AN: I have had a lot of fun developing and writing this story over the past few months. I have always wondered what would happen if Ponyville turned into a sort of Las Vegas deal where the mob took over. So I wrote about it. I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did writing it. Cheers -GTM

Door Buster was hanging around Ponyville's newly formed police station. He wasn't an inmate nor a concerned citizen. Door Buster was an officer of the law, a pony who upholds the peace, and today was his first day at work. Taking a breath Door Buster opened the heavy wooden doors and trotted in. Even though the station was just three weeks old there was paperwork mounting up on the reception desk. Door Buster was greeted by an old mare sorting papers. Using unicorn magic she flipped through some written employment records to find Door Buster's name. "Yes. Door Buster. A highly unusual name. Captain Black Hooves is waiting to see you. Through the door to your left." The mare said. Door Buster casually walked over to the Captain's office ready to start his first day at work, but before Door Buster could open the door the Captain opened it and pulled him in.

Captain Black Hooves poured a taste of some Applejack Daniels and offered a bit to Door Buster who accepted. The captain finished his drink before pausing to look out the window. "Officer, I'm damn glad you decided to join up. I understand that you served for a while in the Royal Guards, and I am fortunate to have a Pegasus like yourself to aide in the clean up of Ponyville." Black Hooves started. He poured a little bit more Applejack Daniels into his glass. "In the past ten years Ponyville has gone from a cutesy little town to a growing urban center. And as you know crime is one of the many perils of expansion." Black Hooves walked around the room and looked at a pin up board showcasing all the crime in Ponyville, "We can't explain why crime is on the rise here but Mayor Mare wants the issue to be mitigated until we can solve the problem, permanently." Black Hooves paused and finally sat down in his chair. "I'm assigning you to be Officer Sure Shot's partner. He was a deputy out in Appleoosa for a while but he's lacking in street smarts. I know you worked at Rainbow Dash's youth outreach a while ago, so I know you're in tune with the youth around here. I think he's out getting the patrol car ready." The captain then reached inside his desk and pulled out a small booklet. "This is your violation code book. Your locker combo is on the inside number."

"Thanks Captain." Door Buster said as he finished his beverage. He stuffed the book into his satchel and went off to the locker room where he equipped himself for a hard day's work. He put on his dark blue uniform, tailored specially for his wings, and then attached his satchel onto his back taking care to place his gun in the designated pouches. He then trotted off to the garage to meet with Sure Shot. There was only one patrol car in the garage, the other two patrol cars were out policing Ponyville. A pony slid out from the patrol car, and presented himself to Door Buster. "You the new guy?" He asked in a deep voice. "Yeah. Yeah I am." Door Buster said as he moved closer to the car. "Great. I'm Sure Shot. Get in we can exchange pleasantries in the car." Sure Shot said as he climbed into the car. Door Buster followed suit and got in the passenger side door.

"So..." Sure Shot began, "you got a name?" Door Buster inhaled and looked at Sure Shot. "Yeah, my name is Door Buster. Most of my friends just call me Buster though." Buster looked around as the car accelerated and saw nothing amiss. "So Buster, what's your story? You from around here?" Sure Shot asked as they rounded a street corner. "Yeah I spent some time down here in Ponyville, but I'm originally from Cloudsdale. I mean I am a Pegasus." Buster responded with a little chuckle. Sure Shot smiled and tried to issue a laugh but it just ended up as a huff of air. "It's been quite a long while since I've been to Cloudsdale, much less . Almost ten years." Buster continued. "What made you stop coming down here?" Sure Shot asked as they made their way downtown. "Well..." Buster began "I used to date a young Mare then I got selected to work with the Royal Guards in Canterlot. She didn't want me to go but I was dead set on joining the guards. It didn't work out." Buster sighed remembering the time he spent in Ponyville fondly. "What was her name?" Sure Shot's question pierced Buster's thoughts. "Hm?" Buster said absentmindedly . "What was her name? The mare?" Sure Shot repeated. "Her name..." Buster paused "Was Rainbow Dash."

"Rainbow Dash eh?" Sure Shot replied. "She's good friends with my cousin Apple Jack." Buster looked surprised. "AJ is your cousin?" Buster said in slight disbelief. "Yeah. You know her?" Sure Shot said. "Yeah. We met at least once." Door Buster said. "That's pretty cool. Maybe you could come over for dinner sometime. I'm sure that she'd be happy with you coming over." Sure Shot said even though he wasn't certain of his cousin's acceptance towards Door Buster. Before any further conversation could continue a call came over the radio. "Car three we have a report of vandalism at Sugar Cube Corner. Please respond code three." Sure Shot started accelerating and turned on the lights and sirens as Door Buster took the patrol car's radio and reported them responding.

The patrol car came to a screeching halt outside of Sugarcube Corner. Buster got out followed by Sure Shot. Immediately the cause of the call was evident. All of the front windows had been smashed in and the doors were spray painted with vulgar expressions. "Door Buster keep the outside secure I'm going to secure the building." Sure Shot said as he trotted into the building, gun drawn. Buster made sure that the other ponies didn't enter the building until Sure Shot came back. After what seemed like hours Sure Shot exited and confirmed that the building was clear. "Alright Buster, start talking to the other ponies and see if you can find anything. I'm going to start gathering hoof prints and other useful evidence." Sure Shot said. The crowd had already started to disperse but there was one pony who stood looking at the building, looking extremely sad. Buster walked over to the mare. "Erm- Excuse me, miss. Can I ask you a few questions?" Buster asked the pink colored earth pony. "Sure mister." She replied "Though I'm not in a good mood. You know why I'm not in a good mood? Do ya? Do ya? Huh?" Buster took flight a few feet into the air and grabbed his notebook from his satchel. "Well, I'd assume that it has to do with the damage here." Buster began, "Do you have a name miss?" The pony looked directly at Buster. "Yes, Pinkamena Diane Pie. But everypony just calls me Pinkie Pie." She said.

Door Buster continued questioning Pinkie Pie, hardly able to get a word in between Pinkie's constant and contradicting babble. "Alright Pinkie, hold up." Door Buster began, "Look you've given me almost 3 versions of your story. Including one where three men in hoodies save Equestria by beating back invaders with bricks. I need the story here. The real story." Buster looked at Pinkie and Pinkie frowned. "Alright mister. Look Like I've told you A THOUSAND times before these stallions wearing hoods and dark clothes came up and started destroying MY SHOP. And I want to know what you are going to do about it mister. And don't get me started about all the yelling. Those mean ponies came over smashing and yelling about how I wouldn't pay them for protection. I pay you for protection! Why am I not getting protected?" Pinkie gasped for air as she related the surprisingly short and to the point story. "Is that all they said? About the protection I mean. Also you are the owner of this place right." Door Buster asked bracing himself for a possible outburst. "Yup and yup. The Cake family left it to me when they left for Manehatten. Anyways I don't think there's much left to tell you." Pinkie said quaintly. She then quickly skipped off laughing.

that moment captain Black Hooves arrived. "If you guys are finished with your questioning you can leave. I'll take care of the rest of the scene." He said and trotted off giving orders to various police staff that had just started to arrive. Sure Shot and Door Buster nodded and climbed back into the police cruiser. "So. You hungry?" Sure Shot asked "We could go to my cousin's house for some lunch." Door Buster relished the idea, "Why the hay are you asking that? Of course I want some lunch."He said with gusto. Sure Shot smiled "Great, shouldn't be more than ten minutes till we get there. She's expanded the far a lot since you were last living in Ponyville, lot bigger." Sure Shot explained. Before they could finish their conversation a pony on a black crotch rocket sped by them going incredibly fast. "Dammit I really wanted to eat." Sure Shot complained as he turned on the lights and sirens and gave chase to the motorbike.

It wasn't long before the pair of officers caught up with the motorbike. The rider willfully pulled over to their surprise. "Alright kid, you take this one I'll run the info." Sure Shot said. Door Buster nodded "Alright, but after this we're grabbin' food at your cousin's house." Door Buster said with a laugh as he exited the car. Gray clouds were forming in the skies and Door Buster was wondering why nopony had cleared them out of the way. He ignored the thought and focused on the job at hand. Despite the clouds he put on a pair of shades and grabbed the ticket book from the car. He closed the door and started walking slowly to the motorbike. He couldn't see the rider at all, not even his or her tail. He was still walking slowly towards the motorbike when the rider took off her helmet. To Door Buster everything happened in slow motion, as soon as he stopped at the side of the bike the helmet slid off revealing a rainbow colored mane. Buster watched as she flipped her mane around, shaking out her helmet hair. Buster knew right away it was Rainbow Dash.

"So kid, you come back to Ponyville and don't tell me." Rainbow Dash said. Her voice was a little bit deeper than Buster remembered. Buster sighed wishing that Sure Shot had written the tickets. "Seriously? I haven't seen you for almost ten years and you don't even drop a line to say that you're coming back." Rainbow Dash continued. There was a long awkward silence as the two looked at each other. Door Buster started to say something but Rainbow Dash stopped him. "I'm glad you're safe kiddo." She said quietly. Door Buster nodded then shook his head. "Look, I'm just going to give you a written warning." Buster said. He then wrote his phone number on the warning sheet. He looked Rainbow Dash in the eyes, "Give me a call some time? Please?" And with that he walked back to the police car, nearly on the verge of crying as Dashie sped off.
