Cormorant's End

They were outnumbered, Cerise knew it. They had found the cache months ago after their jumpship misfired its course, the system they arrived in existing in utter defiance of all the science they knew, a small sun orbitting around a planet and moon. On the surface of the world below, a signal trace beckoned them in to the northern tundras on the edge of great mountains. A cache of ancient Star League relics, they had rejoiced, even in misfortune they had found the tools of their salvation, or so they thought. They deployed to the surface, scouring the ruins, finding the bunker, and set up shop to repair their damaged 'mechs and dropships.

They had been fools, grown complacent with their seeming good fortune, and now, they would die here, in the frozen wastes, buried under the onslaught of shadows. Death was coming, and it would not be stayed... Even as she accepted the inevitability of their coming fate, she raged against its coming. They would not go quietly. The Cormorants would bite and bleed what came for them until the end.

MechWarrior/BattleTech crossover

this is the product of rewatching 'The Crystal Empire', playing too much MechWarrior 5 and BTS BattleTech, and a caffeine binge over the course of several days. More chapters may come if inspiration strikes.

This shouldn't be taken too seriously.
