Mommy Mare Madness

Cream Heart yawned as she trotted into her bed room to retire for the night, she'd occupied the day by doing all the usual things, cooking, cleaning and spending what little time she could with her son when he wasn't distracted by his video games. She jumped into bed and retrieved the latest book she had been reading, flipping open the pages and removing the book mark so that she could carry on from the last paragraph she had read.

The book in question seemed like an interesting story, a typical murder mystery that took place in the modern day but still had a very "who-dun-it" feel. What Cream Heart wasn't expecting was the romantic sub plot within the main plot, which reminded her why she had stopped reading it in the first place, it was too painful.

Cream Heart had lost her husband years ago shortly after Button was born and she had never quite gotten over it, it didn't plague her mind every single waking moment but even the smallest things could send her into fits of sobbing if she were in the right mood, just the sight of Button could trigger it due to how much like his father he looked. Cream put the book down, feeling like she was too tired to pay attention to what she was reading anyway, her eyes felt heavy and she got under the covers while she tried not to think about how desperately she wanted to feel the embrace of another stallion in a way that didn't necessitate a commitment but also didn't make her feel like she was just being a whore.

Cream Heart drifted off to sleep, her buried sorrow still gnawing away at her sanity.
