Part 7 Wake up history

In the dream of the main character

"And in this way you can dispel powerful illusions" ends his lesson Night

Having finished writing my synopsis, I begin to stretch my body. After a short warm-up, I look at my notebook and a question appears in my head

"Can I ask you something?" I ask her, and after an approving nod, I ask my question "Why am I writing all this down?"

Night looked at me, then at my synopsis and with a sharp movement of her hoof hits herself on the head, so hard that there is a loud clang of her helmet

"Faust me, why didn't I get it right away? I usually saw how any students in the classroom always write everything down, but I forgot that you can't transfer all this to the outside world" she says, still holding her hooves to her face

I couldn't help but smile when I heard her jamb and it seems she noticed it

"What's so funny?"

"Yes, it's just very funny" I answer her

"There is nothing funny here, now all the notes you have written will have to be rewritten in the real world" she says not cheerfully

The smile immediately disappears on my face, I didn't like the idea of rewriting everything all over again. And then an idea pops up in my head

"I have an idea, but I do not know if it will work"

"Well, what did you come up with" she asks me with interest

"Is it possible, with the help of a small illusion, to reproduce my abstract in the real world?"

Night suddenly freezes in place and looks blankly at the night sky, as if there is an answer to my question in it

After a while, her gaze shifts to me and a faint smile appears on her face

"And this can work" she says "As a rule, illusions themselves are created and presented in our head, now we are in your dream where everything happens from the power of imagination, and if in the real world you imagine an object created in your dream, then you can transform it into a non—physical copy in front of you" finishes his monologue and he looks at me "And you think well, but there is only one thing! You understand that every time you transform it in the real world, your magic reserve will be depleted every second, and with your volume, it will last a maximum of a couple of minutes"

"Damn, and I didn't foresee that" this time, now I'm hitting my face with my palm

"But!" she draws my attention "It will be a good practice, and why?" she asks the question, expecting me to continue

"Because with regular use of magic, the maximum core volume increases" I finish her sentence

"Well done, you can immediately see that you are not sleeping in class" she praises me

"Actually, logically, I'm sleeping now" I tell her

"You sleep with your body, but not with your mind" she notices "While you are here, we can regularly study ..." she does not have time to finish her dialogue, as something began to creak behind her back

When we turned in the direction of the sound, we found a familiar door that began to slowly open. Night and I look at each other and look again at the door from which a cold wind blew and black smoke began to ooze reaching us. I felt uncomfortable from the oppressive atmosphere, I snuggled closer to Night, and she didn't seem to mind.

When the door swung open, we stood in silence and waited for an unexpected guest to enter my dream. After a couple of minutes, footsteps began to be heard coming from the door in our direction, with each step they became louder and louder, until bright red eyes appeared in the doorway.

Night suddenly says softly "Wake up" I slowly turn around in her direction and see a frightened look on her face, she looks at me and starts talking louder "Wake up faster!" after her words, her horn begins to glow with a bright blue light that blinds me

The real world

I wake up abruptly in a cold sweat from my dream and begin to analyze my room. The room looked no better than those I had been in before, but the only thing that it was somehow different, there were posters with human anatomy, a hanging skeleton and cabinets with ampoules and pills "It looks like I'm in a medical office," I thought, looking around and seeing only quietly sleeping and the door Scales "And one"

"Night, can you hear me?" I call my neighbor, but I didn't hear the answer "I hope everything is fine with you there"

Having assessed my situation, I wanted to get up from my recumbent place, as soon as my feet touched the cold floor and the blanket fell from my body, I realized that I was completely naked and only a pendant weighing on my neck on which there was already a clearly visible crack "Why am I naked?"

"Woof" sounded at my feet, I looked towards the sound and saw Scales smiling there, I was pleased and I decided to take her in my arms. As soon as she was at the level of my head, she began to lick my face very aggressively without leaving a single dry spot on it

This continued until the door to my room began to open and three people entered the room, two of whom I knew, and the third did not. As soon as they entered and noticed me, they stood at the entrance as if rooted to the spot and the only thing they did was blink in my direction often

"Bless our mother, you woke up" Yon shouted joyfully and started hugging me fast "Do you understand how long you slept?" she asks me "You slept for TWO DAYS" she shouted

I sat naked in complete shock "For two days? That long?"

Two other people approach us, one of them was Yut, and I didn't know the other's name. He looked like all his colleagues, but the only difference from the others was the presence of a hospital gown and transparent glasses

"Sister, I didn't want to interrupt this moment" Yut gives his attention "But do you realize that you are hugging an absolute naked man?"

Yon abruptly freezes in place, but everything continues to hug me, and I, in turn, just sat and did not move

"Brother, help me" she asks

"And how can I help?"

"Close my eyes"

"Why? What didn't we see there?"

"Just close them"

Yut sighs heavily, but still decides to help his sister. He approaches her back and covers her eyes with his hands, only after that, she lets me go and I could see her dark pink cheeks "What's wrong with her, why don't I feel anything?" I was sitting there and didn't understand the whole situation

"Please, can you get dressed?" her brother addresses me "I don 't want to spend the whole conversation in this position" and points to his hands

I nod at his request and try to find my clothes with my eyes. Finding my clothes neatly stacked on a chair, I begin to get dressed. While I was getting dressed, I noticed that the man in the bathrobe was staring at me intently, but he never said a word

When I got dressed, Yut opens her sister's eyes and they all come up to me together (but Yon still had a faint blush) and they had a frown

The dialogue was started by that man in a bathrobe "Let me get to know you" he gets up from his chair and makes a small bow "My name is Dr. Jekyll here and I am responsible for the health of our whole family here. You were brought here a couple of days ago due to a sharp loss of consciousness, as a result of which we could carry out all medical checks and tests" he says and takes a stack of papers from his desk "I must say that all your indicators are below normal, but not critical, but you need to gain enough weight because you clearly have signs of exhaustion, but..." he puts his papers on the table and stares at me intently, which sent goosebumps down my spine "Do you understand what you are?"

I was caught off guard by such a question, but the only way I could answer was by shaking my head as a denial.

The doctor exchanged glances with the twins, after receiving a nod from them, he continued "I'll start with your physiology, after examining your tests, we came to the conclusion that you literally belong to our genus, besides, your DNA is identical with…"

"THIS IS LATER" Yon suddenly interrupts the dialogue "You are an ordinary Changeling like us" and with a piercing look drills into the doctor, who in turn took the hint and decided to change the subject

"Okay, we'll talk about this another time, and now we'll raise such a topic as ..." here he decided to make a dramatic pause and continue "Magic"

I was sitting with my jaw open from such a topic "Did they really notice something?"

"So that there are no questions, let's demonstrate it better. Miss Yon, can you please show that we can"

Yon, nodding, goes to the center of the room and suddenly, in the green glow of the flame, changes his image of a person unknown to me, and not into a simple one, but into a man

"As you can see from this demonstration, our genus specializes in disguise and metamorphosis into another living species, starting from animals and ending with other human personalities"

I was sitting in amazement at what was happening, I didn't stop looking at Yon in a man's body, my gaze fell to her groin (I wonder if she changed in all places), when she noticed where I was looking, she abruptly returns to her appearance in the same flame "I answer your question, yes, and there" she answers my silent question

"Let's give you a small tour of our history. It started a few decades ago, our family wandered from place to place, because none of the countries wanted to deal with us, but one of the quiet nights a rainbow wave passed through the sky from one equator and leaving the opposite side of its beginning. You would know how much noise this strange phenomenon raised, but after a couple of months the press forgot about it, or maybe someone deliberately shut everyone's mouths about what was happening" he stopped, took a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket, took out one to light up, after a short puff he continued

"Funny fact, although almost everyone living on this planet forgot about this phenomenon, but we remembered it. It's as if we were forgotten or specially separated from the general part of society. But most importantly, after that wave, our people had chaos, everyone began to ignite with a green flame and change their appearance. Having heard it then, I would have said that it was madness" he took a puff and let out a ball of smoke

"Fortunately, our leaders of that era were able to take this chaos under control and remake this nightmare into our gift, which to this day we use for our purposes" stopped for another puff and continued "By the way, one of the leaders was the mother of our mother Chrysalis herself" finished her story, made the last ball of smoke and threw the cigarette butt in the trash

I sat and tried to digest this information, but my head was empty and I couldn't at least catch on to something. "Night are you here? I need your help" I tried to call her again but she still couldn't be heard "Something I don't like"

"Okay, stop sitting" Yon distracts from my thoughts "we still have a lot of work to do. By then, our mother will be personally overseeing your checks."

I was surprised by such attention to myself and it looks like she understood me and decided to answer me

"If you're wondering why, it's because of a recent incident that happened to you. She was interested to see your magical potential IN PERSON" she exclaimed joyfully "Every child dreams about this with us, because if you show an excellent result, then you can be taken into our mother's personal team" she jumped up and down with me

I looked at her with an indifferent face and it seems to me that this show-off will end badly

"Since you're being discharged" with these words, she looked at the doctor and he nodded in response "We'll go eat a little now and immediately proceed to demonstrations of your abilities" she abruptly takes my hands and continues without any embarrassment "I'm so interested to see what you're capable of" and quickly pulls me to the exit without seeing obstacles in the image of his brother and pulls in an unknown direction
