Chapter 8 (Incomplete/Teaser)

Previous Chapter

3rd POV:
Celestia

As Celestia walked down the hallway towards the dining hall, she couldn't help but give a glance to her niece. She knew Cadance was mad at Fleur, it was obvious whenever the young and admittedly beautiful filly was brought up. Cadance would glower at the mere mention of her. Or if somepony was looking at her, her face would tighten and ears would flick, as would her tail, but otherwise show no outward emotion.

Celestia couldn't blame the blossoming princess for her anger though. While Celestia herself was quite displeased with the mare for not speaking up, she could also understand why she hadn't. If Fleur had spoken up, it would have inevitably been traced back to her. She would have become an outcast in all but name near immediately afterwards. And given her family, she could very well be taken out of the will, be disowned, she would lose absolutely everything. Not just her social life would be ruined, but her entire life. It was sad to say that if Celestia was in Fleur’s position, she wouldn't have said anything either as she understood that image is everything in Canterlot.

And if your image wasn't good at any point in time, you would be treated as the dirt beneath their hooves. She had seen such happen all too much in her long life. Fleur would have been the most recent one if she had acted at that point. Celestia, so deep in thought, didn't even realize she had arrived at the entrance to the dining hall until Cadance tapped her wither with a hoof. “Aunty, are you alright? You almost went right past the dining hall.” Celestia blinked, before sighing.

“Cadance, while you may not understand Fleur's actions, I would still like for you to reconcile with her.” Cadance’s eyes widened and she was about to shout a reply but was stalled by an upraised hoof. “I know this request may come as a shock, among other things, but believe me when I say that Fleur's reasons, whether she knew them all at the time or not, were sound. You yourself may understand them one day, but until then holding this grudge against her will only hurt your friendship with Thomas. Please, just try.” Cadance stared up at her aunt for a few seconds before sighing in anger, nodding.

“Okay, I'll try. But I won't be happy about it. And I'll be keeping an eye on her whenever she is close to Thomas.” Cadance grumbled in agreement. Celestia knew this was the best she was going to get, so left it at that. Her horn flaring with magic, she opened the dining hall doors.

1st POV:
Thomas
Time:
A little over a year ago

I knew this was necessary, but that didn't mean I had to like it. A few pony doctors and pony nurses went about around me, measuring me, weighing me, checking my temperature. Usual doctor visit stuff, which I didn't like. And by that I mean I don't like doctor visits. They simply told me I was okay, and that's it. Like I wouldn't know if something was off. But in this case I suppose it made sense. If I ever got hurt or got sick, then they would know what accounts for normal with my body. It's not like they could access the records of the doctors from back home.

So lost in thought was I, I didn't even notice Golden walk up to me until she tapped on my knee. Blinking, I look down at her. “Thomas, they're all done. You can step down now.” I nodded, stepping down from the raised platform I had been standing on.

“Finally. I hate the doctors.” Golden chuckled, rolling her eyes.

“Yes, as you've told me a hundred times before.” Golden verbally jabbed.

“And I'll say it another hundred if I want to.” I said a bit sourly. Golden shook her head.

“Oh come on, it wasn't that bad.” I huffed, hip checking her.

“‘Wasn't that bad’ my ass, you weren't the one up there being checked out. And why is it always that their shite is so damn cold! I mean, sure, you ponies have fur so you at least have some kind of protection, but I just have bare skin!” Golden giggles as she hip checks me back.

“Oh yes, being a little cold is so terrible.” Golden giggles again, making me huff in annoyance.

Time:
Present

I was shaken from my memories as the doors opened, revealing Celestia there as she made her way towards me. “How was your dinner Thomas?” Celestia asks as she crosses the room.

“It would have been better if you ponies weren't such vegans.” I gesture to my food tray which had grass clippings and flowers on it. Celestia frowns as she sits beside my bed.

“Right. Perhaps from now on I should have the griffon chefs come down here to take your orders. They will at least not consider putting these on your food when you are vague about what you want.” Celestia takes the tray in her magic, teleporting it away. I huff, rolling my eyes.

“You know, for having a pony specifically assigned to watch over me, you don't really know that much about me. What, did you not read her reports or some shit?” This time Celestia huffs.

“Well excuse me for having an entire nation to watch over.” Immediately after she says it, her ears flatten as she looks at me. “Thomas, I-” I cut her off by raising a hand.

I sigh, moving my hand to rub the back of my head. “No, no, you're right. Sorry, I'm just… this whole thing has gotten me out of sorts. I mean, I knew you ponies hated me just for being here. But I never thought…” I make a vague gesture at nothing in particular, “you know? Plus, like you said, you have an entire nation to govern. Don't even know why you're spending the time to deal with…” another vague gesture but this time at myself, “all this. Would have thought this would have been dealt with by the normal courts or what not.”

Celestia gives me a soft smile as she tilts her head a bit. “Thomas, I may not know how this sort of thing would be dealt with in your world. But here, your case is the biggest one in the past several centuries.” Celestia sighs, hanging her head some. “Equestria is, overall, a peaceful nation. But we still do have our fair share of crime.” She looks back at me with complete seriousness.

“To say what happened to you has disturbed the common pony is an understatement.” I blink in surprise, before squinting.

“Wait, you don't mean-”

“Your… harrowing morning has spread like a wildfire across Equestria.” Celestia lets out an exhausted sigh, closing her eyes as she rubs them with a hoof, almost mimicking how I'd pinch the bridge of my nose. “And then some. Some of our neighbors have been sending ambassadors, asking about your condition and what is being done to the responsible parties. Among other things.”

It takes a second for me to register all of that. “You mean… ah hell… fucking shit. That's fucking bad, right? Like, Equestria can be majorly fucked up, bad, right?” Celestia nods. I take a deep breath, before letting it out explosively. “Fuck. My. Life… What exactly did they put in whatever y'all have?”

Celestia used her magic to teleport a newspaper into my lap. Taking a look at the front page, I see a monochrome picture of a blurred alleyway. But the only blurred parts are parts that are darker than the rest of the alley. There is also a second pic of me looking like a mummy while in a hospital bed, but that one is smaller and in the corner. “Front page? You weren't exaggerating, hot damn.” I took a second to read the article.

Yesterday, August 19th, 982 A:NM, tragedy struck in the middle district of Canterlot as a student of the local high school was found by the up and coming princess of love, Mi Amore Cadenza. The student in question is the resident alien to our world, who goes by Thomas Jackson…

I stop reading the article as I think about one line in the passage. “Cadenza. There's no way.” I turn to Celestia. “There's no way it's talking about… her, right? I mean, Cadence told me she found me. And if… I just… FUCK!” I suddenly yell, throwing the newspaper across the room where it spread out and fluttered to the floor. I held my head as there was just too much going through my head now.

“Why the fuck can't anything be fucking simple! Why the hell was I fucking brought here?!” Before Celestia can say anything I point at her. “Shut up you white bitch! You shut up and fucking listen, cause I am done! You can send those bastards that beat me to prison for all I care! You can tell Cadence to fuck off for fucking lying to me! And you can stick your holier than thou bullshit up your fat ass!”

Spent, I lay back on the bed, my hands coming up to cover my eyes as they began to shed tears. “I'm just… so fucking done, Celestia. I… I don't belong here. I fucking don't.” Celestia is quiet, and I can't see her reaction due to my hands covering my eyes, not that I could have seen her through my tears. I hear her move, and feel the bed shift, before a warm embrace covers my torso as a pair of white forelegs wrap around my neck. A large white wing moving to cover my torso. I hug her back, my body reaching out for any kind of comfort at that moment.

We stay like that for several minutes, simply hugging each other. After I regain my composure a bit, I speak up. “I'm sorry Celestia. I'm just… there's just too much.”

“I know, Thomas. I understand. And I am so sorry all of this is happening to you. You are the last person that should be caught up in the middle of all this, and yet you are. I wish I could give you the simple life you once had, but I can't.” Celestia backs up a bit to look me in the eyes now. “But I swear that I will do all in my power to give you the life you deserve.”
