The new kid from Cloudsdale
Sunset Shimmer was pacing back and forth in the Library while her friends were sitting around. She wore a blazer with a stylish blouse underneath. She also had on a pair of slim-fitting jeans and stylish sneakers. The former had called them over because she wanted to discuss what she had saw.
"She was definitely doing something to the statue, or was going to," Sunset said.
"Do you think she came through the portal from Equestria?" Fluttershy asked. She was the girl with long wavy pink hair that cascades down her back, primarily styled in a pale yellow color that gradually transitions into a lighter blonde shade toward the ends. She donned a pale pink knee-length dress in pastel hues adorned with butterflies. She also wore a Thin belt around her waist, featuring a dainty bow and low-heeled shoes.
"No I think I would have noticed that," Sunset replied. "I think she was from over here."
"Well that's a relief. The last thing we need is a crazy magical lunatic coming over here bent on world domination," The girl with the stetson hat chuckled. She wore a checkered button-down shirt, denim shorts, and cowgirl boots. Her name was AppleJack. Sunset smiled at the comment and Rarity took the time to put out her own opinion. The latter wore a stylish knee-length dress made of fine fabric and is complemented by accessories like a chic belt to accentuate her waist. She also She adorns herself with exquisite jewelry, such as earrings, necklaces, and bracelets and her hair is styled in a fashionable manner, with curls or an elaborate updo.
"Agreed, I have no interest in the fight against evil magic. The wear and tear of my wardrobe is just too much to keep up with!"
"But still, wouldn't it be cool to know what she was up to?" Sunset inquired.
"Oh I don't even wanna guess," Fluttershy said with a shiver down her spine.
"Well you don't have to, cause I totally figured out who it was!" Rainbow Dash said. Her wardrobe consisted of a colorful graphic tank top paired with matching sporty shorts with shades of blue, yellow, and rainbow patterns and athletic sneakers.
"Ooh, ooh! A nighttime statue cleaner? A magical portal maintenance maintainer? A gardener?!" Pinkie guessed. The girl wore a colorful skirt with polka dots and her shirt was adorned with pictures of cupcakes. She also had on a colorful headband and matching shoes.
Rainbow Dash slowly pushed Pinkie away. "Seeing as how they got off from a bus from the city and headed back on the bus to the city, I'll bet they go to..."
"Crystal Prep." All the girls except Sunset said though no one seemed very enthusiastic about it. Not even Pinkie Pie.
"Yep! With the Friendship Games happening tomorrow, they'd totally try to prank us by defacing the wondercolt statue!"
"Why would anyone take a bus from the city all the way here for that?" Sunset wondered.
"Because that's what the students at Crystal Prep would do?" Rarity scoffed.
"Because the Crystal Prep Shadowbolts are our biggest rivals?" AppleJack added.
"Because even though they beat us in everything – soccer, tennis, golf – they still have to gloat!" Rainbow groaned.
"I'm sorry I got lost when you mentioned something about the Friendship Games," Sunset said. "I have no idea what that is."
"Oh you've never been in one," Rainbow realized. "So it's basically an academic and sporting event that we have that have us compete against other schools. Right now we're not doing so hot because Crystal Prep keeps kicking our butts every game."
"So you're saying that you've never won against Crystal Prep?" Sunset asked.
"Mhm. And no other school has beaten them either."
Fluttershy's eyes suddenly went wide. "Wait, Rainbow but what about Cloudsdale?"
"Except for Cloudsdale," Rainbow replied. She figured she owed Sunset an explanation. "Fluttershy and I attended Cloudsdale High during our freshmen and sophomore year before moving here and during those times neither of us competed in the Friendship Games but if you saw them, Sunset you would see just how cracked they are because I can guarantee they completely shattered Crystal Prep's ego like a broken vase."
"I'm sure that was just one time." Sunset responded.
"No, Sunset. It was not just the time Fluttershy and I watched. I looked at the trophy case and it was the same thing every games."
Sunset was a bit shocked by this. "Did you know any competitors?"
"I did know a few. One of them, her name is Lightning Dust. We were good friends and she was considered one of the best of all time." I heard she just moved away and is now at Manehattan but she her skills were something else. Everyone misses her, heck even I still do."
"So Cloudsdale is one of the best."
"That's right. Crystal Prep has won about maybe 20 games and Cloudsdale about 21."
"That's only one more, it's not that big of a deal," Sunset pointed out.
"That's just In the District, Sunset. Cloudsdale has won literally 25 in the state and is considered one of the top in our Region. Guess how many games Crystal Prep won in the state?"
"I don't know," Sunset shrugged.
"I'll give you a hint. It's the number before "one".
"Zero."
"Ding ding! see what I'm saying? The Cloudsdale High team are insane. In fact, only two other schools have managed to beat them. Appleloosa and Fillydephia High and out of those two, only Appleloosa was able to crush them at a score of 3-0.
"wow that is insane," Sunset said. "And to think we never won against Crystal Prep."
Sunset Shimmer would you please report to the Principal's office? the voice of Vice Principal Luna announced through the intercom.
"I wonder what they need you for?" AppleJack wondered.
"If I had to guess I think a new student just moved here and they want me to give him or her a tour." Sunset replied as she started to leave. "I'll catch you guys later."
"Cya!" they all said as Sunset left.
Sunset walked into the Principal's Office and sure enough she was right. Sitting in one of the chairs was a boy she did not recognize from here. He had light brown hair and wore a light gray jacket with black wavy patterns on the sides along with a pair of athletic shorts and tennis shoes. He also wore a silver wrist watch on his right wrist. Sunset beamed at the boy as she went up to him.
"Hi there! Are you new here?"
"I am and it's my first day. Name's Ice Wing" He said in a friendly tone. Sunset and Ice shook hands as the firehead introduced herself.
"My name is Sunset Shimmer so where are you from?"
"I just moved from Cloudsdale High. It's a bit of a drive if you ask me."
"Wait...you mean The Cloudsdale High?"
"Yes. I'm pretty sure there is just one Cloudsdale High," Ice chuckled.
"So this might sound a little out of the blue but do you happen to know anything regarding the Friendship Games?" Sunset questioned.
"I do. I'm was actually one of the competitors. Why?"
What?! this is insane! Someone from one of the best schools is here!
"Oh well some of my friends are actually talking about your old school. Hey how about I introduce you them. I promise you'll like them." Sunset suggested.
"I don't see why not. lead the way," Ice smiled back.
At the Library, Sunset went back to where her friends were at who will still all there. Ice Wing followed behind.
"Hey, Sunset you back already?" AppleJack asked.
"I haven't given him a tour yet but I figured you could meet him first."
Ice Wing took a step forward and introduced himself to Sunset's friends. "Hey everyone. My name's-"
"VENOM?!" Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy gasped.
"Rainbow Dash?! Fluttershy?!" Ice Wing also gasped.
"You guys know each other?" Sunset asked a bit shocked. "And I thought your name was Ice Wing?"
"To answer your first question Fluttershy, Rainbow and I knew each other during our first couple years in Cloudsdale before they moved away. And for the second one, Ice Wing is my real name but "Venom" was a nickname given to me by Lightning Dust."
"Are you like any good?"
"Sunset, calling him "good" is almost insulting!" Rainbow said as if Sunset just offended her. "You're looking at the guy who traumatized all the Shadow Bolts! Hold on lemme put it this way. You know, Soarin right?"
"Yeah, not on a personal level but we talk sometimes in the halls during passing period."
"Now would you say Soarin is cracked in sports?"
"Yea, he's really good. Insane actually."
"Okay, Sunset. Now imagine then crank up the skill by one hundred. That's Venom."
"Come on, Rainbow it's not really a huge deal." Venom said with a slight smile. "And I'm not the absolute best. I still get beaten by the Appleloosa and Fillydelphia team."
"Nah you're a beast, dude! Your skill still outweighs the majority of schools in our country!" Rainbow beamed.
"I suppose you're right," Venom agreed. "Anyway what are your names?" he asked the other girls who weren't Fluttershy or Rainbow Dash.
"I'm Rarity. I am a fashion designer so I make all sorts of clothes and accessories. Speaking of which, darling I must say that jacket your wearing looks absolutley marvelous!"
"Oh thanks. This was actually a gift from one of my friends back from Cloudsdale. He's also a fashion designer believe it or not."
Rarity walked around to examine his jacket until she stopped when she saw something written on the back of his jacket. "What does this say? 'Easy Shadow Bolts,' She read allowed.
Rainbow Dash suddenly burst out laughing. "What?! Hold on I gotta take a look." She went behind Venom to see for herself. "Oh my gosh it actually says that!" she laughed even harder and Venom couldn't contain himself and started to laugh too.
"Okay so this jacket you girls are really going to enjoy hearing how I got it. So you know how I said this was a gift from my friend?"
Sunset and her friends nodded.
"Well the reason why he made it for me was because of the time I shattered Crystal Prep's ego. It was right after our match and when they came up it was anything but to congratulate me. They told me I was only good with a team so they challenged me one on one each of them."
"I bet they got embarrassed real bad," Rainbow guessed.
"Mhm. Fast forward the next day and we were all at the local field. My friend who made this jacket was also there to make sure no one was cheating. Long story short they got embarrassed real fast in fact give me the names and I'll tell you the scores."
"Lemon Zest," Rainbow said.
"10-2"
"Sugar Coat"
"10-1"
"Sunny Flare"
"10-4."
"Indigo Zap"
"10-3"
"Sour Sweet"
"We actually never got to finish. She rage quitted like when I was on 5-0 and started to get mad. Said I was cheating which of course wasn't true because my friend was watching the whole time."
"No way you actually made one of them rage quit!" Rainbow laughed. "Wait what about the guys?"
"They were there too and you would assume they would have done better than the girls but no they were so much worse. Give me the names again and I'll tell you the scores."
"Jet Set"
"10-0"
"Neon Lights"
"10-0"
"Tenderhoof"
"10-0"
"Royal Pin"
"10-0"
"Wait, so none of the guys scored a point on you," Rainbow said in disbelief. "They're some of the top players in their school how did they not score one point?"
"Believe me, Rainbow I am just as shocked as you are."
"Did they at least say 'good game?" Fluttershy quietly asked.
"Unfortunately, Fluttershy, they were not saying good game. Instead they made some not so friendly comments. Tenderhoof I remember said I had no life and nothing better to do.
"That sounds like a typical excuse from someone who loses," Sunset remarked.
"That was all their excuses," Venom said. "They all called me garbage, but in the end I sliced their egos like fruit ninja."
Sunset laughed and so did the other girls.
"So that's the story of my jacket. My friend made it and gave it to me the next day and I've worn it ever since," Venom smiled.
