Spike grabbed the antennas on his TV trying to fix his signal, he heard that Rarity his marefriend had gotten a job as news reporter a few weeks ago and today she has a crazy report, he didn't read anything about it so he wouldn't ruin the surprise but right now he seem to be having trouble with his TV.
The dragon fiddled around with the antennas and eventually both the sound of the static and the static itself disappeared. When then climbed into his chair and pulled back the lever but when he did the chair leaned back all they way. When he pulled it forward he got squished between the cushion he was sitting on and the cushions in the back of the chair.
He kept on pulling the lever back and forth and eventually having enough of this he settled on being squished between 2 cushions before grabbing the remote except when he turned the TV on it sparked and then smoke came out indicating that it had busted a fuse.
"Didn't think my bad luck was this bad" he muttered pulling climbing out the chair and pulling out his phone then trying to find a free streaming site the first results he found were paid, a few pages later the results turned into guides and where to watch, eventually he found a free streaming site that has a lot of pop up ads.
Getting angry he then threw his phone into a nearby fishbowl only to realize his mistake a few seconds later and when he took his phone out it he was very thankful it still worked.
Spike checked his wrist watch and realized he still had 15 minutes until the news and some extra time until Rairty's report. "If I can't watch Rarity's report on my TV or phone where else can I watch" the dragon first though of Twilight, Pinkie or Fluttershy but then realized that they were all out of town for today.
He then thought of his dragon friend The Practical Dragon one of the Three Young Creatures, since the place where the creatures lived didn't have a address he grabbed a map out of a drawer and unfolded it, which had a trail that led to the trio's house.
"Not use to using maps" Spike claimed after getting lost a few times and a few mix ups, he eventually found the bridge that led to the hill of the stones and rocks house was on something else he found in the distance was the remains of the clams and shell house and the crystal and shards house.
When he knocked on the door a pink female non-anthro hippogriff answered it then looked at everything except him "Oh hey, Practical told me about you, come in!"
When Spike walked inside he found the place a lot more technologically advanced while most of the house was still one room it had a carpet and a lot more furniture than just a piano, bed and a fireplace, it now had a few plants drawers and a TV but most importantly it had a small second room which Practical was currently working in, it had 2 machines one with a big screen and the other seem to pour stuff out.
When he sat down on the couch he found the hippogriff laughing at the TV and when he looked at the screen what she seem to be laughing at was looped footage of fish swimming in a fish tank. He grabbed the remote and turned the TV off only for the hippogriff to grab it back getting angry Spike grabs it but this result in a tug of war between the 2 creatures which ends with them launching the remote out a window and into a muddy puddle.
"Now look what you've done!" Spike said angrily pointing at her acting like he wasn't part of the problem "Eh it happens Snorkler and Miner always break stuff which is why i make a spare of everything in this house, although i'm not sure this model works." Practical said examining the spare remote before handing it to Spike.
This remote didn't look like a normal remote it only had 2 buttons on it a green and red one, he pressed the green button, but this didn't turn the TV on he tried pressing it a few more times to no avail, he the pressed the red button thinking at it might be the on/off button but that didn't work either.
He went back to pressing the green one and at some point it popped off and fell directly into the dragon's throat, luckily before he could start seriously choking Snorkler grabbed his neck which shot the button out where it hit the on button on the TV and conveniently the channel flips to the news.
"YOU-!" Spike trails off angrily holding a fist in front of the hippogriff "Now watch this exclusive report from Rarity our famous reporter" the news anchor said as Practical walked over and sat down on the couch with a bowl of crystal/gem bites which were just normal gems and crystal cut up into small pieces.
"Thank you Sea Anchor, I'm currently reporting live from Grogar lair now that i've finally found a way into his temple we will see what his plans are for Equestria" Rarity said as the 2 dragons and hippogriff leaned closer "Although we can hear him from hear i'll try to get as close as I can without being seen." She then looked behind the wall and brought the camera ovr which made the trio get anxious.
"Looks there he is and he seems to be working on a strange machine." the unicorn said the camera zooming in on Grogar, the said machine the goat was working on the first half of it seem to have a massive ray gun on it and the second half had a a chute that dispensed something.
"WHO'S THERE!" Grogar yelled which made Rarity retreat behind the wall but it was too late as he had already spotted her, he then jumped over to where she was and picked her up in his magic grasp the camera and then her mic fell followed by the camera cutting off and showing a please stand by screen which left the creatures completely shocked.
"Rarity's in danger...I'M GONNA-" Spike was then rudely interrupted by Snorkler-Griff snatching the remote causing him to land head first into Practical's bowl of crystal/gem bites, he got up got angry at the hippogriff, took the bowl off his head revealing his head coated in small crystal/gem pieces, and threw the bowl into the ground shattering it too piece.
Once he shook the bites off his head he muttered something angrily "Rarity's in trouble and i'm gonna rescue her!" Spike stated before giving the hippogriff and electric stare (i guess)
"Don't worry Spike I can help you reach Grogar's lair with my...Practical Gamma Teleporter 2.0!" the dragoness then pressed a button which turned on the machine and all it's lights.
"Oh shiny let me touch it!" Snorkler exclaimed flying over to the target before placing a claw on the helmet part of the machine only to be briefly electrocuted and then teleported away "Hey i wasn't done explaining" Practical complained as for Spike he frowned and draped his arms down.
"Right now my machine doesn't have enough power to sent you directly to Grogar's lair I gonna need your help" the dragoness stated "For Rarity YOU BET!" Spike said giving a salute.
"Like I said my Practical Gamma Teleporter 2.0 doesn't have enough power to send you to Grogar's lair, we need the power of gamma rays, these rays are only found at the highest summits of each place in Equestria, to collect them you have to place a gamma-weather vane at the summits, my father was the only ever dragon or even creature to try this experiment and shortly after he did he dismantled each vane and hid the parts in each kingdom...easy right!" Practical asked
"As of right now my machine's only powerful enough to sent you to Ponyville just make your way through the place and find the pieces of the first weather vane and once you have all the parts make it too the highest summit...well good luck Spike!" Practical concluded, Spike then walked over to the target and cautiously placed his head into the helmet above it which briefly electrocuted and then teleported him away.
The dragon found himself traveling through a tube while it was big enough to squeeze for him to squeeze through it cramped him in, the next thing he knew he was in a room it had with 4 different capsules, he assumed that the first 3 led to a different part of Ponyville where he would find a part of the weather vane and the last one would led him to the highest summit of Ponyville.
