Five years after the world-known rescue operation on the fallen Equestrian space station LC-4, things changed rapidly, with the International Space station now being officially online, the space programs all over Equestria began to focus their attention on their nearest natural satellite, Moon. Although it's not the first time they've landed a stallion on the Moon. It'd been a while since the last Celestia mission ended, and the Equestrians would have to start all over again...

After the successful mission of the unmared Crescent 1, operation Moonshot was approved by Former Princess Luna herself as the first mared expedition to the Moon. As a result, A year and six months later, Crescent 2 was launched; this solo mission with former 'Serpent' mission specialist Atlantis being the pilot, is now aiming straight for Moon.

The objective is to complete three full orbits around the low lunar orbit, then return to Equis, proving that the mare/stallion can survive a full-time five days trip in space once again after 'Celestia 8'.

However, it's always easy to say than done... Atlantis, all by herself, encounters a series of deadly problems on her way... Will the daredevil make her way around the Moon and return? Or become a stiff, cold corpse in the dead space?
