Some new energy for Rainbow Dash
Prologue
On the outskirts of San Diego there was an abandoned warehouse. It looked like any old warehouse and most people who drove past it didn't pay much attention to it. But since a couple of months back there has been some activity on the inside.
The warehouse was badly lit, except in the area where two scientists were working on a machine unlike any other. David yawned and pulled his phone out of his pocket. He pushed one of the buttons on it and the screen lit up.
“11:17 pm. Soon time to leave,” he said to himself and walked over to his colleague. “Hey, Bruce, are you done yet?”
“Yeah, in a moment, I have to dial in the coordinates first,” replied Bruce.
“Okay,” said David and sat down on a chair and grabbed a Snickers. He let his mind drift of to other things.
“And done!” yelled Bruce, startling David.
The two scientists packed their things and began to leave. “Is everything set for tomorrow?” asked David. “Yes, we'll only have to push 'start' and the machine will do the rest.” said Bruce and turned off the lights as they walked out the door. David closed the door and locked it.
30 minutes later...
Eric stood outside the door, trying to find the right key to it. After a minute or so, he found the key and unlocked the door. When he got inside he flicked the light switch and the warehouse was filled with light. Eric thought cleaning was boring and it felt like it would take forever to get finished, so in order to make the task a little more enjoyable he put a pair of headphones in his ears, pulled his iPod out and started playing one of his playlists. He then grabbed a mop and began cleaning the area around the machine which he was assigned to. Music almost always made Eric dance and now was no exception.
The dancing cleaner was almost done in no time at all, he only had the area in front of the control panel left. He made a few swift moves and completed the task. While reaching for his iPod to turn the music off, he leaned the shaft of the mop against the control panel. When he did this, he accidentally pressed a button labeled “random”. Unaware of what he just did, Eric put the mop where he got it and left the warehouse.
Later, the next day...
Looking out from one of the warehouses few windows, David could see vans from various TV-channels flood the parking lot. He saw reporters, photographers and other people unloading equipment out of the vans. Muffled shouts could be heard through the thin walls. Meanwhile, Bruce was preparing for the demonstration that would be held within the next hour. He put up cordoning-tape around the machine to prevent anyone except him and David getting near the machine.
Just as Bruce was done, it knocked on the door and multiple people entered the warehouse. After a few “welcomes,” the film crews lined up around the machine and began recording their intros.
“Hello! My name is Steve Burrows and I'm reporting from a warehouse just outside San Diego, where Bruce Henderson and David Smith will demonstrate their 'Teleporter 114',” said one of the reporters. The rest of the intros were similar.
When all the intros was done, Bruce and David entered the area within the cordoning-tape and the cameras faced them, following every move they made. As Bruce looked around the room, he could see small red lights blinking on top of the cameras, indicating that they were recording.
“Okay, this is it,” he thought.
“Today is a big day, today, I, Bruce Henderson and my colleague David Smith will for the first time in human history demonstrate the art of 'teleporting'.”
As Bruce said “teleporting”, he gave David a nudge and he pulled out a box of Red Bull out of a refrigerator standing beside him. He placed it on a table in front of where the teleporter was pointing and then stood beside Bruce again.
“From what we've discovered, the boundaries of our machine are non-existent, but to prove that it actually works, we will teleport the box from here to there,” Bruce said, pointing at the box and then towards the end of the room.
He turned to the control panel and so did David.
“Let's do this!” He yelled as they pushed 'start'.
A loud humming sound filled the room. After a couple of seconds a flash from the beam of light that hit the box as it vanished.
Everyone in the room expected the box to appear again very soon. But it didn't. The expression on Bruce's face told David that something wasn't quite right. Five minutes went by and one of the reporters spoke up;
“Where is the box!? I call hoax!”
With that everyone packed their stuff and left the warehouse. Except Bruce and David since the apparent failure left them stunned in their places. They sat themselves down on a sofa.
“I.. I.. I don't understand! How could this happen!?” said Bruce in a distraught tone while fighting the tears in his eyes.
“I honestly don't know.” said David, Just as confused as his colleague.
Meanwhile, in a totally different location...

On a cloud in the skies above Ponyville, Rainbow Dash was taking a nap that she wouldn't forget in a long time. She slept with a big grin across her muzzle. Once again she dreamed about flying for the Wonderbolts.
Been dreaming, I've been waiting.
To fly with those great ponies.

Perform for crowds of *BA-BOOM* thousaAAAAH!!
She was jolted awake by a deafening noise and felt something bulky landing on her back.
“Oof! What the hay is going on!?” she exclaimed and quickly turned her head around to see some sort of box resting on her back.
*sigh* “Great, another of Derpy's misplaced deliveries... wait a minute... that sounded like a Sonic Rainboom... and nopony but me can perform one!”
She freed herself from her imprisonment under the box with a swift buck, making it stand alone on the cloud as she hovered beside it. As the pegasus suspected, Ponyville's mailmare wasn't in the vicinity of the cloud.
“Soo, seems like Derpy is innocent here... this is now officially weird and creepy.”
Rainbow Dash flew closer to the cloud and began to inspect the box. It looked like any other box, except that something had been written on top of the lid. “Red.. Bull..?” said Dash as she read the text. This made her even more confused.
“I think I need to get some answers.”
“Maybe the egghead can give me some...” she muttered, putting her hooves on the cloud and guiding it down towards Ponyville library.
Upon arriving at the library, Rainbow Dash gasped at the sight of shattered windows, multiple branches on the ground and a demolished telescope on top of the now broken sign beside the entrance.
“What the hay happened here? I better check if Twilight is alright...”
She trotted to the door and knocked.
*Knock-knock*
No response.
She knocked again, but with more force.
*KNOCK-KNOCK*
“Who is it?” said Spike on the other side.
“It's me, Rainbow Dash!”
“SPIKE! WHO IS IT!?” yelled Twilight from her bedroom.
“IT'S RAINBOW DASH!”
“OKAY! I'M COMING DOWN!”
A seemingly calm Twilight trotted down the stairs, while looking around at the mess that was her library.
“Spike, clean this mess up while I speak to her.”
“Will do, ma'am!” said Spike with a salute and ran away.
“What would I do without you, number one assistant?” said Twilight with a chuckle.
The door finally opened in front of Rainbow Dash and Twilight trotted out.
“Rainbow Dash! Just the pony I wanted to talk to!” said Twilight in a happy and slightly sarcastic tone.
“What a coincidence...”
“How so?”
Twilight's expression suddenly changed from happy to furious as she tackled Rainbow Dash to the ground.
“ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR BUCKIN' MIND!?”
“Wha... what..?”
“DON'T PLAY DUMB! WHAT THE HAY WERE YOU THINKING!?”
“T.. Twi...”
“I'M BORED, LET'S WREAK SOME HAVOC BY SETTING OFF A SONIC RAINBOOM ABOVE PONYVILLE!” Twilight breathed in more air and continued. “WAS THAT WHAT YOU WERE THINKING!?”
“No.”
“Whaaat?”
“I said, 'no'.”
“What were you thinking then!?”
“I can't believe I'm the one saying this...”
“Simmer the hay down and let me explain, Twilight, please?”
*sigh* “Okay then, just because you said the magical word.”
“Thank you. Firstly, although I'm not the brightest pony around and I do a lot of loony things, I would never do something like that. Secondly, do you see any rainbows in the sky?” said Rainbow Dash, pointing at the sky.
Twilight was dumbfounded when she looked up and no rainbows could be seen. She released Rainbow Dash and then helped her up.
“Eh.. he.. he.. I'm sorry, Dash...” said Twilight awkwardly.
“It's alright Twilight, I almost expected you to blame me.”
“Okay... But why are you here?”
“Well, I'm here because I know a little more about what caused this mess than you.”
“You do?”
“Hay yeah! The Awesome Rainbow Dash even has a suspect!” she boasted and pointed at the cloud.
“What? The cloud?”
Rainbow Dash just glared at Twilight with a “Really? Really Twilight?” look on her face.
“No, featherbrain, it's what's on it!”
Twilight looked back at the cloud and saw the box. “Oh!” she said and facehoofed.
“What happened then?”
“To make a long story short, I was napping, that big bang happened, that box landed on my back, it confused me, I needed answers and now I'm here.” said Rainbow Dash.
“Well, you've come to the right place for that. Let's take it in and see if we can get some!”
Twilight's horn lit up and a purple aura engulfed it and the box as she levitated it off the cloud and carried it into the library. Rainbow Dash followed short and bucked the cloud away. In the library, Spike hadn't come far with the cleaning, loads of books was still scattered on the floor, multiple bottles of ink had been smashed to pieces and a couple of quills had been destroyed by a plant pot.
“Take a break, Spike, we have something to investigate.” said Twilight as she placed the box on a table in the middle of the room.
“Thank Celestia!”
“What was that?” said Twilight, pretending to be angry and raised her hoof above Spike.
“Uh... Nothing!”
“Good!” said Twilight and began ruffling Spike's spikes.
“Twilight, stop it!” pleaded Spike.
“Not until you say the magical word.”
“Abracadabra?”
Twilight chuckled. “No, silly, the other one!”
“Please?”
“Yes, that's it!” said Twilight and stopped ruffling Spike's spikes.
From Rainbow Dash's point of view, the scene looked very funny and couldn't do anything than laugh her flank off.
“BWAA HA HA HA!”
“I love doing that.” said Twilight.
“And I hate it when she does that.” said Spike and crossed his arms.
Twilight ignored him.
“Let's get to work, shall we?” she said.
“He he, yeah.” responded Rainbow Dash.
The two mares and dragon turned to the table where the box now stood. Twilight approached it and made the same observations as Rainbow Dash did earlier. “Red Bull? What's that? Shouldn't it say Red Bulls? There's two of them after all...” Twilight drifted off.
“Duh! That's why I came here in the first place, remember!?” said Rainbow Dash in a slightly annoyed tone.
“Right... have you opened it, Rainbow?”
“No, I thought it might be something dangerous in it.”
“I thought you weren't scared of anything.” Twilight teased.
“I.. I.. I'm not, but I don't know where it came from or what's in it!?” Rainbow Dash blurted.
“If it makes you feel safer I can put up a forcefield around it.”
“Please do that.”
“Okay.”
Twilight backed away from the table and once she thought the distance was safe her horn lit up once again and suddenly a purple forcefield was formed around the box. She then slowly lifted the lid in case there actually was something dangerous in it. Nothing happened and the lid was opened all the way, revealing an envelope that was taped to the back of the lid. Twilight withdrew the forcefield and brought the envelope to her. She opened it and took out the letter that was inside it. The curiosity got the better of her and she began reading it out loud.
“To whom may read this,
The box which this letter is sent with was part of a demonstration to prove that teleportation is possible. If anybody reads this, then it has worked but the box has somehow not arrived at it's intended destination. As you may have noticed, it contains Red Bull, an energy drink that contains innocuous ingredients and is harmless if consumed in sparing amounts. It improves e.g. the level of ones concentration, mental and physical performance. It is very popular and it is therefore the reason to why we chose to teleport it in case something went wrong. Which it has.
Consider it as a gift from us to you, whoever 'you' are.

Please don't invade us!”
Everyone in the room looked at each other in astonishment from what they just read and heard.
“It seems like those 'humans' sent something perfect for you two.” said Spike.
“What do you mean, Spike?” said a confused Rainbow Dash.
“Well, Twilight does an awful lot of late night studying, and sometimes coffee isn't enough. And since you fly a lot without resting, thus making yourself tired. Plus, you both look quite tired at the moment.”
Twilight and Rainbow Dash took a closer look at each other. The bags under their eyes was hard to miss.
“I guess you're right, Spike. It couldn't hurt to try one out, or what do you think, Rainbow?”
“Nah, I don't think so, lets do it!”
Rainbow Dash grabbed a can out of the box with her hoof. Its design was similar to the box with blue and silver color inlays.
“I know it's more Rarity's style to appreciate a good design, but I do like the look of this... thing.”
“It's a can, Rainbow.”
“If you say so...”
She reached out to the top of the can to open it, but instead, it got knocked out of her hoof. Luckily, Twilight caught it with her magic.
“You have to stop being so eager, Rainbow!” she said.
“He.. he.. yeah... thanks for catching it, but can you.. err.. open it for me?”
“Sure, here you go!” said Twilight as she grabbed a can for herself and opened both cans at the same time.
*KA-LICK!*
They took a careful sip of the newly discovered drink and their eyes suddenly widened from the taste-sensation.
“This stuff is good!” exclaimed Rainbow Dash and chugged the rest of the can's content.
“I agree.. but I don't think you should've taken it all at once, who knows what can happen now!?” said Twilight.
“Blah, blah, blah, no offense, you know I don't listen when you're all 'eggheady'! Cya, and thanks for the help!” said Rainbow Dash and was gone before you could say 'lickety-split'.
*sigh* “When will she ever learn?”
“I bet ya 10 bits that she'll hurt herself within the hour.” said Spike.
“Spike! That's a horrible bet! But let's make it 20 bits if she gets hospitalized! Deal?” said Twilight and held her hoof out to Spike.
“Deal.” said Spike and shook Twilight's hoof.
Rainbow Dash flew high above Ponyville, enjoying the cold wind flowing through her mane. As she came closer to the center of town, she noticed that there was more ponies out than usual. She was about to ask herself “why?” when the answer in shape of the town hall came into view, it looked like it did after Derpy's 'accident', but worse. She then remembered what Twilight said and realized that she would be blamed for the damage done to the town hall and the rest of Ponyville.
“I better get home before anypony sees me...” she thought, but just as she turned to fly home, she heard a voice below her scream; “THERE SHE IS! GET HER!” and saw two other pegasi take off towards her. “Oh, pony feathers!” she said to herself and set off in the direction of the park where she practiced for the 'Young Fliers Competition' in hope of losing her pursuers there. They were faster than she expected and was about to catch her when they reached the park. Suddenly she felt the Red Bull kick in and dashed down to a row of trees with the help from her new found energy. The two pegasi behind her had fallen back a bit, but were still on her tail as she began to weave in and out between the trees. Halfway through she managed to shake them as they collided with each other and knocked themselves out.
Although she had lost her tail, she couldn't relax just yet, she still had to get home. She set full speed towards home and was there in almost no time at all. But as she neared her house, she became terrified when she discovered that she was unable to slow down. A crash was inevitable, but crashing into her own house was out of the question, because nopony could help her if she got hurt. That meant that there was only one option left, to once again crash into the library.
“And done!” exclaimed Spike as he put the last book in it's proper place.
“Great job, Spike!” said Twilight.
“Thank you, Twilight. By the way, for how long have we been cleaning?”
“If it's the bet you're thinking of, it looks like you'll owe me 10 bits.”
“LOOK OUT BELOW!!” Rainbow Dash screamed before crashing through the door.
“Ouch! That hurt!” she said and fainted.
“Now you owe me 20 bits!” Twilight exclaimed.
Spike just groaned.
