No Breath For Two

The sky was displayed with warm, velvet colors over the Great Everfree Forest Reservation. There were trees that would cover the ground and spanned for miles past the horizon. A car cruised along the two-way road that sliced through the dark green wooded landscape. Inside the vehicle, two girls conversed about their objectives for their college course project.

"We already know most of the different types of critters, plant life, and creeks around here." , exclaimed Sapphire.

"We might as well take our time. We've been around this place since childhood." Feather
responded.

Their course project that was assigned to their biology class was to find and document
any plant or creature they could find, and report on how it played a part in its ecosystem. For their location of choice, the classmates chose the Everfree Forest Reservation. The two friends had spent most of their youth, venturing and exploring the nature trails of the forest.

This was a nature reserve, however.

There were more feral types of animals and creatures that lived and bred there. The forest was well known for the reports of missing hikers who wandered off the trailways or turned up missing during the night.

Emergency officials were never able to tread too far from the reservation. Communication would become spotty and important calls would complicate location status from rescue efforts. Yellow and red signs would be posted on the main road every four miles for caution and safety so that the people who travel past midnight will know whether they were in a dangerous area of the reservation or not.

Some travelers who had broken down on the road in the past had recounted hearing something large and heavy moving deep within the woods offside, but failed to visibly identify what it was.

Missing Persons’ reports were filed to the local ranger station, after the travelers disappeared from their vehicle on the way back home.

The previous unsettling encounters didn't phase Sapphire and Feather, who were both singing to the car radio, speeding past the warning signs that were posted of a dangerous area they were approaching.

The sky had already turned into night with a gray glow overcast. The two friends were still on the road, now silent due to the radio gone static earlier. Feather, who was in the passenger seat, was about to reach for her phone charger to plug her phone when the car suddenly rocked back and forth violently. Both girls screamed as Sapphire took control of the steering wheel to stabilize the vehicle. The car was on a straight road with no turns for miles. Sapphire managed to pull over to the dirt side of the road off the payment.

"Did we hit anything?!? I didn't hear or see anything! I-I just felt the whole vehicle jerk!!" , asked Feather.

"I had my high beams on the entire time. I legit saw nothing!" , responded Sapphire who was still coming down from the shock.

There were no other cars on the road. The next rest stop was 50 more miles from their location. Both girls sat quietly and observed their surroundings.

"Maybe I should call for hel-....oh..." Sapphire stopped, groaning at the "No Signal" label on her phone connection. Feather's phone was out of service as well.

"Well, looks like we really need to break out the electric lanterns and flashlights. We got a few in the back." Sapphire announced reassuringly, grabbing the keys, opening the car door.

Feather followed, "Plus we have tasers. That should definitely scare whatever feral critter off. Though, I do want to see if we had truly hit anything....or if anything had hit us."

Both girls stood at the back of their car, staring in unease. The rear of the car frame was crushed inwards. The rear windows were also smashed in. It looked like a hand had tried to grab their car from behind, but failed.

Sapphire was lost for words, "How......? This looked like something was on the car and tried to rip the roof off."

The girls were stupefied as there were no kind of predators that they knew of, that would've done this much damage.

A sudden cold breeze swept through the road corridor, moving the leaves and branches as if life had suddenly awakened in them. They both shivered slightly. They were in both in tank tops and shorts due to the daytime heat that was hours ago during their car ride. However, since they were in the thick of the Everfree, cooler air was being blown around. Sapphire's electric lantern began to dim and flicker.

Suddenly, the sound of wood snapping was heard.

"Sapphire!!!!" , Feather yelled as she dropped her lamp, shattering it as she tackled Sapphire out of the way of incoming danger. Tumbling over each other , the girls evaded just in time as a large trunk or a tree slammed on top of their vehicle, totaling it.

Both of them were quick to look back and see the wreckage. They were in the middle of a sudden thunderstorm. They were isolated in the darkness of the forest. The other lantern and flashlights were still in the trunk of the car, presumed destroyed in the flattened wreckage.

Sapphire patted the ground around her, calling loudly for her friend against the howling gusts of wind,

"Feather?!?!"

There was no response.

Sapphire's heart began to pound inside her chest as she panicked. There was a high possibility that she might've been killed by the fallen tree.

The girl couldn't focus or gather her bearings due to the wind. The road after like a wind tunnel as air was squeezed between the dense forest, where lesser wind would pass through.

Fearing for her own safety, Sapphire's fight or flight response kicked in. She wouldn't be bested by the forest she grew up with. Feather and Sapphire had never been separated like that before. The both of them had many adventures together growing up. Sapphire knew that Feather must’ve used her instincts to dive out of the way of the hazard from hearing which side of her had the loudest sound of incoming impact.

'She would be fine' , Sapphire thought, but at the same time, she needed to shelter from the storm. Sapphire quickly dashed off from the road, and traversed into the forest.

Feather slowly opened her eyes.

When she came to, she realized she couldn't move.....and barely could breathe.

At that point she thought she had been pinned by the fallen tree she narrowly avoided, but there was no feeling of solid wood on her body.

Her arms were pinned to her sides, with her hands behind her hips. The feeling of something fleshy and smooth was tight around her body from feet, up to her bust. It slowly gripped her body, tighter and tighter, forcing a small exhale from the girl.

As Feather widened her eyes, she saw huge coils all around her body in a double coiled loop. She could only move her head around to see a very large snake wrapped around her. A flashlight was on the ground near the snake, illuminating its coils in an overbearing silhouette shadow in front of the light.

"....a-a...a-aaa....." ,

…..was all that she could speak as the serpent's coils started to squeeze her tighter with sudden haste.

Feather had took that flashlight on her way back to her sister after previously becoming lost in the near pitch black forest. It turned out that indeed, Feather had dove out of the way to avoiding her certain demise.

However, something more perilous awaited her.

"....a-a a a h-...."

….Feather hoarsely breathed out again as the coils embraced her more.

There was little to no wind blowing within the forest. The thousands of trees and bushes gave only a slight breeze with a few raindrops. What was replaced was the deafening cream of the serpent's giant coils, tightly constricting its prey.

Feather breasts began to bulge under her the top of the coils as the squeezing around her began to intensify.

Feather winced and gnashed her teeth as the coils began to pull her down within the bed of coils. Her tank top began to stretch as her breasts were forced up, almost ready to rip out of her top wear from the coils that continued to squeeze tighter and tighter. The deafening sound of rubbery creaking overwhelming her senses, stimulating her unintentionally.

The spaghetti straps of her tank top snapped from the gradual pressure of the serpent's suffocating embrace.

Feather couldn't move a muscle due to her body being squeezed far beyond any movement or wriggling. She tried to suck in air, but that would only result in losing what little breath she had left. The snake would not give the poor girl any mercy as it shifted its coils up more to get a better grip of her.

Feather could only move her mouth with no sound to come out as the coils slithered up above her bust, over her shoulders, and around her neck, forcing her head in an upright position. The bulge from the coils squished her cheeks around her face, nearly smothering her entirely.

"....n n-n n n n-...." ,

….was all the sound the girl could make as her face turned blue.

Her eyelids dropped. Her brain was deprived of oxygen and proper blood flow. Her mouth was forced slightly open from the coils bulging up against her cheeks. The squeeze would not end.

It had begun to rain lightly, making the snake's job easier to wrap and slide more thicker coils around the girl. She looked as if she was about to sink into the heavy, thick, wet, coily pile of squishy muscle.

Feather could only hope her friend didn't follow her.

She had expected herself to pass out at that point, but as if the snake was self aware, its constriction was not tight enough to make her lose consciousness.

Feather feared the snake may have been waiting for more movement from further ahead of the forest, hoping to catch two in one hunt.

That no longer mattered as the coils shifted and cinched a quick jolt of squeeze, forcing more breath out of Feather,

"....n n n n n n n n~...."

The rain became heavier, allowing some precipitation to fall through the densely covered forest. Sapphire had been walking at least for an hour. She was soaked and shivering as she continued her desperate search for her friend in the dark. Sapphire was able to navigate through the forest at first, thanks to a small keychain light that was attached to her car keys. However, the battery had run out by the time it started raining. She had no direction of where she was going. If anything, she had to find her friend.

'...They would find the road again and eventually make their way to some help…' , she thought.

Sapphire needed to make sure the both of them were ok and accounted for. However that plan of action had gradually felt more of a self assurance rather than of confidence. Sapphire was tired, cold, and hungry.

The only thing that had the most plausible reason for her still being able to continue walking was her adrenaline while her mind played scenarios of what would happen if someone or something, was following her.

Sapphire came to a sudden halt as she saw some illumination of light not far from the bushes ahead of her. Her despair turned into a glimmer of hope of her friend's presence. With what little energy she had left, Sapphire made a dead sprint toward the light.

When she was able to get a better view, she gasped loudly, then covered her mouth.

She had found the source of where the light was coming from.

What she also found was a gigantic pile of green coils covering all over her friend, which she was able to barely spot from the girl's head poking out of the thick mass.

Sapphire froze in shock, desperately preventing herself from running into danger or being heard from her reaction. She saw her friend, Feather with the serpent's coils up to her face, slowly pulsing and slithering around and inward, squeezing her more and more tighter.

Sapphire couldn't figure out what to do. She looked to see where all the coils had spread on the ground. Some of its body was trailer over being the bushes. Sapphire gulped as she realized the creature could have had more length to it than the endless thick bed of coils choking her friend.

There was a sudden loud hiss, jolting Sapphire's nerves as she jumped. It sounded as if it was directly behind her. She quickly turned around.

Before she could react or see it, a large mouth lunged at her and clamped on her face. Sapphire was twirled around a few times. Her startled scream was muffled by the snake's maw as it coiled itself around her body, tightening its coils entirely up to her face as the same as her friend near her.

The rain became more moderate above the tree tops as the wind began to die down. Below, deep within the reservation, a ray of light beamed across the forest floor for several feet, illuminating the damp ground, and a colossal, thick pile of coils. Snuggly wrapped up were the two girls, coiled in their own cocoon of endless squeeze and teasing with their strangled breaths.

Sapphire couldn't move her head as the snake's coils were tightly snug up to her head, forcing it still. Though she could still see her friend across from her.

"....n n n n n n n~..." ,

......was all Sapphire could utter from her lips, her cheeks squished by the coils' bulge from its tightening embrace. Feather's face was blue as she could only suck in a small breath as the serpent squeezed tighter.......tighter...forcing out the very breath she had just took.

Feather gave out a croaked, breathless moan as a tinge of blush had spread across her face. Sapphire couldn't figure out a way to escape. This creature was enormous. The girls had never seen a snake this large before. Surely it would've made a great report for their assignment.

Two coils were enough to cover their bodies from head to toe, however, the serpent made sure there was now escape. Two more double loops of coil were wrapped around both girls each, ensuring the squeeze would take their breath with no issue.

Sapphire gave out a long, low moan as the coils squished and squeezed her once more. Her cheeks were squished, making her display a puckered up face the same as her friend,

"....n-n n n n n n n n-n......."

She tried to make a noise, a pitiful call for help. However what came out was low, strained moan that forced more air out of her body.

The snake moved to stare down over Feather, whose face was about to be completely smothered within the coils.

Every time it squeezed its giant coils, her body sank slightly further in.

Sapphire watched helplessly as the snake cinched its coils and continued its tight embrace around her.

Feather's face disappeared within the coily mass.

She was gone.

"...n n n n n n-nnnnnnn-....." ,

Sapphire moaned helplessly as the coils around began to squeeze more on her body.

Feather was completely cocooned and entombed within the wet, squishy, giant mass of constricting muscle. The snake then turned around and moved its head over to Sapphire, looming over her.

Staring.

Sapphire's face was a shade of blue and purple, struggling to take in air. There was nothing she could do. Her vision blurred. Oxygen wasn't able to get to her brain.

She uttered one more noise out of her lips,

"...n-....n n n-.."

The serpent loomed closely to Sapphire's face, and opened its maw.

The morning sun broke through the clouds and shone over the Everfree Forest Reservation.

On the main road, emergency and rescue crew began to tow away a smashed vehicle after they spent a couple hours sawing off parts of a fallen tree from last night's storm.

Rescue crew traversed through some of the forest after a report of two girls that had gone missing around the area. There was one item that gave the search party a clue as to the whereabouts of the sisters; a notebook describing a college biology project report. Though that didn't bring much hope to the search.

No one had any idea where the girls were.

A missing person's report was filed by the police department later that week.

Fun fact : This was originally just a commissioned story from someone on discord back in August of 2021. He paid me $50 to write it. After reviewing it, he asked for a refund, which I had to reissue back. When I finally looked at this initial google doc to see what was wrong with it, I would've asked for a refund too.

There were soo many grammar and punctuation errors, the stuff of nightmares for English professors. It was only the 2nd fanfic i wrote since making this account and I feel like it would be better placed here.
