No Heros

Into work.

Business.

Something that I find to be very beneficial when it comes to dealing with certain people in the wasteland. While it's true that we prefer to take rather than give that doesn't mean we should rob ourselves of a more interesting encounter. Plus the more caps you have the more respect you'll get which goes a long way in showing what you are capable of.

For me, it isn't about income or the possible opportunities that come with it but the power that you wield when you make more in a day than what one pony can't make in 10 years. It comes with a sense of danger to those who view you as a threat or something similar and it makes them a lot more hesitant to take you head-on in the future. At least not without considering the possibility of what they might lose in the process.

So no I don't see caps as a gift but as a tool that strikes fear and wariness to those around you.

It's all about showing the other time that you're in charge and there's almost nothing you can do about it.

Other raiders like us don't last long because they don't properly conduct themselves in a way that makes them look more cunning and dangerous rather than greedy and dangerous psychos. Those poor suckers end up wasting away faster than they can spread their enjoyment all across this bleak and dark world making the rest of us look weak and slow.

Humming to myself I sigh in contentment as Esper slowly and smoothly works on my shaft. There's nothing like a hoof job before and after doing good business.

I groan louder when she nibbles on my ear.

Unfortunately just when I was about to finish the pony that we were supposed to meet appeared in the distance.

I stop her hoof mid-stroke as I eyed the pony that was coming towards us.

He looked to be the business sort ironically considering my words before with a tie to complete the appearance of a pony who looked to have worked in an office for most of his life.

"hello there."

His voice was silky smooth and his appearance was somewhat attractive at least considering my standards. Then again I am a psychotic serial rapist so take that as you wish.

Esper on the other hoof eyed the horn on his head with a look of murderous desire in her eyes. Fortunately, all it took was a stern but amused look for her to back down.

At least for now.

'we got what you want now where is our payment?"

I gesture to the dozen chained-up colts and fillies as I spoke. Their eyes shine with fear, some from the unknown while most already have a good idea of what might be next.

In my defense, he didn't precisely say he wanted all of them clean.

At least not from what I was told.

Then again it's not like lying is off the table if such a problem were to occur.

The stallion for his part nods and gestures toward the sky with his hoof. As soon as he did this a group of a dozen armed pegasi appear landing on the ground.

From the look of their armor and weapons, I can tell that they meant business. Surely they were a private armed security group that might be worth thousands.

The smile on my face grew.

Oh, things are getting a lot more interesting already.

One of the guards approached carrying a massive sack on his shoulders. Upon stopping at a good distance he drops the sack on the ground. The sound it made while landing made an echo that rang around us. Up until this point, I didn't know such a thing was possible.

You truly learn something new every day.

I gesture for Grime Fire to step forward and grab the bag. She does this in a slow calm manner showing that she wasn't one least bit intimidated by the group of her fellow pegasi before her. Specialized or not.

Once the bag was in her hooves she looks inside during a few mental calculations based on the weight and the amount she can see inside. Once done she looks at me and Esper before nodding.

"It's been a pleasure," my sister says in a dry uncaring tone. Despite this, her eyes never once left the stallion's horn. At this point, I noticed her hoof twitched which probably meant she was trying to hold herself back.

"yes indeed, however even with this knowledge I can't help but suggest another way to do business."

I raised a brow.

"im listening."

We've done more stuff than dealing with slaves in the past. However, those were mainly kidnapping and hit pony jobs that we always committed to once the payment was agreed upon. Some even paid us to take out other groups of raiders.

Ah yes, the only rare times in my life where I felt something close to sympathy for others.

Good times.

The Unicorn, a dark golden-colored fellow with peach-colored eyes and a microphone for a cutie mark smiled. In his eyes, I saw nothing but greed and the lust for power.

Ah yes, these are the ponies im all too familiar with.

"You see I was hoping to receive aid from you and your companions regarding a little issue I have in the political field."

"you want a fucker dead?"

The stallion laughed shaking his head at Esper.

"Oh dear not at all, not at all you see all I need you and your little gang to do is simply cause chaos at the right moment."

I hum "How much?"

He smirks.

"How do 41,000 caps sound?"

The only sound you could have heard after was the sound of our jaws hitting the floor.
