Gear Works was soundly sleeping on his cot, his dormitory cell a domain of blissful peace and quietness.
The dark acolyte Earth Pony stallion splayed across the mattress on his back with all four of his legs in the air. His mechadendrite arm lazily hung off his bed.
He was awoken with a start by the sound of a fast heavy banging on his cell door. It burst as an Iron Warrior stepped his gunmetal armour gleamed in the ceiling's luminescent light.
''Dark Acoltye Gear Works'' Boomed the giant's voice. ''You are late. Come with us now.''
''What?'' Gear said confusedly said trying to shake away his sleepiness.
''Are you deaf!?'' The giant angrily barked. Come with us now or I shall drag you by your tail.''
''Ok, Ok'' Gears held his front hoofs up placatingly. ''I'll come.'' He hurriedly got off his bed and exited his cell onto the cobbled streets of Ponyville.
He was soon surrounded by six Iron Warriors and they began marching him along the street.
Gear could see they were heading towards a temple of the two sisters. He could hear its bells ringing.
''So, where are we heading?'' Gear asked feeling that something was very wrong.
''Have you forgotten what today is?'' The rhino driver asked.
Sitting on the passenger bench in the armoured personnel carrier's hold Gear shook his head before realising the driver could not see him.
''No.''
The driver pulled on the reins, halting the rhinos by the temple's marble steps. Gear exited the gold gilded carriage and began trotting up to the doors of the temple.
''It's your wedding day silly'' Pinkie Pie replied before unicycling off and back down the street before the two balloon rhinos began to rise into the sky and Pinkie with them.
''What?'' Was all Gear could say.
As he reached the top of the mountain and came before the temple doors he was greeted by the 38th companies Sorceror.
''Ah and here is the bride-to-be. But where is your wedding dress?'' Serith Asked.
''What?''
''No No No, this will not do at all'' With a snap of his armoured gloved fingers, Gear's acolyte robes burst into flames revealing underneath a silver-white wedding gown with a black and yellow striped train trailing him.
''What?''
''Now seeing as your parents could not make the journey, I shall have to be the one to walk you down the aisle. Taking Gear's mechadendrite in his gauntlet, Serith walked them past the temple's open doors. Passing the threshold Pipe organs began to play. On either side of the aisle, Gear saw the benches were full.
On the left were Iron Warriors and Priests of the Dark Mechanicum standing like statues.
On the right were ponies fidgeting with excitement and a family of rhinos, their black and yellow striped hides vibrating while black smoke poured out of their horns.
Two individuals stood at the end of the aisle. The master of the 38th Company, Warsmith Solon stood, his spiderly legs easily identifying him. He wore a priest frock around his diseased armour.
But Gear's eyes were focused on the other individual. They were wearing a full formal wedding suit. Gear recognised the dark blue mane and tail and the grey bat wings on their back. Dusk Blade turned his head and gazed into Gear's eyes, and smiled happily.
A bolt of utter dread struck Gear's stomach. As he came to stand before the Warsmith and next to Dusk. Serith released Gear's mechadendrite and then shattered into many tiny rhinos that scattered to the temple's walls. The attendees sat down, as the giant Rhino stopped playing the pipe organs.
''Right I'm rather busy today so we'll get this done quickly.'' Solon announced ''If there is anyone that objects to this marriage speak up now or hold your peace.'' Only the idling engine of the armoured rhino transport could be heard.
The Warsmith turned to Dusk and spoke.
''Do you Dusk Blade take this failure of an Earth Pony as your lawfully wedded wife?''
''I do Dusk responded without a moment's hesitation.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna then turned to Gear and spoke as one.
''Do you Gear 'where's that stupid track pin gone' Works accept Dusk Blade as your lawfully wedded husband?''
''What?''
The Rhino Automata rose its mechanical limbs in the air and loudly declared.
''I now pronounce you as Sun and Moon. You may now kiss the bride.''
Gear felt a hoof cup under his chin and turn his head. He saw Dusk with pursed lips about to intercept his own.
Gear was saved as the doors of the temple exploded inwards, sending wooden shrapnel everywhere.
''I OBJECT!'' Roared a demi-godly voice. Both Gear and Dusk turned towards the wedding crasher.
In walked an iron behemoth. He strode down the aisle his heavy Terminator armour cracking the floor beneath him. All the attendees fell to one knee and bowled their heads as the Lord of the IV Legion past them.
The Primarch Perturabo stopped before Gear and Dusk. He towered over them like a mountain of iron. He then Spoke.
''I can not allow this marriage to go ahead. Not without the couple knowing the truth.''
''What?''
''The truth that you Dusk Blade and you Gear Works are long lost, brothers!.''
Every rhino in the temple gasped loudly in shock.
''What?''
A long silence filled the temple as everyone took in the news. It soon ended as Dusk turned to Gear and said.
''Hey Gear? Ever heard on winc...''
Gear then awoke with a start and sat up in his bed as if a grenade had gone off. A poor servo skull that had been recharging on his chest was catapulted through the cells-only window, shattering through the armourglass.
Unable to comprehend its predicament it simply continued on its trajectory, soon shattering through the armourglass of another window. It entered the slaveholding area and struck a slave overseer. The poor man had turned his head to the noise. He no longer had a head and his body cartwheeled away, striking several other Overseers. The slaves at first unsure of what to do then saw their chance.
Alarms soon blared out as the chaos forces raced to suppress the full slave uprising now engulfing Ferrous Dominus.
Gear, unaware of the chaos he had caused, stretched out a hoof to his bedside table and with trembling hoofs gripped the icon of the dark Omnisiah and clutched it to his chest and began praying.
A loud knock at the door distured Gear's prayer. It began to swing open and Gear spied gunmetal power armour.
''Dark Acoltye Gear Works I have come...'' Before he could finish his sentence, the Iron Warrior felt something shatter against his armour and then heard a voice scream out.
''YOU WON'T TAKE ME ALIVE!'' Which was quickly followed by the breaking of glass and the sound of galloping hoofs receding away.
A second Iron Warrior leaned his head around the door frame and asked.
''What was all that about?''
''I haven't a clue,'' The first Iron Warrior said still confused. ''I just wanted a report on when the repairs to my rhino would be finished.''
