Prologue: Whispers of a Dead God

In the beginning, there was an endless ocean enveloped by eternal night. Then, [NAME LOST], the Creator was born. She wrote the world "Land", and there was land. In the endless night, she give birth to three daughters: Celestia, Goddess of the Sun; Luna, Goddess of the Moon; and NAME LOST, the Talentless One.

With them, borns the day and night cycle. Yet, NAME LOST, having no purpose and grown ever so jealous of her sisters, appealed to her mother. The Creator [NAME LOST], fasciated with the power and magnificence of Celestia and Luna, paid no attention the insignificant NAME LOST. Burning with envy and rage, NAME LOST stole her mother's sacred pen and created the first insect and called it a fly.

Enraged by NAME LOST's betray, the Creator [NAME LOST] cursed the creature to forever feast on the Unclean and to be hated by all. "With Celestia, you give the Sun, and Luna the Moon," NAME LOST said: "Yet, me you give nothing. My creature you have cursed, and thus I shall curse you." Just like that, the Creator's name was lost, with it her power. "Foolish daughter," the Creator replied: "With the creature, you have given birth to life and the endless suffering that comes with it. Without my power, I cannot strip you of yours. But your name name will be forgotten, and you shall only be known as the Lord of Flies." And then the Creator abandoned her creation.

"O, sisters of mine," the Lord of Flies says: "Our mother has abandoned us. Let us bind together and perfect her creation." Yet, Celestia and Luna paid no attention to her. Enraged, the Lord of Flies cursed them both: "O, hypocritical sisters, you shall turn on each other and your descends will be plagued by endless cataclysms. For I am the Lord of Flies and my descends shall be many." And then, NAME LOST, now the Lord of Flies disappeared. As flies populated the land, they spawn all forms of life.

Disgusted by the creations of their sisters, Celestia says to Luna: Let us cleanse the earth with flame so our mother's creation may stay pure." Together, they descended on the land and turned all to ash. From the ash, arises two creatures. Luna says to Celestia: "They are the spawns of fly; let destroy it and purify the land." "Fly spawn they maybe, they are our creation", Celestia says to Luna: "Let us name them human and let them rule over all creation."
Thus, humans ruled over the land and worshipped Celestia.

And then the people pleaded with the Lord of Flies to save them. The Lord of Flies says: "Descends of Celestia and Luna, I have sworn to make you suffer, but your eradication is not my wish. I shall save your lives and battle the serpent." Then the people said: "O Noble Lord of Flies, mother of all life, we will erect a statute in your honor." The Lord of Flies replied: "O slaves of my sisters, your devotion is better replied elsewhere. If you erect a statute in my likeness, I shall then bury you under swarm of flies. By then, not even the light of sun can save you."

The Lord of Flies then reached the ocean. The serpent said to her: "Lord of Flies, what business have you here? I only seeks to carry out the mission of my masters." "Serpent, my child," The Lord of Flies says: "I am your mother and creator, you shall heed my words and leaves the humans be. Hear my words, not that of NAME UNCLEAR." The serpent refused to listen and they battled. The battle lasted six days and six night. In the end, the serpent was slain and the Lord of Flies was nowhere to be seen. Then the flies of the lands were transformed. Instead of feasting on the unclean, they are allowed to feast on flowers. The people welcomed the new insects and named them bees. With the honey they brought, the bees are revered across the lands.

Wait, that's it? Sunset writes on her journal: It feels...incomplete.

Unfortunately that is all we have, Twilight writes in reply: Nopony has ever heard of something like this, and thank you for translating it to Ponyish! It would have taken us months if not years without your help!

Anytime! Sunset frowns as her pen dances on paper: Although, I found it strange that the whole thing is written in human language. Where did you dug it up anyway?

Princess Celestia find it laying somewhere in the Canterlot Library, Twilight replies: From what we know, the story teller puts a lot of emphasis on the concept of "name". It appears that without a name, an individual would either lose their "powers" or just disappear. Have you ever heard of something like this?

Actually no, Sunset writes: I also noticed that Luna's name was crossed off. Any idea why?

No, but given the importance of names, Twilight writes: It's likely intentional. As for the reason...I am not sure. I actually asked Princess Celestia about that and she has no idea either! I also asked her if they have a third sister, and the answer is no.

The Lord of Flies, huh? Sunset writes: My mom used to tell us stories about her. Though no one outside of our town ever heard of that name. Who could have known!

WAIT, WHAT?

Sunset chuckled: Clam down, Twi. She learned the story from her dad, not some ancient book or tablet. Gotta tell you, never heard the bit about flies turning in bees.

Well, that's a lot to take in...Ok, you will be visiting tomorrow, right? Be sure to introduce me to your family.

Of course, Twi. Goodnight!

Sunset then closes the journal and collapsed onto the soft embrace of her mattress. The Lord of Flies...Sunset closes her eyes as her mind wonders: Yes, I have heard of such name. Mother used to tell us stories of the Lord of Flies eating naughty filly. I thought that was just a story she made up...apparently not! The Lord of Flies, oh the Lord of Flies...zzz...
