No Heros
I'm scared.
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSecond Chance.
A filly, a growing mare, a pony who was supposedly born to do great things in the world by bringing peace and order when ponies and other creatures need it most.
At least that's what she was told.
Her parents were great ponies, but at the same time, the way they looked at her made her feel strangely out of place. Second couldn't understand why nor why it bothered her so much but regardless it's not like it mattered now.
They were dead.
Dead,
And it's her fault.
The memories of their faces and pained screams still echoed in her mind. The sight of their still-bloody corpses haunts her every time she goes to sleep.
The worse thing?
In their final moments, they look at her as if she could save them from their fate. As if she had more power than her little still-developing body was capable of.
She didn't,
And that is what truly scares her the most.
Having this so-called power and yet still being too weak to do anything except stand and watch as everyone dies around her.
She was supposed to be immortal,
At least that's what Grime Fire and the others tell her. She will remain young as everything else ages and dies around her in a constant cycle of death and recreation,
And she would never be a part of it.
At least that's what they tell her.
Second doesn't know herself and honestly, she doesn't want to know. Simply by existing she was already in a state of despair and confusion.
Why?
Why her? Why was she the lucky one and not her parents or the ones before her? Why couldn't they have borne this so-called gift?
There isn't an answer.
At least not one they could go over as well as it having possible instructions that she could follow.
No, that would be too easy, too simple.
Everything has to be a challenge, especially in her life.
Raiders.
Mother and Father told Second about them. How they were mad and dangerous ponies who could only ever see themselves and not the bigger picture. Beings who follow a supposedly dark path far from her own. Around that time Second couldn't possibly fathom such a group of creatures grouping with the sole purpose to harm, enslave, and sell.
Now she can.
Why? Because she saw it. She saw them harm ponies and other creatures right before her very eyes. She saw the cruelty and uncaring nature they displayed. She watched as they actively beat those who refuse to listen and or torture those they found not to be worth as nearly as much. The joy and thrill they get from committing these acts sicken her. It makes her want to vomit and curl into a ball every single time,
And yet she couldn't leave.
These people these so-called Savages even after killing her parents welcomed her with open hooves, talons, and other limbs. They began treating her with kindness and respect. Telling her how brave and amazing she is and how she would do so many great things for them in the future. How she had such a small body but so much potential.
They cared about her.
They wanted her to improve and become stronger,
And most of all they never looked down upon her with the same look her parents did. No, they just valued her as a little member of their group. A pony who could help change their business for the better.
She hated herself.
Why? Because even after seeing everything they have done and knowing the acts they will commit in the future she couldn't leave them.
No, she was stuck there and they didn't even have to chain on the spot.
"Are you crying again?"
Second, looked up from her hiding spot. Her face was wet from tears and they continued to do so even after Grime Fire a filly pegasus little older than herself looked down upon her. Her appearance is about three different shades of grey.
Second could only nod looking down at the floor. Shame fills her body upon once again being discovered bawling little eyes out.
"Isn't this like the 12th time this month?"
Second flinch as Grime slammed her hoof down in frustration. The older filly was getting very aggravated about this common occurrence. Seeing her friend or anyone close to her cry like this makes the anger that bubbles inside her even more intense.
Grunting she gestures for Second to crawl out from under the table. The younger filly does so after a moment or two of hesitation.
"You can't keep going this to yourself."
Patting her friend on the head Grime then gestured for Second to follow her out the door.
Walking into a place full of screams is something that Second never thought of as something she will have to get used to.
"I d-dont mean to cause trouble."
Grime rolled her eyes.
"Then don't force me to find you."
The younger filly looks down nodding.
after a while, the two entered a room filled with ponies as well as Griffin's and diamond dogs. Some were fucking few watched but most of them were lounging around minding their business
"Back so soon?"
Grime nods before sitting at a table and gesturing for her raid sister to do the same. The humanoid cat at the other end of the table smirks playing cards in hand.
"All or nothing?"
Grime raised a brow gesturing to the goods on the table.
"Would I want anything else?"
The cat laughed already knowing the answer to that question.
"I suppose not."
Second smiles faintly at her cat friend and tried to ignore the looks she was getting from people who wanted to be with her in a different way.
Thankfully most had her back and kept a close eye on her.
Grime and Mr. Cova included.
"you ready big head?"
Second smiles as Grime looks in a challenging manner as Mr. Cova handed her a set of cards.
"im ready."
They're maybe terrible people, but ones she can't separate herself from. Not when they care about her.
That might make her a bad pony and it's something she will be forced to live with.
Until those around her all die.
