A Fan's Desire

At the age of twenty, Roxas was having quite a good life. He had a boyfriend, he had a job, and he’d finished his classes at a two year college in California, and was now living in the dorms at San Francisco Academy of art, taking acting classes and music classes. On top of all of that, multiple publishing companies had contacted him, wanting to publish his book for him. Lastly, he was working part time as a bartender, which helped him immensely with his writing. lets back up a little bit.

Matthew Keith Mansell had been born an orphan. His mother died giving birth to him, and his father had deserted the both of them the moment he heard his mom was pregnant with him. He was sent to an orphanage in Nevada. There, he met many families and couples wanting to adopt a foster child. However, in nearly every case, in which he was adopted, his adopted parents, and family, died. They generally met cruel and brutal fates. Eventually however, he was taken in by a Russian family living in San Francisco California; The Belikovs, and they lasted far longer than the rest.

It was then that he discovered one of his favorite past times: Writing. From the mere age of eight he took a liking to the musing of writers like Erin Hunter, J.K. Rowling, and James Patterson. He also began reading fan fiction online. You see, the belikovs were quite…wealthy, not to mention charitable and generous. They gave Matthew, everything and most anything he ever wanted. And when he came out to them that he was Bisexual, they welcomed it with love and care.

By the time Matthew turned fifteen, he had adopted the nickname, “Roxas” amongst his friends and sister, Demi. The reason being for this nickname was the fact that he looked and acted almost exactly the same as Roxas from the kingdom hearts series. He even liked to spike his hair just like him. He vowed he would eventually change his first name to said nickname, as he liked it far more than his real name.

Then the year 2010 rolled around, and one of Matt’s friends showed him a Television show named “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” At first he thought it was too girly, even for him. However, after he gave it a chance he grew to love it. He became what would later be known as a “Brony” Delving into the subculture without a moment’s hesitation. However, the happiness and bliss was very short lived, for soon great tragedy struck.

On the eve of Roxas’ seventeenth birthday, the family estate caught on fire, or rather, was set ablaze by someone. Roxas had been sleeping at the time, but the sudden heat forced him awake. He put on a trench coat, buttoned it up as fast as he could and then ran through the house searching for his sister and his parents.

He found Demi Belikov, his older sister, in her room, trapped beneath a beam. Roxas, with a great deal of effort, shoved the beam aside, and then dragged her out. She was unconscious, but excessively warm, as if she could catch on fire at any moment. He picked up an urn from her nightstand, and then chucked it out the nearby window, shattering it. Next, he took her in his arms, and jumped from the window to the hard concrete outside. His eyes widened as he placed her on the ground, and he felt his bones snap. He had severely fractured the bones in his legs, and although they were not broken, he was in significant pain.

He took Demi to the ambulance that only just arrived on the scene, and then staggered back to the house, muttering about how he had to find his parents. He searched frantically, for his parents, but the fire was getting far worse than he’d hoped, and he had to get out, so just as he ran out the front door, the whole house came toppling down upon itself. The fire department had already arrived and was quickly working to put the flames out. It wasn’t long before a fireman approached him and asked him if he was alright and if anyone else was inside, “My sister, Demi might be hurt. Please take her to the hospital. My parents were in there. I…I…I think they’re dead.” He said as tears started to well up in his eyes, and he turned around and ran to Demi, hugging her tightly as she cried into his shoulder, stroking his hair to try to soothe him.

It took merely a week before the pair of them inherited the family fortune and control of all business assets. Demi invested in having a new estate built, and they moved into their vacation home at Miami Beach, while it was being constructed. Roxas on the other hand, set aside money for college, and then invested in the stock market, and charities.

When Roxas turned 18, he moved out of their vacation home, and went to a community college for two years, just to get the annoying, required classes out of the way. Then he went straight to the academy of art in San Francisco, where he moved into the dorms and met his boyfriend. Whom he was quite sure was ‘the one’ for him. They were madly in love, and since they were roommates, they were hardly ever apart, unless they were in class. They did however, share their acting class, and that brought them ever closer together.

Then, one night, December the thirteenth of the year 2014, The mad man arrived. It began with a familiar sound of an engine coming from a blue box. And then a mad man stepped outside of it, dressed in a suit and a bowtie. The blue box had appeared right there, in the dorm room, and had awoken the sleeping couple. Roxas sat up in bed and stared at the man whom he knew all too much about, but when he saw that it was literally, Matt Smith, as The Doctor, he simply could not believe his eyes. Both he and Arcadius [his boyfriend] said simultaneously, “Is this for real? Or is this some kind of joke!?”

When The Doctor replied, “Why would I be joking around about having accidentally, wound up in your…let's see…college dorm room, I suppose?”

Roxas immediately covered himself, being half naked; he didn’t feel adequately clothed to even be in the doctor’s presence. His eyes, however, could not hide the fact he was pretty much fangasming over the sight before him and he actually said, “I’ve always wanted to go on an adventure with you…” He would soon come to regret those words. Because then he said what all of the doctor’s companions had, generally, said, before they tagged along, “I’m going with you, and that’s that…where are we going anyway?” He asked, as he opened his closet and began getting dressed.

It took him a whole ten minutes of deciding what to wear, during which he, Arcadius, and The Doctor, argued constantly over this whole fiasco. Now he was wearing tight, simple black t-shirt with a pair of black pants, black boots and black gloves, over his Organization XIII cosplay cloak, he had made himself.

He gave Arcadius a goodbye kiss, and then marched right into the TARDIS. Their destination was set for Italy, in a hundred years. However, something went, horribly, horribly wrong.

When Roxas opened his eyes, he saw that, well, nothing was visibly different, inside of the TARDIS. Of course that’d be the case. But something definitely felt…off. He looked to The Doctor and asked, “Well, are we in Italy or not?”

“Only one way to find out.” The Doctor replied, as they headed out of the blue police box, and then stumbled out of it. Clearly, they were not in Italy.

For one, everything was…brighter and much more…colorful and cartoony looking, than before, but that wasn’t what made The Doctor scream, “WHAT THE WHAT!?”

For starters, they were both, standing on all fours, in this case, they were laying down on all fours. Secondly, their clothes were drastically different. The Doctor wasn’t even wearing any clothes except for a brown tie. His hair or rather, mane, was slicked back, yet spiked at the same time. His skin was a sort of tanish color, as was Roxas’. Only Roxas’ skin was of a slighter greener, yet lighter yellow shade. Roxas was still wearing the very same clothes he had been wearing, the black cloak with the hood, the gloves, the boots, the shirt, and the pants beneath it all. He barely managed to stand up as he put his hands in front of his face, then pried his gloves off with his teeth and noticed he didn’t have hands, but instead hooves. A look of shock and horror crossed over his now, equine, yet still very feminine, face as he turned to The Doctor and said, “We most certainly are not in Italia.”

The Doctor gave a sigh and shrugged, “Definitely not Italy. I fear, I have been here before…And perhaps I still am…” He looked puzzled and agitated at the same time; he turned around and started to walk back to the TARDIS.

Roxas’ eyes widened as he realized where they were, “Oh gods no. Please do not tell me, we’re in Equestria. You even look, just like Doctor Whooves. Please no…” He walked to a nearby puddle of water and stared at his reflection. Indeed his skin, now fur, was now a deep red. His hooves were a creamy, almost ivory, and white. Lastly, his mane; Roxas’ mane was a deep strawberry blonde, that hung down in front of his eyes, and then trailed down to the middle of his back. His tail, was of the same color, and cascaded down his rear beautifully. But what caught him off guard was the pointy, almost sharp looking horn, atop his head, “I… I’m a unicorn pony?” he asked himself aloud. He then turned around to look at The Doctor.

The Doctor answered, “That’s what it looks like.” Then he walked right back into the TARDIS. Inside the blue box, he was back to normal again, only he was his previous self now. He looked quite bewildered as he felt up his face and then shook himself, “Well now…” He muttered as he began inspecting the TARDIS.

Roxas headed inside the blue box, and nearly screamed. He was back to normal now, just as the doctor was. He cocked an eyebrow and then flipped his bangs to the side, wondering what in the hell was going on, but as he turned around and looked at the magical land of Equestria, it looked just the same as it did when they were in it. “Okay, I knew the TARDIS could translate languages, but when we stepped out into Equestria, we were ponies. But now, we’re…well I’m human, and you’re still a time lord…how is that?”

The Doctor didn’t seem to hear him,“Ugh…not this place again, I still have nightmares about Pinkie’s cupcakes…bleh.”

Roxas cocked an eyebrow, “But the pony thing is a little…..I’m sorry…what?”

“You’ve never wondered why Pinkies hair is that color?”

“I…. don’t think want to know!”

“Regardless, Alloz-y!”

The doctor and Roxas walked on into the city, their footsteps were rather loud as they set foot, or in this case, hooves, out of the TARDIS. They transformed into ponies once more, and Roxas turned around to look at his cutie mark. It was now the shockwave that came with a sonic boom, a sonic boom, and then about ten musical notes, all over the cutie mark. He smiled warmly at it, before turning his attention back to his walking, and the road ahead.

Roxas had quite a bit of trouble walking on all fours and it would take him quite a while to get used to it. The Doctor on the other hand, was walking along just fine and this…well this sort of ticked Roxas off.

“You know you can slow… AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!”

“Hiiiiiiiiiiiii there!”

“The hell is you?

“Well I was hiding in the bushes and I… HI DOCTOR!!!”

“Was it... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!”

Roxas’ eyes widened as he took a step forward, “Doctor, I…I thought you knew pinkie. Haven’t you been here before?”

The Doctor was curled up in a fetal position”….cupcakes…..AHHHHHHHHH!”

“You’ve got some nice glasses doc, I wonder how well… they… bake” The Doctor seemed to be quite terrified of Pinkie's words, and to avoid her getting any closer, he stood up and galloped away, heading toward pony vile at full speed.

Roxas and Pinkie Pie chased after The Doctor.

“Why is he so frightened of you?” Roxas asked as they galloped after him, he was finding it surprisingly easier than walking or trotting.

Pinkie replied with a cheerful, “I dunno. I guess he’s just mortally terrified of me? He’s weird… Hey! Who are you anyway!?”
Roxas stopped running for a minute, and so did pinkie.

The male thought hard for a second or two. Well I certainly can’t tell her my name is Roxas…so…hmmmmmm…

“S-sonic Beat…yeah. Yeah just call me Sonic Beat.” Roxas took a second glance at his flank and smiled at the cutie mark of a sonic boom, and musical notes exploding from said sonic boom.

“Nice to meet ‘cha Sonic Beat. My name’s Pinkie Pie!” She held out a hoof, then took Roxas’ in hers and shook hooves with him like crazy.

Moments later though, The Doctor came racing back past them. In a split second, Roxas watched as The Doctors sonic screwdriver flew from his pocket and landed in front of him. The last words he heard from the doctor were, “Sorry, gotta go save Britain again. Bye!” And then he and the TARDIS were gone.

Roxas leaned down, bent his neck and took the screwdriver into his mouth and said through a muffled muzzle, “He’ll be back, eventually. I don’t think he could get very far without this.”

“So then, how about a take you on a tour? Or…or maybe…no, no you wouldn’t like it. Just follow me.” Roxas shrugged as he followed behind Pinkie and they started to head into Ponyvile, at a steady trot.

Roxas had absolutely no idea what kind of crazy shenanigans he was about to get into. Nonetheless, he hoped he would have a lot of fun here, in Equestria. In fact, he was quite sure it’d be fun…once he got the hang of being on all fours twenty four seven.
