Abaddon the Redeemer in Equestria
Chapter 7 Questions and Answers
Previous Chapter"Hold," Abaddon commanded, stopping his brethren before the situation could devolve further. Already the ponies were frozen in fright.
Dropping the hay bails, he explained to the ponies, "Apologies if my brothers made you feel threatened. After our sudden accidental arrival upon your world, we are unsettled and on edge."
The ponies all collectively let out a large breath and dropped their tense postures.
Abaddon continued, "I am curious though, is the use of such psychitry common among your kind?"
Twilight, eager to assuage their nerves, explained.
"Unicorns use magic all the time Mr. Abaddon. It's perfectly safe unless somepony tries to fight or commits an accident."
Abaddon nodded, accepting the pony's words. Normally, a Xenos psyker would be of major concern, but this world seemed different somehow and his instincts, honed over the course of the Great Crusade, were calm and warning him of no danger from these ponies.
His accompanying brothers had some misgivings but they trusted their Captain and deferred to his will.
Responding to Twilight, Abaddon stated, "Then so long as you do not use any of your sorcery upon us, we will have no issue."
"Of course Mr. Abaddon you have my word that we won't use any spells on you or your brothers without your permission," Twilight assured.
Abaddon nodded again and said, "Very well then, let us continue Librarian."
Letting out another breath of relief, Twilight moved on with the questioning.
"First of all Mr. Abaddon, Lyra identified you all as humans and you confirmed. But in Equestria, humans are just legends and there are no recorded sightings of your species outside of foles' stories or information of any 'Imperium'. Where are you from then?"
Abaddon thought carefully for a moment as he considered how to answer. Finally, he said, "Before I can tell where we are from, I must inform you of how we came to be here on this planet."
Twilight's eyes widened when she heard him say planet, she quickly understood what he was implying but could scarcely imagine the possibility.
"Planet...are you saying you aren't from here at all, that you're all...aliens?"
The rest of the ponies' mouths dropped open except for the CMCs who already knew.
Abaddon confirmed, "Yes, we are."
Rainbow Dash zipped up right in front of Abaddon's face. The veteran had to suppress his reflexes that would have pulped the pegasus.
"Oh my Gosh, Oh my Gosh, Oh my Gosh! Aliens! You're all actual Aliens! That's soooo Cooool!" Rainbow Dash gushed at what was probably the coolest thing she'd discovered in her life.
Before Rainbow could act any further though, Twilight used her magic to pull her back. After seeing how the entire situation had nearly turned, she did not want her most brash friend in the face of one of their guests.
"Rainbow! Don't just fly into their faces! This is serious, we're making first contact here!" she admonished.
Rainbow looked a bit miffed but complied and sat back down. Twilight let out another breath of relief.
Returning to the humans, Twilight gave a shaky smile and apologized, "Sorry about that, this is all just so...unexpected for all of us."
"Forgiven and Forgotten, Librarian Sparkle," Abaddon accepted.
Clearing her throat Twilight continued, "You were about to explain how you all got here?"
Abaddon nodded once more
"It was during a battle against another alien species we know as 'Orks' on another planet. We had taken over one of their command and control centers when a giant explosion occurred...I then found myself waking up in a clearing inside the neighboring forest along with my brothers," he recounted, simplifying events for the ponies to easily understand.
"Battle! Explosion! *Gasp* Are any of you hurt?!" Fluttershy asked. The rest of the group showed expressions of concern as well.
Abaddon's face turned forlorn and he told with sorrow, "None of us here are but there are just under a hundred back in the clearing...five didn't make it."
There was silence in the barn as the ponies processed what they had been told. All felt both sadness and shock. None of them had ever lost somepony dear to them in a war or throughout their journeys. Fluttershy had small tears at the edge of her eyes and looked as if she wished to give each of the Marines a hug - she truly did.
"I-I'm so sorry, Mr. Abaddon. I can't imagine what you're feeling, I don't know how I would be able to go on without my brother," Twilight expressed her condolences. The rest of the ponies began to give theirs as well.
The First Captain raised his right hand for silence and said, "There is no need for apologies, my brothers completed their last objective and fulfilled their duty. There is no better end for an Astartes."
All the ponies felt increased respect for the Justaerin, especially Twilight and Rainbow Dash, who personally knew members of the Equestrian armed forces.
Twilight, wishing to move on from the somber tone the conversation had taken, asked, "Mr. Abaddon, you've confirmed that you and your brothers are aliens and when you first introduced yourself, you said you were from an 'Imperium of Mankind'. I presume this is one of the kingdoms on the planet you were on, can you describe your Imperium for us?"
That question brought a smug smile to Abaddon's face and he answered with pride.
"I'm afraid that presumption is incorrect, Librarian Sparkle. Humanity's homeworld is Ancient Terra and the Imperium is not confined to a single planetary body but an interstellar empire with nearly a million worlds."
When Abaddon concluded his explanation, the ponies' jaws didn't just drop, they stretched comedically to the floor.
"In-Intersetllar? A-A million worlds? You mean your Imperium covers the entire galaxy?" Twilight questioned with evident disbelief.
"Correct," Abaddon replied, his smile still present.
The ponies sat in stark silence as they struggled to comprehend the sheer scale of such an entity.
The silence was broken when each of the ponies broke out of their stupor and all at once began bombarding the Warrior with a series of questions.
Abaddon proudly answered some of the most relevant.
How did they travel in space? Using voidships capable of faster-than-light travel.
How large were there voidships? 750 meters at minimum and 12 kilometers at maximum.
How many humans lived in the Imperium? Uncountable quintillions.
As Abaddon detailed the Imperium, the awe of the ponies only grew further.
Comments would be appreciated.
