Resuming Royal Duties
Shortly after the duel between Celestia and Drake, Drake decided to have his sisters introduce him to the royal army. What Drake saw somewhat concerned him, all the soldiers had simple weapons. From what Drake had read before he came back was that almost every enemy who attacked Equestria, was very powerful in magic. Drake took it up on himself to train the army where it could defend Equestria from powerful enemies. First, Drake taught the Unicorn soldiers spells that would allow them to become immune to most detrimental spells. This would allow them to continue an attack without fear of possible instant defeat. Then Drake worked with Twilight Sparkle to make potions for the Pegasi soldiers. The potions were specifically designed to blind the enemy in smoke, while the Unicorn soldiers advanced. This process is took several months before he was done. Afterwards Drake resumed duties as a diplomat to other countries surrounding Equestria. One thing that did change from his original duties was that he and Luna had a say in new laws. Drake often visited the Everfree Forest and slowly reclaimed old possessions and restoring them from the old castle. One day as Drake was leaving the castle, he saw Luna coming.
"What brings you here sister?" Drake asked, curious of her appearance at the castle.
"Looking for old prices of armor" Luna replied matter of factly. Confused, Drake inquired more.
"I forgot", Luna said, "You weren't here. Around this time of year, our subjects throw a celebration of my banishment." Luna then explained to Drake of last year's Nightmare Night where she scared everyone. After hearing that, Drake had an idea. He told Luna his idea, then they went to Celestia to share the idea.
Nightmare Night came quickly for most ponies in Ponyville. After what happened last year, the ponies were curious to see what would happen this year. Drake visited Ponyville and helped several ponies set up stages. As the afternoon came to close, Drake flew to Canterlot to go over some final details of his plans with his sisters. He was unaware that Twilight was in a nearby room who could hear them.
"Is everything in place Luna?" Drake asked.
"Yes, everything is in place or moving into place", Luna said, "No one will expect the uprising. Celestia, how about your end?"
"I have everything ready and a willing soldier", Celestia responded, "it will seem like it's actually happening." The three Alicorns then left each other.
Later that night, all the ponies in Ponyville were gathered in the town center. All the foals were going around gathering candy, other ponies were playing assorted games. Derpy won first prize for best costume, for accidentally falling into a barrel of oil and wearing an ice cream cone on her head. Drake walked around with other ponies enjoying the sight. As the time came for little foals to gather to listen to Zecora, a thunderstorm started at Canterlot, scaring most ponies.
As a dark thundercloud approach, Drake slipped away unnoticed. The thundercloud dispersed over the ponies, revealing Nightmare Moon! Most ponies cheered at the sight. Nightmare Moon smiled at the ponies below and said, "The sound of your adoration pleases me, hopefully you like the eternal night asuch as I do! Hahahaha!" Some ponies were confused, but most kept cheering. The main six were watching from below when a weary looking soldier beckoned them from a bush.
"This isn't an elaborate show for you", the soldier started, "this is actually Nightmare Moon. She and her brother overthrew Celestia and nearly killed her. Celestia told me to get you to hurry to Canterlot." The main six remained hiding, Twilight quickly vanished in a flash of magic and found herself outside the throne room. The door was smoking and broken. Guards littered the floor, and Celestia's body lay in front of the throne. Twilight quickly ran over to her mentor.
"Princess Celestia!" Twilight said, "Are you ok? What happened?"
Celestia coughed before responding, "I was blind to my siblings plan. They ambushed me and injured everyone. *Cough* *cough* Go, it isn't safe here anymore." As Celestia finished speaking, Twilight heard a voice behind her.
"She's right", The voice said, "You wer foolish to come back." Twilight turned around to see Drake in Nightmare form.
"The name is Moonblazer", The nightmare said, "and now, my sister will take her rightful place on the throne."
"Not if I can do anything… Aurgg!" Twilight started before she got knocked out by Nightmare Moonblazer before she could finish.
Meanwhile back at Ponyville, the rest of the main six were trying to come up with a plan, while Ponyville citizens were being taken prisoner. Rainbow wanted to straight up fight, Fluttershy wanted to hide, Rarity was moaning, and Applejack was trying to calm them all down. Eventually Pinkie Pie screamed, "CAN YOU ALL SHUT UP SO WE CAN MAKE A PLAN TO DEFEAT NIGHTMARE MOON!!!!" That immediately drew the nightmare's attention, who landed behind them.
"Well, well, well", Nightmare Moon started, "if it isn't the ponies who stopped me years ago. Luckily for me, I have help this time around." The ponies watched in shock as they saw Drake (Nightmare Moonblazer) land next to Nightmare Moon.
"The princess won't be causing any trouble sister, she is locked up in the dungeon", Moonblazer said, smiling, and the rest of the ponies are cleaning the castle to your liking. I'm sure you wouldn't mind me bringing them to the dungeon in chains sister?"
"I don't mind at all brother", Moon started, "but make sure you put the rustiest one on the white pony."
"With pleasure", Moonblazer responded. Within moments, all five ponies were in chains. Rarity was screaming that her coat as ruined, and Applejack started to get on to Pinkie Pie, but was interrupted.
"Quiet!" Moon snapped, "I want silence." It was a long walk back to the castle. In fact, it was long enough for Applejack to slowly get tired. As they neared the castle the ponies chains were released, but were suspended in magic bubbles. When they got to the castle, what they saw surprised them.
"SURPRISE!" All the ponies from Ponyville shouted. The castle was decorated, and snacks and games were set up everywhere.
Nightmare Moon and Moonblazer changed into Luna and Drake. Luna looked at Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity and said, "Did you enjoy our surprise?"
"Absolutely not!" Rarity fumed, "You captured us, dragged us up a mountain and you expect us to enjoy ourselves!?!?" Drake said nothing and magically moved Rarity towards two ponies who instantly gave Rarity a ponycure. The rest of the main six rested themselves and joined the royal family for a late dinner. Celestia explained her siblings plan to the main six. The plan was for Drake and Luna to cause a big scene. They sent a soldier to keep the main six in hiding while Drake mass teleported everyone to Canterlot. Then Drake would then effectively knock Twilight out, so it would be easier for him and Luna to get the rest of the main six. Celestia would then wake Twilight up and help her prepare fore the surprise party. The main six didn't wished they could've been told to come to Canterlot, but Drake said that would've been lame and wanted to have some fun. After they were done. Drake and Luna pulled out a large cake, thanking the main six for what they had done for Equestria. After it was all said and done, everyone went home, thinking about what had just happened, and continued to talk about it for several days.

This is my second story, as far as the timeline goes for this oc's, I don't have anything planned for the timeline of his immediate future. I have a plan to have him make a couple of appearances in a future story. I also have a story that goes through his banishment. Also feel free to comment on any mistakes or plot holes.
