Chapter 9: King John
A meadow as far as the eye can see stretched on for miles as the hills roll on into the distance. The entire field is filled with blooming flowers of daisies and night shade. The smell of the flowers filled the air with lavender and a pleasant sense of a memory that never was. John laid his entire pony out as he took a moment to rest in the grass. He looked up to the bright, clear sky with not a single cloud in the air. John didn’t have a smile, only the same dumb look that he had before. Yet he felt free for a moment.
Not a single random thought entered his mind. For once, his mind was empty. It was peaceful and he didn’t want it to end. Yet somehow, somewhere deep within his soul, he felt like he had been to this place before. It was a like a long gone memory from ages ago, yet never in his life had he ever been to a place like this before. John started to get up and looked around.
He felt a slight breeze pass him by, yet it was all quiet aside from some birds chirping that he could not see. He curiously scanned the area, yet couldn’t remember where he was. Yet somehow he felt like he was home. This is what he always wanted for some time now and just couldn’t find it up until now, yet something was off. Nothing seemed right.
He started to wonder if he was just some place not too long ago from a different point in time. John questioned himself he was just in a cave not too long ago with some weird creatures. Did the past really happen he had thought? Was anything real? Was is it all just a fairytale of made up stories? Was he really alive? Yet even then he couldn’t muster the energy to think of it. It was weighing him down with no end in sight. So John calmed his nerves and just concentrated on the blissful scenery. John started to walk as the grass gently passed against his hooves. John could smell a certain scent that made him of what used to be him. It was almost nostalgic to him. Yet his mind was telling him different. He started to become dizzy as he tried to think about it too much.
He was in a place that held beauty to the finest detail, yet something was off with it all. The more he tried to think of his own existence in correlation to the place he was in, the more weird he felt. He felt like he didn’t belong here and that none of it was real, yet there he was, living and breathing in it. John started to get dizzy as he had trouble holding himself up straight.
John got up and tried to move. As he looked around, the place seemed familiar to him in some weird way. John tried to walk forward, yet he felt like he needed to lie down and bury his head into something just to make the bad feelings that he was getting to go away. John hanged his head down and closed his eyes tightly, trying to make it all go away. After a few seconds, everything seemed to have corrected itself as he opened his eyes, and before him was a door to a house all of a sudden. It seemed familiar, yet alien to him. Behind the door, he knew something was behind it.
It was something that he knew and what was waiting for him on the other side. John held out his right forearm and put his right hoof on the doorknob. He paused and took a deep breath as he was about to open the door. Yet something inside of him stopped him in mid-air, making him frozen like an ice statue. Part of his mind was saying ‘no’ and not to open the door or else face the consequences of his actions. And another part of him just didn’t want to open the door period so he can’t remember despite him wanting to remember. John closed his eyes once again for a few seconds. When he opened them back up, everything was gone. The beautiful sunshine, the meadow, the peacefulness of it all was all but oblivious.
All it was replaced with was a black void of nothingness; something that he was waiting for a long time to be enveloped in. Yet in the blackness, he could still see himself as there was something solid beneath him. John looked over to his right and saw his throne before it was taken from him. John then followed his natural sense and walked towards it. The throne was untouched and was almost as if Lord Chernobog never came to take it away from him to begin with. John climbed on to the big chair and sat on it like how he did before. As he sat high on his throne, he stared out into a bleak nothingness with a hint of a light somewhere far off into the distance that he would never reach. All the while, his usual looks of his eyes remained cross-eyed and his mind returned to being filled with randomness once again.
Before he blurted out random words and random things started popping out from nowhere, a beautiful sight walked from beside of him: his precious wife Luna. In his mind, he was happy to see her, even if he couldn’t show it. He specifically looked at her long, dancingly hooves and legs, relishing in seeing them once again after what felt like forever. Luna stared back into his eyes with a sense of love that she or John had ever felt before in a long time. Luna herself was in a perfect state as well. She was unharmed and gleamed with a bright and beautiful glow that smelled like fresh moon light flowers that grew in the gardens of Cantorlot. She fluttered her eyes towards John and without saying a single word, got near the throne and gently placed her head down near John’s hooves on the throne.
She closed her eyes as she took in the moment between the two while John kept his head high and looked out towards the nothingness with a sense of pride. In a blink of an eye however, all that went away too as John woke up. John was once again alone, back in where he first started from before. John was still in the cave, but this time all alone. The King’s Crystal didn’t move and there was a sense of emptiness as John looked around without a mummer.
He looked around as his heart started to beat a little higher; and all he could hear was the dripping of water coming from the walls of the cave. It was scary, yet depressing at the same time. All of his friends had abandoned him. He was all alone. No one believed in him. He went this far, all the way through the long, treacherous journey, and yet failed to meet his goal he had thought to himself. All he could do was hang is head in silence and depression. Yet none of the feelings was described through emotions, only in his head.
He was cursed to forever remain the way that he was. For all he cared, a dark, scary monster that lived in the cave could come from out of nowhere and put an end to his misery. Yet at that moment, John caught something from the corner of his eyes. John was not alone as he perked his head up quickly.
SOMEWHERE ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF CANTORLOT MANY HOURS LATER….
It took what seemed like forever, but the remainder of The Knights of John made it back to where the fight began. They doubled back, and while it was tiring, they were at least grateful that no pesky bird was following them to slow them down. The rest of the band of heroes positioned themselves on the highest hill they could find that overlooked the kingdom and in the city of Cantorlot. No one could see them as it made the perfect spot to stay in cover and gather intelligence.
TK kneeled down and used his specialty that lied in his suit to get a closer look at the kingdom from afar in detail. The others stood behind them, preparing for the long struggle ahead of them. A wind passed them as they tried to keep their focus as this would be their final endgame. TK spied on what was happening below.
Ventus asked TK kindly, “What do you see?”
TK responded with a sense of knowledge, “They preparing for their final cleansing it seems. I’ve seen it in many other places. They are likely preparing to purge the lands and claim it as their own.”
TK spoke as he was seeing in detail the minions of Lord Chernobog; putting all of the helpless ponies that still remains into tight cages. All the while others prepared their weapons of choice to execute all that refused to accept death. The dark, crystal creatures only followed their instincts of their master after all, so they showed no feelings of happiness, sinister, or regret. They were simply getting ready to cull the subjects of the kingdom regardless of whom or what they are to please their master. Yet despite the preparations, TK couldn’t get intel on Lord Chernobog’s last position. He was nowhere to be seen in sight. It was starting to bother him, almost as if this could lead to something more terrible.
TK decided to speak up, “This could be a trap.”
Glacio knew something bad could happen, yet spoke the words, “Well…. What other choice do we have?”
TK then said bluntly to him as he started to gather his bearing and stood up firmly, “It’ll be an ambush.”
Glacio held his head low in shame as TK looked towards him, “I know…. But we need to try. It’s the only thing we can do.”
Ignis placed a hand on Glacio’s right shoulder to comfort him with worry on his face, “Don’t say that. We’ll make it.”
Terra tried to butt in, “Are you sure? It doesn’t seem like we even have a chance to begin with?”
Ventus started to shake a little as he looked towards TK as his face was stricken with fear, “Are we going to do die?”
TK hanged his head low too as he raised his right arm up in solitude, “Maybe. But whatever happens, I’ll still live. And at the very least, if the worst comes to it, I’ll at least avenge your deaths. My chances of survival are more likely after all. I’ll take lead.”
TK was about to start heading out, but Glacio stopped him with a tempted, yet hopeless look, “No. I’ll go. I know it’s stupid, but if this is the last time we do anything, it must be me. I must fight for my kingdom. This is my fault after all. This is all of our faults. If we were just a little better and stopped him when we had the chance back home, none of this would have happened. Let at least give me the chance to die for what is rightfully mine.”
TK only stared at him cold, “Like I said, your honor will be the death of you. It’s your choice though, I won’t stop you.”
Glacio nodded his head in silence, embracing everything that came with the deal. Everyone else wanted to be mad at TK, yet even they knew he was right. Glacio started to leave first as he headed down hill followed by Ignis, then Terra.
Ventus was going to be next, but he looked at TK with despair, knowing what might come, “If anything happens to us, at least keep Glacio’s promise and go back for John at least. Tell him he was a good friend.”
TK only said harshly to him as he shook his head, “No promises.”
Ventus wanted to say something back at him, yet he felt like it was the best he was going to get at the end of his possible life with what little he lived. Ventus started to head down with the others and TK followed in last, letting Glacio take all the glory and fight Lord Chernobog himself to the death.
BACK IN THE CAVE…
John was alone by his lonesome self, yet was not alone at the same time. Before him, he saw the ghosts of the pasts that he saw throughout his journey. They varied in their sprit form, as some hovered without touching the ground as others where mere outlines of what they once were with only eyes left to make anything out of their souls. Regardless of the apparitions, there were many as they surrounded both the crystal and John. John was not afraid however as he remained calm and only looked around a tad swiftly.
The spirits were slowly enclosing on his space as John was unsure what was even happening to begin with. All he knew was he was still all alone in a physical sense in the cave with no one to help him out of trouble. John was starting to think past his broken self and started to realize who these spirits were for a slight moment.
For a moment, John was starting to become who he was once before many moons ago; forever breaking the circle that bounded him to his twisted fate. He was starting to become whole again. However, the memories were interrupted as a bright light flashed from the crystal, enough to push the mystic spirits backs a bit as John suddenly covered his crooked eyes with his left hoof. The intensity was immense and the fact that it came out of nowhere took John off his guard, not that he had one to begin with. Soon, the light started to fade just a bit as John lowered down his hoof and to see what was brought forth; And from the King’s Crystal, it was bestowed upon John in an almost an amazement within itself: The King himself.
The father of Glacio had a long black hair dangling from his side with a beard that was fit for a king. He wore his royal robe of high stature and armory of pure light with his trusty, mighty sword by his side. He had a black style beard full of wisdom and stood just as tall as TK did while wearing a shiny crown upon his head with courage and grace. He looked clean and healthy, almost as if he was alive. Yet, with a closer eye, even John could tell he was merely an apparition as well. Yet the King brought no harm as he stood there, towering over John with a warm, yet brightful smile. John looked up as he sat on his bottom and just stared silently into the eyes of The King that he had heard so much about.
The King then gently kneeled towards John’s eye level as he laced his ghostly hand on John’s left shoulder, “I thank you for helping my son John. I have kept my eye on you as well as the others throughout your journey. And while I wish I could have helped, I am forever trapped in the land of death. And before I moved on for good, I wanted to know if my son was alright.”
John then blurted out suddenly, “I snorted pixie sticks two months ago and dumped out a flying turd!”
The King could only chuckle at his random phrases.
He wasn’t disturbed, only amused by his words, “I know what you’re trying to say John. Honestly someone like you is someone I would never would have expected to have come this far, yet you are here. I know this will be too much for me to ask from you, but from one True King to another, please do me a favor and save my son.”
The King started to look a little gloomy as he rolled his eyes down with a little frown.
The King humbled himself, “I’m afraid my son will get himself killed and will end up where I am at. He has so much life ahead of him and his people still need to be lead. He must not fail. Please, do whatever it takes to save my son and his friends.”
The King then took his ghostly hand off John’s left shoulder and stood up while still staring down at John.
The King made his request, “Please, use my crystal to its fullest extent and unleash the power that resides in you to save them and stop Chernobog. In you, the crystal knows that you are a True King. Open your mind and your heart and embrace the power of your soul. Be the True King that you are meant to be and fulfill your destiny that you have made for yourself!”
The King stepped aside as John was caught into a trance by the King’s Crystal. He stood there, almost dumbfounded as the light from the crystal enveloped John. It enveloped him with a divine glow and a power that he could have only have said in his randomness delight.
John was a True King.
BACK IN CANTERLOT….
The Eternal Night’s glimmering stars and the shining light of the moon was what lit their path down the hill. They all paid careful attention to make sure to retain their energy as they made their way down the steep slope and onto a more even path. As soon as Glacio made it all the way down, he hid behind a big boulder that sat there almost as if it was made for them I that moment. It was blocking their presence from the crystal henchmen as they continued to torture and cause endless pain and suffering to the ponies.
As the others followed his actions, Glacio peeked out to the side in a sad and depressed state. He spied upon the ponies that were all shoved tightly into metal cages, packed in like cattle. There were torches lit to give the black crystal creatures a little light to work with as they continued their work of torture. The land however remained mostly flat before them with only some bushes and a couple of trees nearby. And what seemed like a mile ahead was the entrance to the castle with a giant hole made in it.
Glacio had trouble remembering if that hole was even there when they met John for the first time or Lord Chernobog had made it himself. Aside from the straight rows of small cells keeping the ponies in and the hundreds of horrendous creatures that only Lord Chernobog could come up with in his twisted mind, the game plan was set. Yet at the same time, his instincts were telling him that this would not end well.
Glacio, however, had no choice and must push forward regardless of his feelings. He could not go back home empty handed, and if he dies, then he would die with honor just as his ancestors had in the past. At least he would achieve one thing as king by that point. As TK came down last behind the rest, Glacio looked over towards the others.
He said to them all in a low tone as he pulled out his sword, “Ok, let’s make sure we are all on the same page. Terra and Ventus, try to save as many ponies as you can.”
Ventus and Terra nodded as they were prepared to do their jobs, yet were filled to the brim with fear if anything went awry.
Glacio then looked overt to TK and Ignis as TK crossed his arms, “You two hold off anyone and anything that tries to get in your way. And try to kill as many as you can so Terra and Ventus have enough time to get the ponies out.”
Ignis nodded his head as TK only gave a low grunt in agreement.
Glacio looked over his shoulder with a depressed, yet burning desire in his eyes, “For me, I’ll go after Lord Chernobog and try to end this nightmare once and for all. I’ll try to head for the crystal. If I don’t make it though…. Well…. Try to live for me.”
Glacio turned around and readied his body for the battle head.
Ventus tried to reach other as he murmured, “Glacio….”
Terra gently pushed his arm down and shook her head. Ventus could only look downward in realization. Ignis and TK were at the ready as Ventus and Terra were prepared to fight as much as they could as they all stood behind their leader. Glacio took a moment to raise his sword for a brief moment, take one long breath in, and looked towards the sky. He saw all of memories flood past him and what the possible future could be before him. It was unclear to him which path he would be on by putting himself at risk. Despite that however, he knew that there was no going back. One way or another though, he would have his honor.
Glacio then took a deep breath and yelled out in a battle cry, “FOR OUR HOME LAND!!!!”
Glacio turned around the corner of the boulder and sprinted towards what was now the battlefield. The others ran behind him into the fray as they were now in the thick of it. The various creatures made of black crystal quickly took noticed as did the prisoners who were desperate for hope. Two black crystal panthers and 2 disfigured, along with fragmented crystal beings that walked on two legs with spiked arms aimed straight for Glacio.
As the others ran behind him and followed his lead, Glacio raised his left hand and spewed a stream of below 0 degrees ice. It sprayed towards the two black crystal panthers, freezing them in place. Glacio then prepared his sword and held his energy as he ran by the two disfigured black crystal beings as he slashed each of their legs as they both towered above him by four feet.
As he cut their legs off, both beings collapsed and fell almost as if they were made of paper lead. The rest behind him took on their roles respectively as Glacio kept running towards the big gaping hole in the side of the castle wall. At first, the fight seemed simple with their goal to hold off and defend. Yet, the more they fought, the more it seemed like the black crystal creatures were coming from out of nowhere from a never ending source.
However, despite the odds that seemed stacked against them, they didn’t stop pursing their objective as they kept going no matter what. TK in particular wasn’t even breaking a sweat, yet was occupied with a large amount of force pushed against him. TK held his sword out, slicing and dicing the creatures as if they were nothing.
He was brutal in his method, leaving nothing alive in his wake. He moved flawlessly and moved with a flow. TK had momentum and the only thing pushing him to keep up his rage was to ensure the annihilation of his enemy. He was ruthless, yet effective. The others took quick notice and realized why Glacio kept him around for so long. TK was a monster, if not, the title of Devil that he was given. As the battle raged on, The Executioner of the ponies came crawling out as it dragged its dull rusty axe across the ground from a far distance. It made a low pitched wailing noise as it echoed through the battlefield. As it moved forward, the other black crystal creatures moved out of its way, implying it was a force to be reckoned with.
As the helpless ponies awaited their rescue from their cages, they all cowered in fear, trembling in the sight of what was killing them off one-by-one. The look of fear and death could not have been so obvious in their eyes as the others took noticed. As TK was cutting his latest victim into small pieces, the others nearby black crystal creatures ran away and backed up by a few good feet away from the two opponents. The other three backed up as well, fearing what might happen to them if they interfered.
TK had his back to The Executioner as he was finishing his work. TK then perked up and sensed a beast was behind him. Without a word, TK turned around swiftly and looked up at the towering, slender like crystal creature. It had no eyes, no face; every part of its body was skinny like a skeleton. It reached at twice the height of TK who was already over six feet. Despite the thing not having any sense of sight, it stared as if it was looking down on TK.
The two were then locked into each other, both staring menacingly at each other. Despite the lack of communication between each other, they were talking to each other; letting each other know this will be their end just by their stance and posture. The Executioner gave out a loud, yet low growl as it then without warning raised its rusty big axe and swung across a wide away at TK’s legs. Yet TK was faster as he jumped in the air as the thing tried to take his legs off. As TK landed on his feet and his cape drooped back down to the Earth, TK could only scoff at it as he said out loud with a careless tone, “Pathetic.”
The Executioner growled once more and swung its arms back and tried to take TK on overhead. As the rusty axe came down like a large hammer, TK held his sword across his face and easily deflected the ax; briefly stunning The Executioner for a few seconds. TK then reached to his back quickly, took out his shotgun, and swiftly took aim at the creature’s knees. Once the knee caps were blown off clean and the creature was falling to the ground, TK hastily lobbed off its head with one hard swing.
The head then rolled towards the other three as they looked horrified and the ponies remained in shock.
In a brief moment of silence, TK only stared back as he adjusted his head to the right, “Keep up.”
As Ventus and Terra went back to freeing the ponies and trying to unlock the cages, Ignis couldn’t help but give TK a little smirk, “Hard Ass.”
Ignis was then caught off guard slightly as he suddenly heard screeching from the sky above him. Ignis was alerted to see a flock of black crystal crows coming right for him. They were flying in a group, only twenty one feet away from him almost too many to count.
They were all aiming for Ignis as their wings flapped with the darkness of the Eternal Night above them. While he was caught off guard for a bit, Ignis jumped back a few inches, took his position, and started to light the fire inside his soul. In a quick few seconds, both the palm of his hands went ablaze.
He threw his head back and fired away, throwing a ball of fire that was about four inches in diameter at the crows. He threw as many as he thought that he needed to and let the flames do the rest. As the balls of flames hurdled towards the group, some screeched and flew to the side to get out of the way. However, about seventy seven percent of the entire flock was not as lucky as the rest went up in flames and burned away to ashes as they fell from the night filled skies.
If it wasn’t for the moonlight, Ignis may not have seen the birds and would have been bird food. For the black crystal crows that survived the carnage from Ignis, they retreated and flew away knowing they were outmatched.
As the bodies fell, Ignis with his inflating ego said while striking his fist in the air, “Bullseye!”
To his dismay, his ego got in the way as a bigger sized crow came swooping in from behind him. It was the size of a car as it silently crept up on Ignis, going in for the kill. All Ignis could hear was the loud screech that sounded almost like an eagle combined with a lion as he was caught off guard once more.
TK however saw how he stumbled on his own actions and his delayed reaction as he took out his shotgun from behind and one shot the bird. The bird shattered into tiny little crystal pieces that glittered in the moonlight before it could get to Ignis.
As TK went back to slashing away at some smaller black crystal creatures that was the size of a rat, he gave Ignis a glare of a slight disappointment and a low tone, “Watch Yourself.”
As Ignis tried to gather himself up from the surprise attack, he could only give a similar glare back and snapped towards him, “Shut up and fight.”
TK took note of it, killed the final creature from nearby and ran off to slaughter another group. Ignis saw him run off and was glad he didn’t fight him back on the boat. He then took his attention to keeping Ventus and Terra safe as they did their job. Ignis continued to fend off the crystal creatures of the night and keep them away as far as possible from the other two.
Ignis asked as he was firing at abstracted four legged crystal beasts, “How are you two holding up!? Making progress?”
Terra and Ventus were struggling as they tried to free the ponies. They were dodging fire and jumping over strikes on their lives from the henchmen that were Lord Chernobog’s army of black crystal thugs. Terra worked on breaking the locks and chains free while Ventus focused on leading the ponies far away as possible. However someponies were broken, too weak to even walk out of the cage. Ventus had to struggle carrying them out one by one as he was surprised to feel the weight despite their smaller size than him.
He would have to hurry and carry them on his back or drag them out if he had to; all the while acting with haste. If a crystal monster approached him, he would thrust his arms outward and push them away with the wind, stunning them for a moment. Terra on the other hand would use the Earth to her advantage and trap them into the ground and suffocate them where she could.
However it was just too much for them to handle as Terra frustratingly said back to Ignis, “Kind of busy trying not to die!”
Ignis replied back with a little snark as he started using his fist a little to beat down another crystal monster that grabbed on to his leg, “Well! The sooner you’re done, the sooner we can get out of here!”
Meanwhile, many feet away from the rows of cages, TK was fighting off a hoard that was circling him.
He had it under control and yelled back to the others as he held his shotgun with a firm grip and tearing a crystal monster like paper, “Just hurry it up!”
The chaos continued to grow into more than what they could handle it seemed, almost turning it into a hopeless situation.
Glacio was left alone as he entered the hollowed walls of what used to be John’s castle. When he entered, it was empty, barren, almost in a disturbing sense. He noticed what used to be stained glass windows, depicting heavenly images from a kingdom long gone. As his steps echoed as the battle raged on outside, he looked towards the floor and found a broken stained glass of what looked like John. Glacio as he let his defense down and his arms loose started to wonder if John was a True King after all.
His mind started to feel thoughts of regret and sadness, yet his thoughts was put in its place as he heard a booming voice coming from the depths of darkness that laid before him. Glacio looked up to see what used to be John’s throne covered in complete darkness with a giant shadowy figure.
His eyes glowed red with hate and evil as he came slowly forward into the gleaming moonlight, “Nice to see you again Glacio.”
Glacio put his guard back up quickly, holding his sword up high and mighty with his life. He stared at him with a glare of death from within and without. Lord Chernobog could only help but give a small chuckle as he trudged forward as the hulking beast he was. He was grinning ear to ear as he continued to carry what was almost the corpse of Princess Luna around, just barely hanging in there. She was starting to limp like a dead body, asking for her end to come already as her eyes begged for mercy.
His aurora seemed to glow a little more since the last time they had met as he slightly raised his left arm to show that there was no way out of this mess. Glacio could sense the stench of death coming from him as he gulped and tried to keep himself together.
Lord Chernobog said as he gave him a side glance with a sniveling tone, “What’s the matter Glacio? You look a little a tense. Why not relax? Is it because your new little friend isn’t here? The one that you put all of your faith in and thought that could save you and your friends from their inevitable ends? The one that could finally rein me in and put a stop to me? And yet…. Where is he?”
Glacio started to become a little intimidated, as he tried to hold his sword up and show no weakness towards him. Despite his stern look, Lord Chernobog could sense that he was breaking through him.
He continued to take some more steps towards him in his dominance as he continued to belittle him, “Let’s face it Glacio, you lost faith in your little bet. You abandon it like everyone else usually does. What a sad and pathetic waste I say. No loyalty; only trying to save your own skin because you lost a little faith. Believe me; I know that from personal experience. You’re no king; you’re just like every other little living scum that can’t crawl out of their little hole that they made for themselves. And instead, you’ll blame it on others and try to rally the troops. All the while you preach to put their faith into a new cause just for it to go all wrong all over again in an endless loop. It’s not about the solution, it’s about having faith in what you do to the bitter end. It’s what a True King yields, and yet you have none.”
There was a brief moment of silence as Glacio’s eyes started to dart around, looking a way to escape from what seemed like a trap almost. Lord Chernobog could sense a similar mindset as well as he started to growl underneath his breath. In a blink of an eye, Glacio started to run further into the castle as Lord Chernobog darted for Glacio.
The ground shook with every stomp and leaving a footprint as a reminder in the marbled floor. As Glacio tried to outrun Lord Chernobog, he turned around quickly, aimed with his free hand, and shot a fury of ice towards Lord Chernobog. He saw this coming in a fraction of a second and hastily dodged rolled to the left a bit, leaving a trail of a destroyed floor and a loud rumble. As Lord Chernobog controlled himself, he stopped and landed into a kneeling position, annoyed that he was put off course by a small human. Glacio continued to run as fast as he could to get out of the castle and head out the way he came in through the hole.
As he tried to make for an exit, Lord Chernobog with no question aimed his spiked arm and fired a long black crystal spear towards Glacio. Glacio sensed the threat and as fast as he could, he fired his cold hands again and covered the hurdling projectile and froze it in mid air.
After losing its momentum, it then fell to the floor and shattered into tiny pieces. Glacio then continued running as Lord Chernobog got back up and started gunning for Glacio once more. Glacio was able to make it out back of the same gaping hole as he rushed to get back outside. As he ran and got as far as he could, Lord Chernobog busted through the wall, making an even bigger mess than there already was as debris crumbled and scattered throughout the area. It was a big enough mess that the others took noticed as they continued their fight.
The rest of the heroes were left a quarter mile back as Glacio tried to run towards them in desperate need of help. As Glacio ran and Lord Chernobog followed close behind, Glacio tripped and fell a bit. However, he pushed himself back up after stumbling as he started to sweat in fear of the monster behind him; wanting his head on a silver platter. Glacio quickly got back up with Lord Chernobog getting ever so closer to him with every echoing stomp that he made behind him.
To slow him down just a bit, Glacio improvised and turned around again once more to spray a long stream of ice from his hands to create a standing ice wall as high as he could. However it was sloppy and disjointed. It almost reached the height of Lord Chernobog, but not quite. As Glacio kept running from the unwinnable fight, Lord Chernobog forced through the thin ice wall. It shattered into tiny, fractured pieces like fragmented shards of a broken window. Glacio looked back and realized his efforts had gone to waste. All attempts to stop Lord Chernobog had gone wrong as Glacio stumbled once more.
Lord Chernobog had finally gotten up to him as Glacio tried to keep it all together in fear. Lord Chernobog tried to swing and hit Glacio with his spiked arm; but in a flash, Glacio dodged to the right as his arm came down with a thud on the ground. Lord Chernobog quickly pulled his arm back as he followed his red evil eyes on Glacio. The human thought up something fast and aimed at Lord Chernobog’s left leg and encasing it in ice. This worked better than the wall as Lord Chernobog was stuck in place as he struggled. His movements restricted him to the point where he couldn’t keep his balance as he kneeled down once more. It left him wide open to any attack that could be dished out towards him.
Glacio took the opportunity and raised his sword and attempted to swing at his downed leg, yet in a blink of an eye, Lord Chernobog pushed himself; pushing his energy and breaking free from the ice around his leg. As the ice fractured, Glacio was taken aback by it, seeing his plans crumbling right before him in shock. Nothing was going to stop this beast from achieving his goals. Lord Chernobog got back up and tried to swipe at him with his left arm, however Glacio was quicker as he was able to take a step back and avoid the hit.
However, Glacio couldn’t keep his balance as he stumbled and fell on to his back. Lord Chernobog grinned and quickly got on top of him with a loud thump as he pinned his spike hand on the ground an inch close to Glacio’s face. Glacio and Lord Chernobog were face to face, as close as they had ever been before as Glacio started to breathe heavily by his internal instincts. Lord Chernobog was going to enjoy every last bit of it as he stared directly into his eyes as Glacio wad facing his ultimate demise.
Lord Chernobog said close to his face with his foul breath, “Did you really think you could stop me? You’re no more than a puny creature, a roach no less, that needs to be stomped out. You lost; you will die like a worthless human like how your father died.”
The other small black crystal creatures that attacked the rest of the group had all started to scatter and leave as they felt their presence of their master wanting the moment. They all left, almost disappearing from reality itself. As TK and Ignis took care of their last targets and Terra and Ventus carried out the last ponies, they all questioned what was happening. Ventus however had some good eyes as he pointed out to the others where Glacio was. They all tried to rush out as they called out to Glacio; trying to save him.
Glacio on the other hand looked over to them and yelled out as far as he could, “Stop, go back! Save yourselves! I’m sorry I failed you all!”
Lord Chernobog got closer to his face, teasing him as Glacio closed his eyes and turned his head in disgrace, “Yes, say goodbye to the last bit of hope you will ever have. Once I’m done with you, they are next, and I’ll make sure to take my time with them.”
To his surprise, a voiced boomed out from the heavens, “TWINKIE FUCK!”
Everyone including Lord Chernobog was taken aback by this, dumbfounded even. Lord Chernobog immediately got up; as did Glacio the best his could as he ran back to the others. Lord Chernobog was confused as he seemed like he was sensing a challenge that would rival his power.
He looked up to the sky as he walked in a circle, yet saw nothing up above, “WHO IS THERE!? WHO DARES TO CHALLENGE ME!?”
The Eternal Night then flashed almost as if the sun had come back up. The flash of light was so bright, the humans covered their faces as Lord Chernobog stood firm and tall, seeing his next kill right in front of him; yet he wasn’t so pleased to see it. The light then shimmered down a bit as a shimmering glow in a sphere lit up the nearby area as it lingered in the sky fourteen feet above Lord Chernobog.
Inside the sphere was no other than John himself as he floated in mid air within the ball of fire and light, “FATTY TINKLE SPRINKLE BITCHES!!!!”
John floated like a god as he stared down with his usual cross eyed glare on Lord Chernobog. The others were shocked and surprised, yet relieved that he made it finally. They were happy to see he had reached his full potential. John’s loyal subjects who were captured and tortured for so long were also glad to see their one and only king come to liberate them. They were happy to see their king free them from their hell after so long as they cheered and had hope return to their hearts. Lord Chernobog on the other hand was not pleased, yet was unmoved by John’s presence. He simply saw it as a final challenge to his throne.
He looked up towards John and smirked as he grunted to himself, “So, it appears that you found The King’s Crystal. I judged you wrong I’ll admit, I didn’t think the likes of you let alone your kind could achieve such greatness. I suppose you are a True King after all…. And you’ll die as one tonight.”
The veil threat made to John didn’t move him at all. He didn’t flinch nor show signs of weakness. The two only merely stared at each other; two titans of powers trying to both show their might in front of the weak flock of subjects. They looked at each other, wondering when the other would make a move simply by judging their body language. Both of them stood still and firm as a statue that would strike a single pony down in flames within a second.
Lord Chernobog was starting to lose his patients, “Why don’t you come down here like the filth that you are!? I didn’t get to end you the last time we met.”
John was not afraid and remained still, yet his words were not coherent.
Instead he started to babble random words without anything to string them together, “Butt, big titty, bird, apple, cock, chicken, W W W W, Deci, Captain, C, Asshole, slothy Righty, my anus is bleeding!”
Despite the randomness of the words, Glacio, while in pain and tiredness, looked up towards John with a warm smile. He couldn’t have been happier to have finally seen John hold the power of his father’s crystal. He hadn’t seen the crystal be used since he was a lad. To him and seeing his friend John using the power was all the more glory to him. John shined brighter than he had ever thought he would have seen him.
The two giants of the kingdom locked eyes once more as John said to Lord Chernobog, “GET AWAY FROM MY LEGS!”
Lord Chernobog had an evil smug look on his face as he laughed and scoffed at John.
As he showed his vile smile, he teased to John, “Then why don’t you come down here then John. Let’s finish this once and for all and end this little story. We’ll find out how who is a Truer King by the end and who gets the happy ending.”
Without warning, John gathered his energy quickly and zoomed forward with the shield of the sphere around him protecting him as he screeched, “TITTY SPRINKLES!!!!”
As John was hurdling down towards Lord Chernobog at a fast speed from high in the sky, the black crystal king smiled evil from ear to ear, as he raised his spike arm up as he prepared to shoot him out of the sky. Yet to his surprise, John started to fire small, yet deadly balls of fire towards Lord Chernobog. The black crystal king was taken aback by this with his mouth agape. He realized the fight was going to be a tough one for him and John.
The fireballs came down quickly without a second to lose. Lord Chernobog rolled to the right to dodge the explosions as the fireballs landed, all the while keeping John’s wife still safe, yet damaged in his right hand still. As Lord Chernobog moved out of the way safely, John got close to him and zoomed right past him, almost as if he was trying to hit him directly. This threw Lord Chernobog off balance as it angered him.
He started to think and came to the conclusion that he would need to concentrate and follow John’s moves. Lord Chernobog looked to his right side and harshly placed Luna down on a small pile of rocks and debris. Luna was lazy slumped over the uneven small mountain of rubble as every part of her aching body was in pain. Still remained alive, but all she could do was hear and see her precious lover John from a distance as she moaned out in agony. Lord Chernobog then brought his attention back to John as he was flying and zooming in the sky trying to strike at him again.
Lord Chernobog started to growl, raised his crystal arm, and started running towards John; firing every chance he got as they ran around the huge open area of the castle grounds. Everypony else stayed back as far as they could as they watched the final spectacle of the final fight in awe. John was zooming past many tall structures and randomly placed trees that were put on the royal ground from before, trying to concentrate not to hit any of it and trying to turn around. Yet to his dismay, Lord Chernobog was hot on his trail, firing long spikes of black crystals. The fired shots went over John’s protective shield, all the while John was trying to keep it all together.
As John started to have his tasks starting to become overwhelming, John lost his grip as he went upward towards the heavens and accidently let a black crystal hit his sphere of protection. When it hit his shield, it hit hard. It got lodged into his sphere. At first, it did nothing, but after a few seconds, it started to get black and blacker before it exploded and pushed John to the ground without control.
As John was falling from high from the sky, Lord Chernobog ran a little faster and jumped into the air and grabbed him with his right hand. Once he grabbed him, he held on to him tight, clinging heavily and digging his claws into his torso. John wasn’t feeling anything because of his own reasons, yet he was fully aware as to what was going on within his mind. As the two fell back down to the ground by the force of gravity, Lord Chernobog had a stern look on his face, wanting to rip John to shred. Once Lord Chernobog landed on his two big feet with a loud thump, he without hesitation threw John down to the ground so harshly that once he touched the ground, he bounced right back up towards the sky.
Once he bounced high enough, Lord Chernobog quickly spun around and kicked him with a loud thud with his left leg, while letting out a loud grunt. John was sent flying horizontally through the field and fast with his back feeling the air push around him. He was still crossed-eyed and appeared as if he was obvious, yet it was all going through his mind as he tried to hold it all together. Before he knew it, he hit the brick wall of his castle kingdom hard and with a loud bang that could be echoed for miles. For a few seconds, he was stuck to the wall before he fell flat towards the hard ground beneath him while leaving an imprint. Lord Chernobog was hoping that would do him in, yet he was still surprised when John got back up and dusted himself off as if it was nothing.
Once he saw John standing back up ready to continue, he asked him, “So, do you embrace death yet!?”
John simply replied back with his unusual voice and tone, “NO!?”
John started to run and charge towards him with a sign of bravery.
Lord Chernobog then said to him through his booming voice, “THEN YOUR SUFFERING WILL ONLY BE MORE SWEETER TO ME THEN!”
Lord Chernobog then began charging towards John as he screamed out a battle cry. As the two met in the middle of their paths and started to endlessly punching each other, the audience watched as their king and friend fought for their glory and home.
Glacio couldn’t help but smile, yet Ventus was worried for John, “Should we go out and help him? He’s going to be killed!”
Ignis looked over towards Ventus with a smug look, “I don’t think we should. I believe in him! He’s got this!”
Ventus still had his doubts, “Yeah but…. This is Lord Chernobog we’re talking about here. Maybe if we all worked together, we can surely beat him and put an end to this already!”
Terra looked to her brother with a smile while placing her left hand on his right shoulder, “I don’t think we need to worry about that.”
TK then butted in with his dead tone, “We must not interfere, and this is his fight. He has to fight it for himself.”
Ventus was still worrying about John’s safety, “But, but, but but….”
Glacio cut him off as he tried to calm him down with his warm smile, “He’s got this Ventus. I know he has this. I can see it within him that he can beat him.”
Glacio looked back towards the fight and only saw the hope in John from the moment he first met him.
The two kings were still going out, throwing punches left and right and at a fast and brisk pace with almost no end in sight. They both went at it, both giving it their all and not letting up for a second. Despite their sizes, John was able to throw enough of a punch to be an equal to Lord Chernobog’s power. Lord Chernobog tired to punch with all of his might and force, yet John’s punches was canceling out his own punches at the same time.
Eventually there was a slip up, and John slightly moved his right hoof punch just by a small millimeter to the right as Lord Chernobog took his punch to the left. He punched John hard with his right hand, an extremely brutalizing blow to the stomach. This sprung a reaction from John as he opened his mouth and gagged a little. Lord Chernobog then punched him once more, but this time with more power as it sent John back a few good feet. Despite the pushback, John was able to keep his balance and stand on his hooves; however his distance between him and Lord Chernobog was far again.
All the while, Luna tried her best to open her eyes even in the slightest. She saw her beloved, and despite not hearing as well and seeing but a half blurry vision, she could see him fight for her and their home with all of his might. She wanted to smile, she wanted to cheer him on, yet she couldn’t move due to the pain. Yet in her heart, she knows that everything was going to be just alright.
She tried to call out to her love the best she could, “John…. My love…. please….”
As Luna remained half conscious during the fight, John and Lord Chernobog were both eyeing each other more.
However, they didn’t waste a second as they then both started to charge each other once again. Their heads were in a different place that they ended up aiming slight off from each other. As they both ran past each other, they both stated to charge each other’s attacks. John started to become a little fired up as Lord Chernobog’s fist started to have a dark aurora form around it. Yet, they were both distracted and moved too fast as they both zoomed by each other while in the process. They quickly turned around and locked eyes once more. John then started to charge without a single thought while Lord Chernobog grunted to himself with a little smile. As soon as John got close enough, he timed it all perfectly and quickly snatched John up by his legs. He then began to spin around fast and then proceeded to throw him to the left side, causing to disorient John. Yet with the power of The King’s Crystal, he was back in the air and was able to get further away from Lord Chernobog.
He then eyed back at him and started to go harder even more with a rapid attack. John stayed in the air and kept as much distance as he could from him. John harnessed the power from inside of him and summoned small balls of fire from his hooves. He then repeatedly started throwing them one after another towards Lord Chernobog, trying to keep steady and hone on his target. As the balls of fire came hailing down like bullets, Lord Chernobog kept his concentration in check and moved. As the moving target was moving fast and to the left, John only upped the amount of fire balls, increasing the speed of his rapid attack at full force.
Lord Chernobog kept his eyes on John as he kept moving; all the while raising his left arm and firing as many black crystal spikes as he could. All of them missed as they whizzed by John, although a couple were a close call and could have ended John right then and there as John swayed lightly to the right. In the slight pause in John’s rapid attack, Lord Chernobog took the opportunity to then use a new trick up his sleeve. Lord Chernobog slightly bent his knees and locked them in place as he then jutted his left arm forward. And with the power to will the black crystal, his left arm turned into a long Spark Claw that sprung out like a grapple hook as he yelled out in frustration.
John was caught off by surprise as he was quickly grabbed on his left shoulder as the claws dug deep into his skin. John didn’t scream, yet he felt the pain go through his veins. And with the strong force of Lord Chernobog’s strength, he pulled John towards him harshly and without warning. As John was pulled downward back to the ground, Lord Chernobog pulled his right arm back and charged it with dark energy from the black crystal within. As soon as John got close enough to him, he swung his right arm and hit John right in the stomach so hard that John spewed out a mixture of his blood and saliva.
The punch to the abdomen sent John tumbling backwards and gave him a rough landing. John eventually stopped and landed on his back. Yet this was not enough to stop him. While he was hurt, John pushed himself and got back up almost as if nothing had happened aside from some bruises and scratches. As Lord Chernobog waited patiently for John’s next move, John simply stood there and hung his head low.
After a minute of concentrating his power from within that was The King’s Crystal, he raised his head up with a bit of fire in his eyes as he yelled out and screamed. He didn’t scream anything coherent, but it was his war cry as he charged straight for Lord Chernobog.
Lord Chernobog changed his stance and was ready for him to come at him, yet to his surprise, John quickly galloped around him as fast as he could. Lord Chernobog was curious, but before he could turn around and comprehend what the pony was doing, John went around to his back, jumped high and did a high kick; causing Lord Chernobog do go up just a bit.
To connect with the attack, John had flames coming from his right hoof as he charged it up and punched him straight in the back, returning the favor from the punch from earlier. This caused a tremendous blow to Lord Chernobog as the hit made him fall over and hit the ground with a loud thud. John then landed and tried to gather his energy again to try and finish him off as he started to breathe heavily a bit. The ponies and the humans that stayed afar from the fight cheered on John, rooting for him to finish off Lord Chernobog. TK in particular looked on, almost as if he was starting to gain a little respect for John.
Ignis smiled as he wiped some sweat from his brow, “Well I’ll be. He’s quite the fighter that I didn’t expect.”
Terra teased Ignis, “I think he might be better than you even.”
Ignis took a slight offense to that as he cringed his teeth, “Hey! I can beat him in a fight if I was given the chance!”
As John was still trying to put himself back together, Lord Chernobog was grabbing a fist full of dirt in his right hand, as he could hear the cheers from a distance. It made him angry. He was thinking and wondering how he could be put down so easily by a little, worthless pony. Yet he was down for the count, almost finished. Yet he could not let it end there. The fight was far from over. As John was looking away slightly, seeing his subjects from out of the corner of his eye, Lord Chernobog pushed himself slightly up to catch John off guard. While John was not looking, Lord Chernobog took aim and shot a black crystal spike straight into John’s chest.
John’s eyes were wide, and yet his body was stiff. The crystal that penetrated his skin paralyzed him as he fell to the floor like a stiff wooden plank. The crystal itself then broke into pieces as the job was done. John couldn’t move a single muscle, yet he could still breathe in the little air that he could as his eyes moved around to see what little he could do.
John had fallen down on left side, so he couldn’t see too much. All he heard was the rumblings of Lord Chernobog getting up from the Earth, grumbling to himself. Lord Chernobog quickly got on top of his little body and without hesitation and with an angered fiery look; he started to wail on John’s defenseless body. With his right fist, he started pummeling him to the ground, hit after hit, punch after punch; John felt every single bit of it. From afar, the crowd of ponies and even the humans except for TK stood a gasp. Some looked away, not being able to bare to watch John getting beaten to death in front of them.
Glacio started to have his worries as well as he yelled out across the empty space, “GET UP JOHN! I KNOW YOU CAN FIGHT IT!”
John could hear the words of encouragement from Glacio. John dug deep down inside of him and used the power of The King’s Crystal to his advantage as he tried to push himself upward. He tried to imagine the feeling of getting up and fighting back all in his mind. The more he thought about it, the closer he was to bringing it to reality.
When John was ready, Lord Chernobog didn’t see it coming. In a flash of light, John was able to gather enough energy from within and push Lord Chernobog backward a bit as he crossed arms to protect himself from the small blast that emanated from John himself. Once Lord Chernobog glimpsed at the power John behold, John himself was in a ball of fire and fury, even more powerful than before. Lord Chernobog could feel it just within the air that John wasn’t playing around as John once again looked at him cross-eyed.
Lord Chernobog mumbled under his breath to himself, “You little bastard. How can you be so stubborn and not die yet?”
John yelled out as he looked up at the sky for a second. And without a single second to lose, John moved faster than before and flying towards Lord Chernobog. Yet despite John’s speed, Lord Chernobog was able to keep up as fast as he could. As John flew at all angles around Lord Chernobog, the black crystal fiend gathered up his dark energy from inside him and used it to keep up with John’s pace.
As John kept trying to punch him from any open spot that he could find, Lord Chernobog would try to counter it in some way. The fight between the two happened so fast, that not even the ponies from so far away could keep up with it almost. It was almost as if they were two balls of light dancing around each other and bouncing around. Despite his efforts, John was not able to keep up with the demand of the speed that he needed to be and failed. Lord Chernobog predicted one of John’s moved and was there to beat him to the punch a microsecond early.
Lord Chernobog had given John a cheap shot to the back with his left spiked crystal arm so fast and so hard, it pushed John in the opposite direction. As John went flying backwards, Lord Chernobog had an evil smirk form on his face as he knew he finally caught him off guard. John went flying backwards, but eventually losing momentum and then tumbling on the ground in the middle of the open area. As soon as John landed on his back, he tried to move to get up by raising his right hoof, but he had no energy left to spare. He completely lost all will to keep going and laid perfectly flat on the ground, not moving a limb. Lord Chernobog started to laugh menacingly in victory as he walked over to John’s motionless body.
Everypony else in the crowd waited for John to get back up, yet there was no sign of life from John. Even the human companions started to wonder if this was the end as a tear almost formed from Glacio’s eyes. Some tried to call out to John under their breath as others cowered in fear, not wanting to see what would happen next. As the subjects wept for their king to return to the land of the living, Lord Chernobog kneeled down. He started poking John’s body almost as if he was poking a dead possum with his left arm. With no response, Lord Chernobog couldn’t smile any more higher.
He turned his head around to look at the other ponies as he yelled out to them, “YOU SEE! YOUR PRECIOUS LITTLE KING IS DEAD! THERE WAS NEVER HOPE FOR YOU ALL TO BEGIN WITH! I WIN! I AM YOUR KING NOW!”
Yet to his dismay, he let his guard down and John was able to use this as his perfect moment to strike back hard. In a blink of an eye, John quickly got back up, took an apple from out of his butt from the time that he visited Ponyville as it was soaked in his anal blood, quickly snuck around, and shoved the apple up Lord Chernobog’s ass.
Lord Chernobog was then stunned as his face was left agape and speechless. He turned his head around to John as he couldn’t say a single word to him. John looked back with his usual cross eyes and without another word; he wounded up his right arm and punched him hard in the stomach, sending him back.
As Lord Chernobog tried to clench his stomach and get a hold of himself, John moved straight forward and started to punch him with his hooves non-stop, each with a devastating blow. So much so, that little cracks started to form in Lord Chernobog’s body. He could feel himself starting to break, and this pushed him to go at John even harder.
Lord Chernobog then grabbed a hold of himself despite the pain seeping in and screaming out in anger. He started blocking John’s punches one after another. Soon, he had enough as he used a burst of dark energy and pushed John a ways back. Soon the two were separated several yards apart across the open field.
He yelled out to John while pointing at him with his right hand, “I’VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR ANTICS YOU ANNOYING LITTLE THING!”
Lord Chernobog then raised both of his arms up as high as he could into the air. He then started to float a little up high as he concentrated all of his dark energy from within himself to form a ball over his head. However, this was no ordinary ball, as it was a ball made of dark crystal energy with a rocky texture to it. With each passing second, it got bigger and bigger, growing into a bigger size than any pony could had ever dream of seeing. Even John started to look up in wonder.
The crowd on the side lines started to wonder how John was going to get out of this one as Ventus mumbled to himself, “My god….”
Eventually the ball of pure dark crystal energy stopped growing and was the quarter the height of John’s castle behind him. Lord Chernobog had a killer look in his eyes as he floated about one foot from the air.
He yelled out to John in fury, “I’M GOING END YOU RIGHT HERE AND NOW YOU WRENCTED CREATURE!”
And with that, Lord Chernobog threw the rocky ball of dark crystal at John as he floated back down to the ground. John saw this, and while it all seemed helpless, John still had the power of The King’s Crystal at his side. John then tried his best to stand on his two hind legs and catch the rocky ball with his two hooves.
John was able to hold on to it with everypony else being in amazement to see such feats. However, the ball itself was pushing on John’s weight. It was clearly moving towards and him, and yet John was putting his all into it. As much as John wanted to give up, he couldn’t. So with all of his power and strength alongside The King’s Crystal within him, he was able to slowly push the dark crystal energy ball forward. With each step, Lord Chernobog became disgruntled, wondering how John was able to resist so much. After fourteen steps, John gathered enough energy despite it started to burn inside of him, and hold the ball just slightly upward. And as soon as he could, he threw it as far as he could back towards Lord Chernobog.
Lord Chernobog stood there surprised as he said out loud in shock, “WHAT!?”
However, the ball didn’t make it too far as it only made it as far as the middle between the two. Right when it reached the middle, it exploded in a dark purple haze, pushing both of the titans backward and to the ground. A bright flash of light and a loud thunderous boom occurred as it echoed throughout Equestria; being heard from Ponyville to Manehatten to anypony who was still left that could hear it. The two weren’t dead yet, but the crowd was left silent, anticipating what would come next in the fight. As the two got back up on their feet, they both eyed each other.
Lord Chernobog was pissed to no end as John looked back with his crossed-eyes with a certain type of glare added to it. Lord Chernobog then opened his arms and yelled as so did John. They both then started rushing towards each other across the field as John started to fly a little upwards to meet Lord Chernobog at eye level. As soon as the two met in the middle, they clashed with each other and butted their heads against one another. A loud bang could be heard as the two struggled with each other.
Lord Chernobog looked the most angered as he yelled out as he tried to push forward against John, “WHY WON’T YOU JUST DIE ALREADY!? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! A PATHETIC LITTLE ANIMAL LIKE YOU SHOULD HAVE GIVEN UP AND DIED BY NOW! AND YET YOU STILL PRESIST! WHY ARE YOU STILL ALIVE! WHY WON’T YOU JUST DIE!?”
John then started to bicker with Lord Chernobog as well, “PAPER CORN, BITCH FART, TITY FAT SPRINKLES ON A BITCH ON A SUNDAY! BARBRA STRISEND! THAT BITCH OWES ME FIFTY BUCKS!”
Lord Chernobog grew tired of John’s non-sensible words as he yelled out to him, “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!? I DON’T EVEN UNDERSTAND IT! WHAT MAKEs YOU KEEP GOING!? IS IT THE POWER!? THE THRONE!? THE LUST FOR BLOOD AND VENGENCE!?”
John’s eyes then quickly darted away to somewhere else and back to Lord Chernobog. John had internally slipped up, yet Lord Chernobog quickly caught on. Lord Chernobog lifted his head up and looked where John was spying at. He then saw Luna as he then started to get an evil grin on his face as the light bulb went off in his head. John kept staring at him, wanting to continue the fight, yet Lord Chernobog had other plans that just came up. Lord Chernobog harshly pushed John to the side as he floated in mid-air, unsure what was happening.
A gut feeling then began to talk to him as he looked over to Luna. His mind, in the dark abyss where it was and how empty and shallow it may have been, connected the dots and knew what was going to happen next, yet it was too late. In a blink of an eye, Lord Chernobog quickly aimed his left arm at Luna and fired a long, lone dark crystal spike.
Luna was just about to gather her strength and get up, but unknowingly heard the whoosh of a flying object coming away.
She then trembled once more and for the final time as she collapsed as her heart was pierced through by the spike.
The long, black spike went all the way through, hitting its targets straight on with no fuss. Lord Chernobog smiled and started to laugh as the last bit of life started to leave Luna’s eyes. Her conscious slowly drifted away and into the next life as her soul left the body cold and empty like a husk. John couldn’t move, and only think the best he could with the random thoughts scouring through his mind.
Lord Chernobog laughed towards the heavens of The Eternal Night sky as he pointed towards John with an unholy grin, “I killed her! What are you going to do now you little pony!? I ended what you loved and now any reason to continue fighting is obliterated! But don’t worry; I can help you join her if you simply sit still.”
John however wasn’t hearing any of his words as his ears went silent. All he could do was staring upon the body of what was once his wife. He was cold, still, unresponsive, and unmoving as his mind went blank. Everything was silent and empty for him as his world started to slowly crumble around him. Soon everything became dark and void of life as his soul started to flee from his body; then there was nothing but a black void of darkness and nothingness. And with that, it seemed like the end, until a burning passion of rage and fury exploded inside of him.
Soon, the power of The King’s Crystal and all of its mystical abilities and energy started to gather energy from all around that it could take as John screamed out into The Eternal Night sky.
He arched out his back, raised both of his hooves up high, and looked deeply into the moon and stars above as he let out a long, uninterrupting blood curdling scream of pain and hatred. All those around him, there was a force of a bright white light that surrounded John in a great radius.
A force pulling in all energy as winds was blowing against the rest. The ponies stared at in awe as the humans stood confused. TK on the other hand knew that John was finally sent over the edge and knew this was his final limit. The white light grew ever so brighter as Lord Chernobog started to tremble amongst the power that he was seeing before him. His jaw dropped as he backed up slowly, trying to gaze upon the power that John was wielding and forming inside of him; as flames of hatred and fury formed in the sky above him. Lord Chernobog could feel it all, the energy, the wind, the pure power of it all; and it was all coming from John.
Lord Chernobog said to himself under his breath, “This can’t be. How is he doing this? HE’S CRAZY!”
After a minute and forty four seconds had passed, John ended his screams and the bright light dimmed down by flickering off within a second, putting the rest in a quick daze. Once they were able to look again, John himself was still hovering in mid-air, yet his body was flamed with fury and power that none had ever seen before. While he didn’t have a look of an angry, despaired pony; he had the passion in his heart to avenge his love that was taken away from him. He then turned his dreadful eyes towards Lord Chernobog as he began to shake where he stood.
He wanted to run away and hide, yet he had to stand his ground and not show weakness. Despite the pain he was feeling in his cracks, he was going to see through the end of this and fight and win.
Lord Chernobog took a step forward and tried to put on a face, “So, is that what you have!? Then let this be it and….”
He wasn’t also allowed to finish as John quickly and without a single doubt in his mind started to fight Lord Chernobog. Faster than he had ever fought before, he rushed and started to land blows on Lord Chernobog’s fragile body one after another. He didn’t let up, and didn’t show any signs of weakness as he landed one hit, powerful and unyielding, one after the other.
Lord Chernobog couldn’t keep track and could only see and feel the flames of what he had created. In his mind, he started to form ideas of regret, yet it was all too late for him to take it all back. John would continue to land a hard blow on all places of his body from his face, chest, legs, back, and even anus for a total of forty three times. For the forty fourth and final blow, John put himself right in front of Lord Chernobog and looked at him in the eyes. Lord Chernobog was beaten down to an inch of his life as did his best to stand. Yet the cracks in his crystal armor began to chip away and fall apart piece by piece, forcing Lord Chernobog to fall to his knees as he couldn’t bear the weight of himself no more.
Lord Chernobog could only look through his eyes as he breathed heavily. His head was broken as his left arm was about to fall off. All the while Lord Chernobog was trying his best to give the puppy dark eyes and plead for mercy.
Lord Chernobog knew this was the end for him, yet just like any other living creature in existence, he pleaded for his life, “Please, don’t end me like this. Please let me die in some other way at least. Let me…. Let me go back and see my home…. One final time before I go. Can you spare it in your heart to do so? Can you let some crazy fool like me have one final chance at peace before I go? Perhaps even let me have a second chance at life even? Maybe you can help me, free me from my prison of the black crystal. It isn’t my fault that I did all of this. You’ve got to believe me. Please…. Please just….”
John didn’t listen to his wail as he flew straight towards his poor attempt at a sad face and upper cut him one last time. Lord Chernobog then fell backward as his black crystal body broke into what seemed like millions of tiny little pieces.
In a brief moment in John’s head, it all went slow and silent as the reign of Lord Chernobog was now over. His body covered the grasslands and fell into obscurity and into the abyss of the universe. Once the moment was over and that he had KO’d his opponent, John’s powers started to dissipate as he landed on the ground on all fours with his black cape landing softly onto his back.
It was as if he was back to his normal self and none of this had happened to begin with. He then turned and looked over at the rest of the ponies and humans as they were all stunned and silent. The ponies then began to cheer in celebration of being freed from their captor and the return of their king. The ponies started to look towards each other and held one another in their arms, knowing that they were safe once more.
Glacio, Ignis, Terra, and Ventus all looked at each other and smiled, knowing that there was a happy end after all. TK looked over to his left and saw all of Lord Chernobog’s minions that hid during the final battle all break into tiny pieces as well, becoming nothing but dust as well. As John stared back at the others with his usual cross-eyed look, he noticed off into the far distance that The Eternal Night was fading away; and in its place, a bright and beautiful early morning dawn was approaching.
The Eternal Night was finally over and the morning sun could come out once again. He then looked over to his poor wife Luna though as he slowly walked over to her lifeless corpse; while everypony else were glad to be alive as they celebrated amongst themselves.
Once John walked up to Luna’s body, he sat down and got close to her one final time. His heart started to skip a beat. For once, his face started to form something different than his usual expression. He started to look a little sad and remorseful. The still dead corpse of something that used to be alive was a bit jarring to see.
Her eyes were still open, almost as if she was going to wake up and say something to him. Yet not a single breathe was released from her soul. She was just that: dead. And nothing was going to bring her back from beyond the grave. John hanged his head low without making a word as his black cape drooped low to the ground.
His precious wife was no more as he would have to be king of Equestria alone now. While everypony celebrated in the distance with cheerful smiles and heart full of wonder, John was the only one in slumber and at a loss. And once again just like in the caves, he was all alone. However, he was not isolated for long. Without a moment’s notice, John was slightly startled as a glittering, sparkling lights started to come out of his body.
John looked around, curious as to what was happening, while going back to his usual look as he had given before. Within seconds, all of the energy came out of his body and out came The King’s Crystal as it floated above John’s head. John looked up; wondering what is was doing as it glistened in the new sunlight.
That was when a hand snatched it out of the sky and Glacio came into view as he said, “I’ll take that.”
Glacio then looked over to TK, “I’ll believe I have to end up my hold of the bargain.”
TK only grunted in approval. He and the others were with him, all smiling and just being glad to know they were not dead and that they were free, except for TK who stood there with his arms crossed while groaning. Glacio looked upon his father’s crystal and saw that part of his dad was still with him.
He smiled and felt as a heavy burden was released from his soul. However, he noticed John was staring down at Luna’s body and started to realize not all was alright. So to show him compassion, Glacio got close to John, kneeled down, and placed his right hand on his back. John felt the slight cold touch and looked up to see his friend smiling a hopeful smile. John simply looked at him with his cross-eyed look like always as he was about to say something.
Glacio however said the first word, “I’m sorry she’s gone. I wish there was a way to bring her back. But I am sure she has gone to a better place beyond all of this. In my universe, we honored our loss and sent them to the stars to join with our ancestors.”
Glacio pointed to the sky, to give visual reference. Glacio continued, “And just knowing that, it gives us comfort knowing that we will join them one day. I’m not sure how your kind does it, but I’m sure you’ll see her one way or another; maybe in your dreams or in another reality. She will always be with you as much as my father was with me.”
Glacio got back up and saw everyone else was there, smiling at him except for TK. They all wished him the best just by their looks on their faces, and even though John could not say it out loud, he was thankful towards them.
Glacio looked over to the distance and saw the rising sun. He closed his eyes and let the warmth of its rays absorb into his body as he smiled and knew no matter what, there was always hope in some form or another. He then looked back to John and knew that their time was up and they needed to get going.
Glacio walked a bit closely to John and said with a sincere goodbye, “Well John, it looks like this is a goodbye. Sorry that this is how we had to meet, but we must be going back. If you ever feel like it, you are always welcome in our lands. I just want to say though, you are a True King.”
Glacio then started to walk away, signaling the others to say their goodbyes as well as they headed towards the sunset in the distance.
Ignis went up to John with a grin as he tried to rub his mane, “I’ve got to say, I didn’t expect that you were able to pull it off. In all of the people and animals I have met and fought alongside, you’re the toughest pony that I know. If you ever feel like it, you and I could spar with each other, if you think you can handle it.”
Terra then looked at Ignis annoyed, “Oh don’t be such a hot head. You know he would beat you.”
Before Ignis took off to Glacio, he pointed at Terra with a slight mocking smile, “Don’t listen to her, I’m still the strongest.”
Terra then shoved Ignis away, “Get out of here!”
Ignis waved at John as he was catching up to Glacio, “See ya John!”
Terra shook her head yet, with a soft smile on her face. She then turned attention to John and kneeled down a little.
She then gave him a hug as she said softly, “Thanks for everything John. We couldn’t have done this without you.”
She let John go and gave a remorseful goodbye, “Well, this is where I’d say goodbye. But hopefully we can see each other one day. Thanks again for all that you did.”
She then quickly got up and started to hustle towards the others as she waved John goodbye silently. Ventus was next as he twirled with his thumbs around.
Ventus was a little sad and couldn’t look John in the eyes, “We-Well John. I-I-I guess this is….”
Ventus broke down and gave an even bigger and tighter hug than his sister to John.
John struggled a bit, yet started to relax as Ventus said into his ears, “I’ll never forget you John. Despite the scary moments, I’m glad I came. And thanks for showing me for who I truly am. You were a good friend to me. Well, I-I guess I’ve got to go now. See you around?”
Ventus eased off the hug and looked at him in the eyes, waiting for a response. A few seconds of silence passed, but John did not say a word and only stared at him crossed eyes. Yet with no movement or formation of words coming from his mouth, Ventus could see that John would see him again one day. They had a bond after all from their travels. Ventus knew deep inside their friendship would last even universes apart.
Ventus smiled and softly spoke, “I’ll take that as a yes.”
Ventus then got up and started walking off into the distance.
He then stopped in his tracks, turned around and said one last time while awkwardly waving, “Goodbye John. I’ll miss you.”
Ventus then went to go with his friends. John saw him run off with the others as they all walked towards the sunset off into the far distance near the hills. John felt like he wanted to start shredding tears, yet that was interrupted as TK stood right next to John. TK sternly looked down on John as he could feel his piercing stare at him.
John looked at him with neither of the two saying a single word. TK’s cape flowed as a slight breezed flew by as John’s mane and cape did the same. Without a word, TK grunted and nodded in approval towards John. TK then walked off to join the others as John was once again all alone.
John sat there as he saw The Knights of John walk off into the distance. And as they walked further and further, John just sat there, seeing an end to a journey and an end to the band of heroes. John would sit there until they became tiny little specks in the far off distance. And soon, they were gone, almost as if they were just a dream or just his imagination. John was all alone with the corpse of his beloved Luna.
However all of a sudden, John was then greeted by his subjects as the many ponies that survived Cantorlot’s takeover all came over to greet and cheer on their king that saved them. As a large group of ponies came over to John and surrounded him, everypony was jumping and celebrating despite their bruises and cuts.
A random stallion came up to John with a dark blue coat and white mane and said with a gleeful smile, “HOORAY! OUR KING JOHN SAVED US!”
A random mare in the back yelled out, “CHEERS FOR KING JOHN!”
Everypony in the crowd said in unison, “HERE HERE FOR KING JOHN!”
Yet despite the praise, John kept looking off into the distance and thinking about something.
The stallion near John then asked him, “So what are your orders now your majesty?”
Yet John didn’t respond. Instead John got up and started to walk away from all of them and towards the town instead. When he walked away, everypony was confused as they looked at each other with dumbfounded looks on their faces.
The random stallion said, “J-John? You highness?”
John however didn’t respond back, he simply walked away. He got far away from the castle and back into the town of Cantorlot itself. He walked by as everypony tried to get on with their lives. He looked around and started to remember something, yet he kept heading straight forward. He eventually made his way to the train station and saw an open car for a train that was about to take off back to Ponyville. He boarded the train as the one of a handful of souls on it as the train conductor blew the whistle, signaling for takeoff. John found himself a seat by the window.
He was mostly by himself in the train car with one pony that happened to be a bum sleeping on the far end of the car. John sat down and placed his face near the window. Once the train jutted and started to move, John just stared out the window without a word. As the train rolled on and moved through the lands, the memories all started to flood back into John’s mind as the train moved forward. He reflected on his past journeys as he took in the moment and remained deep within his mind.
He started to remember when he first woke up and saw that his old wife didn’t make him any toast and that he bashed her head in with a toaster. He then remembered the adventure that he had in Ponyville as he met all of the Elements of Harmony, one-by-one, and doing wonderful things with them. He remembered those sweet memories as he stared out the window. Through the glass, he thought he could see those memories rush by him, almost as if it was film of his past memories being projected for him. He had no words, yet he wanted to hold on to those precious moments of his.
He didn’t want to forget a single one. He then remembered the time when he received a magical golden ticket and was able to visit Cantorlot. There, he had even more adventures, did things that he thought was a fever dream like meeting a human named Leonardo Di Caprio, but it turned out that was just a false memory.
However he remembered when he went to the stage play and visited fancy places. He even remembered the first time when he met his lovely wife Luna and when their eyes both met each other. It was a beautiful moment as Celestia and Cadence both blessed their marriage as John became King. And now he had new memories to add to his collection.
It was all bitter-sweet and he didn’t want it to all end. Yet here he was, at a journey’s end and with nothing else to say. Deep down inside, he wanted to cry and plead for those memories to come back; to relive it all. Yet in his soul, he had to keep moving forward long with time itself.
As the memories stopped coming, it was starting to become night time once more. The sun was going down in the distance as the train arrived in Ponyville. John got off the train and walked into Ponyville once more, almost as if it was untouched by the reign of Lord Chernobog the entire time. As John continued to walk, he saw in the distance the dusk in the sky. It was getting late once more, but this time not eternal.
As John walked into town, he happened to walk by a familiar dirty white van with some rummaging going on inside of it.
As he was walking past it, he stopped in his tracks as the dirty white van door opened and Robot Michael Jackson’s head popped out, “Oh hello there little girl. HE HE! You look like you’re lost. It’s getting late. HE! HE! HE! HE! Do you want stay in my van tonight? I have a lot of “games” we can play. I even have a friend for you to play with.”
Robot Michael Jackson then opened the van door some more despite John having his back turned to him. Revealed inside was Spike playing on a small table a game of Uno with Robot Michael Jackson and unharmed. He was even a little stoned too.
He looked over to John and said, “Oh hey man, it’s you again. Hey, you want to play Uno with me and this black robot thing? It’s pretty fun. He’s been beating me though like nine times out of ten. He’s pretty good at Uno but still fun to play with man. Hey, did you see Twilight; I think I need to ask her dead body about something.”
Robot Michael Jackson said to John still with his back turned, “HEHEHEHEHEHE! So what do you say their little doggy, you want to play with me and Spike?”
John did not say a word and instead turned his neck around with his crossed-eyes and stared at Robot Michael Jackson for a few seconds with no real indication what he was trying to say.
After a moment had passed, Robot Michel Jackson’s face turned into terror as he yelled out, “OH SHIT! YOU’RE A COP!”
Robot Michael Jackson then took Spike and tossed him out the dirty white van and drove off somewhere off into the distance where dancing Twinkies were fighting a hoagie to death.
As soon as Spike got up, John stared at him as Spike looked at John funny, “Hey man… how you’re doing?”
Spike then smiled and was never heard from again. As John moved on from that moment, he walked back to his farm somewhere off the edge of Ponyville. He was all by himself and his thoughts as the dusk turned into what used to be Luna’s night sky. As John found his way back to his farm, he looked up towards the night sky, thinking if she was up there somewhere. John then walked into his farm house.
As he entered, the dead body of his old wife that he’d beaten with a toaster because she didn’t fix his toast that one morning was still there; rotting away as maggots came out of her eye sockets. John did not pay mind though as he simply walked past her corpse and walked back up stairs. He then went into his bedroom where the chicken that came from out of his mouth was still there, yet dead from starvation.
John, even with his black cape symbolizing his royalty still on, climbed into the bed all alone, as the crickets chirped into the night.
John closed his eyes and started to go to another realm in his mind. As he was dreaming, he was all alone in a void filled with a moon and dust and stars surrounding him. He looked around, curious as to where he was.
He then felt a gentle tap on his right shoulder as he turned around to see his precious wife Luna alive once more in the flesh. She smiled at him as she they both gave each other a hug. They stared into each other’s eyes and were in a trance. No words were exchanged as Luna had a tear form in her eyes as she was happy to be within his embrace. John was happy too as he finally got to see her again.
John then knocked Luna unconscious, chopped off, and ate her legs.
He was finally satisfied.
The End.
Author's Note
Author’s Note: After 11 years, I finally finished the third one in the trilogy. I never thought I’d see the day. Well, I hope you all enjoyed the last of the trilogy. And so I’m sure you might be wondering, will there be a 4th one? Well YES and NO. No in terms of an official “A Random My Little Pony Fan Fiction Story 4”, BUT John will be back in an unofficial A Random My Little Pony Fan Fiction Story 4 of sorts. It will be in the story, My Little Pony: Universal Magic: Season 4: Episode 89: A Pony Named John Dies At The End. I’ll let you figure out what happens to John in that one. And there will be also 5th one as well technically speaking, depending on how you want to see it; as John will be in Season 14: Episode 334: The Elements of Secondary. He in a sense will be in a new trilogy with new friends. So if you want to see more of John, he’ll be in those, but it won’t be for a long, long, long, long time. So instead, just check out the Outline for it until then.
