The Frontier Corps of Their Majesties' Royal Cavalry are charged with patrolling the fringes of Equestria's borders, routing bandits and keeping monsters and other threats to ponykind from getting too bold. The ponies of Bronco Company, 2nd Light Hoof, have long excelled at this task. So it came as little surprise to their commander, Captain Vought Corsair, when she and her ponies were tapped for a goodwill mission to the Saddle Arabian border town of Gallopoli.

But when an unknown force descends on the town in the middle of the night and slaughters its inhabitants, the survivors of Bronco Company are left bearing the blame. Branded as rogues, now they're being hunted by both by Saddle Arabian soldiers bent on revenge, and their own military seeking to put them on trial for their 'crimes'.

Can Captain Corsair and the ponies of Bronco Company uncover the truth and clear their names? Or will Equestria be dragged into a war by forces acting behind the scenes?
