Equestria: World War II (1939-1941)

It was now 10:00am at Canterlot Castle, which meant it was almost 11:30am in London. The Princesses were getting ready to watch the swearing-in of the new British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, live on television. Neville Chamberlain had stepped down the previous day, after the end of the Norway Debate, and his health had taken a toll for the worse. In fact, in his final conversation with them before stepping down, he had sounded much more ill than he had been before, thanks to the fact that he had bowel cancer.

The stage had been set in London, and all that was being awaited was the arrival of Winston Churchill, after which the swearing-in would begin. They turned on the television, and waited for the broadcast to begin. Soon, the broadcast began. "Dear viewers, ladies and gentlemen, humans and ponies, wherever you may be watching from, we are just minutes away from the swearing-in of Winston Churchill as the new Prime Minister of Great Britain. He shall be here soon, and the proceedings shall soon begin." As he finished speaking these words, the camera shifted to show a large convoy of cars pulling in. Churchill had arrived.

The cars arrived, stopped outside the large stage set up at the Palace of Westminster, where the British Parliament was headquartered. Then, Winston Churchill stepped out of one of the cars. He was a rather large and plump man, wearing a black and white three-piece suit, and he walked towards the stage. He was almost as old as Chamberlain, at the age of almost 66, but he still seemed quite healthy for his age.

Churchill took the stage, and the proceedings began, and he was sworn in. The whole ceremony took about an hour and a half. Then, to finish it off, Churchill began his first speech, as the 62nd Prime Minister of Great Britain. "On Wednesday last evening, I received an order, to become the new Prime Minister. I must say that I am honored and humbled by this new responsibility," Churchill began.

"I know that I have big shoes to fill, following the departure of Neville Chamberlain, a man who was my friend and colleague. But I also know that the times we are living in are perilous, and we must act with courage and determination to face the challenges that lie ahead." The Princesses watched intently, fascinated by the solemn tone of Churchill's voice. They had heard of him before, of course - who hadn't? He was a famous writer, orator, and statesman. But they had never seen him in action before.

"I have been asked to lead this great nation through a time of war and uncertainty," Churchill continued. "A war that has already begun to take its toll on our people, on our economy, and on our very way of life. But I am not one to shy away from a challenge. I am a man who has always believed in the power of the human spirit, and I believe that together, we can overcome any obstacle that comes our way."

The Princesses nodded in agreement, their ears perked up with interest. They knew that the war would be long, and Churchill was definitely a leader who would be a great ally in the war.

"But make no mistake, my friends," Churchill warned. "The road ahead will be long and difficult. We will face many challenges, many setbacks, and many losses. But I promise you this: we will face them together, as one nation, as one people. We will stand strong against the forces of tyranny and oppression, and we will emerge victorious in the end."

As Churchill finished his speech, the Princesses applauded loudly, joined by the ponies watching in the castle's great hall. It was a momentous occasion, and they knew that they were witnessing something special. And so, with Winston Churchill at the helm, the fate of Great Britain was now in his hands. Soon, the next part of the war would begin.

It was now 1:30pm in Britain, which meant it was almost 2:30pm in Germany. At the secret Erweiterung facility, Discord had just watched Winston Churchill's swearing-in as the new British Prime Minister live on the television. This was the perfect time for the Reich to make their next strike, along with their allies. Britain was too busy getting its new government sorted out to interfere with their plans. This would be the perfect time to attack one of the Allied countries, while Britain was not ready to retaliate.

The German Army wouldn't do this one alone, though. The Italians, lead by the great Benito Mussolini, would also help them out. Mussolini, the Prime Minister of Italy, unlike Hitler, had taken the reign of the Italian government by force, and had used it to create his fascist regime, which Discord admired, and use once he had established his new world order.

But for now, those plans would have to wait, as it was going to be sometime before he could put those plans into action. For that, he needed not just a small part of the German military, but a part of its government as well. For that, he had to get involved with a sect of the Nazis, which wanted to eventually overthrow Hitler, and make an evolved version of the Nazi government. That would be fun, thought Discord, as he thought about he would convince them that he was one of them.

The Erweiterung facility was working overtime now, with Panzer IIIEs, IVEs, and Bf109Es rolling off their production lines almost every hour, and they would soon have to expand this facility. The U-boat facility in Hamburg was also almost operational, and soon, it would begin producing enhanced U-boats for the German Navy. These U-boats would be truly silent killers. No one would be able to hear them underwater, so they could easily sneak up on their enemies, and blow them to kingdom come.

For that, he was planning to use some of the Thaumic energy he had stored in the Thaumic energy generator in the facility. Around 50 percent of it would be used to create the super soldiers, and the remaining would be used for other secret projects. Soon, the world would reel under the might of the Axis.
