Spike has finally become a young adult... though his muscles have yet to truly develop. To most ponies, he seems fairly weak, thin, and a little pudgy. But when a mysterious mare appears from seemingly nowhere, his life begins to change.

Just who is this "Jade", and why does she seem so different than the other ponies he's met?

Jade isn't what you'd call an "average pony". Far from it, actually!

First, she's what the locals call a "Pale Thestral", which once was long-thought to be extinct, due to the Nightmare's Corruption turning most of, if not all of, the Thestral Population darker in coat color.

Second, she's "Shire-Blooded", of which the last recorded Shire-Blood was none other than Former-Princess Celestia, which grants them an average height that towers over most ponies.

And third, she's not even from Equestria, let alone Equus... which may actually clarify the fourth, and certainly not final, point:

She's far more assertive than about 95% of the mares in Equestria!

And yet, once she and Spike meet for the first time, a strange bond starts to form... one which may, very well, spark a flame that goes beyond mere "friendship".
