Peace into Fear

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

I felt no feeling. I felt no weight. I was just floating around in empty, white space. The only thing that I could hear was...was...indescribable. (Basically this) It's as if you were playing a horror game that was based in an old, abandoned hospital. I was just...there. Floating around in empty space. Suddenly, images appeared with a horrific blast of static sound. These images and sounds lasted a quarter of a second. Every couple of seconds, they would appear. I began to focus my mind on the images. One image I could make out, it appeared to be home. Earth. My originating dimension. It was like a field. It looked like there was nothing but rolling, green hills and blue skies. Another image flashed, and resembled what I think is called Equestra. It looked a lot like the previous image, but cartooned at first. This went on for a couple of more minutes, until it stopped. The static sound still hung around, but not nearly as loud.

Suddenly, I can feel myself drop to the ground. With a great thud and some pain, I look up from the dirt. I was in that first image. It was as if I were home on Earth. I saw nothing but grassy fields, running along big, green rolling hills. Not a tree or a person in sight. I could hear the wind blow and rustle the grass. The skies...the skies were beautiful. It was a bright, blue sky with fluffy clouds. It's as almost as this was directly copied off of a default Windows desktop wallpaper. I suddenly felt a sense of ease, a sense of peace. The sun was shinning down upon the beautiful landscape, bringing out its vivid, bright colors. I looked all around me. Suddenly...I felt an urge to turn around and look to my right. There on a hill, I saw a tree. It appeared to be a giant, old, oak tree with a full set of leaves.

Strange...I haven't seen that before, I thought to myself.

I headed toward the tree. As I got closer, it appears more and more that there was something carved on its trunk. I ran right up to its trunk. On the front of the trunk, it appears a message was carved into it. From my ability, it read:

Blitz...help...behind..ouy

I pondered for a second.

"Behind ouy...what does that even me-"

It hit me like a speeding freight train. Ouy is you backwards. Behind you. That's what the message said. Suddenly my sense of peace and ease vanished. It was replaced by goose bumps and shivers down my spine. It's as almost as if I had a dose of fear injected right into my veins. The wind suddenly stopped blowing. The bright blue sky suddenly turned a dark shade of red, with clouds that grew bigger and bigger, as if it were going to rain. The whole landscape had a shade of red. It was as if someone placed a red filter over the sun, changing the whole setting. The static noise was returning. Its decibel level grew and grew. I turned around. Red, chunky water droplets began to rain down from the sky. It was blood.

Off in the distance, was the dark figure of what I think is a man. I could sense he was starring right at me. I felt something wrong. I felt a strange connection to this man. Suddenly, I blinked...and he somehow traveled a couple yards ahead. I could sense that this man was a bad entity. That he wasn't good. He was evil. I blinked again, he got even closer. It backed up into the oak tree, which now had its leaves removed, showing its dead, bare branches. I began to panic. I breathed louder and louder, sweat starting to form on my forehead. I quickly turned around to see that the message carved now read:

Can...be...saved...one

The messaged started to bleed its own fluid. I turned back around, to face the more horrifying thing I have ever seen in my whole entire life. It was a tall, slender man. He was wearing a black suit with a black tie. Much like the pony from my earlier intermission. His arms almost extended down to the ground. I looked at his face. He had no face. There was nothing there. No eye sockets, no nose, no mouth, just a plain stretch of pale, clammy, flesh. The center point of its face was starring right down upon me. My vision suddenly began to twitch and twist violently, like if it was an old TV with antennas, having a bad signal. Suddenly an object emerged from behind him. It had the outline of a pony. It was completely shadowed. It lunged right at me. Instead of causing harm to me, I somehow got onto its back. Suddenly two large objects spread from its sides. The pony was a Pegasus. We began to fly up in the air, into the red filtered sky. I looked down upon the tall, slender, suited man. He was staring right back at me, powerless to stop me. Suddenly, everything blasted into a shade of white.

"GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed.

I sat-up, panting, in cold sweat, and looked around, I was back in Equestria. It was nightfall. I could hear crickets chirping and short gusts of wind rustling leaves. Underneath me was a blanket. I felt something wrapped around my head. It was bandage. I was in some large, grassy plain with a near-by lake. The stars glistened down upon the lake, and the moon did its share of lighting the landscape with the distant forest.

"Where...where am I?" I said to the space around me.

"You're away from there," said a male pony of some sort. He sounded as if he was in his late teens. I suddenly saw a bright beam of light.

"Ah! Too bright!" I said while rubbing my eyes. I then adjusted to the light source. It was an oil lantern. And holding it, was the Pegasus I saw from earlier, lost in the forest. His coat was of a dark orange shade, his mane was brown with maroon streaks running through it, and his eyes were of a light blue. His cutie mark resembled keys on a piano.

"You're the...the...the pony from the forest" I said while pointing at him.

"I guess you can say that."

"How...where did you...why did you even"

"It's best if some questions go unanswered."

I was completely baffled.

"You're not exactly from these parts...aren't you?" said the Pegasus.

"N...no, not at all."

"I may have a lead or two on how you got here. But first, you probably want some questions about a previous event answered."

I simply nodded.

"Well then, that vision that you had, what exactly happened in it?"

"Uh...how did you know I had a vision?"

"Just answer my question" the Pegasus said with an impatient tone. I certainly don't want to piss him off, so I might as well.

"Well, it's as if I was on my own, er, planet. At first it was a beautiful sight, green hills, blue skies and such. Then I noticed an oak tree, It said something about help, and someone named Blitz. Then that's when the peaceful setting suddenly went into a representation of hell. Then this guy appeared, then this pon-"

"Wait, what did the guy look like?"

"Well, he was tall and slender. He had a black suit, pale skin, and a lack of face..."

"What did the pony look like?"

"I couldn't tell. It was shadowed out. All I could make out was that it was a Pegasus."

"Mhm, and what happened after the Pegasus appeared?"

"Well, at first I thought he was going to attack me, but then I found myself on his back and we flew off, then it just went to white and that's how I got here."

It was getting really late.

"Alright, it's getting really late, I'm sure a...creature like you needs some type of rest. Pick up that blanket and climb on me, there's something that I think belongs to you at my place." the Pegasus said, while beckoning me to get on his back.

After a few miserable attempts of getting on a Pegasus's back, we then flew off. We went past a few fields and farm houses. The cold night air hitting me in the face was the only thing that was keeping me awake. After what I'd say would be about a 30 minute flight, we arrived at this house. Since it was dark, I couldn't tell much about it from the outside. I followed the pony inside. It was pretty spacious. All the walls and floors had a nice wood finish to them, as if it was a really big tree house. There was a circular living room with a few couches, a grand piano at one end, a couple of keyboards and synthesizers at the other end. There was a spiral staircase leading upwards to a few more rooms, and to the right of the keyboards was another room with a kitchen. The pony trotted into the kitchen, opened a door to retrieve an object. He walked in the room I was currently in with an object in his mouth.

He laid it down in-front of me.

"Is this yours?" he said.

It was my custom shop Les Paul Black Beauty that I left earlier from Fluttershy's cottage.

"Whoa, it's my Les Paul, where'd you find it?" I said.

"When you suddenly passed out, I was nearby when Applejack called out for help. I told her that I can take care of it. Then I think one of the more silent ponies...Fluttershy was it, flew up to me with that guitar you have there, telling me it was yours."

"...really?" I said.

"Well, thanks! I don't know what will become of me if I lost it..."

"It's all good. I used to try out guitar myself, until I decided to try out the piano. I picked up on it pretty good...and turned out great on it, so that's when I got my cutie mark."

Then the pony yawned.

"Well, I think we should all be getting to sleep here. You can crash here for the night, the couches are pretty comfy."

"Heh, already, thanks for the hospitality I guess." I gave out a chuckle.

"Yeah, but I forgot to tell you. My name is Blitz." the pony said.

I suddenly starred right at him.

"That means...you're...you...you're the-"

"Save it for tomorrow." Blitz said. He then turned off the light and trotted up the spiral staircase.

I looked over at the inviting couches. There was a green one that looked comfy, so I sat down on it. I instantly sunk down into it. Greatest feeling ever. Then my aching body was completely submerged into the couch. It felt like there was anvils on my eyelids. I forgot any form of reality and drifted off to sleep.
