Soon enough, the boys would make their way back to their dorms. That’s when one of the professors made their rounds to ensure everyone was in place for the evening as it got dark outside. The curfew was in effect to make sure everyone was accounted for as they all went back to their rooms for the night.

“Stay inside, now!” One of the professors, an older gentleman wearing a monocle, called out as he passed through the male dorms, “You’ve no telling what creatures of the night are lurking around this time.”

Inside his room, Keiji rolled his eyes. “Ugh. Do they really need to do this?”

Rumble, his roommate, was busy playing a video game on the TV nearby. “I guess it’s how they’ll keep track of everyone just in case something goes wrong. The last thing they want is to piss off the wrong rich kid’s parents and get sued into oblivion.”

“Yeah, yeah, I get that,” Keiji yawned and flopped on his bed. There, he began to tune the radio that sat on the nightstand nearby. Eventually though, he’d unintentionally pick up a frequency from a police officer’s radio…

“...suspect spotted. Class A threat is currently holed up in the jewelry store. Has a young woman hostage.”

Keiji’s eyes shot wide open. On instinct, he immediately opened the window to the dorm and looked outside where the school’s courtyard could be seen. “Yeah I can make that jump.”

“Aw shit, you’re doing this, huh?” Rumble paused his game and left music playing via a speaker. “Welp, if we’re back before the sun rises, we should be fine I think. You think it might be…?”

“Not sure,” Keiji replied as he climbed out of the window, “But I’m not taking any chances. I’ll be damned if I sit on my ass while that happens. You with me, or what?”

Rumble stretched both of his legs behind his head like a track athlete who was preparing to run. “Like I said, I’m with you on this. Besides, it’ll give me a chance to stretch my legs since it’s not that far.”

“Alright, let’s go.”

The two boys jumped out of the window. Keiji flew off on his vampire wings into the night while Rumble bounced off the nearest tree branch, landed, then ran after him down the sidewalk. Thankfully, they narrowly avoided the cameras as they left, however, a certain someone was still following them…

“...wonder what you lot are doing out this late when ye aren’t supposed to be?”

About two blocks away, near the inner city…

It didn’t take long for the boys to find the scene of the crime. A jewelry store where several cop cars were located on the scene. Several officers had their guns drawn and pointed at the front of the store where the display windows had been shattered, leaving broken glass all over the place as they focused hard on a creature that stood in the middle of the store.

“Hands in the air! This is your final warning!” a female officer shouted.

Inside the store, a young woman with tan skin who wore a set of black, medieval armor had taken a young woman hostage. But there was something about her that gave off the aura that she wasn’t a mere cosplayer…

“Fools! I have to get back to Equestria…I’ll show them for daring to cast me out!” she screamed as she cast a ball of white energy so powerful that it blew up the entire perimeter of cop cars and sent the officers flying! “You’re useless to me…” she muttered before tossing the girl out to them who cried out in pain.

“AGH!”

Rumble raced over and caught the young woman before she could hit the wall outside. “I gotcha!”

“...who…who are?”

“Well here we go,” Keiji yawned as he walked onto the scene with his hands in his pockets, “As soon as I heard something about Equestria, I knew this would go bad.” Upon getting a look at the woman, he could tell by her armor that she was likely a Royal Guardspony. Or a former one in this case. “Damn…she won’t be easy to deal with.”

“...it’s not Silver Spoon, bud,” Rumble spoke up in reference to the girl who he had saved, “What’s the plan?”

While that put him at ease, Keiji was still prepared to fight.

“Get her outta here while I deal with this trash. The cops could use some help.”

They both glanced at the numerous flipped cars and incapacitated officers strewn about the streets from the explosion they had just witnessed.

“You!” the armored woman called out to them as she stepped out of the store, “Aren’t you an Equestrian too? Come on and help me!”

“Damn, she can tell, huh?” Keiji scratched behind his ear, “...listen, lady. Equestrian or not, your ass is still a criminal. Not gonna let that slide.” And with that, he summoned his katana by reaching into a reddish-black void. A sword with a blade made of a pulsating red metal with a leather hilt encrusted with gold.

The armored lady stuttered, “What--what are you--don’t you know who I am--?!”

WOOSH!

With a flash, he had dashed towards her and slashed at her armor with his katana, but she had blocked it with a shield made of light. “Nah. And I don’t really care either,” Keiji replied bluntly as he flipped off of her and landed just a few feet away. “All I can see here is that you’re hurting people and causing shit. Not to mention fucking with my sleep schedule…”

“Fine then…I’ll just put you down as well, traitor!”
