The mostly unsettled podzol of the hunting grounds always had a habit of crunching at the worst times. Prey never quite knew which of their hoofbeats would send out an especially sharp crack that always felt like it could be heard in another CTS site if ponies would just poke their ears up to hear it. So when it came to the especially attentive predators stalking these grounds, moving silently across the dense canopy of the forest in search of their next playtime, the pony in question may as well have just let off a flare gun to declare their presence to the rest of the world. Even if no other creature was there, a pony’s coat tended to stand on end for quite some time after, reeling from the presence of a thousand phantom eyes, or possibly a pair or more of very real ones.
It was a hair safer in the trees for designated targets, but even then word traveled quickly along the shadows, reaching every corner a normal pony couldn’t see. By the time a false sense of security had been achieved by flight, most prey had already passed by at least half a dozen preds, each one making a mental note in case their eagle eye system indicated somepony on top of the sturdy branches with an enticing tag. By the time the prey stopped to catch their breath, it was almost a statistical guarantee that the pred who had already ordered them on the menu was ready to start their meal.
The section Delly had entered from the prey gate was arguably one of the worst for a pony who was hoping for a long, tiring experience from their chase. The Waldgrab didn’t have a clear origin for its Germaneic name, but it was absolutely infamous within the circles that knew of it. The torchguard occasionally used the area for drilling their forest operations because it just so happened to be what they considered the worst case scenario. It was a copse of forest so dense with thick trunked conifers and gnarled beeches it was nearly impossible to see more than fifteen meters in any direction, and their interwoven roots made anything but the slowest progress difficult beyond reason.
The guards' usage of the area had itself caused another adverse effect for any prey hoping to evade notice. That much simulated combat in one area meant there were more than enough identifying features on each tree that they could be distinguished from one another at a glance, so by simply resting anywhere, their position was forfeit. The area was so well mapped by preds that a subdialect of Dovectea, Hunter’s cant, formed so any location could be specified in the space of a short breath.
Escape was not an option.
Grace calmly slithered along the top of the tree line, watching the various creatures skittering around under her, visible through the interwoven vines and branches that formed the upper canopy. The hunting ground was almost ingenious in its structure, a topmost layer that was incredibly easy to traverse,with multiple gaps meant to reach a lower set of boughs and paths meant for more direct stalking. Finally there was the ground layer, filled with obstructions that made it nearly impossible for prey to keep a good lead ahead of their predator.
It was noisy in the canopy that day, and Grace couldn’t help but watch all the other predators glancing down, trying to find one of the “free to catch” prey skittering around below them that suited their tastes. Grace had a target though, and she wasn’t going to be using any magical assistance to find her. She could see the dim glow of the eagle eye enchantment reflecting back on the eyes of the predators she passed, giving them hints of what direction to go. She paused as a griffin rushed past her, diving straight through the treeline and pouncing a poor, unsuspecting earth pony she’d seen running by moments earlier, dragging the poor creature off screaming in desperation to one of the strategically hidden playrooms.
The lamia felt that using those sorts of tools spoiled the fun, she was all about finding her prey to devour the old fashioned way, using the senses she had to lead her towards the night’s fun, occasionally seeking the help of the pack if she really didn’t have any proper leads. Despite the random nature of the prey gate for the hunting grounds, she still had a rather good idea of where she might find Delly. The various sectors of the hunting grounds were laid out differently, if for no other reason than to give both parties an interesting chase. She’d want to avoid areas with more heavily knotted roots, they’d give Grace all the advantage, so it would just mean there’d be a short chase with little to no climax, and that wouldn’t be fun for either of them. So she simply headed deeper inward, away from the predator gate she’d come in through, keeping an ear open for something that might point her in a better direction.
Delly still pressed on, glancing around as she tried to keep some lookout for a pred. She only had to worry about one, but being spotted at all could mean the end of this little walk through the woods before it even got the chance started. Her eyes scanned the lower canopy, the occasional long stemmed torch stuck between the roots only providing a precious few flickers of warm light, which only served in turn to cast dancing shadows that stalked the pony with each step she took.
One of those shadows looked just real enough to spook her, a twisted branch looking too serpentine for her to not doubt her own vision, sending the panicked mare much deeper into the forest at as close to a full gallop that she could manage. Delly did her best to keep her wits about her, recognizing the path towards the bramble she was on, and doing her best to correct course through the mossy lowland biome that bordered it. She did her best to stay as quiet as she could manage, trying to watch every step she took, but the moment she tried to glance back up, find her bearings again and see if she really was being followed…

Time stood still. Despite all logic, the sound seemed almost like it echoed through the grove, totally silencing everything it touched. She shakily removed the offending hoof, the two halves of the branch she’d stepped on clattering quietly aside into the refuse under her, almost unnoticeable in the carpet of needles and acorns.
That moment of stillness was fleeting. No sooner had the unicorn looked away from the former twig than the sounds started. Howls, yips, and dozens of other noises began to rise over the natural din of the forest, the sounds of scattering hoofbeats fading off in all directions, followed quickly by the sounds of tree branches bending under the weight of their new occupants, desperate to see if they could finally find their meal for the night. Delly was now the center of attention in a rapidly expanding area. It was well past time to start running again.
Grace heard the snap, but it was the merciless teasing of preds she could already see above that area that let her know she probably had her mark. For an unmarked pony, that would’ve been more than enough of an invitation to start a chase on the ground, but it was close enough to where she thought Delly might be that she figured it would be worth it to go over and check out what was going on with all the noise.
Only seconds later, and Delly was back to a full gait, but even with a system full of adrenaline, it was becoming clear it wasn’t going to be enough to keep her going like this forever. She pulled out every trick she could think of on the fly, slipping under arching roots and using rocks as springboards to coax every extra bit of impulse she could manage out of her body, but every time she figured there could be some degree of safety, the branches above started to ruffle again, reminding her just how close she was to being caught.
Grace smiled, seeing a brief flicker of a blue tail disappearing behind a tree to the north. The real chase had started and she was well fitted to this part of the play. She dipped down to the lower boughs, slithering between them quietly as she finally managed to get the pony in her sights. She watched Delly scramble along, calmly pursuing her and moving from branch to branch as Delly skipped over the rocky terrain of the moss fields below her. She was still out of sight, occasionally smiling up when she saw a pred above her that had stopped to peek through the canopy and appreciate the skill of the hunt.
The longer Delly galloped, the more her breath started to come out ragged, and the closer the noises above her seemed to get, gently showering needles, cones, and occasionally a panic inducing drop of liquid on top of her. The forest almost seemed to wind around itself as she fled deeper. As much as she wanted to think she could leave without getting caught, her hooves were slowly starting to wear down, her movements were starting to get clumsy, and her whole body started to feel fatigue catching up to her as quickly as her pursuer. She was going to have to stop soon, whether she wanted to or not. There wasn’t going to be a way out this time, she was going to be caught, and nobody was here to save her.
Grace could see that Delly was slowing down, and in a place that she couldn’t be any happier for. In her panic, the mare had accidentally circled back around into the deeper forest, and in her visibly exhausted state, it was only a matter of time until she made a mistake and one of her stumbling hooves found the wrong foothold. There were no bushes for her to hide under, the much larger trees meant they were further apart, and the ground had long since parted to expose some of their knotwork of roots, just as easy as the branches for her to navigate across, but more than enough to spook her quarry into a compromising position.
The exertion of staying at a full gallop was getting to be too much, so Delly knew she needed to slow down before her aching body would simply refuse to comply. She reduced her speed to a gentle trot, glancing around to see if she might have been able to get a bit of distance between her and her pursuer. The second she sighed in relief however, there was a serpentine hiss right above her head. The sheer surprise was enough for her to reflexively jump forward, trying to find just where it came from, but a root caught her hoof before it could find the ground. She tried to right herself, but the momentum sent her tumbling over onto her back, sprawled out and gasping for air as her exertion finally caught up with her, her body refusing to move against the dull ache that seemed to radiate through every inch of her being.
It was over. All that was left was to wait to be taken.
The mare watched as the branches above her started to bow, a sleek tail starting to descend from the canopy above, slowly inching down to her level before slithering under her back and lifting it slightly. The tail coiled around and around, almost tauntingly slowly to make sure that Delly knew she was caught and that there was no escape. Eventually the mare was brought above the tree line, face to face with a rather smug looking blue and white lamia, her tail slowly coiling more and more to ensure that no matter what, Delly didn’t have a single chance to escape. Grace slipped in a rather wicked looking smile, making sure to show off her teeth before starting to taunt her quarry, her forked tongue flicking close to Delly’s face. “Mmh, somepony seems to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. You should’ve been a bit more careful watching your step. Don’t worry though, I’ll make sure you’re taken care of soon enough.”
The lamia slithered along, occasionally glancing back whenever she felt Delly try to struggle out of her coiled tail, flexing it slightly to make sure her catch knew that she was going to stay safely locked in place. She found the tree she was looking for, a particularly large golden oak with a split central trunk; it only took a small bit of searching along the sides before she found a sizable knothole between the two spreading branches. The room itself was almost shockingly plain in comparison to some of the other rooms on offer, but it was all but perfect for what was planned. The bed was far larger than even clocktower standards tended to dictate, meant to accommodate any sort of monster that might be stalking the woods at night along with any number of quarries they’d brought with them to play. Grace, however, wasn’t quite heading there yet. This was going to be for Delly. They both felt like they could spend forever like this, a perfect power exchange, letting Grace play with her body freely as she forced Delly's poor overstimulated nervous system through the same bouquet of wonderful sensation a second time before the adrenaline from the chase had even worn off. But as always, nothing can last forever, and as Grace's body reached it’s very first peak, she knew it was time to send Delly on a trip.
In such a weakened state, any sort of tension meant Delly had to be getting close, so the moment she went over the edge, the mare let herself do the same, almost swallowing automatically and forcing the mare all the way into her body. Both of them were in the throes of bliss, Grace’s jaw slipping closed so she could join in the moans, still hearing the bliss Delly was experiencing inside of her, even bringing up her own tail tip so the two of them could be just a little bit closer than they were a moment before.
When the headrush wore off, Grace was actually surprised with herself that she was actually able to go through with it, the sensation of the large mass of Delly inside of her was something unique, feeling the unicorn slowly trail down her body inch by inch, and feeling a certain odd satisfaction, not just the same catharsis as letting a good meal settle, but almost a sense of pride that as far as she could tell, not a single thing had managed to go wrong. Delly was unhurt, and all she really needed to do was just sit back and recover.
She laid back, lounging in the sensation of being so full, strong, undulating muscles doing their work, and gently pushing Delly in deeper, giving her just what she wanted. She was very careful about making this variant form, going as far as getting a test to make sure that her stomach lining was PH-neutral. She could just relax, and give Delly as much time as she wanted to enjoy herself.
And that’s when she felt the poke.
As it turns out, usually ponies don’t think about things like horn guards in the heat of the moment, and while it wasn’t exactly painful, it was definitely a sensation that wasn’t easy to ignore, and told her the exact facing and orientation of the pony inside of her. Grace tried shifting around slightly just to maybe adjust the angle of Delly's head, but there were still occasional awkward little pokes, so eventually, the mare just figured it would be best to write it off unless it actually became something irritating.
Meanwhile inside the lamia, Delly was totally engulfed in darkness. The warm, wet air and slippery walls squeezing every inch of her body, slowly pushing her along and rubbing at every inch of her body kept her from trying to get any rest, even though her eyes were fluttering shut as she tried to focused on just how wonderful the sensation of completing her mistress was. She didn’t have much room to move, but she barely managed to get her hoof turned around, just barely slipping into the gap between her crotch and thigh. She didn’t need to take care of anything at the moment, but at the same time it would be nice to be trapped with proper access to enjoy herself once she actually made her way into a tighter section.
Slowly but surely the lamia’s body worked it’s magic, slowly pulling the poor little pony along, the confines of her living prison slowly rubbing over her body, massaging her with a wet warmth that made her whole body tingle, each undulating ring of muscle working out what little tension could hope to remain in the defenseless mare’s frame, the vast majority of her energy simply going into the slow, deep breaths that made sure she wouldn’t put herself in any more danger.
The coils of tissue and muscle slowly wound tighter around delly, her hoof practically forced up against her sex as every inch of the mare’s body was squeezed over and over by the shifting muscles that steadily pushed her further and further along the lamia’s digestive tract. The helpless mare was forcibly slid further and further, till she felt the back of her curled neck hit something soft and yielding. The pressure around her grew even tighter and she felt the warm, thin wall in front of her give way, felt it spread open as she was forced through, the spreading orifice tightly hugging her form as she was pushed through into her final resting place.
Grace’s stomach wrapped around her newest meal, not as tight or constricting as the passage to it had been, wrapping gently but firmly around Delly’s entire body. The warm, damp walls rippling and squeezing rhythmically all over. The curled up mare let out a small sigh of pleasure at the intimate embrace her mistress was giving her, part of her knowing she was perfectly safe, even in the belly of a predator; her mistress had made very sure that it would be that way before trying this.
On the outside, Grace rested one hoof on her swollen belly as she felt her meal settle in place; the other still slowly massaging her slit. Despite her trepidations at doing this, she found herself enjoying feeling this close to her pet, it was a whole new level of intimacy to have Delly so much a part of her.
The lamia curled her tail around herself, her hoof cradling her bulging stomach. It was so peaceful, so comforting having her pet this close. Her eyes started drifting closed. Her last thought before drifting to sleep, a sense of gladness at having let Delly convince her to do this.
Grace wasn’t sure how long she slept, the steady glow of the lighting in her lair never changed to give an indication of the passage of time. It took her a moment to figure out what had woken her up before she felt her prey shifting and twisting inside of her. She gently rubbed a hoof over her stomach, making calming, shushing noises. “Hold on Delly. I’ll get you out soon, just let Mistress get some things ready.”
The movement slowed, either she had heard Grace, or felt her moving and knew what was coming.
The lamia awkwardly slithered off the bed; the bulging weight at her midsection made it difficult to move with her usual gracefulness but she managed to make her way across the room and through the door into the den’s bathroom. Once inside she went right over to the large shower stall and turned on the water. She waited just long enough to be sure the temperature was adjusted just right, warm but not uncomfortably so, before getting to work.
The process of being released from her voreish confines was nowhere near as pleasant for Delly as getting there had been, but it went smoothly and quickly. She squirmed along the still tight passage as it squeezed and pushed her before a rush of too bright light hit her and made her have to close her eyes.
She felt her hooves contact something hard and slippery for a moment before they slipped and Delly felt herself falling briefly before her mistress caught her. The former prey blinked her eyes back open, squinting against the still bright lights and the water running over her. Mistress was dangling from some bars embedded in the ceiling, her hooves cradling Delly a few inches off the tiles.
Delly gave the lamia a reassuring smile as Grace put her back on the floor, still holding onto her as she lowered herself down and wrapped loosely around her pet. “Are you alright? Did everything go okay? Does anything hurt?” Grace nuzzled her during the questioning, even as her hooves started running over Delly’s body, both to help clean her off and to search for any potential injuries.
The mare leaned into her mistress. “I-I’m f-fine.” She closed her eyes, trying to relax as the great serpent-mare worried over her and the warm water streamed down all around. “I’m fine mistress.”
Delly opened her eyes and reared up, wrapping her forelegs around Grace’s neck. “I’m fine, and that was wonderful. Thank you for doing this for me.”
Grace froze in surprise at the hug before quickly returning it, her legs and tail wrapping around her precious Delly. “You are very welcome, my pet.” She unwrapped from the mare. “Now let’s get you cleaned up.” The lamia grabbed a bottle of shampoo off the shower’s shelf and set to work on her pet’s mane.
It took some time till her mistress was done cleaning her, and checking then double checking that she didn’t have any injuries, and in general fretting over her. But Delly loved every moment and didn’t mind letting her wonderful mistress reassure herself everything was fine. As Mistress finished drying them both off, Delly reared up and wrapped her beloved mistress in another tight hug. “Thank you for this, it really was wonderful.”
The lamia melted into her pet’s embrace, wrapping her legs and tail around her in a tight embrace. “You are very welcome, my little one.” She kissed and nuzzled the top of her pet’s head. “Now let’s get you home.”
“That would be-” She was cut off by a loud, rumbling gurgle from her own stomach that sent her into a fit of giggling. “I… hehe… I um… I guess…”
Grace silenced her pet with a gentle hoof to her lips. “Shhh, It’s alright. Let’s go hunt you down a nice tasty meal of your own.”
