I feel the breeze in my hair, the smell of flowers, and the sound of crickets. “It’s getting dark out Octi” says a female voice coming from the woods and entering the clearing.
“ Oh, vinyl, you startled me,” said Octavia. The wind picked up and blew the mare's hair back. “ I know it’s getting dark. I just thought I would come out and watch the stars.” says the gray mare, with the sun slowly setting. the two mares, one sitting the other walking towards her.
“ You're watching the stars, with your cello?.” the white mare responds. Octavia sighs
“ Damn, I just… I thought coming out here would give me some inspiration for a new song.” she sighs again,
“ Octi?, are you ok you've been spacing out a lot and, you focus so much on playing but you keep playing the same song over and over.” vinyl says.
“ Vinyl, how many more days till our wedding?” the gray mare asks quickly.
“We're already married, Octi remember” vinyl says looking concerned. The sun almost fully out of view Octavia replies
“ Oh right, sometimes I forget.” the gray mare sighs.
A branch breaks in the woods as a male voice comes through. “ Tavi, you're talking to yourself again.” Says a blue stallion. Octavia startled turns around.
“I was? I didn’t know sorry, how long have you been listening skystreak.” says the gray mare.
“Long enough. Tavi she’s gone you have to accept that, she’s dead.” says skystreak. The mare with tears forming in her eyes replies
“ I know, and so are you.” as the gray mare looks around she is alone. Except for three graves and her cello. One grave reads “ Here lies Vinyl scratch, beloved wife and DJ” Octavia remembers the mare's last words, “Octi it’s ok no need to cry, I'll always love you even if I'm not here.”
The gray mare reads what is on the second grave “ Here lies beloved brother and best friend skystreak” the mare starts to cry as she picks up her cello and starts to play the song vinyl’s love. as she plays, she looks at the third grave. “ why hasn’t my damned mind conjured you up yet, whiplash?.”
A voice creeps up on the gray mare startling her yet again. “ Octavia are out there, everypony is worried about you!.” says a familiar female voice.
The gray mare stops playing and stands up. “ I’m over here princess Twilight!.” the gray mare responds. after she says this a purple mare comes from the forest and into the clearing.
“ Octavia there you are, we were so worried when you didn’t show up.” the purple mare says, as she is looking at Octavia she sees the graves and then 2 empty bottles of whisky and a half full one. “Oh Octavia, you promised us you would stop, wait you were trying to drink yourself to death again. come on put it down I’ll take you home.” says the princess.
the gray mare stumbles towards her and says. “ s-stop why should I stop when it helps me forget.” the purple mare taken back by what she has said.
“ Octavia it will only kill you and vinyl wouldn’t want that to happen.” says the purple mare. she hugs the gray mare. “ Let’s get you home, you can yell at me in the morning when your sober.”
the princess picks up the drunk mare and carries her threw the forest. as they get to the edge of the forest and in to the town the drunk mare hears familiar voices. “Oh darling not again. Fluttershy dear get some tea ready for her.” says a mare with a sophisticated and firm voice.
“ On it rarity, oh you poor thing” says a gentle and calm voice. the sophisticated mare talks to one of the other girls.
“ Rainbow go get some blankets please, Oh and AJ go get Nurse Red Heart please, Octavia doesn’t look to well.” A country accent replies
“ I’m on it sugercube Just get her inside and warm.” another voice replies to Rarity
“ I’ll go get those blankets, don’t worry Octavia I'll be back before you know it.”
Rarity starts to speak again. “ Pinkie, sugercube corner is the closest place would it be ok if Octavia slept in your bed tonight.”
A happy and heartfelt voice replies “ well of course, she needs a place to sleep, I'll make her some pancakes when she wakes up.”
Octavia starts to mutter words in her drunken state. “ I’m sorry.” Twilight looks at her confused
“ Octavia are you trying to say something. please don’t you need to save your strength.” twilight starts walking to sugercube corner with rarity by her side. “ Rarity. in the morning could you take Octavia home and remove all the alcohol from her home.”
rarity giving her a firm look. “ Of course Twilight, I’ll check in on her every day as well.”
as she says this Rainbow returns with the blankets. “ see Octavia I told you I would be back shortly.” Rainbow Dash looking worried says to Twilight. “ Twilight I think she is going under.”
Twilight facing towards Rainbow. “ how can you tell.” the blue mare responds.
“ Her breathing is getting slower and more shallow.” as she says this AJ returns with Nurse Red heart behind her. Rainbow dash yells Towards Nurse red heart. “ Get over here quick I think she is going under!.”
Nurse red heart runs towards Octavia and says “ Princess put her down, let me check her.” twilight puts down Octavia and sighs with worry. Nurse red heart checks Octavia’s pulse and chest. “ her pulse is dropping and her breathing is shallow, we need to get her to the hospital now.”
As they all hear this Rainbow picks up Octavia and replies. “ I'll get her there quickly don’t worry.” Rainbow darts off with Octavia on her back. when she arrives at the hospital she burst threw the door and yells. “ I need a doctor fast this mare needs medical attention!.”
A doctor comes around the corner and sees Rainbow with a scared look and a mare on her back slowly dying. He responds “ Right this way quickly.” He leads Rainbow Dash to a room.
She lays Octavia on the bed and says. “ please do what ever you can and fast.”
The stallion looks at her and nods his head. “ I’ll do what I can Miss but I need you to leave and wait in the waiting room.” he pushes Rainbow out of the room.
After this the others arrive and
ask Rainbow if Octavia is ok, she replies “ I don’t know the doctor is in there now, we have to wait for now.”
hours pass before the doctor comes out of the room, he walks over to the girls and says “ she will be fine, she just needs to rest, good thing you got her here when you did, she almost died from alcohol consumption.”
Twilight gets up and walks over to the doctor and replies “ can we go in and see her.”
he looks at her and says “ fine but don’t wake her.” Twilight and the others walk in. they sit with her for hours one by one leaving and going home except for Twilight. she stayed all night watching over the mare. when morning came around she woke to find Octavia staring at her. startled she says “ Your awake good, how are you feeling.”
the gray mare replies “ I'm sorry for last night.”
Twilight looks at her and says “ there is no reason to be sorry it’s not your fault, I’ll get the girls.”
Octavia sighs and responds. “ Ok and really I’m sorry.”

this is my first ever fanfic so any tips for future ones would help a lot
Octavia rises from her bed and walks to the washroom, when she arrives she looks at her self in the mirror as she does this she hers a firm female voice yelling for her from outside. “Octavia dear are you awake, if you are could you please be a dear and come to the door for me!.”
Octavia gradually walks out of the washroom and towards the door, she sighs and puts on a smile before opening. as she opens the door she replies to the mare outside. “ Rarity what a lovely surprise, I didn’t expect to see you today, for the third time this week.” Octavia says with showing annoyance on her face as she does.
Rarity looks at her with a smile pretending not to notice. She replies to the gray mare “ Thank you dear may I come in, I know have been coming by a lot recently but, well I'm worried about you dear you understand don’t you.”
Octavia moves out of the way to allow Rarity to go in knowing that if she turns her down she will just be back later. after this she follows her into the kitchen. Rarity immediately looking in the cabinets for something opens them one by one. Octavia looks at her and says. “ Rarity if your looking for alcohol there hasn’t been any in this house since you took it all when you took me home from the hospital three days ago.”
Rarity turning around towards Octavia and giving her a smile replies. “ I know dear but you can never be to careful about these things.” she turns back around and heads for a cabinet in the living room she grabs the handle and starts opening it, Octavia noticing shouts at her
“Wait Rarity don’t open that.” as the gray mare says this Rarity opens the cabinet and is shocked by what she sees. she sees three picture frames in the cabinet, The one in the middle is a picture of Octavia and vinyl on their wedding day, The one on the left has a blue stallion and the one on the right has a picture of a black stallion. Rarity picking up the picture frame in the middle ask with a sorrowful look.
“ Octavia dear, could you tell me what happened to them.” Octavia looking at Rarity surprised by what she has asked. Octavia walks over to the couch and reaches for a table on the side with drawer, she opens it and pulls out a pack of cigarettes' and matches, she opens the pack of cigarettes’ and puts on in her mouth then pulls out a match and strikes it then lights the cigarette.
she inhales and a puff of smoke leaves her mouth, Octavia sighs and looks at Rarity “Sit. I’ll tell you how I lost them” Octavia looks at the picture rarity is holding. “Vinyl died only a few years ago to a heart disease, The doctors did all they could they even told me my heart could save her, but vinyl didn’t want my heart she didn’t want to lose me but if she didn’t I would lose her.” Octavia tearing up continues. “ 6 months is all she had, i Kept telling her my heart would work but she didn’t want to hear it, days went by and she kept getting worse and worse it was so bad the doctors couldn’t do anything so all we could do was wait, When her final days were approaching she wanted to spend them with me and our friends.” Octavia stopping as tears cover the couch Rarity comes forth and hugs her.
“It’s ok dear, It’s ok” Rarity holding her for what seemed like minutes, she finally let go. Octavia kept telling her what happened.
“me, bon bon, lyra, derpy, sherlock and carrot top were with her in her final days. she died on the same hill where we first confessed our love for each other, she said her goodbyes as she knew her time was coming, the last things she told me was. Octy you know i love you right, nothing can change that and never stop playing your beautiful music. She died moments after that the doctors of course where there knowing it was time.” Octavia now fulling crying looks at rarity and asked “ c-can we continue later please, i would like some rest.”
Rarity looked at her and replied “ Of course dear, i’ll be back tomorrow flutters will come by and check on you.” as Rarity leaves Octavia enters a deep sleep Only to wake in a nightmare.
