School was such a bore. How far into the week was it? Wednesday now?
I looked up at the clock, watching as it ticked slowly. The day was half over, and had been shit so far. I was looking forward to lunch after this period. Lunch was easily one of my favorite parts of the day, for obvious reasons, though it wasn’t completely without its downsides.
For one, it was always kind of rowdy in there, as, like myself, there were several dozen others who were looking for a break from the first half of the school day, so peaceful isn’t what I would call it.
Second, I wasn’t always fond of what was up for lunch that day, but hey, it’s food.
But most of all, my main concern came in the form of another classmate. A girl named Sour Sweet, to be precise. We were both seniors in high school, but even being able to ‘rule the school’ as the upperclassmen didn’t meant there wasn’t conflict with others of the same stature.

I stared down at the food, something in me snapping as I saw the only thing I was looking forward to today now ruined. Just as she started to walk away, I stood, placing a firm hand on her shoulder, stopping her.
“You know Sour… I get it now. I really do…” I said. She turned to look at me, an eyebrow raised, unamused. “I get why you go around, harassing others. It’s the only way you’ll ever get attention. It’s all you’re good at. I bet you bullied your way into Archery and Wrestling too. I sure don’t ever see anyone cheering for you, so I can’t imagine you’re really that good at either!” I snapped.
Sour Sweet’s face dropped into an angry scowl.
“Is that so?! Well then, perhaps you’d like to put your money where your mouth is!” she retorted, folding her arms. I smirked.
“Sure, I could beat you at Archery any day!” I said, knowing I myself was fairly good at it.
“Nah, not interesting enough. Wrestling is where it’s at, and since you think you’re so good, wrestle me in a match, and we’ll see who’s laughing then!” she said.
“Fine, I’ll wrestle you into the ground and pin you there, and when I do, you stop going out of your way to bother me!” I said.
“It’s on then! The loser does whatever the winner says. But if I win, remember, you do whatever I say!” she snapped.
“And if you lose, you leave me alone!” I said, my emotion clouding my judgment.
“Deal! Tonight then, after school! Meet me in the gym for a best two out of three! We’ll see who’s laughing then!” she said confidently. “Oh, and don’t even think about not backing up your words, because if you do, I’ll make your life a living hell!” she added, walking away with a huff.
As I stood there, finally calming down, I realized I had just gotten myself into a wrestling match with the top wrestler in the school.
I was screwed.
I had spent all my free time the rest of the day studying wrestling moves, and hidden tips and tricks to pin your opponent, but I still didn’t feel ready at all. But, I had no choice now. “Yeah yeah, wrestle first, talk later.” I said, entering the circle. We took our stances, and with the call from Sour, we started.

Sour's head hit the mat with a soft thud. Then she suddenly gasped and looked up at me in complete shock as I laid on top of her, holding her down. She realized that she had actually lost.
"Wha- but… How did you…" Sour couldn't find the words to say in her shocked state.
Meanwhile, I could hardly believe it either. I had actually managed to beat Sour Sweet. She stood as I let her up, whipping her hair from side to side as she let out a breath. I knew this last round would not only be the toughest, but it would also decide the victor, as we were now one and one. When the clock minute hand struck 12, we started. We both took many deep breaths as we processed what had just happened. We stared into each other's eyes in shock. Sweat dripped from my face onto Sour', and finally, after what seemed like an eternity, though in reality it was only one minute, I smirked proudly and held my head high as I glanced down at Sour. With as much smug pride as I could, I finally spoke.
“Pinned you… again… bitch.” I said, smirking.
Sour glared at me bitterly, but likely realized that there was nothing she could do. She had lost.
After a standing silence between us for a few moments, she finally let out a rough sigh.
“Fine… you beat me. I’ll… leave you alone.” she said begrudgingly. “What is your other term?”
I thought for a moment, before I smiled down at her.
