"I do" said Rarity "you may now kiss the bride" replied Celestia, and so her and spike did "i now pronounce you husband and wife" Celestia finished, it had been a little over a year and a half since her and Spike had started dating and now she was finally married to him and she couldn't be happier

"Good morning beautiful" Spike said to Rarity who just groaned and rolled over, it had been six months since there wedding and Rarity had been busy as usual creating dresses for the upper crust of canterlot in fact today was a special day not only it was the sixth month anniversary of their marriage, but a high profile rock star had ordered a special dress for his wife and that high profile rock star just happened to be David neighman, and it was supposed to be delivered to Canterlot today. Spike got out of bed, got dressed and went downstairs to make Rarity her favorite breakfast, blueberry pancakes. It had been eerily quiet since sweetie belle moved out two years ago to pursue her music career. The pancakes were soon done and Spike heard Rarity walk down the stairs he smiled gently as his beautiful wife sat down to eat, after the meal she packed up the dress and got ready to leave "are you sure I can't come with you?" Spike asked

"Sorry dear but this is strictly a business trip besides I have a little something special for you when I get back" Rarity cooed Spike grinned as his wife left the shop to catch the early train to Canterlot after all it was a six hour ride there.

Twenty four hours passed and Spike was getting worried Rarity should have been home around midnight of the night she left and here it was noon of the second day, when he got a call from twilight telling him that the Canterlot ER called her and told her that Rarity had been attacked and he was needed. Spike hastily packed a bag and flew to Canterlot as it was faster than the train he made the flight in only four hours but by the time he got to the ER he was exhausted but he didn't stop he made his way to the Canterlot general hospital (the only hospital in town) and when he entered he was greeted by the receptionist and when he asked about Rarity she picked up a nearby phone and asked for a Dr. Longfeather over the PA system within a minute or two a chestnut haired pegasus doctor emerged from the depths of the hospital and told him that Rarity is in surgery at the moment and he'll know more once the surgery is done.

hours later a doctor approaches spike and tells him that they need to talk in private leading him to a small room the doctor tells him "I'm sorry for your loss but you daughter didn't make it and your wife is in a coma" Spike looked confused

"what do you mean daughter?" He asked thoroughly confused

"your wife was four months pregnant" the doc told him, Spike's eyes went wide "and unfortunately due to the severity of the attack she endured the child didn't make it and judging by the look on your face I take it you didn't know she was pregnant" he finished

"s-she told me that she had a surprise for me and was going to show it to me once she got home" Spike said "do you know who did this?" He asked

"unfortunately not, all we know is that you wife was beaten within an inch of her life and left for dead as well as violently raped, if it wasn't for a kindly man alerting the police she wouldn't have survived the man in question was an ex paramedic who managed to help stabilize your wife until the ambulance got there, Rarity owes him her life" the doc explained "so what's his name I'm going to want to thank him" spike asked "Samuel longmane, he's actually in the waiting room right now i believe" the doctor said leading him back to the waiting room and quickly looking around before pointing to a scruffy looking man sitting in the corner Spike thanked the doc before approaching the man in question and asking "are you Samuel Longmane?" Samuel simply nodded "I want to thank you for saving my wife's life" spike told him

Samuel gently smiled and said "my pleasure, how is your wife doing anyways the doctors won't tell me anything"

"She's going to be fine" Spike said, relaying to Samuel what the doctor told him. Samuel looked depressed "I'm sorry for your loss" he said "look I know what your going through I've been there myself, you may not believe a bum like me but i once had a wife once upon a time and and our firstborn child, foust bless her soul, was stillborn, I was devastated" he explained Spike nodded understandingly

"Did you see who attacked my wife?" Spike asked

"I'm sorry but I didn't I heard a woman crying out but by the time I got to the scene the attacker had escaped I immediately got a police officer on the scene and provided what little care I could until the ambulance got there" Samuel explained

"According to the doctor she wouldn't have survived if it wasn't for you so I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, and how did you become homeless in the first place? I heard you were a paramedic at one time and from what I heard paramedics get paid fairly handsomely" Spike asked

"Yeah they do around $20 an hour but on one run I made a rookie mistake that cost the life of a well known singer after that I was fired and I fell into debt, I lost the house, my wife divorced me and I ended up on the streets but don't worry about me I would worry about finding the one who attacked your wife" Samuel told him

"Don't worry I will as soon as I blow off some steam" Spike said he quickly left the hospital and made his way to canterlot castle into the dungeon, to the danger chamber a room attached to a highly sophisticated computer the computer could replicate any weather system, create virtual armys with soldiers made of holograms and force fields and many other things inside the danger chamber room, as he booted up the danger chamber computer two guards tried to stop him but once they saw the look in his eyes they quickly backed off Spike set up the room to create an army of ten thousand soldiers once they were all killed ten thousand more would spawn in repeating the process multiple times spike pressed the activation key and entered the danger chamber and completely let loose slaughtering everything that moved using claws, his fire breath and even some dragon magic, one guard watched in horror as the other one went to get princess Luna, once every last soldier was dead Spike went to leave when he heard a familiar voice call out "leaving so soon?" Spike turned around and saw prince Blueblood standing on a nearby hill holding a sword that seemed to be covered in glowing runes "I heard through the grapevine your wife was attacked and killed recently" he said

"I don't know how you heard about it but yes Rarity was attacked and left for dead, thankfully a kindly stranger helped call an ambulance and even provided medical care until the ambulance got there saving her life" Spike explained

"huh I guess I'll have to try harder next time" Blueblood said

"what are you talking about trying harder next time?" The purple dragon asked

"Well who do you think attacked her?" Blueblood boasted, smiling "she made me look like a fool in front of everyone at the last gala so I had to have my revenge, so I bided my time until I could get to her, and when I learned she married you of all people I was furious, a beautiful and sophisticated woman like her marrying a scaly freak like you just made my blood boil so I attacked her and planted my seed in her so at least she could have a normal baby instead of whatever monstrosity she Was carrying"

It was then something inside Spike snapped he roared and charged Blueblood ready to tear him apart the prince reciprocated it charging Spike, sword outstretched, with blinding speed they charged each other and Just before they crashed into each other both swing but there is no great clash of metal and claw. Only silence as their momentum carried both of them past the other seemingly both missed their attack when suddenly with a pop Spikes left arm is cleanly severed at the shoulder landing with a thud, spike staggered eyes wide in pain before Spike registered what happened Blueblood charged again slashing his achilles tendons driving Spike to his knees "well that was easy" the prince said sliding to a stop, grinning "you're probably asking yourself how i cut through your hide, well the answer is simple this here sword was enchanted by Star Swirled the bearded to help kill dragons during the last great war it's embed with the power of the sun so any wound it makes is cauterized instantly which is why your still alive after i removed your arm, so, any last words before your head rolls across the floor?"

"I win" was Spike's reply

"Excuse me?" Blueblood asked

"I win, if you kill me, I'll go to Paradise" Spike said with a small smile

"You do realize that once your dead I'm going to finish off Rarity" Blueblood replied

"Go ahead then I'll meet her in paradise, if you decide not to kill her your crime will be revealed to all of equestria the same if you spare me and kill her either way I win!" Spike said with a laugh, Blueblood's blood boiled as he lifted the sword to decapitate his victim but the sword never made contact with his neck as Spike held up his hand catching the blade between his fingers easily cutting though and stopping once it hit his wrist bones spike screeched in pain but was able to pull the sword out of the hands of his foe and slinged it away before grabbing Blueblood on a headlock, Spike never saw him pull a knife until it was imbedded in his belly, as Blueblood yanked the knife to the side gutting him, but Spike held on to his foe, kissing him square on the lips taking as deep of a breath as he could before breathing fire down Blueblood's throat cooking him from the inside as Blueblood convulsed, Spike didn't stop until Blueblood's abdomen burst spraying steaming entrails onto the ground before dropping him and collapsing himself, passing out from the pain. His next thought was Where is this bright light coming from is this paradise? he thought as he raised his arm to block it out once his eyes were adjusted to the light he discovered that he wasn't in fact in paradise after all but a hospital room and the light in question was coming from a nearby window he looked around and saw Twilight (the closest thing he had to a mother) sitting in a chair in the corner of the room "Twilight?" Spike called out weakly Twilight perked up looking over at Spike "Spike you're awake!" She cried rushing over and hugging him

"I thought I was going to lose you" Twilight said, Spike looked himself over only to find that he was fine, his arm had been reattached and his belly was unmarked and all without scaring "how am I healed there are no scars and dragons are naturally resistant to magic?" Spike asked the purple alicorn

"resistant not immune, and Luna healed you, you're in the canterlot castle infirmary right now" Twilight explained

" And be glad you're not going to be executed" Twilight said

"What do you mean, what did I do to deserve being executed?" The purple dragon asked

"Simple once celestia heard that Blueblood was killed she was furious and wanted you charged with first degree murder thankfully Luna showed Celestia the tape of the fight between you and Blueblood including his confession and showed her that you were acting in self preservation and therefore are not guilty of murder it's akin to you shooting someone if they break into your house and you know they have a gun, thankfully Celestia accepted that and the charges were dropped" Twilight explained, Spike was shocked

"I-Is Rarity ok?" He asked

"She's awake and recovering nicely, physically anyway" Twilight answered

"She's awake, how long was I out?" He asked

"A week" twilight told him, Spike's eyes went wide

"I was unconscious for a week" he asked shocked, Twilight nodded "when can I see her again?" He finished

"Once you can walk again you can visit her since Blueblood slashed your achilles tendons, we don't know if you'll be able to walk without practice or relearning how to walk even though Luna healed you!" Twilight explained Spike sat up and swung his legs over the side of the bed and despite Twilight's protests got up and walked, he was wobbly at first but managed to walk across the room on his own, Spike grinned and said "let's go see Rarity!"

"Alright let's go but you will thank Luna for saving you, twice" Twilight reminded him

"Don't worry I will" he called walking out the door of the room he was in Twilight following behind. they caught a cab to the canterlot hospital and walked inside and asked the receptionist which room Rarity was in, as they headed there Twilight caught Spike up on what had happened in the week he was out which unsurprising wasn't much other than Rarity waking up and luna accelerating Rarity's natural healing factor ,soon they were at her door, Spike nervously opened it and walked in "R-Rarity?" He called from the doorway

"Spike is that you?" Came Rarity's voice, Spike rushed the bed and wrapped her in a gentle embrace "I thought I'd never see you again" he said starting to cry

"It's ok Spike I'm going to be okay" she said hugging him back gently rubbing his back "I heard you fought blueblood for me"
She said Spike nodded

"I'm so glad you're okay, when can you leave?" Spike asked

"The doctor said at least two months and even after I'm out he said I'll have to take it easy" Rarity explained

"That's great!" Spike said excitedly, the two months passed like the wind and Rarity was allowed to leave and the first thing they did was visit the grave of the child they had lost, laying flowers and mourning, and even though Rarity was supposed to take it easy and even though losing her first baby scarred her she did conceive again in time and had another beautiful baby girl thanks to spike but that's a story for another day
