing just outside of the group circle. Who still had some remnants of his fight remaining; and by that, it meant the light bruises that were barely noticeable. They all should have seen the other guy. “Whoa, look at how beautiful you guys turned out. What the fuck happened to me?” Eternal jokingly said, likey at the expense of his small bruises. But he didn’t care, he was filled with joy seeing all his old friends after so long. "By the way, congratulations on your win," Fluttershy added. "Thanks. It wasn't exactly glamorous, I'll give you that." Eternal said. "And trust me, I know ‘glamorous’ when I see it. Or should I say "her." Right, my little diamond girl?" He turns towards the fashionista. Rarity smiled widely as she no longer kept the elegant and proper act as she ran towards Eternal and jumped onto him while gleefully cheering as she hung onto him by her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. Eternal held onto her while also chuckling heartedly before meeting her lips with his. "And I see you're doing well. Not that many bruises on you. I can't wait until we head home so mama can reward you." Rarity said before licking her lips. "Easy, Rare-bear. We're in public," Eternal said playfully. “I know, but seeing you put that ruffian in his place makes me so hungry~” She replied back playfully. “Hey lovebirds. Save the lovey-dovey back home, we have a reunion party to get started.” Rainbow informs the two. "Yeah, I'm hungry, let's hurry up and order already." Twilight added. The others agreed and all took their seat at the big round table. For a start, each of the girls ordered drinks. The girls ordered iced mochas while the guys ordered ice water. "It feels nice to be back together again, everybody. So, what have you guys been up to? How's life been treating you all lately?" Sunset asked. Soon all the girls, besides Fluttershy, all groaned in annoyance and boredom. Which gave Sunset, Fluttershy, and the boys the impression that… life was not very pleasant for each of them. “Sooooooo booooooorrrring! My job at the sports store has been nothing but lame and quiet. The only time things got heated was when I got into an argument with a customer.” Rainbow exclaimed about her work life. “Why is that, darling?” Rarity asked. “Well because the dude’s 6-yr old son decided to get handsy with my ass!” Rainbow said in annoyance. “I shouted at the kid’s face, and his ‘wuss of a father’ took it personally. I argued with him for several minutes until my boss arrived to settle the argument.” She explained "Really? How?" Pinkie asked. “I don’t wanna get into it, cause the conversation was boring and pointless.” Rainbow implied. "You didn't get in trouble, did you?" Fluttershy asked, worried. "Boss told me, he'd cut my paycheck if it happens again," Rainbow pouted. “Well did you ask the boy why he did what he did?” Twilight asked. “Oh yeah I did. The kid apologized after the whole incident settled; he’s a good kid. When I asked him, he said that he mistaken my butt for soccer balls.” Rainbow explained. Everyone chuckled and lightly laughed when Rainbow said that. At that moment, Israel got out his cell phone and was about to send a message to his older brother and Fluttershy saw this. "Uh-oh…" Fluttershy uttered. Immediately she reached out her hand and snatched Israel’s phone out of his hands. “None of that while we’re here, Izzy!” She stated. "Uh… am Ah missin' somethin'?" AJ asked. "It's an old habit he hasn't grown out of. Anytime someone does Israel or any of his friends wrong, he alerts his older brother about the situation. You know how that big guy gets around, finding his vics and making them come out and apologize all scared." Heat pointed out. "Wait, he STILL does that for a living? Doesn't he have a job or something?" Sunset asked. "He does, but he doesn't get many hours in the day. 6 to 7 hours total." Israel pointed out. "Look, Israel, I appreciate you trying to do me a solid, but don't waste your time on the guy who's kid groped my ass. The man's a wuss, small time, not worth it. After all, we're all here to celebrate our reunion," Rainbow rationalized. "My, Rainbow! It looks like all that time going solo has certainly matured you," Rarity said. "Well, as the old saying goes, we all gotta grow up someday," Rainbow shrugged. "True, though I'm only saying this just to be honest. I don't approve of the kid's actions, but I wouldn't blame him for grabbing ya considering how you have such an attractive ass." Heat pointed out. "Ooh, you hear that, Dashie?" Pinkie asked teasingly. Rainbow didn’t reply as she was blushing in embarrassment and hid her face behind her hands. Twilight softly elbowed her boyfriend for making that comment in front of her and towards one of her friends, Heat had a sheepish expression while putting up his hands in surrender. "Again… sorry, just… being honest. Twilight, you know, you're always gonna be my girl, I'd never betray you." Heat said, putting his hand on hers. "Yeah, I know, you little dork," Twilight replied before kissing him on the cheek. “So what about you, AJ? What have you been up to?” Pinkie asked her farm gal pal. “Well, it's a funny story there, sugarcube.” AJ said as she discussed what life has been treating her. Meanwhile, as the girls and the 3 boys were getting acquainted, a black SUV was parked right outside the cafe, and inside the car were Fleur De Lis and Inferno Blaze, with Bristle as their designated driver. Fleur was dressed in casual wear, as she intended to spend quality time with her son for today. Inferno, on the other hand, had freshened up for the occasion, he got cleaned up and he had on fresh, clean clothes. He wore a gray hoodie to hide his face, since this was the first time out in public; more specifically, in his hometown. "Thank you for the ride, Bristle. Why don't you go and treat yourself to some lunch while Inferno I spend some quality time together?" Fleur offered. "Of course, mistress. Enjoy your evening," Bristle replied. Fleur then turns to her son, Inferno, who continues to stare at the restaurant establishment. He had a lot of good memories here, memories that had haunted him for 2 whole years. And now he was back, and about to take a step back into the place for the first time since he had left Canterlot City. Fleur could see the turmoil in her son’s eyes and the hesitation they held. She held onto her son’s hand, in an attempt to comfort him and assure him that everything is alright. “Are you ready, sweetie?” She asked him. Inferno turned to face her with an anxious expression on his face while trying to put on a smile for his mother, which he failed miserably. And then he turned his attention back towards the cafe as he took in a deep breath and exhaled in nervousness. “Ready as I'll ever be.” He said with lack of confidence, but held slight determination. He knew he couldn't stay away forever. It was time to face the past head on. Meanwhile, back inside, the group had continued on conversation, with each of them sharing their stories about what they did for two years, and how it was so boring and plain without any adventure and excitement. "Sounds to me like all of us haven't done anything fun lately. By the way, AJ, how are your parents doing lately?" Fluttershy asked. "They're alright. Pa's being bed-ridden 'cause he hurt his leg when he fell off the barn roof. Ma's lookin' after him along with Granny Smith." AJ said. "The heck was he doing up on the roof?" Heat asked. "There was a leak, so he had to patch it up. After he finished, he was climbing down, but lost his footing an' rolled down the edge and onto the ground. His leg hit the wooden fence hard, which also helped break his fall." AJ explained. "Ouch! I hope he's okay." Twilight said. "He will be." AJ assured. While they kept conversing, the front door of the restaurant opened up and in walks Fleur and her son, who's keeping his face hidden with his hoodie. Mrs.Cake heard the doorbell ring, signaling her that some new customers had entered the cafe. "Hello and welcome to-- oh! Fleur, hello there!" Mrs. Cake greeted the celebrity.. "Hello Mrs. Cake. A table for two, if you please," Fleur asked. "Of course, please have a seat over here," Mrs. Cake gestured to the table next to the big roundtable with the girls. “Very much appreciated, thank you.” Fleur responded before she and Inferno walked over to the table. Inferno sat down with his back turned towards the roundtable where the girls and the boys were. He should have known at least one or two of the girls and boys would be here, but all of them!? He knew coming here was a bad idea! And now he has no idea how to get out of this situation. Fleur notices that her son was now acting jittery and overly anxious at the moment, and when she looked behind him, she instantly knew the reason why. Her son’s old friends, including his girlfriend, were also here at the cafe. "Honey… eventually, they have to know. They miss you. But don't worry… I'm right here for emotional and moral support," Fleur whispered. Inferno remained silent, he was too nervous and jittery right now. He doesn't know how his friends and girlfriend have been doing since he was gone. He doesn’t know whether or not they hate him or are ashamed of him for leaving Canterlot. He doesn’t even know how much has changed since he was gone!? Meanwhile, the group were continuing to have a great time together and finding new found joy in each other’s company. That was until Rarity drew away from the chatter and spotted a certain celebrity model sitting at a table nearby. Immediately she informed the others. “Girls! GIRLS! Look who’s here!” She gets everyone’s attention and points them towards Fleur’s direction. "No way! Is that…?!" Twilight asked in shock. "It is!" Rainbow confirmed. "Fleur De Lis!" the all exclaimed, minus the goofball. "Been a while since I saw her…" Israel uttered. "Hello everyone! How are you all doing?" Fleur asked, after hearing them shouting her name and noticing that they were looking in her direction. “Uh… We’re…doing good. What are you doing here?” Sunset asked the celebrity. "I thought I'd go into town and spend some… quality time with a special someone." Fleur said. "Surely, you must've heard of them." Inferno silently shook his head at his mother, begging her not to reveal him to the group. But now her comment had piqued their curiosity. "Special someone? As in… someone other than your husband?" Rainbow asked, confused. "But the only person I can think of is… o… oh my…" Fluttershy said in realization. "Fluttershy, do you know somethin'?" AJ asked. "Darling… you don't mean…" Rarity guessed, realizing. Hearing that they were starting to realize, Inferno’s anxiety finally reached its peak as he got out of his chair and tried to make a quick dash towards the door, despite his mother’s protest. But in his attempt at a quick getaway, Mrs. Cake came by with a platter with two cups of water on it, likely for Fleur and him. And without thinking, he unintentionally bumps into Mrs.Cake, causing her to spill the two glasses of water on the floor. Then Inferno slips onto the liquid puddle and falls onto his back with a hard slam. "Oh dear!" Fleur exclaimed. She kneeled down and helped both her son and Mrs. Cake back onto their feet. "Are you two alright?" “I-I’m fine, Fleur. No worries about…*gasp*!” Mrs.Cake gasped as she looked towards Inferno’s direction. As did the girls and the boys. Fleur turns towards her son and she realizes why they were shocked. After he had fallen to the ground, Inferno’s hood slipped off his head, revealing his face for all to see. Inferno groaned in pain before he looked towards everyone in the establishment, and he soon noticed their shocked expressions. He reached towards his hood, only to not feel his hood on his head, which made him realize that… they all can see his face. "I… I… Inferno?" Sunset gasped, her tears welling up in her eyes. Inferno had a nervous expression on his face, just as he tries to put on a smile, but fails again. As he waved at his old friends slightly as he spoke to them for the first time in two years. “H-Hey guys… It's been a while.” he said Right away, Sunset couldn't hold herself back and she jumped right over the table and tackled her boyfriend to the ground, wrapping him in her arms. "INFERNO!!!" she sobbed. She sat up with him, holding him tight and never letting go. "I've missed you so much! I… I thought I'd lost you forever!" "In…fer…no…" Israel said in a hushed voice. His dulled, lifeless eyes slowly have the color restored to them and as he gets up from the table… he breaks down. "Inferno! It is you… Inferno's back!" he exclaimed, dropping to his hands and knees. "You… You damn bastard, I looked EVERYWHERE for you!" he shouted, sobbing all the while. Inferno didn’t have any more words to say. He was busy taking in his girlfriend and his best friend’s emotional reactions, they both overwhelmed him with so much guilt and sorrow, that he cannot respond. Now that his friends have reunited with him, the hard part of his recovery journey is about to begin. Chapter 3: Reminiscing Romance ReignitedAt the Blaze’s manor; about an hour after the Sweet Snacks Cafe incident. Everyone in the family room was silent for a long while. All didn’t know what to say or what to think of the situation they were in. The Rainbooms, as well as Heat, Eternal, and Israel, all sat on the few couches on the left side of the family room; as well as Heat and Eternal’s parents, and Israel’s mother and brother; both families were notified of this event and arrived to the mansion in an instant. On the other side of the room, the Blaze family sat on another couch, with Bristle Wing standing behind them. And in between Magnus and Fleur, was the one person that was the center of everyone’s attention. Inferno Blaze. A young man; a friend, a lover, a son, an honorary brother; who had left them all for 2 years, was now back in town. And they didn’t know how to feel. Sure, there were a few of them who were glad to see him back, though some were conflicted with feelings of distraught, sorrow, or anger; or a mix between the three. "So… he's finally back, huh?" Dark asked. "When did you say he came back?" Christina asked. Both Magnus and Fleur were hesitant to answer, but they knew their son was too anxious and ashamed of himself to even answer any of their questions. So as Magnus clears his throat, he answers Christina’s question. “Yesterday afternoon.” He said. “YESTERDAY!?!?!” The Rainbooms and the boys exclaimed loudly. “He was back in town yesterday, and none of you gave us a call about it!?” Rainbow asked in disbelief. "Calm down, Rainbow. I'm sure they had a reason why they didn't tell us." Sunset replied, trying to calm her down. "She's right. We had to keep him bed-ridden because of the state he was in. Our poor boy was mal-nourished and hadn't had a proper shower in years. So, we cleaned him up, fed him and allowed him to sleep. If you saw the state he was in yesterday, you would be more heartbroken than what you are all feeling right now.” Fleur explained. Everyone fell silent and devastated to hear about Inferno's health before today. It sounded like 2 years was even more harsher on him than it was on any of them. “And we knew eventually that we have to inform you of his return. We just didn’t expect it to be today.” Magnus stated. "I understand. Perhaps maybe we should've waited for a week until Inferno could show his face again in public?" Heat asked. "Correct. However, because my wife insisted on spending some quality time with Inferno, I couldn't find it in me to deny her. And I guess on their way to lunch, they must've ran into you." Magnus guessed. “Pardon my interruption, sir. But since we have everyone here as our guest for the evening, shall I fetch drinks for this occasion. Perhaps treat them to some of our cider collection from Apple Acres?” Bristle asked Magnus. “Yes! Please!” Rainbow proclaimed loudly, with stars in her eyes, the moment she heard the word ‘cider’. "Oh boy, when Rainbow hears the word "cider," she just can't help herself," Sunset chuckled. "Aww, Dashie looks so cute," Israel teased. Then to everyone’s surprise, a soft chuckle could be heard coming from Inferno. Oh, hearing Rainbow getting excited for apple cider brought back some good memories; especially times when she and him competed for who could drink as much cider as they could. Obviously, she won everytime, but it was the most fun he had. Hearing Inferno chuckle gave the girls and the boys some reassurance that deep underneath his hollow shell that he built around himself, there was still a small semblance of Inferno’s old self left in him. “Yes, Bristle, you may.” Magnus said to the butler before he turned towards everyone else. “Uhm, would anyone here like a drink?” he asked all around. Everyone nodded or at least said ‘yes’ or ‘sure’, so with that, Bristle left the room and headed to the kitchen to fetch everyone’s drinks. And soon enough, Fleur suggested it would be wise if the parents in the room were to step out and leave the kids to catch up. And they agreed to her suggestion. So Inferno’s parents, along with Heat and Eternal’s parents, as well as Christina Yabuki, all left the family room and headed towards the kitchen. Leaving the Rainbooms and the boys alone in the room with Inferno. "Inferno… it's really good to have you back. We've really missed you," Twilight said. "I agree. Israel hasn't been his old, goofy self ever since you left. He barely even smiles and only does small talk." Fluttershy added. "Yeah and when you left, it's like a piece of us had gone away as well. I was even finding it hard to have fun at times." Pinkie stated. “And I was finding it hard to come up with any new fashion designs.” Rarity exclaimed. “Ah’ personally didn’t change much, ‘cept that Ah’ have been overworkin’ mah’self since ya leavin’ town took a toll on all of us.” Applejack added. “I've been lacking the motivation to even further my studies in college." Twilight said. “What?! But Twilight, you said you were doing good?” Sunset asked. “Well… I lied.” Twilight responded. "She still gets good grades, but she's been doing something that I thought my brother or Israel would do . . .procrastinate." Heat added. “And I pretty much lost 20% of my cool side, and I have to work full-time at a gym store to save up to own my very own gym; And let me be honest, it's not going well.” Rainbow stated. “Yeah, about that. Inferno, ever since you lost your big Light-heavyweight title, the whole town lost its popularity in the whole ‘professional boxing’ business, and well… the town lost a good amount of money. So basically, now the town barely has a few boxing gyms, and about a handful of part-time boxers. And none of the matches the town staged drew enough popularity. That was until today, and as of now, Eternal and Israel are the only two in town who are now granted to compete in the Light-Heavyweight championship bout.” Sunset explained. "And what's more is their match is scheduled in 3 weeks." Heat added. Inferno had his head down as he heard them all talk of the things that've happened to them ever since he left. And now, hearing that his best friend and Eternal are now gonna have to slug it out for a chance at the title belt. The same belt that he lost 2 years ago. He just hopes that the belt is in someone else’s hands by now, and not… him. "I really didn't want it to come to this, but if I have to fight him, I'll fight with all I've got." Eternal said, though he wasn't too thrilled about it. "I only care about who wins in the end." Israel said. "If I win, I'll fight harder. If I lose, then it's back to the drawing board." "If, uh… you don't mind me asking… who's the champion right now?" Twilight asked. "Last I checked, it was the same guy who knocked the arrogance out of Inferno's inflated ego: Light Heavyweight champion… Steel Mane." Eternal replied. Inferno’s body tensed and shivered upon hearing that name. He really hoped that he would never hear that name again. But luck wasn’t really on his side. And he fears it will not be for either Eternal or Israel. The girls all groaned in annoyance upon hearing that name. “I’m not one to say such foul language, but I personally would rather see that no-good ruffian be beaten to a bloody pulp!” Rarity stated. "My dear Rarity, that's not foul language. THIS is foul language: "I oughta sock it to that son of a bitch and paint the ring red with his fucking blood!" Eternal said in a low, menacing tone. “Oh ok, duly noted.” Rarity responded calmly. "You sound like my brother when he's in "Vigilante Mode." Israel pointed out. "Either way, one of you guys is stepping into the ring with that guy. Just be careful, his punches are so powerful he made 4 boxers go into permanent retirement because of the severe injuries they all sustained. He even slipped 2 more into a coma." Heat warned. The moment Heat said that, Inferno soon received flashbacks of that fight he had with Steel Mane. *Flashback* Inferno was in the ring with another boxer; who stood around 6’3” tall, the same height as him. He had piercing red eyes, steel gray-colored hair, light-gray brown skin. He wore white and gray trunks. That was all Inferno could take glimpses at as he took heavy and fast blows from his opponent. Inferno’s face was riddled with bruises and cuts as he was panicking and was aching in pain. Pain. That was all he could remember. Every blow Steel landed on him, Inferno thought that he almost felt his ribs break. And then came the brutal right hook that sent him tumbling to the ground and everything went black. And all he heard in that moment were small cries of someone calling his name. “Inferno… Inferno… Inferno… INFERNO!!!” *End of Flashback* “INFERNO!” Sunset screamed louder than she ever did as Inferno was having a major panic attack. The young man breathed heavily for a few seconds as Sunset held his hand as a means to comfort him, and with that, Inferno was able to calm down as he closed his eyes and slowed his breathing. As he later opens them again, he could see all Sunset, along with the girls and the boys, all surrounding him. From his line of view and position, Inferno realized that he was laying on the floor of the family room. “That’s it, Inferno. Just relax a bit.” Sunset spoke softly to him as she gently rustled his hair and while also still holding his hand. Her actions helped Inferno fully recuperate from his panic attack, and soon his rapid heartbeats went back to its normal rhythm, and he was now able to control his breathing.. "What happened to the poor guy?" AJ asked. "From his heavy breathing and erratic behavior, I say he was having a panic attack.” Twilight stated, with the knowledge she learned from her medical lessons in college. "And I already know why," Israel added, folding his arms. "Inferno, we understand that losing that match left quite an impact on you. But don't let it get you down so much. I'll bet once you've reconnected with your fighting spirit, you'll be knocking his lights out in no time!" Sunset encouraged, still hugging him. Inferno’s eyes widen as he immediately gets up from the floor. “No! No no no no no!” he exclaimed as he stepped away from the group. “I’m not going back! I swore I would never go back!” Inferno stated with anxiety and aggression. This ticked off his best friend and so he stood up himself. "Why?! Because you're afraid of getting knocked back on your ass again? Because you don't wanna be humiliated again? Because he punches too hard? Tell me, why don't you wanna fight again?" Israel asked, glaring at his friend. “I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!!!” Inferno shouted with such agitation as he quickly left the family room and headed towards the stairs. The grown ups in the kitchen overheard the commotion and they immediately entered back into the living room to see what was going on. Fleur and Magnus watched as their son walked past them and sped up the stairs. “Inferno, where are you going?” Fleur asked out of concern. But Inferno didn’t reply as he disappeared up the stairs. And then a loud sound of a door slammed echoed across the mansion. "Dude, what the heck did you do that for?!" Rainbow scolded. "Honestly, Yabuki! Did you not see how distraught the poor dear was?" Rarity added. "That was kinda mean," Pinkie also pointed out. "Look, I'm sorry, but with the way he's acting right now, that's not the Inferno Blaze I know. Until he's ready to talk, I've gotta prepare myself for my next match." Israel sighed in frustration. “WHAT DID YOU ALL DO TO MY SON!!!” An aggressive feminine voice echoed in the family room, the group looked over to its source and they were faced with an angry Fleur De Lis; probably mama bear instinct kicking in, as she glared at the girls and the boys. And standing next to the celebrity model, was her husband, and Eternal and Heat’s parents, as well as Israel and Dark’s mother. Magnus was also glaring at the young group, wanting to know what happened when they were in the kitchen with the other adults. "Apologies, Mrs. De Lis. Inferno's just suffering from a little… PTSD. We were trying to help bring back his fighting spirit, but… it appears he's still…" Eternal paused, trying to find the right words to say. "...still trying to cope with the loss he suffered. Inferno's probably still picturing all the gruesome events that he experienced 2 years ago, which is why he stormed off." Heat added, covering for his friend's mistake. “And did none of you take that in mind and come to the conclusion that he needs time to recover!?” Magnus asked, with a raised tone of voice. "We admit, we were a bit hasty, sir. We do apologize. Please don't be too mad at us. We're really worried about our friend," Fluttershy said with sincerity, looking up at the two angry parents with her pleading eyes. With Fluttershy’s apology, Magnus and Fleur eventually calmed down a bit. “That’s very kind of you to apologize, Fluttershy. As expected of you. But as of now, I believe you all have overstayed your welcome here. I advised you all to leave our home immediately; at least, to give our son time to calm down.” Fleur informed them all. And at that moment, Israel didn't hesitate to take his leave without a word. He heads out the front door. Once he's out, he bolts off before anyone could try to talk to him. "Of course, sorry fer the trouble. Come on, gals. Let's go," AJ said. The others all got up and headed out of the house, one by one, along with Heat and Eternal. The only one left… was Inferno's faithful lady. “Sunset? You know what I said.” Fleur said to the young lady. Sunset didn’t respond, but she gave a pleading look towards the celebrity model and her husband; pleading them for her to stay. Fleur and Magnus could see the desperation in Sunset’s eyes; they knew how close she was to their son, and how heartbroken she was when he left town. And now that he was here, she didn’t want to part from him again. Soon Fleur and Magnus gave in. “Oh, alright, you can stay here, dear.” Fleur said in defeat, but she gave a warm smile towards the young lady. “We’ll have Bristle show you to one of our guest rooms.” Magnus offered. "Umm… if it's alright with you… I'd… like to spend the night… in your son's room… with your son… i-if that's ok." Sunset said, blushing. “Uh, I don’t know if that’s…” Magnus spoke for a bit before he was interrupted by his wife. “Sure thing, darling. Just you two don’t fool around up there, ok?” Fleur said, while giving Sunset a teasing look on her face. "O-Oh, of course not! I'll make sure. Thank you," Sunset replied, as she then made her way up the stairs. "Honey, are you sure?" Magnus asked. “It's been two years since they last saw each other. And besides, we both know that Sunset is more capable of calming our son down on a bad day.” Fleur proclaimed. "Well… I suppose you're right." Magnus sighs. As she made it up to the 2nd floor, Sunset then calmly walked along the hallways, passing every room until she arrived at the door that led to Inferno’s bedroom. "Baby, it's me," Sunset called out, knocking on his door. "Mind if I come in?" All she heard was silence from her side of the door, until she heard Inferno’s voice unsteadily replied back. “The doors unlocked.” He said. That gave Sunset confirmation to enter. And so she opens the door and she calmly and cautiously enters the bedroom. Upon entering, she could see the silhouette of Inferno’s body laying on his bed, facing towards the window in his bedroom. He lay there still, silent, and without a doubt, empty. Sunset approaches her gloomy lover after closing the door and sits at his bedside. She tenderly rubs him while trying to comfort him. "I'm sorry. You didn't deserve to hear all that. Would you like me to cuddle next to you?" she offered, still tenderly rubbing him through the blankets. Inferno gave quiet muttering sounds before he quietly said: “sure”. Sunset's face got more heated, but was glad to know he was allowing her permission. She goes and gets under the blankets with Inferno and snuggles up to him. The two said nothing for a while and allowed their eyes to close shut and let slumber take over as the reunited couple fell asleep. The Next Morning. It is now 4:35 A.M and both Eternal Flames and Israel Yabuki had both left their houses, all dressed up in their jumpsuits. Both boys only had a piece of fruit for breakfast and are now meeting up at the park to start their roadwork. The jog took about 10 minutes and once both fighters/rivals met, there was a long silence in the air as they stared at each other. "You nearly got your head chewed off yesterday. What were you thinking?" Eternal asked. "My best friend gets a swollen head, then gets his ass handed to him and he disappears for 2 years, only to be found as a hollow shell. He not only had me worried, but he pissed me off for acting like a child and running with his tail between his legs." Israel replied with a harsh glare. "Look, I admit, he made an amateur mistake, but flying off the handle like that and rubbing it in his face doesn't help anyone!" Eternal scolded. "Well, I'm sorry. But the world of boxing is not so friendly. He should've been prepared!" Israel said, slightly turning to the side. "And I'm guessing you're gonna scold him some more?" Eternal asked, folding his arms. "No. Let him sulk. I'll force his fighting spirit to come back… once you and I get in the ring." Israel said, making Eternal blink in surprise. "And look… we may have been friends for a long time, but I don't want you to hold anything back. One of us has to win this and show him we're not just fighting for a stupid title, but for him." "Heh… for once, I agree with you. But just be careful with what you say to him next time. You should really apologize for getting under his skin," Eternal replied. "And another thing… Bring back the old Israel Yabuki… the goofball you like to bring people together with his wacky, happy personality." "I'll… try." Yabuki nods. "Come on, it's roadwork time." After exchanging their words, they spoke nothing else and started jogging down their usual path, pacing themselves. They jogged around the park 5 times. The park was at least 1.5 miles long, so they got a pretty good workout. They kept their steady pace for all 4 of their rounds, then on the 5th one, they sped up, putting much more effort and pushing their remaining stamina to the limit. After finishing their roadwork, they headed off into the park near a big, grassy area where they began their next training regiment: 100 push-ups, sit-ups and squats. The two fighters began with push-ups, Eternal having no trouble since he's used to them. Israel does fine at first, but after the first 25… he begins to fall behind, yet he keeps pushing himself, not wanting to quit. His muscles were aching, but he blocked it out and kept pushing. Eventually, Eternal was the first to finish his pushups while Israel struggles and completes his 100th pushup before collapsing. That’s a strong, determined mofo. Now, it was onto the sit-ups, one of Israel's specialties. Having a lighter upper torso made it easy for Israel to keep a steady rhythm and build up strong abdominal muscles. Eternal, on the other hand, this is what he struggles with since his upper torso was bulky and lacked some of the flexibility, so it takes him longer to do sit-ups. Both of these boys were working up a nice sweat, feeling the burn in their bodies. Ironically, Israel managed to finish his sit-ups before Eternal, then waited for him to finish. Just like Israel struggled with his last push-up, Eternal struggled with his final sit-up. But like any strong fighter, he pushed past his limit and finished. Finally, it was time for the squats. The boys, with newfound energy, thanks to the awakened endorphins in their bodies, started doing their squats, bending their legs forward, ducking down, then pushing themselves back up at remarkable speeds. They were so focused on their training, they hardly recognized the sun barely coming into view. Meanwhile, back at the Blaze household, Bristle Wing was in the kitchen prepping the ingredients for today's breakfast, humming a calm, melodious tune. Last night's dispute was quite a conundrum. While he had no knowledge of what happened with master Inferno and his companions, it sure was enough to bring wrath from Fleur De Lis herself. And honestly, Bristle had never seen Madame Fleur be so furious for as long as he worked for her. Although, he doesn’t condone madam’s actions that night. Her son had returned after two years of exile and all he wanted was just to ease his traumatic experience all those years ago. And whatever his friends told him, did nothing to help ease that trauma. And who knows how long it will take for Inferno to return to his former self; if he even wants to return back to his normal self. Well perhaps an exquisite breakfast would ease the tensions from last night. And on cue, Inferno and Sunset were walking down the stairs and made their way into the kitchen after leaving Inferno’s bedroom. The couple were holding hands and Sunset leaning her head on Inferno’s shoulder. The two didn’t talk much about last night, believing that it wasn’t the best time to talk about it. Sunset tries her best to show Inferno that she supports him and is there for him. But to Inferno, her being by his side and holding his hand, was all he really needed. "Good morning, Master Inferno and Miss Shimmer. Did you both enjoy a goodnight sleep?" Bristle asked. “Yes, we did, Bristle.” Sunset replied. “Be sure to give my gratitude to Mrs. Fleur and Mr.Magnus for letting me stay the night.” "Of course. Although, would you care to stay for breakfast? I'm making omelets with hash browns and sausage links." Bristle offered. “Oh I don’t…” Inferno was about to make an excuse, but Sunset wasn’t gonna let him. “We would love to, thank you, Bristle.” Sunset proclaimed as she urged, or gently pulled, Inferno towards the dining room table. “But I got some things to-” Inferno tries to protest, but there’s one thing that he knows, and that's to never argue with Sunset. “Inferno, you went through a lot these past 2 years, and last night added more weight onto you. So you are gonna sit down and enjoy your breakfast. Or otherwise, I will have to call up Pinkie.” Sunset tells him straight to his face with a concern and stern expression on her face. Inferno’s eyes widened when Pinkie was mentioned. Why, though? Well, whenever one of their friends in their group has something they don’t want to discuss or are too stubborn to say or do. Well they bring out the BIG gun; Pinkie. And nothing on this god given earth is more tormenting than hearing Pinkie talking nonsense for hours upon hours. Without any protest, Inferno willingly did what Sunset requested and sat down at the table. "I'm… not sure what that's all about, but all in all, I'll have two big plates ready for you two. It's so nice to have you back, Master Inferno." Bristle said, putting the finishing touches on the food. With Bristle busy finishing up cooking, Sunset decided to scooch up closer to her boyfriend. "Hey babe, what do you say after breakfast, we go for a nice walk around town? Just the two of us and no one else?" she offered. “Yeah… Sure. It would be nice to see around the old town. See if things had changed while I was gone.” Inferno replied. "That's the spirit," Sunset said, hugging him before kissing him on the cheek. "Say, why don't we see what's new on TV? Bristle, where's the remote?" "It's on the coffee table. Go on, have at it," Bristle said. Sunset got up from her seat and went into the living room and grabbed the remote. She turned on the TV and it showed the morning news report. "... Last night's bout was by far the most thrilling experience anyone has seen in boxing. After Eternal Flames made quick work of speed star, Adrenaline, he's now secured himself a spot in the finals for a chance at the Light Heavyweight Championship belt, right next to another upcoming star, Israel Yabuki. Who’s racked up 10 wins in a row this year, all 10 of them by knockout, adding on to his 16-0 record, one of the perfect records in this sport.” The reporter explained. Inferno was rather impressed by Israel’s record. You can say he felt sort of proud. His best friend and his other friend had truly made names for themselves and have risen to the top since he had left two years ago. “I just hope things work out in the end.” Sunset commented, which had Inferno curious of what she meant. Sunset knows that the two won’t back out from this one-time chance, even if they have to go against each other. She just hopes that this doesn’t ruin their friendship. Even Rarity and Fluttershy both shared the same feelings. Then the reporter went on in their broadcast. “And these two light-heavyweight fighters will be duking it out for the chance to fight in the Light-Heavyweight Title Bout. Don't miss it, the Fiery Fists of Fury vs the Brawling Berserker. The battle for the chance to fight for it all. And the winner of this bout will face off against the reigning light-heavyweight champion of the world, the Spirit Breaker, the Iron King of fighters… Steel Mane.” Time froze for Inferno, his whole body felt cold as ice, his hands started to shake, his mind was going haywire. He felt paralyzed and unable to utter a single word. He could hear Sunset speaking to him, but she fell deaf to the constant ringing that rang in his ears. He felt powerless… he felt hollow…he felt fear. "Baby? Baby, are you okay?" Sunset asked, running back to her boyfriend. She shook him lightly to see if he was alright. Then later the flashbacks appeared again in his mind, bashing at his sanity and booming in his mind like cannonballs. He could remember the pain, the heavy blows, and his bones breaking. It was all too much for him, so much so that he soon collapsed out of his chair. Sunset then reacted fast and caught Inferno in her arms. "Inferno! Inferno, what's wrong? Speak to me!" she panicked. Bristle soon heard the commotion, looked over and noticed the young master had collapsed. "Oh dear! Quick, let's put him over on the couch!" he suggested. The butler helped his master's girlfriend pick him up and carried him over to the big couch, laying him down gently. “What happened?!” Bristle asked the young lady while he checked to see if Inferno had sustained any bruises or injuries. Luckily, he was unharmed. "I'm not sure. He was just fine until…" Sunset paused and gasped in realization. "...Until he heard that name on the news." "Name? What name?" Bristle asked.. “The name of the guy who did this to him.” Sunset stated, not wanting to even say that asshole’s name herself. Bristle was confused about what she meant, at first. But after his thoughts were processed, he then realized what she meant. “...Oh.” Was all he could say. Steel Mane. The fighter that took Inferno’s light-heavyweight title… And broke his fighting spirit in the process. The Blaze family hoped to never hear of him again, and hoped that some other fighter would put him in his place. But it would seem that Steel continued to hold the title for these past two years. Sunset knows how much that last fight Inferno had, broke him more than any fighter would. She had seen Inferno face many strong fighters, even some that could force fighters to retire. But Inferno always came out on top. But Steel was not like any opponent that he faced, and he lost to him. And knowing that either Israel or Eternal would have to fight the same guy that beat Inferno if either of them wins; brought fear and concern to Sunset’s conscience. Because no matter the outcome… blood will spill. And one of Inferno's friends might not come back from this… ever. At least… mentally. Meanwhile, back at Celestia's humble abode, she and her husband were in the kitchen, with her all decked in her purple tank top and matching sweats, cooking up breakfast while her husband drank coffee at the table, watching the news. He wore his blue work suit, necktie and hair slick back. Their youngest son, Heat, was still asleep since he doesn't have class until 11 A.M. Just one of the perks of being a college student. "Have you noticed, honey? Since our boys have been busy with college and boxing, it's become less and less noisy around here," Celestia pointed out. "Isn't that a good thing, honey?" Blaze asked. "Yes, but… after a couple of years, I… kinda miss this place being so loud and lively." Celestia said as she flipped a flapjack from her pan. "I know, honey. But our boys have grown up. It was bound to happen eventually. Though, I do admit, I kinda miss having Eternal and Heat around when I needed him." Blaze said. "Sometimes, I'd miss them having their little squabbles." "Which resulted in me having to punish our oldest boy since he's bigger and stronger." Celestia said, recalling the few times she grounded Eternal in his younger days. "And at one point he refused to speak to you because you kept targeting him for punishment. How long did he stay in his room without coming out unless it was for dinner and school?" Blaze Burn asked. "6 months," Celestia said. "Yeah… that's ONE hell of a grudge he held. I kinda expected it to be even longer, especially with his stubbornness.” Blaze Burn commented. “Where’d he inherit that I wonder?” Celestia responded while eyeing at her husband with a smug face. "You know me, he handles his business the way I handle mine with the board of directors." Blaze pointed out. "Well, one thing's for certain… he certainly made me reach my breaking point. I can't believe I promised him I'd stop "targeting" him if he stops quarreling with Heat." Celestia said. “Well, it sounds like he has his old man’s negotiation skills.” Blaze Burn proclaimed while chuckling to himself. "Yeah… my two babies… all grown up. Now I have all this spare time and I dunno what to do with it… unless you have some ideas," Tia hinted at her hubby with a wink. "Well… since you put it that way… I'll see to it that we book a place for next week and enjoy some "you and me" time." Blaze said, catching on. “Well… I'm most certainly looking forward to it.” Tia responded, eagerly. The married couple then shared a hug right before they shared a few kisses, some were even passionate. "Really?” They heard a familiar voice spoken to them, which caused the two married adults to break their kissing session and turn towards the archway that leads out of the kitchen and into the living room; and there stood Heat Blitz. “You're gonna swap spit the moment I wake up to the smell of breakfast?" Heat commented while he was scratching an itch near his left rib cage. “Uh Uh…” Tia tried to say something, but couldn’t think of what to say. “W-We were just… Uhhhh…” Even Blaze tried to find something to say, but failed as well. "I know, I know. So, what's on today's agenda? The usual?" Heat asked. “As usual and boring as it gets, son.” Blaze replied to his son’s question. "What about you, what's on your agenda today?" "I have a big project the professor wants me to work on. He's setting up a little practice session for me and someone having issues. He wants me to document everything we discuss and report it back to him privately." Heat explained. "Ah, so my boy's running his first crash course. Proud o' ya, kiddo.," Blaze said. "I hope you pass this. Hey, on your way to the University, could you do me a big favor? Your older brother forgot his lunch again and I don't want him to go hungry after his excessive workout session." Celestia said. "Sure, I'll make sure he gets it. Where's his lunch?" Heat asked. "In the fridge." she pointed out. "Alright. You can count on me. So, whatcha got cookin’ up today?" Heat asked. "Some blueberry flapjacks with bacon and eggs." Celestia replied. “Oh, nothing on this god-given Earth can cook pancakes better than your mother.” Blaze Burn commented heartedly, recalling the many times he ate his wife’s delicious pancakes. “I even took some with me to work for lunch… I even had to strangle a co-worker when they tried to steal it from me.” "Uh… wouldn't that result in a lawsuit? Couldn't you just warn them not to do it and threaten to fire them if they tried to take your lunch again?" Heat asked. "Are you kidding me? When it comes to your mom's home cooking, NO ONE touches it except her and her family.” Blaze responded in defense. “And besides, turns out, he wasn’t actually an employee of the business,” he commented. “What?” Tia said in response. “Really? Who was the guy?” Heat asked out of curiosity. “I’m not sure… yet. The police are still investigating.” Blaze answered, and left it at that. "Huh… Did you even have any idea what he even looked like?" Heat asked. "No clue. But he DID have this pudgy build and was probably around your height. I couldn’t possibly tell, cause i had my arm around his neck and he was screaming: “UNCLE! UNCLE!”.” Blaze commented. "I see. Well, if they find him, hopefully he'll get his just desserts," Heat replied. “Oh he’s already arrested, he couldn’t escape cause I had him in a chokehold.” Blaze proclaimed. “What caused you not to let go, honey?” Celestia asked. Blaze looked at his wife with a look that could kill. “He ate my pancake.” He spoke with venom in his tone of voice. Then he cleared his throat, as a gesture to change the conversation. “Well, I best head off to work.” He stated. "Heh, wow… Now I see where Eternal gets his violent side," Heat chuckles. “Oh don’t you forget, young man. I also provide my violent side as well.” Celestia responded with a sassy tone. She then comes over to Heat, giving him a plate of her delicious blueberry flapjacks, setting it on the table. "Now go on and eat up. You'll need your strength for today." "Alright. Thanks, mom." Heat replies before getting down to eating. Then Celestia walks over to her husband and the two share one last kiss before he finally leaves for work. “You have a good day, honey.” Tia said to wish him luck. “You too, honey.” He replied back with a smile. And with that Blaze Burn left the kitchen and towards the front door, Celestia and Heat could know he had left by the sound of the front door opening and closing. Followed by his car engine starting up and zooming off into the city. Meanwhile, after having recovered from his second anxiety attack since last night, Inferno still takes up Sunset’s offer earlier, and the two were strolling through town together. It was a peaceful activity for Inferno, being able to relive some good memories in the places he’s been to in his hometown, and it got his mind off his panic attack this morning. And that's Sunset's intentions at the moment. She was still shaken up from her boyfriend’s panic attack, feeling heavily concerned for him. Wondering if he’s still shaken up from his last fight two years ago. She had a feeling that he wasn’t fully recovered these past two years; and she fears that if he’s not given time to take things slow and steady, his condition may get worse. She just hopes that this nice, quiet stroll along the sidewalks of town would put his mind at ease. "Gotta love that fresh air, huh babe?" Sunset asked. Inferno was silently observing the buildings of the town, reminiscing old memories and breathing that good ole’ Canterlot air. “Yeah… I sure do.” Inferno replied as he wrapped his arm around Sunset’s back and held her close. Showing his appreciation for her showing around the old town. Sunset smiled by the gesture and leaned her head against his shoulder as the two kept walking along the sidewalk. "You know, Inferno… I still have that gift you gave me for my birthday 2 years ago. I've never taken it off… unless I was showering. But I never stopped thinking about you the whole time you disappeared." Sunset then pulls out a beautiful necklace from her shirt. It was a silver chain necklace with a locket that displayed a picture of her and Inferno sharing their first kiss. Inferno admired the picture, smiling warmly while remembering that day very clearly. Recalling the two of them standing on the small brick bridge at Canterlot Park, it was before dawn rose. The stars were shining, a shooting star passed by in the night sky, and the two waited for the sun to rise. It was such a beautiful moment, that the two of them fell into each other’s trances and shared their first kiss. Tears threatened to escape Inferno’s eyes from that warm memory. It was the one good moment of his life. It was never rivaled by any good memory he had, especially all his wins as a pro boxer. That was truly a great memory. So much so, it put his mind more at ease. "You know… it's been a while since we've been to that special place. What do you say we revisit the park? Relive that memory all over again?" Sunset asked. Inferno turned to face her, with his smile becoming wider as he did. “Yeah… I would love that.” He said. "Great! Follow me," Sunset tugged on her boyfriend's arm and guided him off into the direction of the park. The young couple arrives there in just 10 minutes and make their way to that special spot they visited that fateful day. Upon arriving, the memories of that fateful day came rushing back into their minds. Inferno will never forget that day. A couple of years back, before he became a boxer, it was around that time Sunset was barely redeeming herself. It was after they beat the Dazzlings in the Battle of the Bands and saved their school. Sunset had asked Inferno to meet her in the park that day. She poured her feelings out to him, saying how grateful she was when he gave her a chance at friendship, even when all others were against her. Especially after that… that awful Anon-a-miss incident. It was because of his kind heart that she fell in love with him. And when she confessed… Inferno confessed back, saying he had feelings for her as well. Then he sealed the deal by saying seven words that she’ll never forget; “My heart will always belong to you”. And once both of them knew how they truly felt for each other, nothing could stop them from embracing each other under the beautiful night sky, with the moon as their witness and a shooting star passing by into the night. Inferno and Sunset will never forget that night. "Would you look at this? Even in the daytime, it's still as beautiful as I remember. Don't you think, Inferno?" "Sure, but the real beautiful one here is… you, Sunset," Inferno replied. "Aww, thanks, babe." Sunset blushed. "You know… I still remember the song I sang to you before I confessed to you. Do you remember?" "How could I forget? You sounded like an angel." Inferno replied. "Maybe I still do. Wanna hear again?" she asked. Inferno simply nodded. Sunset then took in a deep breath and sang out her beautiful melody. As her soft, angelic voice rang out, everything around them seemed to shine and sparkle. The birds in the trees sang, flapping their wings and flying around the couple before taking off. A gentle breeze brushes by, causing some of the tree leaves to fall off their branches and flow with the wind. If anything, this entire moment was way more magical than any spell Equestria had to offer. Inferno never took his eyes off his shimmer sunshine of a girlfriend, smiling brightly as she kept singing to him. It doesn't take long before he holds her close and sways with her in sync with her song. Love has taken over these two all over again. Their hearts racing and beating as one. Their love for each other has once again spread their wings and taken flight. After she finishes her song, the two share a passionate kiss under the warm rays of the sun. "Still as beautiful as I remember," Inferno commented. “So does that mean I still hold a place in your heart?” Sunset asked. Inferno chuckled heartily and said; “My heart will always belong to you.” Sunset's entire body felt warm and fuzzy upon hearing him say that again. She hugs him one last time and nuzzles into his chest. Inferno glady shared his embrace in return, as his head rested on hers as he held her close and had no intentions of letting go; never again. Meanwhile, with a certain egghead who's currently doing her college homework in her room, Twilight receives a notification on her phone. She puts down her textbooks and checks her phone for a second. She notices it's a group text and pulls it up. She sees a picture of Sunset and Inferno hugging each other in the park. "Aww… isn't that just the sweetest thing?" she asked, loving the picture. Over with Rainbow Dash, who's arrived at her job 10 minutes early, she's currently looking at the group text. A part of her wants to make barf noises since she's not much of a "mushy romance" type of girl, but another part of her is proud they're still together. She even replies in the group text. "Someone tell those two to get a room. Lol.” she typed as a joke. And over with Rarity, who's managing her shop, she notices the text and puts in lots of heart emojis before texting in "It's like a fairy tale come to life. So romantic." “Romantic schmantic.” Rainbow typed in reply with a tongue-out emoji. "Typical Dash, always pokin' fun at anythin' mushy," Applejack typed in reply. "It's so nice seeing you two so happy together," Fluttershy typed. "YIPPEE!!! I see a smile on his face, too!" Pinkie typed in. “Looks like we’re slowly getting our old Inferno back.” Twilight typed in the group chat. "That's one set of good news. But it's still gonna take some time before he gets his fighting spirit completely." Sunset typed. “But will he want to go back to fighting? I mean he did have two years to think about it.” Fluttershy questioned through text. "He will, eventually. He just needs the right kind of motivation. Rarity, Fluttershy, your boyfriends are gonna be fighting eventually, right?" Sunset asked through text. “Oh please don’t remind me darling. I’m still trying to not think about it until the day comes. I am deeply concerned about how this might change my flaming prince.” Rarity typed her thoughts. "Me neither. This fight and so many others have changed my goofy boyfriend and now all he thinks about is how to beat his next foe. I want my old Yabuki back," Fluttershy texted in reply. “Ah’ see ya both are mighty concerned for the two boys, but we won’t know fer sure what the outcome will be.” Applejack stated in text. "I don't wanna sound insensitive, but with the way they are now… there's gonna be blood spilt in that ring." Rainbow texted. “Ok! Ok! Let's take our minds off that for a moment and focus on something else for the time being. Sounds okay for everyone?” Twilight typed in response to everyone’s concerns. There was a long pause in the group chat until the rest of the girls replied in response. “Yeah sure.” Rainbow typed. “Ah’ agree.” AJ typed. "Alright, umm… Rainbow Dash, how's the whole saving up to buy a gym coming along?" Rarity asked through text. "So far, with a little extra effort and about 5 to 10 overtimes, and tolerance for annoying customers, I've saved up to almost 10 grand. I still had to pay rent since I still live with my mom and dad." Rainbow explained in the chat. “So how close to your goal, Dashie?” Pinkie asked in text. “Well…” A long pause after Dash sent that before she typed another response. “I’m about 5 grand short. But it's closer than I ever got in two years.” Rainbow texted. "I see. Well, if you ever need any help from us, let us know and we'll have your side." Sunset assured in the text. “Thanks guys. I appreciate it very much.” Rainbow texted. “So did you have any other customers touch your bun buns today.” Pinkie texted with a smiley face emoji. Likely doing this as a tease. Then the rest of the girls posted laughing face emojis after her text. “I SHOULD HAVE NEVER TOLD YOU ABOUT THAT INCIDENT!!!” Rainbow texted with an angry emoji at the end. “But ya did.” AJ texted in reply, with a laughing emoji. "And you gotta admit, you do have a fine tushie," Pinkie texted. Then she added another text message soon after. “Don’t ya agree, Fluttershy?” With both a raised eyebrow and smirking emojis at the end. "Oh, umm… hehe… s-s-sure. Yay," Fluttershy texted. There was a short pause in the chat group before Rainbow sent a flustered emoji in response to Fluttershy’s text message. “Wow, seriously, get a room, you two.” Sunset texted with a smirk emoji. Then followed a bunch of laughing emojis from the other girls while both Fluttershy and Rainbow sent flustered emojis. And with that last laugh, the girls decided to end the group chat and go about their day. Once the chat had ended, Twilight continued chuckling from that funny moment she had, which made her deeply glad to have friends like the girls. Once she calmed down, and her mind cleared, she soon got back to her college homework for the rest of the day.
Chapter 1 - The Return of a Former ChampBoxing, a fine sport people love to watch.
