Callum awoke groggily, the sound of birds chirping somewhere nearby but unseen. His nose picked up on the smell of heavy sweat as well as a lingering odor of more. Callum rested his head in his hands for a moment.

“So, it wasn’t a dream?” He spoke quietly to himself.

With a groan, uncertain of how things were going to go from this moment on, Callum slid his legs until they dangled at the side of the bed. He stood up slowly, finding his clothes on the ground from the night before and dressing himself before removing the sheets and blankets.

There came a knock at the door as the voice of Spike called out, “Hey, Callum? If you’re awake, we have breakfast almost prepared.”

“Oh hey, yeah, I will be ready here shortly.” Callum called after, before shrugging and dumping the sheets and blankets on the floor next to the door as he made his way out.

Spike was leaning against a crystal wall across the hall from Callum, his hands behind his head as he seemed interested in the ceiling.

“Hey dude, follow me.” Spike turned and began walking down the hall to the right.

They came to an open area, where the first floor connected to the second with a vast open area, much like an atrium with pillars strangely well-spaced around with well-defined banisters. The walkway circled around the entire upper floor area, halls heading off in multiple directions.

Callum didn’t remember the details as he had been tired the night before from Pinky’s welcome party, though he was still feeling tired as he followed almost absently behind Spike. He noticed how everything looked like it was made of crystal roughly shaped into familiar scenery.

Spike turned away to start heading down a set of stairs tucked away next to a hall across from the one they had emerged from.

Callum placed a hand on the stair banister and realized the crystal seemed to vibrate a little bit of warmth as if it were alive. For a moment, Callum wondered if he would still feel the same effects were he to remove his socks and shoes and walk around barefoot.

As they made their way onto the first floor and continued their path to the right, Callum began to pick up the scent of food being cooked.

“Oh, is that pancakes?” Callum asked as his mouth began to water from the smell alone. He had not realized how hungry he was until his stomach growled.

“Heh, yeah. A few of our friends came by to help you with things and decided breakfast was first and foremost the most important thing.”

Spike stopped and opened a door where the smell was heaviest and within was a large kitchen with a dining room connected to the left side with large windows that were already opened.

Pinky Pie was busy running around the kitchen seeming to be cooking pancakes, and actual cake and some cupcakes in two ovens.

“Mornerino Callum.” She said shaking his hand before he could even blink.

“Uh, good morning,” Callum said as he realized she had already left him moving his hand by itself in the air.

He watched as Pinky zipped around now moving from the ovens and flipping a pancake onto a small stack, loading it with tons of syrup and then quickly lifting a bowl and easily began to whisk it with such vitality, Callum was shocked she wasn’t even sweating yet.

Callum noticed Spike had already made his way to the dining room, where another girl with long flowing pink hair stood with a bright smile on her pale face as she seemed to talk to a bird that had landed on her finger.

He couldn’t hear from where he was, but it looked as if she were holding a full conversation with the bird, laughing as it tweeted. As Spike waved a few feet away and slowly approached, the girl turned and leaned out of the window and the bird took off.

Callum was trying to rack his brain to remember her name as he had met her at the party the night before. The way she stood talking to Spike as though she were trying to hide behind her hair as she absently played with it.

‘Right, shy something, or maybe her friends introduced her as the shy one of the group?’

“Hey Callum, I don’t know if you remember Fluttershy from last night.” Spike said as Callum approached.

‘Good on you little dude, thanks for saving me.’

“Yeah, it’s a pleasure to see you again. Hey, uh Spike, where’s Twilight?”

“Huh, oh she is either still asleep or still in her lab.”

“Oh, um… Applejack, went to see her.” Fluttershy stuttered out.

“Well, then the two of them should be here any time now. I’ll go see if Pinky Pie.”

“Yes?” Pinky asked as she placed several plates of pancakes onto the table, seeming to have almost thrown them across the table stopping them in front of each person and where they would be sitting.

“Already done? Oh, sorry Pinkie, I was going to ask if you needed help finishing up with breakfast.”

“Heh, thanks but I got you.” She said as she booped Spike on the nose. “Also, hey, aren’t you tired of your human form?”

“Human form?” Callum asked as he stopped himself from sitting, his body held in an uncomfortable position.

“I didn’t want to freak out our newest addition just yet, but yeah it is getting to be a bit much. I’m starting to feel cramps.”

“Um, so something that is unique here in Equestria is there are Dragons, we can pass with looks similar to Equestrians, which as you have seen also have a similar appearance to humans.”

“So, you’re saying you’re a dragon, like full on scales, wings, and breathing fire?”

Spike shrugged a hand scratching at his head, now seeming embarrassed as he began to blush. “Well, a young dragon but yeah.” He said as his body seemed to swell outward, his body reaching a bit over six feet tall, his hands protruding black nails, his hands becoming like claws, and actual wings spread out from his back.

“Ah,” he said as he stretched his wings. “Cramps right between the wings is a real pain.”

Spike shrugged and showed an apprehensive look on his face as he looked at Callum.

“Dude! That’s so freaking awesome, I’ve always wanted to see a dragon.” Callum had stood back up to his full height, not even caring that Spike now stood well above him, his excitement to see something he had previously only thought of in fantasy stories and games overtook him.

“Alrighty, enough talk, let’s chow down.” Pinkie said as she lifted her knife and fork, her tongue hanging out as if she were about to swallow the whole plate of pancakes itself.

“What about Twilight? Shouldn’t we wait for her?” Fluttershy asked as she sat down next to Spike.

Pinkie seemed to collapse in on herself as she nodded in agreement.

“Hey everyone, um Twilight won’t be joining us at the moment, she is busy with a project.” Said a new voice with a southern drawl.

Without a doubt in Callums mind, the woman who entered seemed to scream Southern Girl. She had a healthy tan, wide shoulders dressed in a red and black flannel shirt that had been altered to suit her. She was undoubtedly well endowed, her breasts carefully held in check. The shirt also seemed to hide little from his mind as he realized the bottom of her flannel was tied under her breasts, showing a well-toned stomach. Beneath that she wore cut jeans, as if she were walking around in daisy dukes. Her legs seemed well toned as was natural with the rest of her body.

“Can I steal Callum for a minute or two?”

“Uh,” Callum put his fork of pancakes back down as he stood and left with Applejack.

Once they were outside in the hallway, Applejack turned on Callum quickly. “Did something happen between you and Twilight last night? She wouldn’t say but I have a sneaking suspicion yall did somethin’ and it just aint sittin right with me with how she’s acting.”

“What?” Was all Callum could say as he felt assaulted by this woman, he had only briefly met the night before.

“Look, I aint seen Twi, so shook up like this. She won’t tell me what’s going on, but I’m betting my last bit it’s something to do with you. Now spill it, what happened?”

“What the hell? I didn’t do anything to her if anything she came to me.” Callum shut his mouth with a snap. He let out a sigh as he crossed his arms and glowered at the floor.

“So, something did happen between the two of you.”

“It shouldn’t be anyone’s business what two grown adults do in private.”

Applejack was about to say something else when she stopped her eyes going wide, “you mean you two. Oh no, that is not something Twi would just. But how, and with you?”

“Oh yeah thanks for making it sound like I’m an asshole. I didn’t force her into anything if you think that’s what happened.”

Applejack was quiet, a stern look on her face, her green eyes glowering under her blonde hair. Callum faced her, not daring to look away.

“Well, it don’t look like you’re lying, but this doesn’t sound like Twilight.”

Callum was quiet for a few seconds before muttering, “She said it was something to do with her experiment.”

Callum moved past Applejack, not listening to her arguments. “Where is she?”

“Now hold on partner, Twilight is already having a rough day. You don’t need to go barging in where she is and starting something.”

“Fine I’ll turn this place upside down to find her if I must. Look something obviously is wrong with her or she did something, and it led to things, but I’m not going to sit here quietly and let strangers start calling me out on something I didn’t do.”

Twilight had left Callums room, feeling a mix of feelings, one of which was a sense of violation. She had gone to her room and showered, cleaned herself up to the best of her ability. She laid on her bed running things through her mind trying to figure out what had happened.

It felt as though she had been a passenger inside of her own body. She remembered she had decided to test the potion herself and then had gone to bed after nothing had happened. It wasn’t until she began to fall into a deep sleep, REM sleep that she seemed to suddenly lose control of herself.

Without being able to sleep she had returned to her lab and begun to take notes. It had taken a little bit of time, but she had finally remembered enough to begin making sense of actions and reactions.

It was as if she had become a completely different person, someone who gave in to desires, and passion. Was there a way to recreate that effect? It was bound to be proof of her thoughts of whether Love was real or just chemicals and even pheromones at play.

First, she wanted to see if she could get a physical reaction without the potion, what were the residual effects.

Twilight ignored the exhaustion she felt, realizing it was closing in to dawn and the sun would be rising soon.

She closed her eyes and tried to think back to a few hours before.

Nothing. Nothing came to mind. With a sigh, Twilight sat down on a chair at her table and lifted a fan and began to fan herself.

Why did it suddenly feel so hot and why did she have this weird feeling of wanting something. She couldn’t tell but there was a kind of heat that seemed trapped inside of her.

Closing her eyes, she tried once more to remember what had happened the night before. This time her mind seemed more willing to bring up a sensation.

With a gasp, Twilight sat up straight, her hand going to her chest as if trying to physically settle her heartbeat. There was a shiver down her spine as she felt the fading of a touch of her breast and she began to feel the heat rising within her.

“Well, process isn’t for the meek.”

More determined she sat back, putting the fan down as a thought came to her that the heat might be a side effect of the potion.

She closed her eyes and once more drew up the sight of Callum moving in the dark, his hands moving over the curves of her body, then leaning his head forward and sucking on her breasts. There was more heat in her body as she bit her lower lip. One hand pressed against her breasts while her free hand moved following the heat in her body down between her legs where she felt a shiver through her whole body as she touched herself.

There came a sudden knock on the door, and Twilight jumped, her heart racing, her face flushed. She bent over the potions of her experiment, the liquid sloshing about in the various beakers.

“Yes?” She called out, noticing a tremor in her voice.

Twilight met with her friends very briefly and spoke to them and agreed it would be fine to fix some food and help Callum out. Though she was going to decline as she was in the midst of her experiments and couldn’t get away at the moment.

As the others left, Applejack hung back and tried to talk to Twilight. She almost let it slip what had happened but kept herself in check, speaking more of an issue she was finding with her experiment.

So, it came as a surprise when there came a knock at the door right before a pair of voices erupted in argument and the door burst open.

“What’s going on?” Twilight asked startled.

“Hey, it aint the marks of a gentleman to barge in on a woman.” Applejack said in a huff grabbing at Callum.

Callum moved his shoulder so that Applejack only grabbed at air.

“What’s going on is I’m getting screwed over my first night here. You came into my room saying you wanted me, and now it feels like you’re trying to say that I raped you.”

“What?” Twilight bumped into her table as she attempted to back up and stopped to keep from spilling everything over.

“Whoa there pardner, you’re jumping the gun and saying some unkind things, and about a friend of mine.”

“How could I have been so stupid.”

“I didn’t say anything like that,” Twilight argued. “I honestly don’t understand what you’re upset about.”

“Applejack here says that the two of us would never have been and that I must have been the one to have forced you into things last night.”

“Whoa there, don’t go putting words into ma mouth.”

“But you did allude to the fact that Twilight would never do something like that nor with someone like me.”

“Uh, well I mean…”

“Stop, please. I don’t want anyone arguing over this, nor casting blame. I am at fault here, I did something I should not have, and things are now getting out of hand.”

Callum breathed out and placed his hands on his hips. “Alright, maybe I am jumping to conclusions here, and I am sorry but where I come from this situation would have me in jail and no one listening or trying to help me. What I should have done was just said no.”

“Darn right, I think the only sensible thing would have been a no on everyone's end.” Applejack countered.

“You know, you kind of stirred up this hornet’s nest in the first place.” Callum pointed out.

“Well, I was worried about a friend of mine and wanted to help her.”

“Yeah look, I owe you an apology Twilight. I am sorry for what I did, I shouldn’t have talked myself into something like that. I should have also known something was off.”

“You are new here, as well as new to magic, so it is understandable to some degree you wouldn’t know if something was natural or if it was caused by something else.”

Twilight looked down to the floor trying to think of something else when suddenly a gurgle erupted from her stomach.

“You haven’t eaten anything. Look Pinkie made some pancakes. If she hasn’t eaten them all you should go, get some. Also, if its okay with everyone I think I want to try and forget this happened at all.”

Callum let out a breath trying to calm his mind and body as both were a buzz with fear and worry.

“Yeah, I do need some food, I’ll catch up with you two in a minute I just need to run to the bathroom.”

Twilight turned and made her way into the nearest bathroom and closed and locked the door. She felt some doubt over how things seemed to escalate so quickly.

Twilight glanced at herself in the mirror before turning on the faucet and splashing her face with some cold water trying to clear her mind.

‘Oh Twily, getting down and dirty with a human. The Scandal.’

Twilight glanced up at her reflection which seemed to show brazen confidence and a toothy smile. She blinked a few times and was immediately met with her normal reflection.

“I have got to stop these late-night experiments.” Twilight turned off the light and met up with her friends for breakfast.

Author's Note

I was trying to capture the feel of something by another author but I feel I have failed miserably. I need to step back and let this story work itself out some more.
