Chapters EQG Yu-Gi-Oh War of Light and Darkness Strength and Friendship

hello everyone you all already know I love MLP and particularly EQG but I also love yugioh all the animes and of course the TCG/OCG for you InFamous fanfic fans I am not giving up on my fanfic there or worse put it on hiatus I will work on both these fanfics at the same time and releasing chapters one after another. So when a chapter of Yugioh is posted the next chapter will be the Infamous One. Anyway this is a typical My OC jeane in EQG fanfic but I hope to add that yugioh style. Also I will try to follow the rules of the TCG but for drama I will bend them slightly. Also both me and my characters arent genius duelists and thus misplays will be a thing but I will try to keep them at a minimum or if they are part of the story because of the characters personality/mindset or circumstances of the duel. Anyway its time to D-D-D-Duel.
What do you desire
Jeane felt his back slam against the brick wall of his school building. He had initially come in for orientation and was about to go home on foot. His brother raito had texted him and said he would pick him up but jeane just wanted to go home so he decided to walk home.
But of course he couldn't just walk home without a complication. His life is full of complications.
Today for example. The boy had been blindspotted by a rabbit punch from his middle school Bullies Snips and Snails.
Snips would be considered the brains of the duo but that would imply he had any brains… though he did have slightly more then snails.
Snails was a everyman who was easily influenced by someone who is smarter or who he looks up to like his childhood friend Snips.
Snips was a light blue skinned boy with a messy bed of spiky orange hair, he wore his signature scissor T-shirt which fit his background because his dad was a famous salon owner and was popular with all the moms in canterlot for his good conversation skills and expert precision in hairstyling. The boy was squat at a mere 4 feet even jeane who was also small stood a whole foot over him. He wore a grimace showing off his bucktooth stretching his fingers.
Snails was the opposite in appearance to his friend, he was six foot even but had no muscle mass or even any fat he was a tall twig but tat didn't mean he didn't punch good, it was more like a getting hit by a swarm of wasps rather then a ton of bricks from his friend. He had comeover green hair with two spikes formed from his in the back. He usually wore green sweate with a purple snail on the breast, his favorite food and animal to learn about but today due to it being warm he wore an orange over shirt and khaki shorts. He blocked jeanes retreat by standing in the way, a goofy smile on his face.
"Ouch, what did I do this time?" it was same to assume he did something to them as they usually didn't outright attack him due to their best friend/adopted sister being very clear on what they can do to jeane and get away with… jeane was scared of her but even more scared of the fact that she had dropped out of canterlot after her parents passed and managed to get a huge inheritance on top of the courts recognizing her as an adult.
Sometimes jeane thinks that she took in the two boys because she gets a huge check and can have someone to boss around.
"You told the teacher we cheated off you." Snips tried to sound intimidating but his high pitched voice made it hard.
"But, the school year doesn't start until monday?" Jeane questioned when he could have possibly told the teacher then he remembered. "and you meant last semester didn't you?"
Snips slapped the boy sending him to his knees.
"Is that a yes snips?" Snails asked in his goofy voice.
"Yes snails, that was a yes?" Snips replied deadpan. "Now why did you tell the teacher."
Jeane remembered why, the teacher noticed that his and the two bullies parents were perfectly indentical right down to the same three answers being wronged this being one of the rare times jeane didn't get a perfect score which his dad let him hear about when he got home.
"The teacher asked me if I let you cheat. She said that someone else told her they saw you cheating off me and I didn't do anything. I had to tell the truth or my grade would've suffered too, she was already gonna take points off your score."
"Then you shoud've kept your mouth shut and failed too. We had to go to summer school because of you." Snips remarked grabbing Jeane by the side of his shirt and throw him into the wall again, the boy gasped and felt his side hurt.
"it wasnt all bad miss cheerilee was teaching and she was always nice." Snails flushed, his infatuation with big macintosh apples girlfriend was well known and not taken seriously by the adults and considered a mix of creepy and normal depending on who you ask.
"Yeah, she was nice but we still had to lose our whole summer because of this snitch boy." Snips gritted his teeth and clenched his fists ready to strike.
"Wait Snips." Snails said, never losing his goofy grin. "Sissie said that we weren't supposed to do any damage."
Snips snapped his finger fast. "Right, I forgot that was today. Im such a dunce, you wont tell her will you snails, I cannot miss out on dessert again."
Snails shakes his head then stops as if realizing that he said no and nodded his instead.
"Cool but how do we teach this guy a lesson without damaging him?"
Both Snips and snails scratched their heads, pondering for a few minutes.
"I got it, we'll do a good old nerd bully salute."
"Which one was that again?"
"You know, underwear tied to the flagpole with him attached, lift him up the flag pole then leave him there." Snips whispered a little too loudly.
"im afraid I cant allow you to do that." A calm voice said.
All three heads turned toward the source of the voice seeing a figure shaded by sunlight. Once their vision set they saw the big man on campus.
Raito Umbra… Jeanes older brother.
Both snips and snails shook in fear unaware that Jeane was doing that on the inside.
"Raito, we was just fooling around with your bro. We weren't gonna do that mean stuff." Snips quivered.
Unafraid snails raised eyebrow then looked at snips. "We weren't?"
Snips elbowed his surrogate brother who gasped out.
"Yeah, we weren't," he corrected.
Raitos gaze born down on them, his golden eyes bearing into the three then setting on jeane, a look disgust on his perfect white skin. He and jeane looked completely different.
Jeane had purple skin like their mother with pixie cut black hair and usually wore all black with no images on it.
Raito dressed in a white short sleeve shirt and pants complete with a gold vest, his blonde hair cut in a spiky style with a part of covering his left eye.
Raito scoffed as he took a single step toward Jeane.
Both Snips and Snails took two steps back and away from Raito.
Raito continued taking several steps toward jeane and the two bullies took twice as many steps away.
"What happens between you and my brother is your business but I require him so your business with him today is done… pick this up tommorrow if it is really important."
Both Snips and Snails nodded their heads and fled… raito has that effect on people.
The golden boy of canterlot high and the umbra stood over the black sheep of canterlot middle and the family.
Raito face bore no joy or emotion, exuding a dominant aura jeane could never hope to meet his eye.
"let's go." Raito turned stepping away from jeane like he wasnt there.
The boy followed after his brother keeping his pace even and his head down.
After they reached the parking lot the silence was too much for the young boy and the shock of being bullied was overpowered by his need to speak.
"Thank you for saving me raito." He finally said.
Raito stopped abruptly forcing jeane to nearly fall down as he was too close to him then took a step back.
"I needed you, so I grabbed you. If you wish to believe I saved you then that Is your problem. Now get in the car." raito's voice never raised nor lowered when he talked but whenever he said something it would be foolish to not listen and if you were jeane, you had to obey.
The boy opened the door and sat inside Raito's Stingray Corvette which was brand new and bought to celebrate him graduating. The boy had had a license since he was 15 and would normally drive their dads rolls royce but was given a new car in honor for his graduation.
Jeane sat down in the car and closed door. Fastening his seatbelt and remaining perfectly still.
Raito turned the key and they exiting the parking lot.
Raito drove down the street, the tinted windows making it hard to see anywhere but forward and sun nearly blinded Jeane.
The carride was in silence for a few minutes before raito spoke.
"you know if you let scum like that push you around it will make you more of target then you already are."
"What are you talking about?"
"You know I plan to become a pro duelist and I have put in my summer record for winter regionals and I know I will make it. I fought over a hundred duels during my time in school from elementary to high and I have only lost three times. Even despite those three failures I am still considered the greatest duelist in Canterlot and now that im no longer allowed in school tournaments and the friendship games there will be many who wish to make a name for themselves and take petty revenge by beating you due to the misfortune that we share blood so you are a target and about to face a storm… I only tell you this… because our family cant suffer any more embarassment from you."
Jeane turned his head down. "I understand."
"I hope you do. Because if you truly care about this family then you would either make sure to live up to our standards or runaway, go to the next state, and jump off the tallest building that way we don't have to deal with you."
The boy felt each word like an icy dagger in his heart but he knew that this wasnt just raitos opinion both he and his father were the same in their regards for jeane and his happiness.
"I understand Raito." The boy noticed they missed their turn and jeane noticed his brother was driving further into the city proper instead of umbra manor in he clouds community.
The boy turned to his brother. "Rai, where are we going?"
Raito continued driving.
Jeane turned his head downward.
The two boys drove into they came to the duel arenas each one maintained by one of the three richest families in canterlot including The Belles, the riches, and the umbras… his family.
Raito pulled up to the parking lot of the umbras made duel arena. Stopping the car he turned to jeane. "Out." He ordered
Jeane did so and then raito threw him something.
Jeane tried to catch it but fumbled and it felt to the ground with a crash. Jeane noticed that it was the leather deck box with a sun and moon on it… his deck box.
"Are we having a duel?" Jeane asked nervously.
Raito says nothing as he goes into the employee entrance. "Get in."
Jeane nodded his head and entered into a stairwell. The two brothers walked down the stairs until they reached the bottom of the duel arena where the families personal duel stadium lay.
This arena was for the family to use for their friends and personal duels.
Raito pressed a button and on command the lights arrived revealing the duel field which was half the size of a football field with 10 zones on each side which would light up when the arena was on and two zones in the center. The arena had walls surrounding it and platforms on either side which had a miniature zones where you put your cards.
Jeane looked up to see standing in the other platform a familiar face with a dark smile on her face.
"Sunset shimmer? What is she doing here?" Jeane looked up at sunset shimmer, the adoptive sister of snips and snails, heiress and owner of the golden sun mall which added to her vast fortune.
She waved him with her fingers and smiled.
Raito turned to his brother.
"Rai what is going on? What is all this."
"I am not the only one tired of you giving our family a bad name. Father is as well. He initially wanted to send you to boarding school so he wouldnt have to deal with you but sunset shimmer made a better deal. She offered the family a sizable sum in exchange for a marriage contract between you and her which would mean that you would live with her and be in her care until you graduate and be her husband."
A flash of anger made jeane do the unthinkable.
"I wont marry her! You cant make me." Jeane covered his mouth almost instantly.
Raito raised and eyebrow then for the first time he smirked.
"Good. Our mother as soft as a only a mother can be would not allow father to just sell you off so he madea deal with her he'd give you a chance to show you arent dead weight. You asked me if we were here to duel, that is incorrect… you are here to duel. Win and you don't have to marry sunset, lose and we wont have to deal with you… either way we get our money."
Jeane couldn't believe his brother would say such a thing. They use to be close but for him to do him like this.
"Cant you duel for me… like old times."
Raitos smirk turned into a frown. "I have interfered in your affairs for the last time. You are a leech on our family and unlike mother I wont allow you use me for your own sustenance. Either win or get out… those are your options. Goodbye jeane, when the duel is over if you win call mother to pick you… im going home."
Raito walked past jeane who fell to his knees shook by the revelation.
They sold me… like a pig. He felt anger which gave way to sadness. Do they hate me so much that they would take money to get rid of me.
Tears came to the boys eye.
I cant run back home, dad would just force me to marry her, I could run away but I don't have money or survival skills… im worthless.
A spark hit in jeanes head and he could hear the whispers. He looked up to the top bleachers of the arena where he could swear he could see a man in the shadow. Before he could say anything a voice appeared in his head.
What do you desire?
Jeane felt the voice come like an old friend.
What do you desire, Jeane Umbra, Son of the nightmare and the king
I… I don't… he lied to himself. He knew what he wanted but he knew it was too good for him. He knew he would never it have it not while his brother was so exceptional and his father so important.
What do you desire! The voice demanded.
I… I desire… no I want friends, people who like me for me and not just who I am.
To get what you want, you must prove to me that you are worthy of it son of light and shadow. So like the ancient pharoahs in the past you will fight with your future on the line… do you accept this duel with her.
"Yes…" Jeane saw he was now one duel platform. His deck on the zone and the lights glowing up.
"still playing hard to get huh. Well ive waited for 5 years now, I can wait 5 minutes… lets do this darling." Sunset said taking off her black biker jacket letting fly to floor showing her orange shirt with the golden sun on it. Her gold and orange hair like fire flow.
Jeane could swear he could see a flame like aura protruding from her and he could feel the heat from her like a distant sun.
Jeane didn't notice that his body also exuded a purplish black aura which was just as potent.
Both sides met each others gaze and had one word for each other.
Duel!

alright first duel of the game and I just want to say I love my readers. You guys are so support and I just cant believe how cool you all are. Especially on fimfiction you guys are great but I want to give credit where credit is due. The decklists I am using are on the typical yugioh decklist sites and the idea for this fanfic comes from the following stories: the overplot of gx, my favorite yugioh series but they are all great and from the stories of Mechatomx who is currently writing a spike duel monsters story and is the most awesome TCG/Collectible Game fanfic writer In the world and a great spike writer… love his work is what im saying and the stories duelist of the autumn crown and duelist of the friendship cup by drakey c which are not just great retellings of the equastria girls movies namely the first one and friendship games with yugioh added in they also have a title that only a few of my stories have earned and a lot better stories deserve… they are complete. Trial by fire
The lights shut off sending both teens into darkness.
Jeane reached his hand to his deck letting out a sigh.
Do or die moment, I can win this. Its only sunset shimmer… the five time calvacade semifinalist and one of the few duel monsters players who your brother actually puts effort in to beat… not a lot but still more then most… more then you.
"you're too tense." Sunset purred. "I'll order a masseuse when we get home… our home." she giggled creepily.
Jeane was glad he couldn't see her in the dark.
The duel platform lit up with technicolor light dimly illuminating the arena in neon light. Jeane's zones were outlined in that light and his deck zone glowed green indicating he draw his opening hand.
Duel commencing, turn selection process complete. First turn Sunset Shimmer, duel!
"Don't worry sweetie I'll make this fast. Don't want to embarrass you." Sunset teased drawing five cards.
Jeane did the same, he could hardly keep his hands from shaking as he took a big gulp.
He looked at his hand and then noticed that he had a workable hand and one who has a lot of combo starters.
In modern yugioh setting up combos is important especially for Jeane's deck.
"I start off this battle for your heart by summoning Salamangreat Gazelle in attack mode."
The hologram showed a black deer with fire coming out of silver harness all over its body.
Sunset cooed cutely. "you know jeane, this card reminds me of you. Its all sweet and innocent and all it takes is a little support to become what it is meant to be. That support comes from it's effect. I send Salamangreat Spinny to grave from Gazelle effect (1500/1000).
Here it comes the salamangreat combo. Now she is gonna summon spinny but the question is whether she is gonna link summon which is what her archetypes extra deck should specialize in or if she is Gonna Xyz summon for megastallio… she doesn't have any of the fusions as those are coming in winter for the christmas season.
"I activate spinny effect in grave as long as I control a Salamangreat I can special summon it to my side of the field and since it was sent to the grave by my salamangreat monster I can ignore the effect that banishes It when it is destroyed which means my spinny is gonna be here for the entirety of this duel." Sunset gloated then she raised her hand to the sky the hologram of red and black armadillo creature rolled up in a ball appeared on the field (1000/1500).
"Now I Link summon my Spinny to summon the blazing feline of burning temptation… Salamangreat Balelynx." Spinny's body became an orb of light and shot up to an orange vortex like an inferno and in its place was a blue cat with a burning fire tail (500/link-1).
"Now effect of Exceed Paralell Dragon from my hand. Since I link summoned a monster this turn and there is a an open zone which my balelynx points too I can special summon it though its attack and defense is halved as well its level." A white and serpentine dragon hologram appears staring toward the boy and then a red energy aura covered it and it writhed in pain as it shrunk slighty (1000/1000, Level 4).
"and I'm not done yet cutie-pie. I activate the spell card Salamangreat circle to bring Salamangreat Meer to hand." Sunset's deck sunk into the platform, the ruffling of cards as the card she needed shot out of slot under the zone area. Sunsets deck reappeared.
"Since I added Meer to hand without drawing it I can activate effect to reveal it and special summon it to field." the otterlike orange skinned creature had a burning fire striping down its back (800/600).
"I'm almost done my darling then you can have your turn but I suggest you forfeit so we can get home for supper. I'm thinking sugarcube corner tommorrow so we can celebrate our union. I link summon using Xceed dragon as the material to summon Linguriboh" a small black bomblike creature with a green clock face that had two big but serious anime eyes glared at jeane as its fuse light and small sparks flew from its top (300/link-1).
Damn guess we are using classic tournament rules. Meaning that you can summon any extra deck monster to any of your zones as long as they are not occupied. The boy felt the heat sunsets aura overwhelmed him. I need water… god it's so hot… is this part of the systems programming.
"I end my turn by setting a single face down… your turn handsome." Sunset blew the boy kiss and smirked.
Jeane drew his card and noticed it was Performage Trick clown. Okay this can be useful.
"I start my turn by Summoning the mathamatician monster card in attack mode." Jeane slammed the card on the zone then felt all the base leave his voice as he saw it landed on the back row which is for spells/traps. He fixed his mistake, embarrassed.
The holgram showed sparks of light which gave way to a man who seemed a dwarf in a wizard robe with math symbols on it and a staff which had a plus sign topper and wore glasses which hid his eyes. (1500/500)
"Of course an adorable dork like you plays a card like that. I already know you were top of your class at middle school and passed the aptitude tests at last weeks students day with flying colors… I do love a man with both brains and beauty."
Jeane blushed at the compliment then shook his head. "I activate Mathmaticians effect to send a level 4 or lower monster from my deck to my grave."
Mathmatician began to wave his wand as a constellation of the plus symbol shifted into a minus symbol shifting finally into the roman numeral for four then blasting the ground into a vortex of math symbols into which a girl with clouds over her body, blonde hair and green eyes and dressed like an anime fantasty heroine into. The vortex remained as it began to rumble.
"That card I just sent to the grave was shaddoll Wendi and she has an effect that says if she is sent to the Graveyard by card effect I can special summon another shaddoll in either face up or face down position and I choose to summon face down shaddoll squamata." out of the in a burst of plus symbols shot a worm made of gold metal surrounding crystallized darkness which disappeared into the zone and showed as a contious golden glow showing it was a set card.
This is all I can do for now. I can destroy that balelynx but she is gonna hit me back with a better link monster so I should play defensively, luckily Mathmatician's effect will allow me to replace itself in my hand.
"I will go to my battle phase." Jeane gulped felt a chill go down his spine and unbeknownst to him as the oppressing heat of sunsets aura was drowned by a deep cold. "Mathmatician Attack Balelynx."
Mathmatician waved his wand shooting a bunch of numbers and math symbols at Balelynx surrounding it in a bind and crushing the cat as it shattered into card shards.
Sunset life points: 3000
First damage of the game, now it's time to play defensive.
"I set a facedown and pass."
this trap card should not only keep me safe but will help me when I get one of my fusion spells.
"I end my turn."
Sunset smiled at that. "Playing hard to get… I like that. It makes me covet you more."
Sunsets aura return making the heat return.
"Draw!" Sunset looks at the card in her hand and smiles. She looked at the card and by the look on her face she got just what she needed.
"I activate effect of Spinny in grave to bring It back once more." from a small flaming hole in the center of the arena the flaming armadillo rolled from it and came up. This time it was colored blue marking it as being in defense mode. (1000/1500)
"that's not all. I Use my two level 3 salamangreat monsters to Xyz summon the stallion of the inferno, come forth steed of helios… salamangreat Megastallio."
Both Spinny and the gazelle glowed for a second then became yellow orbs which ascended into the air and spun around each other.
Sunset Clasped her hand then bursting from orbs came a a gray stallion with a fiery mane and two yellow orbs hovering around the monster like moons in a gravitational pull (2000/900, Level 3, 2 materials).
"I will then use meer and linguriboh to link summon the companion of the king of flames. The wolf whose fire burns nature. I call out… salamangreat great wolf" the two monsters become red beams of light which shoot up to a square with nine arrows each in a different direction and then two of the arrows lit up as the beams went into them and out of the square came a bipedly wolf like robot creature with a flaming head. (2300/link-2)
"I then activate effect of stellio detaching a material to summon salamangreat falco from my deck in defense mode." one of the floating light orbs burst and then in the far right zone of the arena came a bird with flaming wings (1200/1600).
"He wont be here for long though as I Once again use my level 4 Xceed dragon and My recently summoned falco to Summon the joyful beast of the flame emperor… xyz summon, Bagooska"
once again the fire bird and dragon turned into orbs of light which entered a vortex this time instead of a firey monster it summoned an bipedial elephant humanoid dressed in a vest, genie pants and curly shoes with gray skin and a trunk (2100/2000, Level 4).
Just like that sunsets flame aura which grew stronger with each summon shot out and burned through the chill of Jeane's aura.
"I enter battle phase." Sunset then pointed to her monsters. "Great wolf, destroy mathmatician, incincerating fang attack"
The great wolf's claws were set aflame as it's head piston shot out bursts of of fire as he slashed the Mathmatician destroying him.
"I activate effect of Mathmatician, when he is destroyed by battle I can draw a card." Mathmatacian as he died a symbol of a plus and the roman numeral for 1 came up and the hologram of a card added to jeane's hand light up.
Perfect, this card can be used to refill my hand.
Jeane's life points: 3400
"I'm not done Yet Magestallio, attack that squamata face down. Phlegothian Stampede charge." The horse ran up and stomped it's flaming hoofs done on Squamata which throw it's puppy strings jumped and wrapped itself around Great wolf.
"What is going on with your monster. I just destroyed it."
Jeane felt himself grow sick from the heat but he felt the cold fighting to push it back. "Squamata was indeed destroyed but it has a flip effect like all my shaddoll monsters and his allows me to destroy one of your monsters. Squamata Retributive vice."
Squamata blew itself off summoning a smoke cloud which covered the whole arena.
Jeane could feel the heat being pushed back but then he felt it once again overwhelm pushing him against the platforms barricade. "What happened?"
Jeane watched as the smoke cleared and saw that not only was great wolf not destroyed but his squamata was wrapped around Balelynx.
"Activate effect of Balelynx in graveyard. I can banish it when one of my Salamangreats would be destroyed and negate the destruction." Sunset smiled.
"alright, here I come Jeane… Bagooska attack directly. Powerful Pasha Punch."
The bagooska lifted it's big fist and threw a punch at Jeane. It's fist glows in fire and punches reving up smoke like last time this time it is jeane who has a surprise.
The heat that burned his breath was repelled by the cold child and pushed It back into the center of the field.
Sunset watched as a writhing brown mass of six headed monstrous ball took the hit and burst in destruction.
"Very tricky, you set a monster trap face down. I see you aren't going down without a fight. Alright I set the card I just drew and end my turn."
Both sunset and jeanes auras fought against each other and the boy could hardly believe he survived another turn.
Whenever I use to play against raito I'd be beaten by now and even though Im scared something inside me is not letting me give up. Alright, think Jeane, what can you do to deal with her monsters.
"I draw!" Jeane's aura intensified and as he could swear the card glowed in his hand. Jeane looked at the car and his heart dropped for this card was the card that his brother gave him, a very rare card of which only nine were made and were won at big tournaments. This card which jeane could never summon as even holding it over powered him.
Could this be a sign, should I use him. The boy thought feeling the power in the card.
I want you to have this Jeane, raito's younger self repeated in his head. If you really cared about our family then you'd runaway and jump off the tallest building the next state over.
The last qoute took all his hope out and the aura was pushed back by sunsets making he heat cover jeane. I am unworthy of this card.
His aura pushed back as a wave of heat blisters over the boys skin. He closed his eyes and tried to calm himself.
"I activate the spell card… a-allure of darkness." the boy lightly slapped his card onto the field. The holgram showed two swirling purple lines in a black expanse. The hole empowered his aura and allowed it to stave off sunsets.
"now I draw two cards but if I don't banish a dark attribute monster from my hand then I have to banish my entire hand." Jeane drew too cards and noticed they were a each a copy of his two fusion spells.
"I banish armageddon knight from hand for cost." Jeane banished the card and the hologram showed a knight in japanese armor with a katana being sucking into the vortex.
"Next I activate shaddoll fusion from hand." Jeane showed the card and the hologram showed a swirling purple vortex. "Since you have a monster special summoned from the extra deck I can use materials from deck for the fusion summon."
the vortex showed a third headed dog that seemed to be sickly and frail and what looks like a tiny black falcon child with light strings controlling it. The two are sucked into the vortex and come out as a giant creature of light gray coloration with a pair of metallic shields for arms, a blank dolllike face, and a shape similar to a victorian noblelady (2600/3000).
"I fusion summon the defender of dark earth, El shaddoll Shekinga." the boy clasped his hand and at his command the fusion obeyed. The boy's confidence returned and with it the aura pushed through and this tie even sunset felt a slight chill.

Jeane couldn't help but smile slightly.
She isnt mean, despite what her brothers are like. If it wasnt for the fact that she kinda made it hard for me to make friends during middle school I wouldnt be so against her. Sunset was very much a possessive personality and jeane couldn't let her take him away from his mother.
"I activate the effect of falco in grave, summoning it facedown in defense mode. I then set a facedown monster card and another card face." the holgram zone behind falco also shown golden light and next to falco's golden glow is a second golden glow showing he had a monster too.
"I then activate the spell card foolish burial." Jeane's holograms showed an open grave and in a shower of sparks the same cloud girl from before hovered over the grave but was grabbed by an decayed hand and dragged down. "this allows me to send a monster from my deck to grave and since the monster I sent was wendi I can set a shaddoll monster in facedown defense and I choose shaddoll dragon."
The hologram showed a dog like monster with a dragonhead and the shaddolls characteristic puppet strings as it merged with the zone and another golden glow showing its placement in the zone."
"I go to battle phase and I attack great wolf with Shekinga go, Stone breaking strike."
Shekinga raised it's shield arm and charged great wolf whose fire light up and formed a shield which block shekinga who struggled against it making sparks fly.
"looks like you activated my trap card, negate attack."
Jeane felt himself shake.
Denied again, I cant believe how good she is.
Jeane's dark aura gave way to sunsets and her heat covered his field.
"I End my turn."
"My go draw!" Sunset drew a card then smirked. "Just what I needed. As part of the cost of keeping him on the field Bagooska absorbs one material detaching it." the light orb went into the elephants mouth and it chewed then swallowed.
I activate effect of stellio to detach a material and special summon jack jaguar in defense mode" The hologram showed a four legged dog like monster with fire turbines on it's back which flared up and shown blue since it was in defense mode (1200/1800).
"don't worry darling, jaguar wont be here for long as I use him and Great wolf to link summon a familiar monster."
here it comes, she is gonna use those materials to summon another great wolf which means it's better effect will be activated."
"I link summon another great wolf and since it was link summoned with a material that shares its name I can add a salamangreat spell or trap to hand and I choose to bring back my circle." sunset pulled the card from her graveyard as the wolf returned.
"now I will summon an old friend once again. Come forth spinny but like jaguar he is gonna be gone as quick as he arrived. I use spinny and stellio to link summon the three headed beast of the dark dream realm, I call to thee Knightmare Cerberus!"
Out of the link network came a three headed dog with orange skin and a spike color. (1600, Link-2) "Since I link summoned this monster I can discard a card from my hand, like say this circle I just got and can destroy a monster on your side of the field… and I choose shekinga. Cerebus use fire of the underworld to destroy his monster."
"I will chain shekinga effect." Jeane started but Sunsets aura grew hotter overtaking him.
"I will activate my trap card. Infitine impermence."
darn it! A staple card… she really is a finalist. Jeane watched as the card summoned dragon flying over head and activating it's breath weapon as it flew over his field covering it in red fire which made Shekinga, falco, and his el shaddoll fusion gray out.
"Since I set this card during my first turn not only is your Shaddoll shekinga effect negated for turn, but also all cards in the row it was set in and since I don't have any monsters there that means only your cards are effected and those zones are locked out for effects until the end of my turn."
Cerebrus three heads opened their mouths and combined together to make a black fireball which hit shekinga and destroyed it in a spark of shards.
"Now I activate the secondary effect of Knightmare cerberus since it is co-linked with my great wolf I draw a card." she did so and giggled. "got the last thing I needed to win this duel. Jeane enjoy your next turn… because it will be your last for this duel."
Jeane felt the weight of the force in front of him.
Darn it, she has a counter for my every move. What should I expect she is a seasoned duelist and ive never even played in a tournament before. All I have is a deck I card I made from a strutucure deck and normal packs of cards.
Felt his hand heat up and he looked at the card. Expect for this one. The rarest card In my deck… I don't have the strength to even wield it.
This card won't be controlled by just anyone. You need the power to master it and the will to control it. The boy frowned at what his brother had told him when he gave him this card.
A weakling like me could never control this monster.
Have you forgotten your desire so easily. The voice returned to jeane's head. I will not save one who will not save himself.
Jeane felt the card pull to him. Why does this keep happening.
"I will now go to battle phase." Sunset stated. "I'll start by attacking your facedown with knightmare chimera. Roar of pershone." The beast let out a sonic roar which blew up his falco. "and since its in the same row as my impermence then it cannot attack It's effect."
"next I will attack your other set card with great wolf light him up wolfie." the creature ran up to him and attacked scratching at the chard which was a clown in harley quinn attire with a staff and balancing on a ball with big lips and eyes.
Jeanes life points: 2400
Jeane froze as he thought about the bagooska then he felt his blood chill. I wont lose.
"I activate effect of performage trick clown to summon itself to face up defense position at the cast of 1000 of my life points with 0 attack and defense." jeane declared in an even voice.
The trickclown jumped out of the graveyard and hologram showed it balancing on ball whilst being covered in blue. (0/0)
"wow I'm impressed, alright jeane I guess it doesn't matter. So I'll skip bagooska's attack, switch it to defense mode, and set two cards face down. Now all face up monsters on the field go into defense positon except link monsters which don't have defense mode. End my turn"
"draw!" Jeane called pulling a card from his deck, he drew another shaddoll monster this one being squamata.
"I'll set a monster facedown and then flip dragon. Since your bagooska is in defense mode dragon comes up to attack mode then switches to defense mode." The dragon monster shows up and then switches to defense mode. (1900/0)
"Dragon effect since I flipped it I can send one monster back to your hand and I choose your great wolf." jeane pointed as dragon prepared to open it's move with shadowy flames flickering in its maw. "go! Banishing breath."
The blast shot out at great wolf but sunset flipped a card making the great wolf howl causing the breath slam against the sonic wave fizzling. "looks like you once again activated my trap card, sweetie, you really are a simple minded duelist and I love it."
"since I control a salamangreat link monster and you chose to activate your monsters effect I can negate it with salamangreat roar and then destroy the monster."
The roar after it was done with the breath blast shot at dragon destroying it.
Darn she knows my deck well. Shaddoll monsters can only activate one of their effects per turn. Jeane knew that sunsets fire grew hotter and hotter until it would be unbearable.
"I end my turn"
Sunset smirks. "alright cutie pie let's put this duel to bed. We've got a big day tommorrow doing fun stuff while we wait for the movers to grab your stuff from that stuffy place you used to call a home. I pay the cost of bagooska using it's last material to keep it alive. Draw."
Bagooska swallows it's last material chowing down.
"I think your well aware of this move. I special summon spinny from graveyard." Spinny once again returns, this time he was in attack mode lighting up with fire.
"I then activate my trap card Salamangreat rage." Suddenly all of Sunsets salamangreat monsters grew angry as they began to light up with fire which shot out and burned both of jeanes monsters.
"since I control a salamangreat monster I can destroy all your monsters. I then switch bagooska to attack mode and set the card I just drew." Sunset did so and the zone lit up.
"I activate effect of squamata and trick clown. First in the chain I will summon performage trick clown in face up defense position at the cost of 1000 life points." Trick clown comes to the field and is covered in blue.
Jeanes life points: 1400
"taking after my strategy huh, well spinny doesn't require my lifpoints to use so we both know which recursion monster is superior."
jeane gritted his teeth. "I then activate squamata to send my last copy of wendi to grave in order to summon naelshaddoll ariel in face up defense mode." the monster summoned had blue hair, cosed eyes, and dressed in a swimsuit like gown and kneeled down cover in the blue. (1000/1800)
"Pfft, okay, I still have enough beaters to take your measly lifepoints to zero so I don't know why you would waste our time when my victory is assured." Sunset didn't sound sure for the first time in the duel her confidence wavered and so did her aura as for the first time in this duel jeane's aura pressed full advantage making her feel the cold.
"woo, shouldn't' have taken my coat off, I guess that they turned the airconditioning up. I'm freezing." she admited. "I guess I'll heat things up by attacking your clown with Bagooska. Pummel him bagooska." the elephant raised it's fist lighting it on fire to punch the clown.
"I activate the quick play spell el shaddoll fusion. Since I have a shaddoll monster and a monster of the light attribute I can summon my strongest fusion master. The maiden of holy destruction el shaddoll construct."
ariel and trick clown looked at each other then leapt together forming a swirl that formed into a gate of darkness. A pair of hands grab the edges of the gates and out of it came a giant metallic woman dressed in the same gothic metal style dress with a blank face. (2800/2500)
Sunset gritted her teeth and groaned.
"so you bought yourself one more turn. I end my turn by setting one card face down. Good luck darling." Sunset took a threatening tone.
Jeane drew his card and then looked at it. He felt confidence flood him.
For the first time in this duel I have a chance to win. I got to press the advantage here and now before she can recover.
The card in his hand glowed warmly in his hand. Not yet, can't risk losing control of it.
The card I just drew will help me break up her board but I don't have any summonable monsters outside of this card so I guess im counting on construct for this part.
"I set a facedown card and go straight to battle"
Jeane pointed his finger at great wolf "El shaddoll construct destroy that wolf. Darklight attack." El shaddoll construct formed a ball of black energy in between its hands molding it then shooting at the link monster.
Finally I'm gonna destroy that wolf.
As the blast reached closer the look of fear on sunset subsided into a wicked smirk. "not so fast. I activate the graveyard effect of my salamangreat roar."
Wolf once again roared in anger destroying the blast.
"since your el shaddoll construct has an effect that automatically activates when it battles a special summoned monster I can use roar in reponse to negate the activation and destroy your construct." once again the roar destroyed construct.
"I activate the effect of construct to bring back a shaddoll spell or trap to my hand and I choose shaddoll fusion."
"I now activate shaddoll fusion to fuse the shaddoll beast in my hand and the hedgehog in my deck to special summon Shaddoll winda." Jeane declared using the shaddoll vortex to send a four legged dog like puppet with strings and a purple hedghog wi strings to grave and summon a small girl in a black dress with a beast that appears to be shaddoll dragon (2200/800)
"activate effect of beast to draw a card and then I activate effect of hedgehog to grab an el shaddoll fusion." jeane drew his reshaddoll trap.
This wont be useful as a trap but it can be useful for my facedowns cost.
"I set one more card face down and end my turn."
"okay final turn. Draw. My bagooska has no materials and such it is destroyed." the elephant grabbed it's stomach and burst into shards. Sunset drew a card and frowned. "this one wont help."
"I link summon using salamangreat great wolf and salamnagreat spinny into the true king of all salamangreats the flame emperor salamangreat heatleo. I summon you to the field now." she orders using her two beasts to do a link network which has three arrows. To summon a bipedal machine looking monster with a lions head and tail with a mane and tail made of fire and flame turbines on its back constantly spewing fire. Which made sunsets aura take a final push against jeanes nearly destroying it.
"I activate the spell card super poly." jeane flips the card. "by sending a card from my hand to grave I can fusion summon using materials from either field and I choose my winda and your heatleo."
"I chain the spellcard I set earlier. Salamangreat circle. I use it's secondary effect to make my link monsters immune to card effects."
Jeane's super poly fizzled and he was forced to send his trap to grave.
"I will now for the last time activate spinnys effect special summon him to the field in attack mode." Spinny returned and the kings fire mixed with its and covered the boy made sunsets aura unbeatable covering jeane.
"it's over jeane I won. You put up a good fight but I am the only one strong enough to protect you because you cant protect yourself. Battle phase."
she's right… I'm weak.
"heat leo attack Winda now! Burning pride breath." the lion opened its mouth using a fire ball to blast winda. Jeane fell to his knees and didn't even bother to activate her effect.
Jeanes life points: 1000
What's the point I can't beat her. She's too strong, I can't protect my monsters, I can't protect my life points, I can't even protect myself. My father and brother hate me, I'm holding my family back, and my mother is too kind to just admit I'm worthless.
Do you truly believe that? The voice said, this time jeane could tell it was feminine.
Why wouldnt I?
Because if you were as weak as you say then you would have consigned yourself to your fate and not even dueled.
I cant beat her. She is too strong.
You have strength in your hand but you lack the courage to take it.
I can't control it im not good enough.
Who decided that.
My brother, my father, my peers. Im just a weakling.
No you are the boy who wants friends, you are the boy who wants to ask the girl you like out on date.. how are you gonna protect them and be good enough for them if you don't fight against those who will oppose you.
Jeane couldn't retort.
As he realized things had slowed down.
I known you since you were born Jeane umbra and I know that you are kind and for that kindness you are called soft but I know that your kindness can give way to fury a tempest that will swallow all who threaten what you care about.
Jeane could see a door inscribed with runes and had six big circles with the attributes of yugioh in ascending order water earth darkness on the left and wind fire light on the right. Jeane felt his hand to reach to it and felt power radiate inside him.
When the time comes you will open this door and claim your destiny but that cant happen if you give up now. So, will you fight for yourself so you can have what you desire.
Jeane let out a shot of affirmation.
He saw sunset ready to end this.
"go spinny end this duel with flaming spin dash attack." spinny rolled out like a ball igniting itself and rolling toward jeane like a fireball hitting him making him feel all the heat of the sun.
"game, set, match!" but as the smoke cleared she noticed that jeane was still standing and his life points remained at 1000 "how?"
the smoke showed the three headed mangy dog protecting jeane. "when I summoned shekinga I used prospero cerberus as a fusion material. When prospero is in the graveyard and im about to take battle damage I can banish him to take no battle damage."
Sunset yelled out in rage. "why are you making this so hard! Just lose already!" she had lost it jeane had a calm look on his face.
For the first time in the duel he felt his aura under his control and he pressed the advantage to place It in the middle of the field.
"I take my final turn. I draw." Jeane looked at the card in his hand and smiled.
"I activate the card I just drew, shaddoll fusion I use mathmatician and my last shaddoll monster naelshaddoll ariel to fusion summon an old friend. Return to the field shekinga!" shekinga came from the fusion as jeane smiled.
He controlled his aura to fight against the wild chaotic aura of sunsets. He needed the right focus for what comes next he waited until both auras were even.
"i'm ending this duel now! When light and shadow share balance I can call forth the start of the reckoning of the world. I summon him who is the herald of the end times and one who will rebuild the world in his image. I summon my monster, the great envoy of the beginnning. Come forth, black luster soldier!" Jeane yelled playing the card.
"black luster soldier, the envoy of the beginning? You have that card. How did you get one of the rarest cards in all of duel monsters." Sunset was shocked as lightning thunder covered the center of the field where their aura's mixed.
"I was given this card by my closest friend and though he is harsh I still care about him and I respect our friendship by summoning the card that symbolizes our bond. I summon him by banishing performage trick clown and shaddoll falco to summon the envoy of the beginning."
Dressed in black and gold armor wielding a curved sword the black luster soldier stood imposing upon sunset. (3000/2500)
"go battle phase!" Jeane yelled. "black luster soldier attack salamangreat spinny! Black hole Oblvion." the monster raised its hand, palm extended and out of its palm came a mini black hole which shot toward the armadillo monster and swallowed it.
Sunsets life points 1000
"I don't know why im so worried you only have one more monster to attack and even if you destroy my leo I'll still have life points. I have drew just the card I needed to destroy you last turn so all I need is to draw a salamangreat monster or my last circle to win on my next turn."
"wrong!"
Sunset backed away and her aura was evaporating.
"what are you talking about!"
"When black luster soldier destroys a monster by battle it can attack a second time."
"What!?"
"Soldier destroy her heatleo with twilight slash!" The soldier dashed toward heatleo and in one quick swipe slashed the beast into shards.
Sunsets lifepoints.
"Why! Why do you fight me!" she cried her make up running. "Do you hate me so much. I would have taken care of you. Just let me love you jeane! All I'd ask is your love in return! Why cant you love me!"
"Sunset shimmer, you claim to love me but I can see through your facade. You cant love anyone truly because you do not love yourself." Jeane responded in a calm tone. "Now shekinga end this duel with a direct attack."
Shekinga swung her shield and slammed down onto sunset completely extinguishing her aura completely.
Sunset life points: 0, Winner jeane umbra.
After the duel was done jeane descended from the platform.
He looked back at the crying sunset and shook his head. Maybe I was too rough on her.
"Jeane umbra! I will not forget this embarrassment I will make you mine! No matter what I have to do you will be mine and mine alone! Mark m words your day will come."
Jeane walked away saying nothing and walked out of the arena. He pulled out his phone and then looked at the number of his mother. The boy closed his phone then walked down the street. He needed time to think and his mother would be grocery shopping right now.
No need to bother her. I can walk home.
EQG Yu-Gi-Oh War of Light and Darkness Strength and Friendship
Jeane listened to his mother hum beautiful, washing veggies in a basin for dinner. The boy always loved to hear her sing since he was young and would insist on her lullabies.
"how's about this one my little star." she cooed, using her nickname for jeane which was a reference to his old dream of going to space and bringing back a star for his mother. "you are my sunshine… my only sunshine."
Her voice was smooth as silk and could calm a storm.
"you make me happy, when skies are gray." jeane continued the song, his voice though not as good as his mother still had nice ring to the ear.
"you'll never know dear, how much I love you." Luna stood next to jeane putting her hands into the sink and taking the bowl of washed vegetables and took them to the boiling pot on the stove, her back turned to jeane.
"Please don't take my sunshine away." both sung but a deep sadness hung on their voices.
"do you hate me jeane?" Luna asked, her voice even.
"No mom, I could never hate you. What happened with sunset wasnt your fault." jeane couldn't believe his mother would feel the need to apologize when she was the only one who stood up for him when his father was gonna sell him like cttle.
"I know it seems like your dad hates you, but he does love you… even though he doesn't show it a lot."
"is that why he was gonna sell me to sunset."
"He said that it seemed like the pressure of living here under his standards was too much for you and sunset has been a good guardian to snips and snails. Those boys mothers were pieces of work let me tell you that and those boys have really turned around."
jeane didn't have it in her to say that those boys didn't change at all. They were still bullying trash.
"well it doesn't matter anymore because you stuck up for me when no one else would. Thank you for giving me a chance."
"Sweetie what are you talking about?" Luna asked, confusion clear.
"You… didn't you make dad give me a chance to duel sunset for my freedom?"
"No jeane, your father was so avid and I knew he wouldnt listen to me… it was raito who made him see reason."
raito did that for me. Why?
"I know you and him have had your troubles but he is still your brother and he does care for you." Luna admitted.
The sound of the front door openning and then slamming annouced the arrival of the man of the house, ceo of umbra industries and one of the richest men in all of canterlot… sombra umbra. Jeane's and raito's father.
"Luna, I want my dinner on the table in ten minutes." he demanded without raising his voice.
"Be ready soon hun." Luna said sweetly though it was clear she was nervous.
"Boy, come to my den, now." jeane flinched at the demand of his father… he knew boy meant him.
"Oh sombra, you just got home, can't you let Jeane help me, dinner will be ready faster with his help." Luna pleaded.
"Jeane, Den, I wont ask again." Sombra replied and the closing of the den door was all that the two heard.
Luna looked scared as she looked at jeane. "Just do what he says jeane and if he does anything scream for me."
Jeane nods his head. "It's okay mom, he won't hurt me, I'm strong."
The boy didn't believe a word of what he was saying as he exited the cage into their living room which had a big tv, coach, three black recliners and a stepping stool in the middle. The boy walked up the stairs looking over at the photo's of their family.
He reached the top then saw a flickering light under the last door to the left which was where Sombra's den was… this also means he has a fire going and that means it is a serious talk.
The boy walked down the hall each step a labor. He knocked on the door but before he could finish the door creaked open as if by command.
"Come in boy, and wipe your feet on the rug."
The study was barely illuminated by the stone fire place, it had a huge photo over the fireplace of two beings one angellic covered In light and other fiendish shrouded in darkness fighting each other. The study also had a neatly arranged desk and a cabinet in the back.
Jeane wiped his feet and made his way toward his father.
"Have a seat, boy." he pointed to the lounge chair across from him. Sombra's chair was facing the fire place, his eyes looking up at the picture, hyperfocused on the image.
Jeane tried to sit in the chair but sombra lifted his hand.
"not there… the seat under it. Hurry!" he demanded.
Jeane pulled out the footstool and took a seat next to his father.
"You wanted to talk with me, sir?" Jeane tried to keep his voice even but felt the overwhelming prescence of his father shake his resolve.
"Do you enjoy embarrassing your family boy."
"what?"
Sombra leaned his head onto left arm, cupping it in his hand. "let's face facts, your win loss record when you were in the junior league was abysmal. I'll give you the fact that your grades are the best in your school ever since elementary but that alone doesn't make you an umbra. Do you know what does."
Jeane did, he had heard this speech many times in the past. "Being good in the areas our company specialize in?"
"And what, does our company specialize in?" Sombra asked.
"Duel monsters accessories." Jeane replied, gulping.
"And would you mind telling me how we are going to sell our products if one of my sons is a no good loser!" Sombra exclaimed slamming his fist on the arm of his chair making the flame roar slightly. The man flared his nostrils then returned to his neutral stance.
"I don't hate you son, I hate how hard it is to love you."
"I'm sorry father."
Sombra slowly left the chair, placing his hands behind his back and then turning his head to the portrait. "as you know the card shop calvalcade tournament is coming up, its a small tournament put on between our family and the other companies but one we've won for the last 10 years. I wish I had a better option but you are my only son eligible to be a participant for my team."
Jeane gulped, "you want me to take Raito's place."
"Seeing as your brother has already left home this morning to go to the regionals registry I don't have much of a choice. Raito has a dream to be the duel monsters champion, an admirable goal but for the life of me I don't think you even have a worth goal. So now you have a choice win the calvalcade or I will sell you to sunset shimmer and this time raito wont be here to protect you… I don't know why that boy chooses to look over someone as weak as you… must be your mother's doing."
"Dinner!" Luna exclaimed from downstairs.
Sombra eyebrow twitched as he looked at the clock. "She's three minutes late." sombra silently made his way to the door and then turned his head to jeane.
"for your sake I hope you are a better homemaker then your mother." he groaned in disappoint. "it hurts me how much I see you as the woman in the relationship."

alright to start off. I make mistakes as a writer. Im not perfect last chapter I received a lot of constructive criticism as I forgot what certain effects did like in the case of super poly not allowing interaction or misread a cards effect like salamangreat circle only being able to protect link monsters and only ones who were link summoned with a card of the same name as a material. But I would like to ask whoever comments to keep negativity and bullying out of the comment section now it isnt all my commenters rn its only a single commenter and one who I hope can be mature enough to not comment on a story he obviously doesn't like. Now I want it stated that I am not a special snowflake I can take people not liking my story no on reading this is required to like it or even finish it. My writing is all about letting you read if you enjoy and if you don't like then you shouldn't feel bound to finish it, I don't like that this story has a lot of dislikes but personally I don't blame anyone but myself because I know there is a lot I need to work on as a writer and you guys are allowed to tell me if you don't like the story. Im sorry for going on a tangent about this but I wanted to be transparent with my fans. Jeane tapped his pencil on an empty piece of paper.
The boy sat alone in the homeroom before first period, head leaning on his hand.
I have to find a team for the calvalcade in one months time or I get sent to live with sunset shimmer and the bully brothers. The boy rapped harder until his pencil broke under the pressure.
There is no way I can do that so soon! Jeane internal screamed.
The boy had no friends from middle school. He liked to be by himself due to his introverted nature and shy demeanor.
To make three friends who also happen to be great duelists who can win the duel cup is impossible and even if it was possible I don't know what the other teams will be made of.
It was no secret that when rich people in the Duel Monsters industry wanted to win they would open their pocket books to hire duel hunters, duel monsters pros turned mercenary. Jeane knew of an instance where crystal prep sent a duel hunter pair of tag duelists after raito and he beat them both by himself.
The boy rubbed his head hard.
I don't know what I would do if I had to face one of them, let alone two. Those paradox brothers were intense and their rhyming abilities were unmatched.
The boy shook his head furiously.
A slight tap on his shoulder distracted jeane from his crisis.
"Um, excuse me but, can I sit next to you." a yellow skinned girl with long pink hair asked.
Jeane met her eyes and couldn't help but see all the innocence of the word in them. He felt his face warm.
Taking a gulp jeane nodded his head then turned from the beauty with a flush, hiding his face in a book.
She sat down next to him and jeane examined the girl.
She dressed in a white blouse and skirt with pink butterlies on it and had thigh high boots which were white and gold.
"um, your staring at me. Is something wrong," she asked in a soft sweet voice like a disney princess brought to the real world.
"No!" she exclaimed then flushed. "Uh, I'm sorry… nobody wants to sit next to me. Especially not a pretty girl like you."
The girl blushed then watched jeane. She then turn from him with a frown. "it's not nice to lie to someone you just met."
"Lie?"
"I know im not pretty."
"Why would you think that. Your the second most beautiful girl I've ever seen."
her blush grew, hiding her self in her hair the girl whimpered.
"Are you okay?" Jeane asked reaching out to her.
"The only one who tells me such things is rainbow dash and thats why she is my closest friend but I don't know which means your either trying to get something out of me or your the sweetest guy I've ever met."
"to be honest I'm neither. I just can't keep my mouth shut when I see something interesting." the boy admitted.
The girl peeked from her hair and then noticing Jeane's blsh smiled.
"I'm fluttershy… nice to meet you." she said extending her hand lightly toward him.
The boy took it and lightly shook it. "Your hands are so soft, like my mothers… I'm jeane… sorry for being weird."
Girl giggled leaving her hiding spot. "It's alright, I'm weird too."
"You? Pfft, get out of here miss disney princess." Jeane teased.
Fluttershy blushed and then looked away with a cute look on her face. "Oh my, someone so forward. Which disney movie is your favorite?"
"I like Lion King, it's a classic. But I like the 90's movies."
"Me too!" she exclaimed loudly and immediately covering her mouth.
"Me too," she whispered.
The pair shared a laugh.
"So uh, are you a freshmen too?" Jeane asked, smiling.
Fluttershy nodded. "me and all four of my friends are."
"Wow, for a shy girl, you have four times as many friends as I have. I guess it goes to show you aren't nearly as bad socially as I am." jeane admitted unaware that fluttershy blushed and hid her face again.
"I-I, we've been friends since elementary." she admitted peeking out again.
"The only friend I had in elementary was raito."
"raito? Like school champion four years running raito? The raito who is set to go to the regionals this weekend. That raito?" Fluttershy voice raised with each word.
Jeane chuckled nervously. "So you've heard of him. Are you a fan?"
"yes I am. I think he is so cool and confident, wish I could be more like that."
"Yeah, he has that effect on me too."
"How do you know him?"
"i'm his little brother."
Fluttershy let out a cute squeak then began packing her bag.
"Hey what are you doing?" Jeane asked nervously.
"I'm sorry for bothering you mr. jeane, I know someone as famous as you doesn't have time for someone as pathethic as I am so I will leave you alone now."
"Wait fluttershy," jeane started, holding fluttershy's hand. "I'm not who you think I am."
Fluttershy raised an eyebrow, "so are you not raitos brother."
"I am but, my whole family thinks I'm joke, even raito. I'm no one special, I'm a freshman and I don't even have single friend."
"I could be your friend," Fluttershy blushed looking deep into jeane's eyes.
"I'd Like that."
"Thanks mr. jeane."
"Just Jeane if you don't mind. Fluttershy." he said.
She smiled cutely.
Jeane then reached into is bag to offer her a snack when he accidently knocked his deck box out.
"Hey what's this." Fluttershy picked up the box then looked it over.
"Those? those are duel monsters cards."
Fluttershy began to build up with excitement. "you play duel monsters? I love duel monsters! What archetype do you play? Does it invovle animals? All my favorite archetypes include animals especially cute ones but I like big animals too."
"I play shaddolls. I don't suppose you like dark dolls do you?" He chuckled nervously.
"I know shaddolls are considered a common archetype after the structure deck came out and nobody in the competitive scene plays them." Fluttershy then looks at the deck and smiles handing it back "but they fit you."
"Melffy's I love them. My friend pinkie plays toons and Rainbow dash and her little sister scootaloo use U.A. And F.A. decks." She gushed about her and her friends decks.
"So Melffys huh, that isnt exactly a competitive archetype that you have yourself. I take it you play it for the same reason I play shaddolls. They…"
"mesh well with one you really are inside." she finished his senteance.
"Yeah,"
"Can I show you something that means a lot to me?" She whispered this with a conspiratorial tone.
Jeane nodded.
Fluttershy took out her deck box and pulled out her sleeved cards.
"Sleeves, wow you are a pro. I only sleeve mine for tournament play." Jeane admitted amazed his cards were still in good condition.
"if you take care of your cards they take care of you." she then found the card she needed and showed it to jeane.
The boy's eyes widened like dinner plates. It was a fusion card and not just any fusion an ultra rare fusion card one of the highest rarities in all of duel monsters. It showed a purple skinned beast monster with purple skin and three heads one each of an eagle, a lion, and a dragon each with horns.
"A guardian chimeara. That's one of the most sought after cards in all of duel monsters. The pegasus corporation is looking to put it in next years staple packs. How'd you get one."
Fluttershy turned her head. "My grandma lied last year. She knew I loved duel monsters and knew she was going to die so she spent a large amount of her savings on this card knowing it was one I really wanted. I like it think it carries a piece of her inside this card and so I wouldn't trade it for anything."
Jeane felt his own sadness grow. The boy looked fluttershy in those sweet eyes. "would you like to see the card that means the most to me."
Jeane grabbed the card out of his deck box and showed it to Fluttershy.
"The envoy of the beginning," Fluttershy said mesmerized. "Only nine of them and their sister card were ever made. Where did you get yours… dead grandma too."
"No It was a gift from raito. He won it from a tournament and told me he wanted to have it that was back when we were friends."
"I like talking to you jeane… maybe you'd like to have lunch with me and my friends."
Jeane blushed and simply cleared his throat. "I would very much like that."
the bell rang and the few students in the class started to organize their bag for the next class.
"what's your next class jeane." Fluttershy asked slinging her bag over her shoulder.
"AP Biology, you?" The boy felt his palms warm when fluttershy flicked her hair.
"Math 101. see you at lunch okay?" She walked away toward the exit leaving the sweet boy dumbfounded.
Did I just secure a date? No way did I just secure a date. With a beautiful girl like that? No way. Jeane picked up his bag and his deck box making toward the exit.
Jeane sorted through his locker as free period official started. Okay, I'll look over my decklist and see what upgrades I need.
The boy shook his head. Or what I can afford.
The boy knew that the secondary market of duel monsters was a realm with no regulation save for the multiple consumers. He could go to the marketplace sites but they don't deliver very fast and depending on the site they can be unreliable.
If he goes to the shops they might have what he needs but charge him an arm and a leg for it especially if it's a staple card. The boy wasn't poor and he generally saved his weekly allowance but to get half of what he thinks he needs would take a lot of money.
If people are willing to pay it I guess. He thought turning toward the library.
"Oof," the boy bumped into a small girl who fell back.
"I'm so sorry, are you okay." the boy noticed that the little girl was a grade schooler in crystal prep elementary uniform. The purple dress blouse and skirt with the crystal prep symbol on it, the thigh high socks and dress shoes.
The girl herself had a bob cut white hair, glasses, and gray skin.
"Watch where your going idiot." she scoffed slapping jeane's hand away. Picking herself up.
The boy bowed his head.
The girl dusted herself off. "You're lucky that I'm here on a mission or I'd show you your place. Stay away from me or you will feel the wrath of my deck." storming away from the dumbfounded jeane.
Typical crystal prep. They always did think they were better the us. The boy frowned as he turned the other way. But I wonder, what would bring an elementary crystal prep student to canterlot high.
The boy decided it was best not to think about it. It doesn't invovle me. Besides I've got bigger problems then a little girl with a chip on her shoulder.
Jeane checked his phone once again. Lunch is half over and fluttershy is nowhere in sight.
The boy sulked.
Of course she wouldn't show. Why would she. She's beautiful and your… jeane. The boy didn't play her, he probably creeped her out and she was just being nice.
The boy's sadness overwhelmed him.
"hey come outside quick." a boy said to a girl.
"Why what's going on?" She asked.
"Fluttershy is battling a crystal prep student.
"Fluttershy? Scared of a strong breeze fluttershy? I have got to see this." they both exited the cafeteria with cheer.
That's why she wasnt here. Makes sense, but if she is battling I need to support her. The boy grabbed his bag and followed the students to the tennis field where a fluttershy was standing with her duel disk against the same girl jeane bumped into earlier.
Fluttershy on her field had only a puppy and what looked like a rabbit with grass on it.
Meanwhile the other girl had a set monster and trap card.
"I activate my trap card during my first main phase… just desserts." the hologram of the grab showed as a fat ape with reddish pink skin reaching out for fluttershys monsters and crushing them making a back lash at fluttershy.
Fluttershy life points: 1200
"Now time to finish this and take that rare card."
Jeane watched Fluttershy quiver in fear, she was frozen solid.
"I flip summon des koala doing 300 damage for each card in your hand and you have four right… that means I win."
The des koala shot out and blasts fluttershy directly for a bamboo cane knocking her back.
The girl gloated with haughty laugther rubbing jeane the wrong way.
"What a worthless, weak duelist. I hope the duelist I came here isnt nearly as boring." the girl strutted toward fluttershy until she towered over the quivering teen.
"Now give me that card I saw you with."
Fluttershy let out a whimper. "Please don't take my card, it's all I have left of my grandma." fluttershy begged.
The girl smacked fluttershy. "Did I ask your backstory. I want that card and I won. Now hand it over."
"Enough!" Jeane exclaimed, making the crowd part for him.
The girl frowned and glared at him. "It's you, didn't learn your lesson last time did you worm. You should have taken my advice."
"I won't let a girl like you bully someone as sweet as her."
"Jeane, don't, she's too strong and mean." Fluttershy begged.
Jeane walked up to her and picked the girl up. "I won't let her take your card. You're my friend Fluttershy. Let me help you."
Jeane turned toward The girl.
"Jeane huh, hard to believe that a wimp like you is the man I'm looking for." she gloated louding her deck in her duel disk.
She was looking for me? The boy frowned.
"raito umbra is your brother, right?" she pointed at jeane.
"Yeah, what of it?" Jeane tried to act tough but the cold confidence exuded by this girl made his skin crawl.
The girl giggled into her hand. "this is gonna be so easy. You don't even have a duel disk!"
Jeane walked toward the quivering Fluttershy.
"may I borrow this my lady." jeane felt the coolness in his voice as he asked for her duel disk.
Fluttershy nodded and hugged him tightly. "Don't lose, please. I don't want you to lose your cards too."
Jeane patted her back as she cried into his shoulder. "don't worry I won't, I promise."
the girl laughed louder annoying jeane.
"You find something funny brat." jeane growled, surprising himself as well as everyone.
The girl flushed then readied her duel disk.
Jeane did the same.
"Duel!" they both shouted and their disks lit up.
Jeane and the girl drew their hands of five cards and looked them over.
that fool won't know what hit him. With my burn deck I'm unbeatable. Silver spoon may have been only the second best duelist in the junior league team of crystal prep but she was still a damn good duelist. She came here to solidify her reputation by defeating the brother of Raito umbra who dominated the junior and upper classmen leagues of duel monsters since he was old enough to enter. She expected someone a little weaker but not a total spaz like this.
She was lucky to get here first so she can get all the credit for being the first to out him.
How can a wimp like him be related to boy who denied principal cinch's offers to join crystal preps teams and embarrassed our school. I bet he's adopted.

"Simple. If we used the typical 4000 life points this duel would be over too soon… and I want you to suffer for calling me a brat." she took on a monstrous look as her eyes filled with malice.
The boy nodded his head. "very well, we'll play your game."
"Alright!" she looked at her hand. "My go!"
"I activate the spell card Magic wave cannon." the holgram showed a green cannon with spell carvings on it. "every turn during my stand-by phase I can add a charge counter to my cannon and then when I tribute I can do something fun."
she never lost that evil smirk. "I set a monster face down and set one then it's your turn."
she's playing a burn deck. So it's safe to say those faces downs are gonna hit me for some damage in addition to her cannon. So I better work around them and I have just the card combo for that.
"draw! I summon the mathmatician in attack mode." out of the card came a short man in glasses, robes with stars on them, and a magic wand (1500/500). "mathmaticians effect allows me to send a monster from my deck to the grave and I choose performage trick clown."
"Why would you send that twerp to graveyard? Are you beating yourself up for me?" she laughed at him once again.
I need to fill my grave with a light monster early so if I summon The soldier I have the cards I need.
"I then set down two cards and enter my battle phase. Mathmatician attack her face down."
The math wizard waved it's wand as symbols floated around it and when it pointed it at the face down It shot a blue bolt at it blowing up a koala.
"You just activated the flip effect of my des koala. Now it does 400 life points in damage for each card in your hand and since you have three that's 1200." the koala pointed jeanes hand and hit him with it's eucalyptus branch through each of them into his heart.
"And I'm sure your little loserette will remember this combo."
Jeane's Life points: 6800
oh no, not that thing. Fluttershy covered her eyes, remembering that horrible monster.
"I activate the trap card Just Desserts which does 500 Damage to you for each monster you have on the field. I'd wish you'd use one of your combos to summon more monsters for this but I guess you're too lame for that."
The giant hairless ape came forward grabbing Jeane and crushing him.

good my predictation was correct that she was gonna use the same combo she used against fluttershy and now her field is open and I highly doubt she is gonna attack due to her deck focusing on effect damage. Jeane strategized in his head how to beat her.
"I end my turn."
Silver spoon smirked as she drew her card. "standby I add a counter to magic wave cannon." she gloated.
Magic wave cannon counters: 1
"I then tribute my cannon to blast you for 1000 points of damage per counter on it." the cannon loaded itself with a small magic cannon ball then fired at Jeane blasting him and knocking the boy down.
Silver Spoon cackled like a mad witch as jeane picked himself up.

he's almost at half life points and it's only turn 3.

Another reactive combo no doubt. Jeane looked at his cards. But it doesn't matter I have all I need to push through and hurt her life points.
"Draw!" Jeane looked at his card and frowned.
This wont win me the game as of yet. But it could be used to help set up a combo. Jeane scanned his hand.
"Alright, I flip the trap monster card to summon Shaddoll core." Jeane flipped his shaddoll core and it became a brown mass of multiheaded serpentine monsters. (1450/1950)
"I then activate the spell card Shaddoll fusion to fuse My core and mathmatician into the Shaddoll of breaking earth… El shaddoll Shekinga" the earth below their beat began to shake as a small chunk shot out of a whole and began to form into the gray mass of a lady in a gray dress with strings on her arms and back. (2600/3000)
"Not so fast twerp! I activate the trap card gravity bind" Silver spooned exclaimed as a net of green energy surrounded the field making Jeane and Shekinga feel and pressure and fight to remain standing.
Silver spoon smirked. "with this trap card no monster whose stars are over level 4 can attack. Meaning your big beater cant hurt me."
Jeane gritted his teeth. "I set a monster face down and pass."

That dork's got more power in his plays then I expected. I need to whittle down his lifepoints fast. She drew her card. More then likely he'll pull something like that dragon combo to blow up my field and when he does this card I just drew will be my way to keep myself alive.
"I set a monster face down and flip the monster card I set stealth bird." the card revealed a see through blue bird that flew toward jeane and through shekinga, slamming into the boy making him back away.
"my stealth birds flip ability lets it deal 1000 damage to you directly. I end my turn dweeb."

jeane could feel his legs weaken from her assualt. Why am I in pain. The holograms aren't real.
Did you forget jeane, your accord with the gate has made every duel you are in one where everyone mistake Is costly. The female voice said.
"Draw!" jeane drew a card and smiled "I drew the card that is gonna turn the tables."
Silver spoon gritted his teeth. No way did he draw that card. I heard that he had one of the eighteen envoy cards but didn't believe it.
"I play armageddon knight in face up attack position." a vortex of darkness appeared in front of jeane and levitating out of it was a man dressed in dark armor wielding a katana with a bandanna on his head.
"Knights affect I send shaddoll sqaumata to grave to send dragon to grave and dragons effect blows up your gravity field."
The image dragon appearing out of the vortex and aimed it's head upwards to blow up the green energy field with a black fireball.
"I then activate the spell card super poly by discard shaddoll beast from hand I can fuse using monsters from either side of the field and I chose your stealth bird with my shekinga to fuse into shaddoll winda."
both stealth bird and shekinga were hit by a ball of light and magnetically drew into one another and turned into a swirl summoning winda a young atop a black dragon(2200/800).
"Activate effect of beast to draw." Jeane looked the card. This could be useful later.
" that's not all. I flip summon shaddoll falco to return my shekinga"
Falco comes out flapping it's wings (600/1400) letting out a shrill cry calling from the black vortex to summon shekinga back.
"I set a card facedown and go to my battle phase."
Silver spoon took a step back.
Damn it he actually is a good duelist. He now has four monsters and no cards in hand which means my des koala is useless.

All three of jeane's monsters combined their attacks falco's sonic shriek, shekinga's earth blast, and winda's black fire breath which collided with silver spoon knocking her on her back making her let out a cry.

all the students were surprised by the vice captain acting this way.

Watching silver spoon try to pick herself up made the soft hearted teen feel pity as it looked like she was actually hurt.
Those two are gonna fight until one of them is knocked out or worse.
"I end my turn. Your move silver spoon."
Silver spoon drew her card and felt her hand shake.
What's going on this twerp has me shook. It was just a bunch of monsters attacking but it felt like I took a hit from a big brute. She frowned tightening her grip on her hand and let out a loud scream.
"You won't make a fool out of Silver Sera Spoon! I'm gonna finish you off and win!" she looked at the card and cackled.
"With this card I will destroy you. Here comes my counter combo." she exclaimed showing the card.
"I activate the effect of Lava golem. I can sacrifice two of your monsters and summon it to your sie of the field. I choose to tribute your winda and shekinga. Have fun with my lava golem." both shekinga and Winda began to show cracks in their bodies as lava came out and flooded his field forming into a being made of lava behind jeane (3000/2500).
suddenly out of the lava beast came light which surrounded jeane in a cage.
"Winda's effect allows me to add el shaddoll fusion to hand"
"Next I activate the spell card… swords of revealing light." she showed the card and shooting down from the sky was over a hundred swords which surrounded jeane and forced his monster to stay still.
"I activate the trap card reshaddoll trap to flip falco face down)
"with this card you can't attack me for three turns. I end my turn… enjoy the lava golems secondary effect." she smiled.
As jeane ended his turn one third of the swords vanished.
"Dra-aagh!" jeae drew his card but felt a burning heat from the golem.
Jeane's lifepoints: 3300
"What is this?" Jeane groaned looking at his card.
"That you fool is lava golems effect. Each standby phase you take 1000 damage to your lifepoints. What are you gonna do now." the girl gloated.
"I'm gonna flip falco to get back winda. I set a card face down and then I banish te reshaddoll trap to flip falco face down again. End my turn"
oh this is rich all he can do is play defense and now all I need is something to finish him off. She drew her card then pondered it.
Okay this won't finish home off immediately but this will hinder him and chip at his life points with my lava golem.
"I activate the spell card mask of the accursed." a green mask with nails in the eyes shot onto winda's face.
'With this card I can equip it to your winda and not only can she not attack but every standby face you lose 700 life points."
oh no, that means jeane is losing 1700 life points a turn. Fluttershy quivered looking at jeane with worry.
"I'm not afraid." jeane said shocking the group. "You duel like a coward Silver spoon. You sacrifice your monsters and hide behind your burn damage never allowing yourself the thrill of a battle victory. That's why I won't lose to you."
"Last I checked you can't attack, your gonna lose half your lifepoints on your next turn, and you have only one card in hand. So what are you gonna do?"
"I activate the spell card el shaddoll fusion which I set to fuse wind and Lava golem into the purifier of darkness. Come forth my fusion monster… el shaddoll grysta." the lava golem melted with the cage into a floor of molten rock into which the masked winda suck into. Bursting from the rock was a hand which shot out to be an knight in purple armor with red flaming wings and helm (2450/1950).
"Winda effect from grave I add shaddoll core to hand."
Silver spoon gritted her teeth. "It doesn't matter what you do I still have swords up and all I need is a couple more burn cards and I can win. Your go."
The crowd began to turn toward jeane watching his expert move.

all I need is him. The envoy of the beginning and I can beat her. This card should bait out an attacker or be good for a fusion.
Another third of the swords disappeared and jeane's monster could move a little more.
"draw!" Silver spoon drew her card and chuckled. "I got the card I needed to defeat you… return to me my magic wave cannon." the cannon once again showed up. "I'm sure your familiar with this card's effects and when I shoot you again with it I will win the duel and both you and the other wimps rare cards. Pass"
"draw!" jeane looks at the card. "I activate the trap card I set last turn. Shaddoll core in attack mode."
Jeane resummoned the core.
"I then set the monster just drew face down. You're go."
the swords completely disappeared.
this duel is getting boring.

"I start my turn by adding a counter to magic wave cannon." the cannon began charging up. "Draw… hehehe." sh snickered.
"hope you weren't plannin to attack for the next two turns. I activate the spell card nightmare stel cage." out of the card shot black light which hardened around jeane in a black steel cage with spikes on the outside.
"I end my turn."
darn, she has me in attack lock loop and she has two turns to grab something else to stall me. The boy frowned. "I draw!"
"I flip my set monster to reveal shaddoll hedgehog to add el shaddoll fusion to hand." jeane added the card from deck to hand. "I then activate shaddoll fusion to fuse hedgehog and falco t form el shaddoll winda." winda once again formed from the two shaddolls mixing.
"But I'm not done yet with this fusion festival. I activate el shaddoll fusion to fuse winda and core to make shaddoll shekinga." winda turned into a ball of light and core did the same fusing into Shekinga.
"Activate effect of winda to return core to hand. I set a card face down and end my turn."
"I place another counter on my magic wave cannon that makes three now and all I need one more and I win. You hear that. You have one turn before I win this duel and take my prizes. Say goodbye to your rare cards you wonder wimps. Draw!"
"I summon ebon magician curran. She has an effect that at the start of my standby phase she deals 300 points of damage to your life points to you for each monster you have. Clocks ticking loser." silver spoon said, ending her turn.
Jeane frowned as he drew his card. His frown turned to a smile. "this duel will be over this turns… of that you are correct silver spoon. But I will be the victor and this card will be one which leads me to victory."
Jeane slammed the card on the duel disk. "I banish a light monster in el shaddoll construct and a dark monster in el shaddoll winda to summon my rarest card. The one you desire to rob me of and the sealer of your doom. Come forth, envoy of the beginning, Black Luster Soldier." a storm raged as lightning struck the area around the duel area. The storms cloud broke with a beam of light.
Descending from the light was the man in his gold and black arm wielding his curved.
"Pfft, so, more monsters for me to tax you with my magician. Is that all you got."
"Not quite, it's time to get rid of your magician."
"But you can't attack because of my cage."
"But I can activate effects like My soldiers second ability which allows me to banish your monster by sacrificing his ability to attack this turn… which you have made an easier sacrifice." Black soldier raised then slashed sending a physical black slash through the cage damaging it and hitting the ebon magician curran.
"Doesn't matter," she spat out.
Dang it. My cage is done and I don't have enough counters to win this duel. Silver spoon drew her cards and an evil grin came to her face. What a top deck! With this mirror force card I can bait a direct attack and destroy all his monsters… then I can win this duel on my next turn.
"I set one card and pass."
"This is over silver spoon because I know that both your back row cards are bad for me I'll activate this card I just drew. Twin twisters!"

"I discard the reshaddoll trap I got back a while ago and use my twisters to destroy your backrow." out of jeane's duel disk came two tornados which destroyed mirror force and the cannon.
"How could I lose to a wimp like you."
"you treat your cards like resources to be expended instead of like allies to be cherished. That is why I will defeat you now and stop you from stealing our cards!" Jeane pointed his finger at silver. "Deliver the finishing blow my Soldier. Twilight slash."
Black luster soldier raised his sword and slashed another black slash which hit silver spoon directly knocking her against the wall of CHS.
Jeane picked up his cards then put then back in his deck. The boy walked up to fluttershy extending the duel disk out to her. "This is yours Fluttershy."
The girl with a blush on her face giggled holding it in her hand.
A girl crying broke the moment and the grouped turned toward her.
The crowd mummered then bore their eyes Into jeane.
"you big jerk! That hurt! I'm gonna tell diamond tiara what you did and she's gonna beat your butt in duel monsters… this isnt over." Silver spoon ran off crying.
The group glared at jeane and looked like they were about to attack.
The bell rang annoucing lunch period was over.
The kids groaned as they walked away from the mass
"You did a good job in that duel." Fluttershy said softly then gave him a hug. 'Thank you for saving my grandma's card."
Jeane blushed and placed his hand on her back. "No problem."
Just then someone loudly cheering caught both peoples attention.
Both jeane and fluttershy looked at the source a girl with rainbow hair in a ponytail mullet combo dressed in a sports uniform with white sneakers and a smile.
"so your the guy who saved my best friend from that bully. That's petty awesome I'm…"
"rainbow dash!" jeane exclaimed, his heart beating a mile per hour.
The girl giggled. "A fan huh,"
"umhmm." jeane mumbled.
She giggled "well it's always nice to meet my fans. Hey me and flutters are meeting our friends at the corner, you should come."
"i'll be there… uh huh, I'm uh, hi."
"hi hi… see you at the corner. Come on flutters."
Both the girls walked away and fluttershy waved her fingers at jeane.
"Bye."
The boy smiled as he finally met the girl he had a crush since middle school.
