Intro: Remembrance

Every day after work, spanner trotted through the gardens and inhaled to sweet smell of the flowers that reminded him that the wasteland was gone. Even though he was only a colt when it ended, he still had nightmares of his house being raided. Every Time he walked past the statue of the great liberator, Dead-eye Derpington he would see an old Pegasus mare sitting on the bench, looking at the statue. he had always wondered why she was never seen in town and why she always sat opposite the statue, but above all, why no pony seemed to know who she was. One day, he decided to find out, once and for all.

He felt nervous as he trotted up to the bench where the blue Pegasus sat.

“Um… Hello...” he said in a surprisingly confident voice

“hmm? Oh, hello there” she said, smiling. “What would you like, dearie?”

“I was just wondering... I come by here every day, and you're always sitting here” he replied, now stumbling over his words. “Who, exactly, are you?”

“Well, sir, that sure is biggen of a question” she laughed, “are you sure you want to hear the whole thing?”

“I… I think so” he stuttered, “ I've been curious about it for a while now”

“well then, take a seat, ‘cause this is gonna take a loooong while...”
