Welcome to Equestria, land of beauty, magic, and monsters... yes, monsters, who leave in peace amongst each other, ever since the end of the great clan war.

In this land exists the town of Ponyville, a small town, a 45 minute train ride away from Canterlot, and one of the most important town in the Canterlot kingdom, as it possesses the only "Power Crystal" mine in so close to the capital.

Now, being a gem hunter is hard work, lonely work, not to mention dangerous, now, add the fact that you are the only person brave enough to go looking for the "Power Crystal" this world really needs, and well, you can start to feel isolated, weather and loneliness seem to be a bigger problem than this, but, if thieves or enemy soldiers dare show up, he will be sure not to go out without a fight, it is the dragon way anyway.

Well, insert Spike, the town's resident Vampire Dragon, in his youth he was scene as just someone else that lived in town, but, that all changed the day Ponyville was under attack, not carrying about his own safety, Spike rushed out to the hills and fought the enemy on his own, winning and earning the title of "Ponyville's protector".

However, this caused a shift, not only within the town, but also, within Spike, his usual friendly and approchable personality, was replaced with a silent and stoic one, making some people fear him.

Not wanting to be a bother for anyone else, he decided to build himself a house, near the outskirts of town and the mine, and live a quiet and solitary life... which he was fine with, honestly he knew it was for the best, even if it made him feel empty within.

At the same time, our young hero is about to realise, he isn't the only one that gets lonely... and one former friend's badly planned idea, was going to set into motion a series of events, that not even Spike himself could've expected.
