A simple visit to the human world has Twilight struggling to stay afloat as she's swept up in the aftermath of the cataclysm that occurred while she was away.

The mountains of dead stir and writhe in the city streets, seeking out anyone who's left and anything that can be raised as one of them, human or not. Meanwhile, reality buckles under the forces that have afflicted it, allowing interdimensional aliens and horrors from beyond the veil to turn earth into a hotspot of all things unnatural. What little normalcy may have survived this has been perverted by mutations that have afflicted a large portion of all wildlife, and just to make matters worse, the robots of the late mankind don't seem to be able to tell the living and dead apart, and aren't much interested in learning.

Anything that could have gone wrong has not only gone wrong, but gone spectacularly wrong in ways no one could have foreseen. The whole world's gone stark-raving mad.

For as confusing and unclear as things seem, however, Twilight's objectives have never been clearer: find her friends, protect them at all costs, and make her way back home.
