Equestria, turned to ruin by war and conflict. The stories goes on for generations, of how such weapons of mass destruction, better known all over as Megaspells riddled Equestria with terror. Nowhere was safe outside, from the surface to the skies, except for underground. Fallout Equestria: 404 is the tale of a male pony born in Stable 404. He comes to learn about his family's past and explores the stable, before adventuring out to the wasteland.

Long ago there was land of green grass, skies of breathable air, oceans of clear blue, clouds that could be described as cotton. If I remember correctly from what my mother and father said in bits and pieces, they said they were told that every creature got along for the most part, and that harmony was real rather than a concept."

"But, it seems if I were to tell my own children or their children the story about this current world, it would be horrible to imagine or even think about. Seems the stories from before have completely flipped upside-down. Heh, I guess that's funny in some sense... actually, I don't even know what to think about that."
