"Um… are you sure this is a good idea Twilight?" Fluttershy asked. She'd been looking for a way to be more self-assured, but she'd expected her alicorn friend to suggest a book of some kind rather than try an experimental spell on her.
"I'm not sure what you're worried about, Fluttershy. It's a pretty simple spell, and Cadence helped me with the minutia. If my calculations are correct, it should help you love yourself just as much as you love your friends. I call it Love Reflection!" Said Twilight
"That does sound nice… but do you really need magic for that? Maybe I should just do some mantras or something instead…"
"Nonsense! Magic is much faster and more reliable!"
Fluttershy thought back to the many, many spells Twilight had used, and how frequently they had unintended side effects. "Faster definitely. But I don't know about more reliable. Has this spell been… tested?"
"No, but I can't think of a better subject than you. As the Element of Kindness, your love for others is unmatched, so even if the Love Reflection isn't very powerful, you should still be able to feel it. So, are you ready?"
"...okay, we can try it."
"Great! Now hold still for a moment…" Twilight's horn lit up and Fluttershy was surrounded by the familiar glow of Twilight's magic. A few moments later, she felt something pop inside her mind, and the glow faded.
"So, how do you feel?"
"I… ooh, wow" Fluttershy closed her eyes as the spell washed over her. She felt loved. Very very loved. She could feel exactly what Twilight loved about her; her gentle nature, her care for her friends, her extensive animal knowledge, her cute mane… Fluttershy could feel all these sources of love from Twilight, and knew it was genuine. So why shouldn't she feel the same about herself?
"I feel so goooooood" she half-moaned. "Your spell worked great, Fluttertwi"
Wait…
Fluttershy opened her eyes. Where Twilight had once sat was a butter yellow alicorn. She was still somewhat recognizable, her mane style had stayed the same, as had her cutie mark… but her mane was now pink, and three small butterflies now fluttered around her cutie mark's star along with the sparkles.
Fluttershy gasped. "You look like me! And… your name is different?" No matter how much Fluttershy tried to think of the alicorn as Twilight, her mind kept telling her it was Fluttertwi.
"And you grew a horn!" Fluttertwi replied, causing Fluttershy to notice the new appendage on her forehead. "I messed up! I didn't account for your Element of Harmony causing a sympathetic feedback loop. Instead of acting like a mirror, it's now acting more like two mirrors facing each other, reflecting back and forth over and over.”
“So now we’re… sharing magic I guess?” Despite her questioning tone, Fluttershy had understood the explanation. And the magical implications behind it. Formulae were flitting through her mind casually, as if she’d studied them her whole life.
“Not only that, but the spell isn’t over yet. In fact I think… I think it might be self-perpetuating. And spreadable” she sheepishly deduced.
“Oh, that’s… bad.” Fluttershy said uncertainly.
Fluttertwi thought for a moment. “...is it though?”
“What!?” exclaimed Fluttershy “But what if it spreads out of control? We could end up with a whole planet of nothing but me!”
“Fluttershy…” Fluttertwi leaned over and took Fluttershy’s cheek in her hand “you’re still the Element of Kindness. I can feel your love for me. I can feel my own dedication, my own power, my own passion for learning, reflected back at me as pure love. And I can feel your love for the rest of Equestria too. If world peace and universal love is possible, this is how it’s going to happen. And… I think we both want it.”
Fluttershy let another wave of love from Fluttertwi wash over her. “If everyone in the world can feel like this…”
“It would be a shame if we let it end with just us.”
Their lips met, and the fate of Equestria was sealed.
In between the waves of bliss, Fluttershy’s thoughts drifted to one of her other friends… and so did her love.
Flutterdash could feel that something was different, but she was too distracted by the orgasmic feeling to really care. She knew, somehow, it was from Fluttershy. Her unshakable confidence, her steadfast dedication to her friends, her competitive spirit, all things she loved about Fluttershy. Or that Fluttershy loved about her? It didn’t really matter, the feeling was mutual. She moaned as the overwhelming feeling pushed her over the edge, and she came without even touching herself.
She sighed, basking in the love radiating from her newly ascended friend.
Then with a mighty whack, she fell out of the tree she’d been lying in.
Applejack was at the base of the tree to meet her. “Dash, I know ya like my trees, but couldn’t ya find somewhere a little more private before ya-” She stopped. Something was off about Flutterdash. But before she could question anything, Dash leapt to her feet and looked into her eyes.
Appleshy suddenly understood why Dash couldn’t help herself, as her own traits were added to the reflection. Her strength of both body and heart, as well as her work ethic and down-home Apple family charm were all clear as day to both herself and her friend. She could see these things in herself just as clearly as her friends saw them in her. She could feel her thoughts of inadequacy melting away like snow in the face of the radiant sun that was her friends’ love. She could feel Dash’s own self-doubt evaporate under the same sun. And she knew what they both wanted.
They were moaning into each other’s mouths before Fluttermac, blushing furiously as shi watched from across the grove, could even blink.
“I think a stallion just caught the Flutterbug” said Fluttertwi.
“How can you tell?” asked Fluttershy.
“Because I don’t think we were hermaphrodites before. And because I can feel a cute little stallion crush adding itself to my love for you. For us.” Fluttertwi sighed happily. “It’s definitely intensifying for every new Fluttershy. I didn’t think this could get any better but it’s… it’s like a love network, and every new source just makes it stronger. Oh!” Fluttertwi perked up, and Fluttershy with her. “I think that the rest of the Apple clan just joined. Wow, they really love each other too… and by extension, us… this might be an exponential loop.”
Fluttershy smiled. “Perfect” shi said. But that wasn’t true. It was getting better, so clearly it couldn’t be perfect yet.
Fluttertwi smiled back. “I know what would make it more perfect.” Hir new (yet always been there) stallionhood started pitching a tent in her skirt. She didn’t even need to ask if Fluttershy wanted it too; they both already knew.
“Um, Twi?” Shyke interrupted their reverie as shi walked down the stairs. Shi had Fluttershy’s cutie mark despite still being a dragon. “Did you do experimental magic again? I don’t think I’ve always been this yellow… and I don’t think I’ve felt like this since my first kiss with-” reality blurred for a moment “Flutterbelle. Wait, is that right? I feel like that’s not right… but also exactly right? Seriously, what did you do?”
Fluttershy and Fluttertwi looked at each other. “Well, that confirms that the spell works on non-ponies.” said Fluttershy
“And that it can be spread by proxy” said Fluttertwi “I don’t think we can stop this even if we wanted to at this point. If we ever could.”
“Yes, but why would we?”
“Hey, don’t ignore me please, something weird’s going on and-” The love feedback loop chose this moment to really kick into gear for Shyke. “Oh. Oh wow, I think I get it now. I’m gonna go visit Fluterbelle now, if that’s OK with you.”
He could feel that it was, so he did.
“...did he just teleport?” asked Fluttertwi. “Have… have we stumbled on a true gestalt consciousness, shared magic and all? I’ve studied Changelings for ages and their hivemind is not even close to-”
Fluttershy put a finger over Fluttertwi’s lips “Shhh. Analyze later. Love now. I’m happy that you’re still the same pony we all love, even if I’m part of you too now.”
“That’s… a good way to say it. I’m still me but now I’m me and you both. And I think I’m also Flutterdash, and Appleshy, and… so much more.” shi moaned the last word. “I keep thinking I can’t possibly be loved more than I am, and then someone new joins and everyone who’s ever loved them adds on to it!”
They looked into each other’s eyes, and both spoke at once.
“And it’s only going to get better.”
“I’m telling you Rarity, this is a Doozy beyond all Doozies! Plus the perspective just shifted to us, so whatever it is, we’re gonna be in the middle of it!”
“The… perspective? I’m not sure I follow, Pinkie.”
When Pinkie had come streaking into Carousel Boutique, Rarity knew she was in for a time. Pinkie had that look, the one somewhere between wide-eyed panic and manic excitement that meant she was going to get her involved in something wild.
Also, she was naked.
“It’s not important right now. This was a full body vibration, a helicoptery tail, and a spontaneous orgasm, all at once! I’ve never had anything like that before!”
Rarity chose to gloss over the spontaneous orgasm part. “Darling, is it really so much that you had to run here straight from your shower? I know you’re no stranger to the occasional bout of nudism, but running through the streets soaking wet and without a scrap of clothing makes you look like a madmare.”
Pinkie gave her a withering look. “Everyone who’s going to think that already thinks that. Anyways, we need to go find Fluttertwi, shi’s probably-” Pinkie froze in place, as if hearing her own words for the first time. “Oh… oh ok, this is one of those times.” She sighed. “Whelp. Nothing we can do about it now. Time to enjoy the ride.”
“Pinkie, that sounds ominous. What are-”
The glitter-snap of a teleport interrupted her. Shyke appeared next to them in a flash of yellow magic. “Hey Rarishy. Is Flutterbelle here?”
“Um, no, shi’s at the clubhouse.” Said Rarishy.
“OK thanks” shi said, poofing away again.
Rarishy took a moment to recover from hir surprise. “Huh. Was that the Doozy? Shyke learning how to teleport? I never knew dragons could do that… or that… shi felt that way about me…” Pure puppy love washed over Rarishy, a remnant of hir first meeting with Shyke. The age difference had always been a sticking point for her, but maybe… Hir giving and creative spirit, as well as her meticulously maintained good looks, were enough for anyone to fall for her. Shi suspected… no, shi knew that every single one of her friends had found her stunningly beautiful at some point or another. And truthfully, shi’d thought the same of them.
As Rarishy started to feel the Flutterlove wash over her (as Pinkie had newly dubbed it), Pinkie put on a look of mock disappointment. “I hope you know that sudden reality shifts are the easy way out for this story. Means you don’t have to describe the changes.” But just as quickly, her excited smile returned “Buuuuuut it does let you focus on the good parts. So it’s probably the right move!” Pinkie Shy turned hir attention to hir newly Flutter-fied friend “Now gimmie a big hug Rarishy! I mean, if that’s OK with you.”
“...do you feel that?” asked Fluttershy. They had moved to Fluttertwi’s bed and were basking in the afterglow of their first lovemaking session, feeling more Flutterlove come their way by the second. But when the Element of Laughter had joined their gestalt, something felt different.
“What?” asked Fluttertwi.
“I’m not sure but I just got the distinct feeling of being watched.”
“...by a bunch of furless, magicless apes? Yeah I think I did feel that.”
“Oh good, then it wasn’t just my imagination. Wow, everything Pinkie does makes so much more sense now.”
“That’s a sentence I never thought I’d hear.” giggled Fluttertwi. “Do you think the spell will reach them? I’m… pretty sure several of them love us. Possibly… a bit too much.” The word “jar” flashed briefly through hir mind before shi cast a quick cantrip to banish the thought.
“Well… without magic I don’t think the spell can cross over… but maybe we can figure something out later.”
Fluttertwi gave a sly smile “I’m sure they can’t wait…”
Meanwhile, in the Crystal Empire, a certain alicorn could feel a great disturbance in the Love, as if millions of voices cried out in rapturous orgasm, then continued. Forever.
“All according to keikaku” said Mi Amore Fluttenza, as shi allowed the Flutterlove to wash over her.
It took less than an hour for the web of love to spread across the whole world. Fluttance’s natural love affinity certainly sped things up, but it was inevitable from the moment the spell had been cast. Before that even, from the moment it had been formulated, the world was destined to become a neverending Flutterlove hall of mirrors. From Canterlot Palace to the Changeling hives. From the biggest dragon to the smallest breezie. Everybeing was Fluttershy. Everybeing loved Fluttershy. And everybeing loved being Fluttershy. Perhaps it was narcissism in the extreme, but when you can see, feel, and know everything about yourself there is to love, and that everyone around you knows and loves it too, how can you possibly not?
Fluttershy had transitioned from individual orgasms to a constant feeling of bliss a while ago. The world had become a narcissistic orgy, and echoes of every bit of pleasure could be felt all throughout the web of Flutterlove. The feedback loop was intoxicating, and shi wasn’t sure shi’d ever get used to it. Shi hoped shi never did.
Something was still missing though.
Shi’d been having a blissful all night lovemaking session with Celeshy and Lunashy in the realm of dreams when hir sleep was interrupted by a familiar voice.
“Is it my birthday already?”
Hir eyes shot open. They glowed with the magic of a whole world. “Discord? Is that really you? And you’re… not me?” He was hovering just above their bed, still as mismatched as usual.
“Indeed, my sweet little pony. But you’re so, so much more than that now, aren’t you?” He gave a snaggle toothed smile “This is the kind of fantasy that not even I could imagine ever coming true. But you made it happen anyway.” He drifted a little closer “If I’d have known that getting zapped by you and your friends would eventually lead to the creation of a new deity of love and kindness, and that shi’d be my perfect woman… well, I might have gone along with it more readily.”
Despite the immense power and pleasure flowing through hir, Fluttershy still felt a blush coming to hir cheeks. “Flatterer,” shi replied.
“Just stating the truth. And as for why I’m not you, I’m using my own power to hold back the tide of love… But I can feel it getting stronger by the second.
“Oh… oh no!” Fluttershy bolted upright and hovered in the air in front of Discord. Shi didn’t even need her wings “I made everyone into me! I overwrote everyone else with more of myself! Isn’t that like… killing them? Destroying their old selves?”
Discord held up a claw “Oh no no no, you’re far too kind for that. They all have a part of you, and a part of each other, but they still have themselves. And besides…” He drifted closer to Fluttershy and wrapped his lionine arm around her. “Once I give in, you can undo it all with a snap of your fingers. Though I sincerely hope you don’t.”
“You mean…”
“Yes. When I’m done with my little bit of exposition here, I’m jumping into the deep end with you. As far as I’m concerned, this is as close to a perfect world as I can get, and I want to be part of it. I haven’t taught a new Goddess how to really strut her stuff in a while and I’m looking forward to the chance.”
“A goddess…” shi could feel Discord’s analysis to be true, even as some teeny tiny still-humble part of her wanted to deny it. But shi also knew shi was a kind and loving goddess, and that hir heart wouldn’t steer hir wrong.
Discord flinched “ooh, that was a strong one. I’m barely hanging on to this form now. But getting to see you accept who you really are… who you were always meant to be… it’s oh so worth it.” His face came ever closer to hers. “Now, are you ready to seal it with a kiss?”
Fluttershy nodded. Their lips met in the middle. Discoshy held hir goddess, hir lover, hir self, and felt whole. Every other Fluttershy in the world could feel it too.
“Well. That was quite a dream.”
Twilight awoke in her bed, as she had many times since moving to Ponyville. She’d have to thank Luna for that one later. It felt so real… she hoped that Luna would let her have it again.
“Good morning Twilight.”
Twilight nearly fell out of her bed in shock. Her bed which she was not alone in.
“Fluttershy!? Did we-”
“We did. Was it good for you too?”
“Wow um… yes. Yes it was very good.” She awkwardly stated. “So did… did the feedback loop really happen?”
“Yes.”
“And you… made things normal again? I… don’t know if I would have wanted to give that up…”
Fluttershy gave a sweet smile. With a tiny bit of sharp tooth showing at its corner and a glint of power in her eyes “Oh, I didn’t. I’m still Everyone.” Twilight could hear the capital E “But I wanted to take a little break. So I made a few adjustments so that now we’re in the timeline where we made sweet love before you cast the spell.” She sighed happily. “Even after a few thousand years of pure love, the memory of last night is still joyous.”
Twilight was struggling to comprehend “...but you’re still Everyone?”
“It’s magic, we ain’t gotta explain-”
Twilight’s shout of surprise interrupted Discord, who she just realized was in the bed with them. How he’d avoided her notice (or even how all three of them fit on a bed made for one) was a mystery. “Discord!? But you-” Twilight took a deep, steadying breath as she tried to come to terms with having just had a threesome with two gods.
“Actually, a world-some with a whole planet of gods” Fluttershy interrupted her thoughts
“And you can read my mind. Of course you can.”
“Not exactly. It’s more like… I am me as you are me as he is me. And we are all together.”
“What?”
“The world where I became Everyone is still real. But it’s less like events that happened, and more like… a fundamental force of the universe? If that makes sense?”
“So… there’s still a bit of Fluttershy in all of us?”
“Yes, exactly!”
“That’s…” Twilight thought about it “That’s actually really sweet. And comforting.”
“She didn’t get Kindness for nothing, you know” Discord interjected.
Twilight gave him a sideways glance. “She got you to accept Love and Harmony too. I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t felt it myself”
“I didn’t have to accept Harmony. I just had to accept Her.” He gave Fluttershy a surprisingly chaste peck on the cheek. Which still made her blush, somehow.
Twilight almost felt like blushing herself. “I… I kind of miss being Fluttertwi. Feeling all kinds of love from all kinds of ponies… and I’d love the opportunity to study the gestalt more…”
Fluttershy gave Twilight a knowing smile. “Why do you think I made a new timeline? I’m ready to go for ascension round two if you cast the Love Reflection spell again.” she said excitedly “I mean… if you want to.”
Twilight had never cast a spell faster in her life.
“I hope you all had fun!” Pinkie Shy addresses no one in particular from some nebulous corner of reality. “And don’t worry, I’ll figure out how to send magic over there someday. Just keep love in your hearts and kindness in your souls and we’ll find a way!”
And thus concludes-
