*FIVE YEARS LATER*

For the past five years, Nightmare Moon ruled over Equestria with an iron hoof. Her reign only strengthened when she gave birth to her six alicorn daughters. The would-be heroes becoming alicorns didn't surprise Nightmare Moon too much. However, for them to take on a color scheme similar to herself was somewhat of a surprise. They still had traces of their previous lives. Nightmare Moon called her daughters her little nightmares as a whole, but decided to call each one of them by their original names. Once her daughters had turned five years old, Nightmare Moon's reach had extended to the Crystal Empire, Yakyakistan, and even to Griffinstone. A frightened piece fell upon the land. Ponies did their best to stay on Nightmare Moon’s good. Those who didn’t were either banished or eaten by Nightmare Moon. For one unfortunate pony, they had a far worse fate. Her name was Sunset Shimmer. She was once Celestia’s student before Twilight Sparkle. Sunset was caught trying to steal a magical relic from her private vault. Instead of just locking her up or eating her, Nightmare Moon decided to add her to her special family. Sunset did her best to escape but eventually she found herself trapped inside of Nightmare Moon’s womb. The last thing she heard was Nightmare Moon saying,

“Welcome to the family, little one.”
