The Origins of Heragloom
Part 1: how it all came to be
Load Full StoryNext ChapterThere once was a demonic creature, bent on total domination of pony-kind. His name was Herophales, the god that every pony was afraid of, even the most mightiest unicorns like Starswirl were nothing to him. He possesed the bodies of creatures that dare to come in contact with it. Changing their bodies to his own likeness. One of those creatures happened to be stygian. The pillars had to use the elements of harmony and sacrifise themself to banish the parasitic monster to tartarus so it wouldn't hurt anypony ever again. And so, for thousands of moons he remained trapped in his cell, waiting for his freedom. And one day he got exactly what he wanted. Six ponies travelled to tartarus in search of Tirek, the narcissistic centaur he grew to hate over his years of captivity. The 6 mares in question had to use the magic of every monster in tartarus to get out, even his. Though he was in his weakest form, he saw a window of opportunity, the gate to tartarus was opened! With all the strength he could muster, he sprinted towards it and.... he did it. After centuries of his captivity, he was finally out. His short moment of clarity was short-lived, though. He had to immidietly hide in a bush so the mares wouldn't notice him. And so, he followed the girls to the school of friendship, but there was a problem. His weak form didn't allow him to posses anything, and if he did try it, then he would immidietly be thrown back out. So he decided to simply wait outside. Moments passed, and suddenly, he felt his magic come back to him once more. After some time passed again, he saw the same mares that were in tartarus, along with 3 fillies he didn't see before. And so, he decided to follow the orange one with a cowboy hat. She lived on a huge farm, one that was larger than the ones he saw in the times of the pillars. For the night, he decided to disguise himself as an apple, awaiting his prey.
DAWN OF THE NEXT DAY
"Hey apple bloom! Could ya help me out over here?"- said the mare, bucking the trees.
"sure thing, sis!"- replied the yellow colored filly.
And so, she went on bucking any tree she saw for apples, until she encountered a tree that had an apple which was way darker than the ones she knew everything about.
"Huh? What's wrong with this one? Ah never saw an apple that dark before?"- questioned, the young filly.
"Well, ya only live once" After all, it's just an apple, am sure Applejack won't be mad if we're missing just one."- said the filly confidently. A mistake that would end up taking the lives and friendships of young fillies to come.
And so, Apple bloom bit the apple.
"Mmh! It's actually pretty swe-"- Apple bloom stopped mid sentence, when suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her chest, and next thing she knew, she passed out...
"Gyah, mah head! What happened?"- Apple bloom found herself in a black void. She tried to move around, but quickly, she hit an invisible force field, that prevented her from moving forward.
"Ouch! What the hay?!"- Apple bloom cursed in a mix of confusion and shock. Suddenly, a creature appeard in front of her. It looked like her, except for the fact that it had glowing, yellow eye's, teeth as sharp as that of a cerberus, and her colors looked darker, as if they were washed off. Most of her facial features were unable to be seen due to shadows covering them.
"Where am ah? And who in celestia's name are you? And why do you look like me?"- said Apple bloom, frightened.
"he he he....... oh don't you worry, Apple bloom, your body belongs to me now."- said the creature in control of her entire body.
" What do you mean mah body belongs to you? Answer me!"- Apple bloom, now practicaly shouting, wanted to know what were the creatures intentions.
"You see...... I've been without a host for centuries, and you just happened to be in my way. And now, you will get to watch as I strip away the flesh and bones of your pathetic friends, something I wanted to do ever since I got banished thousands of moons ago."
"NO! AH WON'T LET YOU HURT MA FRIENDS AND FAMILY, YOU MONSTER!"- Apple bloom protested, but to no avail.
"Oh, I don't think so. And now, goodbye Apple bloom..." the monster that now controls her actions slowly dissapeared, leaving apple bloom to rot in her prison that was her own mind.
"COME BACK RIGHT BUCKING NOW! DON'T YOU DARE LAY A HOOF ON THEM"- Apple bloom shouted, as she started banging harder on the force field, hoping to crack it a bit.
"DON'T...you...dare..."- Apple bloom slowly stopped banging on the invisible walls, realising nothing she does will get her out now.
"Please......just don't hurt them"- Apple bloom cried out, as she layed on the cold floor. slowly sobbing, with tears running down her cheeks.
"Apple bloom, are ya alright?"- said the country pony, worried about her little sister,
"O-oh! I'm alright Applejack! I was just a bit tired"- responded the faker, wearing apple bloom's facade,
"Are ya sure, sugarcube? It looked like you were sleeping harder than a bear while hibernatin'"- questioned Applejack, a bit suspicious of her sisters actions.
"Ahm 100% sure, sissy! Ya got nothin' to worry 'bout."- reassured "apple bloom" with a tint of nervousness.
" Well, if ya say so. Anyway, we gotta get back to the orchard, we got a lotta work to do."- now relaxed, Applejack responded to the imposter that she though was her younger sister.
"Okay, Applejack. Let's get going, then" - and so, the the mares. whose one of them was an impersonator, got back to the orchard. Little did Applejack know what was just brought onto equestria as a whole.
