It continued, fading in and out of space until the Tardis was eventually gone. Inside, the Tardis moved a bit, though not enough to where it was a danger to the inside. It was like sitting in a carriage or wagon over a bumpy road. The Doctor looked at the Tardis with a smile. “Woah,” Derpy said. “Why is it so bumpy?” “Ah, well you see,” The Doctor stated, “we are currently in a time vortex going to Canterlot. If you were to step outside that door, you’d fall right into the time vortex.” Derpy looked at the doctor and started flying to the door. “Well, that wasn’t a suggestion to go in it,” The Doctor said nonchalantly. “Oh, okay,” Derpy said, a little disappointed. “By the way, are you gone eat that?” She pointed toward the Doctor’s muffin. “Yes, I am,” the Doctor said, a bit perplexed as to why she wanted it. “You already have one.” Derpy looked down at her muffin. “Okay,” Derpy said, even more disappointed than before. She started taking bites out of her muffin. “I wish I had a second muffin,” Derpy muttered under her breath between bites. The Doctor sighed, pretending not to hear. “It has been a while since I’ve taken this girl out for a spin. It’s the first time I’ve done it in this form.” “This form?” Derpy asked with the last part of the muffin in her mouth. “Oh, I suppose I’ve only told Rose about the story,” The Doctor said to himself. “Very well. You see, I'm not actually a pony, the people where I’m from just have pony-like forms.” “Like a Changeling!?” Derpy interjected. “Somewhat, but not in the same way,” The Doctor answered. “You see, I’m a Time Lord, though I’m personally more of a fan of the name Time Turner, an elite group of creatures known as Gallopfreyans.” “Gallop...what now?” Derpy asked. “Gallopfreyans,” The Doctor answered, “are the pony-like creatures that live on Gallopfrey, a planet lightyears away.” “What’s a light year?” Derpy asked. “That’s what she’s concerned with,” The Doctor thought. “Well, it means the amount of time it takes for light to reach somewhere. In other words, it takes a long time to reach there. “Oh,” Derpy said. “Anyway,” The Doctor started, “Time Lords have a power, of sorts, that lets us regenerate into a new body each time we die. We get 12 regenerations for 13 forms. This is my 10th form, so my 9th regeneration.” “Wait, you’re an alien!!!” Derpy yelled. “Yes,” The Doctor answered, looking at her oddly again. “I figured you got that already. For my past few regenerations, I’ve gone through time and space, stopping catastrophic events from happening. Luckily, none of them have been able to harm Equestria, not in a major way at least.” “Woah,” Derpy said, only half getting what he was saying. “Indeed, I was traveling for a while, stopping several villains from damaging the universe at large. That stopped when the Time War took out several creatures that were trying to take over or ‘EXTERMINATE,’ as they would say, and were wiped out by a massive explosion. I, myself, was also caught in the explosion. I crashed into Ponyville, regenerating into my current form. This also broke the Tardis. This would not be so bad on another planet, but in Equestria, most of the materials I need are not there. Luckily, by some miracle, I was able to get enough of the parts I needed to rebuild as much as I did. However, I fell in love with this era of Equestria. I liked it before, but now, I truly understand this world's beauty. I vow to make sure that I keep Equestria and even the whole planet safe from any time and space traveling threats. I’ll leave friendship problems for Twilight and her friends to deal with.” Derpy looked back at The Doctor before saying, “Woah Doc, thank you!” with a big smile on her face. “Don’t mention it,” The Doctor replied. The Tardis stopped moving and The Doctor said, “Ahh, that must mean that we’ve arrived.” The Doctor opened the door to the Tardis. “Now, let’s go.” Outside was a beautiful view of Cloudsdale and even Ponyville. Canterlot, while not having as nice a view since they were in it, still looked very nice. Luckily, none of the tall buildings blocked the view of the race about to happen. “I arrived a few minutes early so we’d be able to get comfortable before the race began,” The Doctor told Derpy. Derpy went out of the Tardis and looked behind it. Behind the Tardis was Princess Celestia’s castle. They were next to a wall with a large window and a few pillars. “Woah,” Derpy said. “I’ve never been this close to the castle! It’s so much bigger up close.” “Yes,” The Doctor started, “I suppose it is. Now, let us get ready for the Rainboom. I’ll lay down here, but you can anywhere you’d like to see better, just stay close; we wouldn’t want you meeting someone from the past.” The Doctor laid down on the grass to watch the Rainboom. The Doctor could make out that the race could begin any second. Derpy was looking for a place she could sit to watch the race from a high angle. She chose to sit on one of the pilers near the wall. She flew up to the (rather tall) pillar and sat. By the time she sat down the race had already begun. The two watched the Pegasi race throughout the skies only seeing Rainbow Dash due to her rainbow trail. Derpy stood up on the piler and shouted, “Go Rainbow Dash!” The Doctor chuckled. “Be careful up there Mrs. Derpy,” The Doctor warned, only half concerned. Derpy jumped on the pillar to show support for Rainbow Dash. Unfortunately, this jumping caused the pillar to become unstable and start to fall. The Doctor turned around, saw this, and yelled, “Mrs. Derpy! Jump!” Derpy did so and jumped off the pillar in the nick of time. The Doctor ran over to try and stop the pillar from falling. He tried kicking the pillar like Apple Jack “bucked” her trees. Unfortunately for him, he was not as strong as Apple Jack. It did not go back into place, but rather it stayed put in the back of his hoof, neither of them moving, blocking the window. While this is happening, the Sonic Rainboom finally happens. The strength the Rainboom gives him is enough to finally push the pillar back. “Oh, I’m sorry Doc,” Derpy said. “No harm, no foul,” The Doctor said, brushing off his coat before giving Derpy a sincere smile. “I am glad we were able to see the Rainboom, even if not in the way I’d imagined.” The Doctor went to the Tardis. “Well, I suppose it’s time to go back to Ponyville.” The Doctor entered the Police Box and went to the control panel. Derpy was close behind when she heard crying. Derpy looked back and saw a purple filly crying while running out of the castle. Derpy looked at her and frowned. She walked into the Tardis. “Hey Doc, I just saw a filly crying, is there any way we can help her out.” “Hmmmm,” The Doctor said, thinking to himself. “I’ll see what I can do. However, if it’s too big a problem, I won’t be able to help.” They both walked out and looked for the filly, but by the time they had got there, she was gone. “She was right here just a second ago,” Derpy lamented. “Yes, she must have run off,” The Doctor said, disappointed that he couldn’t help the mare Derpy saw. The Doctor went a bit further out to look down a few streets but didn’t see a single filly crying. “I suppose it’s time for us get going.” “Yeah, I guess,” Derpy said, slightly upset. “Well, Allons-y," The Doctor said, going back to the Tardis. The Doctor activated the Tardis and waited. “I set the Tardis to take us back about an hour or two after we left,” The Doctor said. “It should be about another hour or so till sunset. It’s been a while since I last time travelled. I am feeling quite tired.” “Okie dookie,” Derpy said. The two rode in the Tardis quietly. They were both too tired to say anything. They were silent until the Tardis stopped moving, signifying that they had finally returned to modern Ponyville. “Well, I suppose this is goodbye for now,” The Doctor said. “I hope to see you again soon. If you would ever like to go with me on another excursion, let me know, I’d love your company.” “You got it Doc!” Derpy said cheerfully. “See you soon.” While Derpy said this to the Doctor, it was clear she was also eyeing up his muffin. Derpy then walked out, leaving The Doctor by himself. He stood in the Tardis wondering what to do. He was going to eat his muffin then go to bed, but he realized he didn’t have any banana daiquiri. So, he decided to go to the place that sells them, “They should still be open,” he thought. He left the Tardis and went to the streets of Ponyville. However, they were oddly empty. No pony was out even though sunset was a ways away. He walked down to Sugar Cube Corner to buy his daiquiri (Pinkie Pie was surprisingly great at making them). However, right before he made his way into the store he heard a faint, “Help!” The Doctor recognized the voice as Derpy. While the possibility of it just being her accidentally falling a few feet was high, he still had to go see if he could help her. He galloped to the other side of Ponyville, barely seeing any ponies, maybe one or two out of the corner of his eye. But he couldn’t worry about that now. He had to find Derpy. And eventually he did. But what he found shook him to his core. Derpy was being held by two “mares.” They had flat, cold, black eyes, no mane or tail, A light source beaming where their cutie marks should be, a metallic silver coat, a black line with holes where the mouth should be, and what looked to be headphones, like that of DJ Pon-3's, on their ears. They looked like alicorns, but the wing and horn (like the rest of its body) was made of a metallic suit. They were flying while holding either side of Derpy. The Doctor looked at these identical mares with fear. “Hello again Doctor,” both Cybermares said. The Rise of the CybermaresThe Doctor stood in stunned silence. The Cybermares were one of his greatest threats. They would take ponies (and other pony-like creatures) and turn them into Cybermares. However, he thought they had been wiped out after the Time War, but now, he could clearly see the two mares almost identical to his old foes. The Doctor didn’t move. He wanted to save his companion, but something in his body stopped him. There shouldn’t be any threats like this in Equestria. And if the Cybermares survived... what else did? All of this ran through the Doctors mind. He stood there watching them. Two demons from his past. Finally, the Doctor drew his strength. He charged at the Cybermares. Both horns started glowing, signifying a magic beam. The Doctor ran toward it, faster than he felt he had ever run. He jumped, spinning around to where his rear was facing the cybermares. He pulled his hind legs back, ready to kick. When he was close, he pushed his legs back hitting one of the cybermares. The Doctor landed on the ground and looked up. One of the cybermares was still there (preparing a magical attack), but the other was far away. While he knew he had hit them hard, he didn’t think it was that hard. He looked at Derpy. While she was partly free, she was still too weak to free herself entirely. Instead of struggling to free herself, she was looking to the right (the Doctor’s left). Looking at the remaining cybermare, so were they. Looking to his left, the Doctor saw three ponies: The one in front was a Unicorn with a mint coat, cyan mane (with a streak of white), Sunglow eyes, and a cutie mark of a Lyre. The one behind her was an Earth pony with a beige coat, blue mane (with a streak of rose), cerulean eyes, and a cutie mark of three candies. The last was an Alicorn with a yellowish gray coat, red mane (with a streak purple), purple eyes with glasses, and a cutie mark of a crescent moon with three stars. From the looks of things, the unicorn just fired off a blast of magic. The Doctor didn’t hear it from his laser focus on hitting the Cybermare. That is most likely what sent the Cybermare back so far. The unicorn started to charge another attack. The Earth pony yelled, “Get back!” The Doctor wanted to help his friend and these other ponies take the Cybermares down; however, if he tried to kick the other Cybermare, he would just get in the way of the Unicorn. So, in hopes of being able to rescue Derpy fast, he ran to the group of mares to his left, standing beside the Earth pony. The Unicorn and the Cybermare were in a standoff. Out of corner of his ear, the Doctor heard the Alicorn charging a magic attack. After what felt like an eternity, the Alicorn and Unicorn fired off their attack. The Cybermare tried to attack but it was too late. They went further back than the first, who was now getting closer. Derpy was finally free. However, with the first Cybermare approaching, they couldn’t celebrate. The Alicorn turned around and yelled to them, “Follow us!” Not wanting to be captured (or captured a second time in the case of Derpy) The Doctor and Derpy sprinted after the three mares. They ran back through the streets of Ponyville when the Doctor remembered something. “My sonic screwdriver!” He shouted. “It’s in the Tardis! It might assist in taking down the Cybermares!” The three mares looked back at him. Though they hadn’t known him for long or even known his name, they looked at him with something the Doctor could tell they had not had in a while... hope. “Lead the way,” The Alicorn stated, “Erm... what was your name?” “Call me The Doctor,” He replied. “Doctor?” The Unicorn asked. “Doctor who?” The Doctor just smirked. “Exactly,” he said. “Follow me! Allons-y!” The Doctor started running to where the Tardis was. He was filled with a new sense of determination now that his friend was free. He rushed to the Tardis, only to find an empty lot. “No,” The Doctor whispered. “No, no, no, no, no!” ran around the area looking for any trace of the Tardis, but he found nothing. “Is that your ‘Tardis,’” the Earth pony said pointing up. The Doctor looked up and saw at least 8 Cybermen carrying away the Tardis. “No,” was all he could say. The Doctor fell. With everything that had happened in the last half an hour alone, he didn’t know what to do. The Alicorn put a hoof on the Doctor. “I’m sorry Doctor,” she started, “but with that many Cybermares, there’s no way we can win. I know where we can go without the threat of Cybermares. Will you come?” The Doctor looked up at her. Her mane looked like Twilight’s. He believed her. He took her hoof and got back on his hooves. Wordlessly he nodded. “Lead the way,” The Doctor said with determination. The Alicorn started galloping away with the rest of the ponies close behind. They galloped through the streets of Ponyville, occasionally seeing a Cybermare. However, they would always outrun them. Eventually, they came to the train station. The Alicorn looked to the sides, checking for Cybermares. When she saw the cost was clear, she revealed a hole in the floor of the train station covered with a sort of manhole cover. She pulled the cover off and signaled for the other four to go down. They nodded and climbed down the stairs hidden underneath. The Alicorn went last, checked to see the cost was again and pulled the cover back. The five were in a tunnel lit by torches. The tunnel was wide enough for the five of them to stand next to each other with enough space between them. While the tunnel was lit, the torches only lit so far, so it was hard to see very far. The Alicorn came down from the stairs and said, “We should be safe now.” The Doctor could finally get a good look at the three mares he and Derpy had followed and recognized them. He looked at the Earth pony and Unicorn and realized that they were Lyra Heartstrings and Bonbon. He didn’t know them very well, but he did know that they lived in Ponyville and went to Cranky’s wedding. However, he still didn’t know who the Alicorn was. “I believe now that we’re safe,” The Doctor started with a smile, “some introductions are in order. As I said before, my name is The Doctor.” “My name is Lyra Heartstrings,” the Unicorn said. “Bonbon,” the Earth Pony said giving the Doctor a suspicious look. The Doctor’s theory was proven correct. These were the two the same he, somewhat, remembered (to an extent at least). Bonbon seemed a bit more irritable. Lyra seemed mostly the same though. “And my name is Moon Dancer,” the Alicorn said. The Doctor heard that and tried to rack his brain to remember where he had heard that name before. He could tell he hadn’t met her before, but the name still did ring a bell. Maybe he had heard it from one of his friends? He didn’t know While in his train of thought, he heard, “And I’m Derpy!” Derpy said, giving a salute. “Well Doctor and Derpy,” Moon Dancer started, “follow us.” The three mares started walking down the tunnel. “I suppose we should follow,” The Doctor said to Derpy. “Oh, yeah,” Derpy replied. The pair followed the three mares they met. They walked through the tunnel below the Ponyville, unsure where they were going but trusting they were being led somewhere that was safe. The Cyber ResistanceThe 5 ponies walked down the long tunnel for an hour or so. The path winded a bit every now and then but kept going further and further. After a few turns the Doctor asked, “How long is this tunnel?” “You think this is long?” Lyra answered with a question. “You should see the tunnel we’re making to Manehattan!” She lightly giggled to herself afterwards. “Another two hours or so,” Moon Dancer said seriously. “And where are we going exactly?” The Doctor asked. “To Canterlot,” Moon Dancer answered. “Canterlot!?” The Doctor said shocked. “Wouldn’t that be filled with even more Cybermares?” “Of course, it is,” Moon Dancer said. “But our base is in a hidden part of Canterlot. From what we’ve gathered, the Cybermares don’t even know it’s there. However, we are trying to find a more secluded area to set up a new base of operations just in case.” “I might know of a place.” The Doctor said thinking of out of the way places in Equestria. “Where’s that?” Bonbon asked, looking back at the Doctor. “Do you know Pinkie Pie?” The Doctor asked, remembering all she would tell him when she made his daiquiri. “Yeah, she was one of the friends I made when I came to Ponyville,” Moon Dancer said. “Excellent,” The Doctor said. “Her family owns a rock farm far away. That might be an excellent place to start a base.” “Hmmm, that sounds like a good idea,” Moon Dancer muttered to herself. “When we get back to the base, I’ll look at our map of Equestria to see how far it is.” The five made small talk on their trek for the next hour until the scenery started to change. The once brown and gray halls were changing their colors to purples, blues, and greens. The walls, instead of being made of dirt and stone, were made of some type of crystal, reflecting the five ponies as they walked through the tunnels. The space also got larger as they continued forward. The changes stopped when they reached a large cave. There was a large pit in the center of the cave. The pit had a small bridge that led to another cave to the left. To the right was a large pile of rocks it seemed to have once been an exit, but after so many rocks were in the way, the exit was blocked. While it was hard to tell, it seems there were a few more layers of rock outside that blocked it up even more. There were a few more caves that lead out. Each had a sign on them saying where they go to. (Fillydelphia and Manehattan were the first ones the doctor could). The Doctor looked around and realized these were the caves under Canterlot. He had been down here thousands of years before. It used to be a type of prison, but now it is used as a base for the survivors. There were several ponies in the cave, most were just sitting, eating, or trying to sleep. There were others that were giving out food and blankets. Moon Dancer gestured to them to go across the bridge. The bridge was made of wood. At first the Doctor was skeptical, but after seeing the reinforcement in the pit and under the bridge, he trotted easier. The bridge led to a hallway full of other (smaller) rooms of the cave. Each room seemed to have a purpose. One seemed like a kitchen to prepare food. Next to it was a storage room. While he couldn’t make out what they said, he did see each chest had a sign attached to it. The one across from that one was interesting. It was large and filled with grass and plants. The Doctor looked up a saw a light source. It was small but covered all the plants in the room. They walked by several more rooms until they came to a room with tables, chairs, and a large map of Equestria. Sitting at one of the tables, looking at the map, was a light blue unicorn. “Trixie,” Moon Dancer started, “anything to report?” “The Great and Powerful Trixie has nothing to report,” Trixie said, rolling her r’s. “Welcome to the command center,” Moon Dancer said. “Hi Trixie!” Derpy said. “Do I know you?” Trixie asked, looking at her up and down. Derpy, heartbroken, replied with, “Yeah, remember that Muffin we shared?” “Doctor,” Moon Dancer started, cutting off Trixie, “show us where the rock farm is.” The Doctor looked at the map. There were highlighted areas. In the top left was a key that showed the highlighted areas were places they’d connected tunnels to. He followed one tunnel until it ended at the Appleloosa. He pointed at it and said, “Here. If you go west of here you can find the rock farm. If you're lucky there might even be gold at the farm.” “Why would that make us lucky?” Lyra asked. “It’s their weakness,” The Doctor said without looking up. He knew they knew what he was talking about. He knew they had hope in their eyes. The look they had before. The look he loved to see in others. “That’s amazing!” Moon Dancer said, hope in the mare’s voice. “Of course, it is just a chance,” The Doctor saying, trying not to set them up for disappointment later. “However, from what I do know about this, there might be gold there.” “How do you know this much?” Bonbon asked, suspicion in her voice. “The farm,” The Doctor started, “I know from my friend Pinkie Pie telling me about it and what they do whenever she was making me my order at Sugar Cube Corner. As for the Cybermares...” The Doctor stopped. The fear he had when he first saw them, and the possibility they brought, returned. He composed himself to say, “This isn’t the first time I’ve delt with them.” The tension in the room was thick. No one spoke. The Doctor looked at the map, not wanting to look up. He could feel tears welling up in his eyes, he didn’t want the others to see that. He took his hoof and wiped away any tears he had. He looked up. “I suppose I have some explaining to do,” he said. He summarized everything that had happened to him. Who he was, where he was from and everything else he had told Derpy. However, he stopped when he described the Time War. “The Time war was fierce. It was a war between the Time Lords and the Dalek. The Cybermares decided to join in the fight as well, mainly slaughtering our side. So many on all sides were killed. A dolt I knew decided to mess with time and space and accidentally gave the Dalek the advantage. I knew I couldn’t stand around and let that happen, so I stole something known as ‘The Moment’ and set it off. It destroyed Gallopfrey and the Time Lord, Dalek, and, of course, the Cybermares. I was the only survivor.” The Doctor looked up. “Or so I thought.” The mares in the room looked at him, shocked. “That sounds nearly as stressful as Trixie’s life has been!” Trixie said. The others looked at her with a scowl. “Kidding of course,” Trixie said with a smile. “I’m very sorry you had to go through that,” Moon Dancer said. “You can stay with us for as long as you need. We’re currently trying to find a way to shut them all down. We just need to find the source.” “However,” Lyra chimed in, “the only lead we have is this.” She held up a metal device with a “C” on the front surrounded by a circle. “A Cybermare locater,” The Doctor said. The device flew up and went to Trixie. “This device belongs to the Great and Powerful Trixie, who found it when she was fighting a Cybermare.” “Trixie, you got it when it fell off of a Cybermare you were cowering from and I saved you from,” Moon Dancer added. “And thus is the reason I’m loyal to you and not in control of this whole operation,” Trixie replied. The rest rolled their eyes. “You seem to know what it is,” Moon Dancer said to the Doctor. “Is there any way you can use it?” The Doctor looked at the locater. “Hmm, yes, these are made for Cybermares whose tracking systems are busted. We can activate it and find the place they operate out of.” “Great!” Lyra cheered. “However,” The Doctor started, “that is easier said than done. It isn’t easy to activate one of these if it isn’t attached to Cybermare armor. That being said, with the proper tools, I might be able to activate it.” “What tools do you need?” Bonbon asked. “Screwdrivers, wrenches, a hammer or two if you have them,” The Doctor replied. “It will take days to open it though.” “We’re on it,” Lyra said. Lyra and Bonbon then exited the room to look for the tools. “Thank you,” Moon Dancer said. “For what?” The Doctor asked. “Giving us hope,” Moon Dancer answered. The Doctor simply nodded. Moon Dancer walked out with Derpy saying, “Come with me, I’ll get you your blanket.” Trixie stared at the Doctor, then the locater. She simply walked out, muttering under her breath, “That thingy was mine.” This left the doctor alone with the Cybermare locater. He looked at the silver smooth design. He looked at it and said to himself, “Could they both be back? The New EquestriaThe Doctor took the wrench in his mouth and attempted to open it. He failed but felt he was getting closer. In the room with him were Lyra and Bonbon. Bonbon was looking at the map, most likely doing something important. Lyra was sitting on one of the chairs watching Bonbon. They were all sitting quietly. “I have a question,” The Doctor said, breaking the silence. “Uh, shoot,” Lyra said. “I told you about what happened to me,” The Doctor started, “but what happened to this place?” “Hmmm,” Lyra said. “I don’t know how the Cybermares appeared in the first place, but I know what happened in Ponyville. It was around a year ago, on Rainbow Dash’s Birthaversery. Bonbon was gone for that day, so I went to watch Pinkie. Pinkie was getting a bunch of supplies for the day and made a giant banner of Rainbow Dash. That’s when it happened. “A cybermare appeared in town and Pinkie, being Pinkie, went up to it to talk and introduce herself. All she got in return was a zap from the cybermare’s ‘horn.’ Pinkie passed out and the Cybermare grabbed her. After that, more appeared. They started taking more and more ponies. The only reason I survived was because Moon Dancer rescued me and brought me to a safe space. “We were able to sneak out of town and find a safe spot. Our old foal sitter, Princes Cadence, was having a wedding at the castle but was replaced by a changeling. The real one was sent to these caves as well as Moon Dancer and the bride’s maids, including me. Luckily, no one knows about this place, including the cybermares.” “That makes since,” the Doctor said after listening to Lyra’s story. He tinkered with the device as she spoke. “I have a question,” Bonbon spoke up. “As you say, shoot,” The Doctor said, turning to Bonbon. “Is there a way to turn a cybermare back?” she asked. The Doctor thought for a moment. “If you catch a cybermare soon after being turned, there might be a chance, given you have the right tools. Otherwise....” The Doctor trailed off. Bonbon looked at him for a second with a horrified expression. Tears began to well up in her eyes before she left the room. Lyra looked to see if Bonbon was out of ear shot. “I should probably tell you the story. A few days before the cybermare attack, Bonbon told me something. She told me she was an agent for a monster-hunting agency from Canterlot. She was sent to Ponyville when a Bugbear she captured escaped from Tartarus. She said that when they couldn’t recapture it, the agency dissolved, and she had to assume the identity of Bonbon. “That day, however, they had finally found the Bugbear. They called her in to come back and recapture it once and for all. Little did she know that when they went to get the Bugbear, the cybermares would be there. They took out and captured Bonbon fellow (former) agents. She was the only one that survived.” “How did she survive?” The Doctor asked. “A week or so after we got her,” Lyra said, pointing to the caves, “Moon Dancer went out to look for any survivors. She found bonbon in one of the caves cold and alone. She brought Bonbon back. You should have seen our faces when we saw her.” Lyra started to tear up as well. “Is there any way you can help her?” The Doctor looked at her. “I’ll do anything I can. You have my word.” Lyra looked at him with a smile. She left the room. Presumably to find Bonbon. The Doctor smiled at the mare until she left. He looked back at the locator he had been trying to open. He knew he couldn’t just bring her friends back from the dead. The best bet he had was to go back in time to make sure that the cybermares (or any other unwanted guests) didn’t appear. He sat the device down. He went out to the larger cave Lyra was next to Bonbon who was softly crying. The Doctor sat down next to Bonbon. “Is there any way you can bring them back?” she asked weakly. The Doctor, not wanting to give her false hope, softly said, “No, I don’t think so.” Bonbon started to ball. The Doctor put his hoof on Bonbon’s shoulder. “But I promise you this, If I can retrieve my Tardis and set this world right, your friends will be safe. And either way, I’m sure that they wanted you to be strong and that they believed in you. And I’m sure that your friends here all believe in you.” He pointed back to Lyra, who gave a soft smile. Bonbon looked back to the Doctor and whispered, “Thank you.” “Of course,” the Doctor said. He then got up and walked back across the bridge to the room he was in. He sat back down and tried tinkering with the device again. “This would be so much easier with my sonic screwdriver,” The Doctor said, continuing his task of turning the locater on. The Pear and the LocatorMoon Dancer entered the room. She saw the Doctor working away at the Cybermare locator at the table. “Doctor,” she started, “did you get any sleep?” “Of course I did,” The Doctor said. “I got sixty whole minutes. It was great.” Moon Dancer looked at the Doctor and turned around. She soon came back with a fruit carried by the magic of her horn. She sat it on the table next to the locator. “Breakfast is served.” The Doctor looked up to see a pear next to him. “Oh no, I can’t eat that,” the Doctor said. “Why not?” Moon Dancer asked. “Well, it’s a pear,” the Doctor replied. “One of the most disgusting things of them all. I’ve traveled across all of time and the most repulsive thing I’ve ever tasted was a pear!” “All right, I get it,” Moon Dancer said, hoping to have cut him off. She left the room again and came back with an apple. “Other than the pears this is the best fruit we’ve got.” Like she said, the apple seemed significantly older than the pear with several bruises. Granted, it was still most certainly edible. “Ah, a fine fruit the apple is,” The Doctor declared before taking a bite. Moon Dancer sat down next to him as he ate the apple. “Any hints on the locator?” Moon Dancer asked, eating a pear of her own. “I believe I’m close,” the Doctor said, putting the apple down. “All I need is a bit more time before I can open it.” “Why has it taken so long?” Moon Dancer asked. “They are used by the Cybermares to find the way back to where they “turn others into Cybermares,” The Doctor explained. “They are made to open with their suit on the front hoof.” The Doctor pointed to his front left hoof to show where it would go. “They open automatically when they cybermares think it with their suit, but they never considered opening it manually. Not to mention this technology,” he pointed to the tools. “The Cybermares made these with a bit more advanced tool set. However, I might be close to opening it, even with these tools.” Moon Dancer and the Doctor sat together in the command room making conversation every now and then. However, the Doctor continued to try to open the locator for hours. Many ponies came and went while the Doctor worked away. Moon Dancer seemed to doze off when she heard something from the table. “Eureka!” the Doctor cried. He held up the Cybermare locator. It was open. The segment that used to be closed was now open. It showed a holographic image of Equestria. On it was a lengthy line going to a spot near Fillydelphia. “That is where the Cybermares are located,” the Doctor said, looking at the locator. “We’ve finally got them!” The commotion caused several others to come into the room. All of them looked at the hologram with a twinkle of hope in their eyes. “We have a tunnel near Fillydelphia,” Moon Dancer said. “It might be close to their base of operation.” “Excellent,” the Doctor said. “We’ll take the rest of the day to get our things and make the trek to Fillydelphia.” Lyra spoke up.. “What is our plan exactly.” The Doctor looked at the mare and explained his plan. “As we can see on this locator, there is only one Cybermare base, so if we take that down, the Cybermares will fall. At the very least no more will be made. Then, after we leave with the Tardis, you all can advance toward the Pie family farm. There should be tons of gold there where you can forge some type of weapons to take down the remaining Cybermares.” “What are you going to do?” Bob Bon asked. “Me and my companion,” the Doctor said pointing to Derpy, “are going to take the Tardis and go back to our timeline. If we’re lucky, we’ll find what the major change that was made that changed the trajectory of events that lead to this timeline.” The other ponies stared at the Doctor for a moment, not understanding what he was saying. Bon Bon stepped up. “I don’t understand anything you just said, but I know we can take down the Cybermares!” “Yeah!” the others cheered out. The Doctor brought all his things together for the next day. Once they had eaten breakfast, they were set to go to Fillydelphia and take down the Cybermares. He packed what he thought he would need: a few tools, map, and some food (though he didn’t let any pears near his bag). He tried to get some sleep (after packing the closest thing to muffins for Derpy) but found himself restless. He stayed up all night thinking about the plan. Though he tried to convince the others that this plan would work, even he didn’t believe in it fully. He sat there replaying the sicario all night just trying to find any way for it to better. That wasn’t the only thing he pondered during the night. He also thought about the Cybermares and how they were back. He had several enemies, sure, but none of them attacked him in the years he had been stuck in Ponyville. Sure, there were a few attacks, but they were by the inhabitants of this world (and time). But the Cybermares? They were enemies of his from years and years ago. After the time wars, they should have died out after the moment was activated. The Doctor was up all night pondering the impossibilities that he was in, never getting a satisfactory answer to any of his questions To Fillydelphia!Moon Dancer, Lyra, Bon Bon, Derpy and the Doctor had all the things they thought they would need. They stood in front of the cave opening that led to Fillydelphia. They all looked at it and started to trot forward. Before they could leave, however, they heard another mare shouting. “Wait for me!!!!” Trixie yelled. The magical mare was racing down the crystal caves to get to where the five were standing. She had several bags with her. Though it took a minute, Trixie was able to catch up with them. She stood there huffing and puffing from her run. “For a minute...... I thought you were...... leaving without me...... The great and Powerful...... Trixie.” Moon Dancer looked uncomfortable standing there. She looked at Trixie. “Well, you see...” Bon Bon went up to Trixie and put a hoof on her. “We need somepony to stay here and make sure cybermares don’t get in. We trust you to stay here and defend our base.” Trixie’s eyes began to well up with tears. She put her hoof as a salute and said, “I won’t let you down!” She then ran off to go do Celestia knows what. “Well, Allons-y!” The Doctor exclaimed. The ponies set off on their journey. ***** After ten hours of walking (and an hour of rest), the group saw a hatch at the top of the tunnel. “Is that hatch in the Fillydelphia train station?” Derpy asked. “Yep,” Moon Dancer responded. “I’ll go up to the surface to make sure no Cybermare is up there.” She pulled down a nearby ladder. The Alicorn opened the hatch and flew up to check for anything. She then flew back down and gave a nod and gestured to come up. Derpy flew up while the two Earth Ponies and Unicorn climbed up the ladder. The town was surrounded by the darkness of the night. There wasn’t a Cybermare in sight. However, even though the coast was clear, the tension in the area was thick. At any turn, a Cybermare could jump out an alert the whole city. When getting to the top, the Doctor looked at the other four and made a zip motion across his mouth, signaling to keep quiet. The others nodded (except for Derpy who just repeated the motion though clearly understood what it meant). The Doctor looked around before spotting an alley way and signaled the others to follow along. The five walked through the alley with the Doctor looking down at the locator in his hooves. After five minutes of walking through the alley and following the locator, they were very close to the Cybermare base. However, the Doctor heard the sound of metal moving up and down. He looked up to see a Cybermare in the sky. The Cybermare had, luckily, not seen them yet. As the Doctor was thinking of a way to avoid the Cybermare, Bon Bon looked around and saw a door to one of the buildings they were between. She kicked the door open and pulled Lyra in. Seeing this, the others ran in too. They gave a sigh of relief, but it was short lived when the Cybermare landed in front of the door. Not wanting to give the Cybermare any time to call for backup, Moon Dancer charged and fired off a blast as quickly (though also quietly) as possible. After seven blasts, the Cybermare stopped moving. Whether it was knocked unconscious or killed, they didn’t know and didn’t have time to care (and Moon Dancer didn’t want to think about it). They took a moment to catch their breath and look around where they were. They were in what looked to be a storage room. There were buckets of coat paint (paint ponies could put on their coats), what must have been hundreds of pieces of cardboard, glasses, and even what looked like headphones. In a hushed tone, Lyra said, “This must be a supply shop!” The others nodded, agreeing with Lyra. The Doctor pulled out the locator and it appeared that the base was even closer than before. Bon Bon and Lyra, quietly, looked around the store to see if there were any Cybermares in the store. They slowly opened the door out of the storage room and into the sales floor to peak. The room was nice, light blue walls with a green tile floor, shelves filled with what was in the storage room and counter to buy an item. The room was empty and, other than the storage room, there didn’t seem to be any other rooms. However, none of this is what grabbed Lyra and Bon Bon’s attention. At the opposite end of the store, was a wall entirely made of glass. It stretched to the whole wall so anypony could see what was happening outside. The first thing they noticed was a giant building. It almost looked like a futuristic factory. It was made of a harder version of the metal the Cybermare’s armor. Outside of it, they saw a swarm of Cybermares. Two of them were holding onto a red stallion who was screaming to let him go. The other Cybermares kept paroling the surrounding area. Bon Bon and Lyra quickly closed the door without making a sound. “Hey Doc,” Bon Bon whispered. “I think we found that base.” She pointed her hoof to the door. He peaked outside before seeing what was outside. He stepped back and quietly closed the door again. “I should have known it was a Cyber-Ship!” The Doctor whispered. Moon Dancer and Derpy also peaked out of the door to see the ship. They both came out with scared expressions (Bon Bon closed the door after). “How are we gonna get in there?” Derpy asked. She was louder than the others but only by a little (so little that a pony with their ear up to the door likely wouldn’t be able to hear anything). “Yeah,” Moon Dancer added. “With all of those Cybermares surely one of them will see us.” The ponies all stood in silence, each thinking of a way to get past. Derpy looked around the room and saw the buckets of paint on the shelves. She scanned all of them before seeing several buckets of silver coat paint. Suddenly, Derpy had an epiphany. “What if we covered ourselves in paint?!” Derpy asked excitedly. Though the blonde maned mare was excited, the others didn’t understand what she meant. Seeing this, she pointed her hoof at the silver paint. They all looked at her with a bewildered expression until the Doctor realized what she meant. “Of course!” he said, trying not to yell. “We can use the things in this storage room to disguise ourselves as Cybermares!” After having all of this spelled out to them, the others understood what Derpy meant. “Yeah!” Moon Dancer cheerfully whispered. “I’ll do it!” Lyra said excitedly. “I’m great at making costumes!” “It’s true,” Bon Bon said. “Before the Cybermares, Lyra would fill our apartment with costumes of book characters.” Lyra glared at Bon Bon as the former spy held back a snicker. Lyra sighed. “I mean, she’s not wrong. Anyway, like I was saying, I’ll make the props we’ll need. You guys get the paint. We’ll need a lot of it.” After saying that, Lyra trotted off to grab some cardboard and scissors. As she did that, Moon Dancer went over to the shelf and levitated several cans of silver paint over to them with her magic. When the cans had gotten there, Lyra had already gotten several big sheets of cardboard and had begun to cut them. “So, what are we going to do?” Moon Dancer asked. “As good as Lyra is at making costumes, I’m sure that they won’t be fooled if they see us.” “Yes,” the Doctor answered. “That’s why we need to stay far away from all of them. When we get inside, me and Derpy will look for the Tardis and look for some type of archive to see what we can do to power the Cyber-Ship, and Cybermares, off. Meanwhile you three look around to find any other ponies that haven't been converted yet.” Moon Dancer and Bon Bon nod. “You’ve got it Doctor,” Bon Bon said. After the Doctor gave the explanation, Lyra walked up to the others with 3 pairs of wings and 3 horns (though it looked like the horns were just party hats). All of them were covered in silver paint and had a subtle looking string. “I made wings and horns for everyone,” she said as she walked up to Bon Bon. She began to hand both items to the Bon Bon and the Doctor. She then turned to Moon Dancer. “I didn’t make you anything since you already have the wings and horn, being an alicorn and all.” Moon Dancer nodded. She handed Derpy a horn who put it on immediately with a big contagious smile. “If we put these on,” Lyra started, “the Cybermares might think we’re one of them.” She levitated the buckets of silver paint and a brush over to her with her magic. “So,” she started, “who wants to be painted first?” Bon Bon stepped up. “Will this really look like a Cybermare?” Lyra dunked her brush into the bucket and started applying the paint to Bon Bon’s coat. “I’m sure it’ll be fine,” the unicorn said before putting a silver mane net over Bon Bon to not paint her mane as well. In the Cyber-Ship: Part 1After Lyra painted everyone (including herself), she walked over to a box and brought out six pairs of rounded sunglasses. “I saw these and thought that they looked like the Cybermares’ ‘eyes,’” Lyra said. She gave the other four the glasses out they all put on their accessories. Once they all had their wings, glasses, horn and paint, they looked at each other. “This is never gonna work,” Bon Bon said. “It’ll be fine Bon Bon,” Lyra said. “Yeah,” Derpy cheered. “Alright everypony,” the Doctor started, “it’s time we go.” The Doctor slowly walked to the door, imitating how the Cybermares walked. When he opened the door, all five of the painted ponies walked in a way similar to the Cybermares. Even Derpy (who preferred flying) was walking on the ground. With all five on the sales floor, they could see all of the Cybermares outside. None of the Cybermares were looking at the store. The Doctor led the way out of the and opened the door as quickly as possible. However, when he opened the door, he didn’t notice the bell that was hanging on the door, so when he opened it, a distinct jingle was heard. The other Cybermares all looked to find the source of the bell. The Doctor thought for a moment. A dead giveaway that they weren’t Cybermares would be to act like they were being suspicious or show any emotion at all. The Doctor decided to just continue walking forward like the Cybermares were still looking the other way. He hoped that the others would pick up his hint and go along with it. Luckily, his hope paid off. The others followed him out like the bell hadn’t rung. They just walked like a Cybermare. Seeing nothing of interest, the patrolling Cybermares went back to what they were doing before. The Doctor and the others walked into the giant building. The doors were automatic and opened when the ponies got close to them. The inside, like the outside, was made of metal. The other doors in the ship looked similar to the entrance door with opening automatically. There were two hallways they could go down. One led to what looked like a factory. The other was several different rooms that looked like storage rooms. The Doctor looked over to Moon Dancer and whispered, “We’ll go down there and look for a way to turn this place off.” He pointed to the hall with storage rooms. “You all go through the factory and save anypony that hasn’t been converted yet. Stay together, and if you see a big purple box, let me know.” Under his breath, he mumbled, “This would be so much easier with my Sonic Screwdriver.” Moon Dancer nodded and motioned for Lyra and Bon Bon to follow her as she marched down the hallway. The Doctor motioned for Derpy to follow him as they walked down the hall. ***** The Doctor and Derpy walked for five minutes down the hall. The Time Lord was looking back and forth from room to room trying to find anything that looked like it could be like a library or archive room. While the two of them were walking, they could see a Cybermare walking on the other side of the hall coming towards them. The two tried to play their parts and didn’t try to look suspicious. As they walked past, the Cybermare looked back at them, but then kept going forward. After only another minute, the Doctor walked into a room with what looked to be several books. “This must be it!” The Doctor whispered. He went up to grab a book, but it only moved out a bit. When it did, a translucent Cybermare appeared. Derpy was about to scream out, but the Doctor put a hoof to her mouth before she could. The translucent Cybermare said, “Our current plan: refuel the Cyber-Ship, move it out of the forest and to a local city, assimilate everypony there and assimilate the rest of the population of this planet before moving on.” The Doctor looked at Derpy. “Instead of books, they keep things called ‘holograms’ that record them,” the Doctor explained. “It’s been so long I’ve nearly forgotten that. Well, I suppose a few years in Ponyville and even more since I’ve been on one of these will do that.” He then turned his attention to the “holographic” Cybermare. “So that’s their plan. Business as usual it seems.” “But we can stop them, right?!” Derpy asked determined. “Of course we can!” the Doctor replied. “But first, we need to find if one of these shows how to deactivate the ship.” The Earth pony looked around the room then to the “book” he had pulled out. “This could only have been ‘recorded’ recently. They must be in some type of chronological order.” Derpy went up to one of the books and studied it before seeing what looked to be a small Cybermare moving on what would be the spine. “Hey Doc,” Derpy said. “Look at this.” The Doctor went over to look at what the pegasi had pointed out. “Hmm,” he thought. “I didn’t notice that. That might be useful.” After looking, he went back to what would be chronologically the furthest point back the holograms could be recorded. When the Doctor pulled it out, it was a Cybermare with a very different design to the ones Derpy had seen. She looked back at the more resent ones. On the spines were all Cybermares, they all looked the same. Except for a few a little back. On it was a purple mare. She seemed to be a unicorn. She had a darker purple mane with a red streak. When Derpy saw this, she only said one thing. “Twilight?” ***** Moon Dancer and the others were walking down the hall into the factory. There looked to be a conveyor belt that moved automatically that carried pieces of metal. The metal was taken to different parts of the factory that the three couldn’t see. The only thing that they could see was where a piece of metal was bended and shaped by a mechanical arm to look like a horn before being taken to another part of the factory. Besides the Cybermares themselves, this was the most futuristic thing that any of the ponies had ever seen. The Cybermare look alikes continued to walk down the factory seeing more and more pieces of armor being molded. As they were walking, Moon Dancer looked to her side and saw a large room. It had a large blue box and the words “Police Public Call Box” on it. She pointed the room out to the other mares. As low as she could speak, she said, “That must be the ‘Tardis’ the Doctor was talking about! I’ll go in and try to find that ‘Sonic Screwdriver’ he was mumbling about. You two go on, I’ll catch up with you.” The two mares nodded as Moon Dancer walked into Tardis hoping that what she was looking for actually looked like a screwdriver. Meanwhile, Lyra and Bon Bon continued walking down the hall looking for the anypony that hadn’t been turned into a Cybermare yet. They passed the end of the factory. The armor pieces were being funneled into separate rooms. It wasn’t much further until they made it to the assimilation room. The room looked just like any other. Mostly grey from metal. It was a bit bigger than the other rooms though not by much. On the wall at the very end of the room was a line of restraints. Only four of them were in use. The four all had ponies in varying amounts of Cybermare armor on them. There was also a small door next to the last restraint. On the ceiling was a robotic arm, not unlike the ones in factory. Next to it, on the ceiling, was an opening in the wall that a conveyor belt (seemingly from the factory) was going through. The arm seemed to be picking up the armor pieces off the conveyor belt and putting them on the ponies. The pony with the least amount of armor was a red coated male pegasi. This seemed to be the same stallion that Bon Bon and Lyra had previously seen getting dragged into the ship. The next white coated unicorn mare. Her legs seemed to be the only thing that had any metal on them and there was something on her horn that looked similar to a tennis ball. Beside her was a yellow Earth pony mare. She had a bit more armor than the unicorn though not much. The very last seemed to be a unicorn. Seemed to at least. She was almost entirely covered in metal. The only thing that showed there was a pony under all of it was the hole in the head of the armor that showed the side of a lilac mare’s face and horn. For all Lyra and Bon Bon knew, she was an alicorn since they couldn’t see if she had wings or not, but they (correctly) assumed she was just a unicorn. While all the others looked nervous, angry, or at least showed some emotion, she showed almost no emotion whatsoever other than slight annoyance. After a second of the two imposter Cybermares staring at the victims in their restraints, the victims took notice of the two. “Stay away from us!” the pegasi shouted out in panic. His voice seemed very high, especially for a stallion. “Yeah dude,” the yellow mare started, “this is so not tubular.” Her voice seemed more laid back (though still clearly upset) like a hipster stereo type. “Quite!” The lilac unicorn yelled, almost being able to see an artery. She then took a deep breath and he face returned to a mostly emotionless expression. “Yeah,” the white unicorn piped up. “I mean, those aren’t even Cybermares.” She rolled her eyes. “No need to worry.” The ponies in restraints all looked at Lyra and Bon Bon. While most would need to be looking for it, there were some lines of sweat that was slowly, but surely, undoing Lyra’s painting on their coats. The ponies saw that the white unicorn was, in fact, telling the truth. “Who are you?” the red pegasi asked. “Yeah man,” the yellow mare added. “We’re here to get you out of this place,” Lyra quietly responded, signaling for them to do the same. “I’m Lyra and this is Bon Bon.” “And we’ve got some friends that know how to take down the Cybermares. Hope filled the closest three ponies. The, almost entirely armored, unicorn rolled an eye. “Please,” she said, a bit louder than Lyra seemed to have wanted. Do you really think that anypony could take down the Cybermares?!” She almost laughed when she finished the sentence but caught herself and went back to her emotionless expression. Bon Bon simply nodded as an answer. Seeing this, the unicorn rolled her eyes. “Well, leave me here. I’d rather not die in whatever game you are playing.” “Sorry, but we can’t do that,” Lyra interjected. “We’ve gotta save you after all.” “Don’t mind her,” the yellow earth pony said. “She’s been saying all this zippy zap about the Cybermares ever since I got here. It’s really been bumming me out.” “Well,” Bon Bon started, not wanting to start a loud fight and alert the Cybermares, “let’s get you all down here.” “What was that?” a robotic voice asked. Rounding the corner, a Cybermare saw Bon Bon and Lyra standing adjacent from the restrained ponies. “What are you two doing here?” The Cybermare asked. Author's Note Hey guys, just wanted to say, thank you all for reading my story. It really means a lot. Also, just to let you know, I’ve had these past chapters ready for about a year now. There are three more left that I have to finish so they’ll be a “hiatus” for a while, but I am working on the ending. Thank you all again. In the Cyber-Ship part 2Lyra and Bon Bon stood in frightened silence in front of the Cybermare. “What are you two doing here?” The robot asked once more. Bon Bon looked at Lyra who looked as though she would never move again. She walked forward to the Cybermare. “We were ordered to come here,” Bon said in a voice that sounded just like a Cybermare. “We were ordered to fasten the restraints on all the ponies.” “That’s what I was sent to do,” the Cybermare said. Lyra and Bon Bon stood there, not knowing how to respond. An grey aura began to surrond Bon Bon as the Cybermare used its magic to lift her up. The force of being pulled up by the magic pushed Bon Bon’s sunglasses off her and showed her eyes to the Cybermare. The Cybermare, not saying another word, began to push her over to the restraints with its magic. “Hey, stop that!” Lyra shouted. She began to use her own magic to try to free her friend from the Cybermare’s magical grip. However, before Lyra could get far at all, the robotic arm on the ceiling grabbed her which disrupted the pony’s magic. Both Lyra and Bon Bon struggled to try to get out of their confinement but to no avail. Both were locked into the restraints, now with part of their hooves hanging from the wall. The robotic arm came back with the tennis ball like device that was on the white unicorn's horn. The arm stuck the ball like device on Lyra’s horn. When Lyra tried to use her horn, nothing happened. Her magic seemed to be absorbed by the tennis ball device. The two struggled yet again to get out of their restraints. “Thanks for trying dudes,” the yellow mare said. “But it looks like the universe just wants this to happen.” “No!” Bon Bon cried out. “I’m not gonna get turned too!” “I will be back soon,” the Cybermare said. It walked past the door out of the chamber. The two struggled in the restraints trying to get out but accepted their fates. Just around the corner, to the point none of the ponies could see, they could hear something was going on. It sounded as if a fight was going on just beyond the wall. The sounds of metal hitting the floor and something, seemingly fleshier, hitting the floor as well. After just a brief second, maybe two, of this, a much louder clank of metal hitting the metal floor was heard. The limp body of the Cybermare was tossed into the Assimilation chamber as a familiar figure walked in. “Moon Dancer!” Lyra and Bon Bon cried in joy. Moon Dancer stood in the entrance looking much more different than when she left to investigate the Tardis. Her glasses seemed to have fallen off, the coat paint on her face looked nothing like the face of a Cybermare now, and her mane, which had been in a mane net (like the others) to conceal it from the Cybermares, was now out and very frizzy like someone had just electrocuted her. “I found that screwdriver,” Moon Dancer said in a muffled voice due to what she was holding. She held the Sonic Screwdriver in her mouth. She spit the screwdriver into her hoof and wrapped it around the screwdriver so it wouldn't fall. “Don’t turn it on when you are holding this part,” she pointed to the tip of the Sonic, “in your mouth” She then pointed back to her mane and coat paint. Silently understanding, Lyra and Bon Bon both decided not to push further on how Moon Dancer looked. Moon Dancer walked over to one of Bon Bon’s restraints and activated the Sonic Screwdriver. There was a small sound and light coming out of the tip of the screwdriver before the restraint opened. “Wow!” Bon Bon said in surprise. She got her hoof out of the restraint while Moon Dancer unlocked the other restraints. Bon Bon dropped to the ground after all of her restraints were removed. “Thank you,” Bon Bon said. “But we have to be quick before another Cybermare comes.” Moon Dancer nodded and went on to unlock the next pony in restraints (Lyra) while Bon Bon looked at the other door in the room. She hadn’t thought much of it, but she had a thought. “Hey, Moon Dancer,” Bon Bon said to get the Alicorn’s attention. “I’ll go see if there’s anything in this room.” She then pointed to the door. “Good idea!” Moon Dancer replied before continuing to use the Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver. Bon Bon started to the door. When the door opened, the Earth pony saw a reflection of the previous room. It was like looking into a mirror. The placement of the restraints, the hole in the wall and the Robotic arm were mirrored. Other than that, though, the room was empty with no pony but Bon Bon herself. The only thing in this room that wasn’t in the first (other than the lack of ponies) was another door across the door Bon Bon came in from. Seeing nothing that needed investigating, Bon Bon went to the next room. Again, it was a mirror of the last room with a door at the other end. Bon Bon began to run through the room, and room after room, it was the same thing. She ran through dozens of rooms before she eventually came to a room that had no door to another room. Bon Bon though in her head and she must have run through at least 48 rooms! “If there are 10 places for ponies to be restrained,” Bon Bon mused to herself for a moment. “That means they could turn 480 ponies into Cybermares at a time! That’s how they were able to make so many Cybermares!” Seeing that there was no pony else in any of the rooms, she ran back to the room the others were in. In it, all the ponies were now off the wall (even the unicorn covered in armor). “Good job Moon Dancer,” Bon Bon said. Moon Dancer gave a smile and a nod to Bon Bon. “Now, I believe some introductions are in order.” The mare walked over to where the others were standing. “I told you me and Lyra’s name, but this,” she pointed to Moon Dancer, “is Moon Dancer, our leader.” Moon Dancer blushed. “I don’t know if I’d say leader. You’re more leader like than me anyway.” Bon Bon rolled her eyes and turned back to the others. “We’re trying to take down the Cybermares, and if the Doctor gets back, we’ll be able to destroy this place.” “Woah, no kidding dude!?” the yellow earth pony asked. “Anyway, what are your names?” Lyra asked. “I'm Red Herring,” The red stallion said. “Tree Huggers my name,” the yellow mare said. “Vinyl Scratch’s the name,” the white unicorn said. “But you might know me by my stage name, DJ Pon-3.” Lyra’s eyes widened. “DJ Pon-3?!” she said. “I used to listen to your music all the time! I hardly recognized you without your glasses or headphones.” Vinyl shrugged. Moon Dancer turned to the lilac unicorn covered in armor. “And you?” she asked. “What’s your name?” The unicorn stood for a moment, almost as if trying to remember. Then she opened her mouth to speak. “Cyberlight Glimmare.” “Cyberlight Glimmare?” Lyra responded, almost confused by the name. The lilac unicorn nodded. Ignoring the, even for ponies, odd name, Bon Bon interjected to keep Lyra from talking. “Good to meet all of you.” “One other thing Bon Bon,” Lyra said. She held the tennis ball like device in her hoof. “Moon Dancer was able to get this thing off our horns, but we still can’t use our magic. What should we do?” The Earth pony thought to herself for a moment. “We’ll see what the Doctor knows about them. He seems to know about these things.” Just as Bon Bon said that, the sound of several metal hooves hitting the ground could be heard from the other side of the wall. “Ponies spotted inside the ship,” a Cybermare cried. Hearing this, Moon Dancer pulled the Cybermare that was currently on the ground back behind the wall with her magic. With fear in their hearts, they all crowded next to the wall so they could avoid the gaze of the Cybermares (except for Cyberlight though from where she was standing, the Cybermares would have to look carefully to a part of her armor behind the wall). All of the ponies hid, trying not to give the Cybermares a hint as to where they were. The sound of metal hooves hitting the metal floor got louder and louder. The sound was right behind the walls the ponies crowded next around! And then... nothing. The sound went past the entrance to the room and went further away. Taking a risk, Lyra stuck her head out to see what had happened. The Cybermares were running in the opposite direction of the room the ponies were in. For a moment, the ponies all breathed a sigh of relief that they had avoided the Cybermares. But then, a thought came over Lyra, Bon Bon, and Moon Dancer. If the Cybermares weren’t coming after them... who were they going after? ***** “What did you say Derpy?” the Doctor asked. Derpy was looking at the “books” on the shelf of the archive and what looked to be Twilight Sparkle on spine of one of them. Not answering the Doctor’s question, Derpy pulled the “book” and a holographic Twilight Sparkle appeared. “What?” the Doctor asked in shock. “Twilight Sparkle? What was she doing here. Recording no less!” Twilight looked a bit worse for wear. Her mane, despite seemingly being cut, looked much messier and unkept. Her tail looked even worse, looking like it hadn’t been cut in years and given less attention than her mane. She had very dark bags under her eyes like she hadn’t slept in Celestia knows how long. She also seemed to lack wings implying she hadn’t or didn’t become an alicorn. “Whoa,” The Holographic Twilight said. “So, this is how those ‘Cybermares’ recorded their videos. Ok.” Twilight seemed to be looking into some kind of recorder. The image cut out for just a moment before coming back with Twilight standing a bit more serious. “Hello, my name is Twilight Sparkle. For the past six years I have worked in Fillydelphia as an accountant.” The Doctor was confused hearing this. He didn’t know as much as he probably should about the new princess, but from what he heard from Pinkie Pie’s talking, he was sure that she never lived in Fillydelphia. “On one of my afternoon walks, I decided to go deep into the forest and found this ship. It seems like these ‘Cybermares’ are robots that assimilate the ponies of wherever they go.” Twilight paused for a moment. “I can use that,” she said. “Princess Celestia has wronged me. I should have been a student of her school when I was younger and though I studied for months just to get in, I was given an impossible test and was humiliated. Ever since that day I’ve been planning my revenge on the princess. Fillydelphia had a position for an accountant that would give me enough time to plan so I took it. For the past few years, I've even had to cast a spell on myself to not think of my plans in my sleep, lest Luna see them.” The Doctor was puzzled by the hologram's comments. What was changed so much that Twilight had not only not been accepted to Celestia’s school but also was filled with hatred towards the princess. Then, like a pile of bricks falling off of a construction site, it hit him. When Derpy and him had gone back to see the Rainboom, they accidentally blocked the window inside of Celestia’s castle during the Rainboom. What if in that room was a young Twilight Sparkle taking her entrance exam for Celestia’s school? And, seeing as when the Rainboom touched the Doctor he got a boost of strength, what if the Rainboom was supposed to give that burst of strength to Twilight for her test? All these thoughts were swirling through the Doctor’s head as he watched the Hologram continue to talk. “I plan to use these robots to take revenge on Celestia and Luna,” the holographic unicorn continued. “These, for lack of a better word, ‘books’ have all of the instructions for how to restart this ship and my magic should be more than sufficient in turning it back on.” The video cut out once again before coming back once more. However, this time, instead of looking curious like the first time or serious like the second, she now looked fearful. She stood closer to what was recording what she was doing and was checking her back. A banging sound could be heard on something behind her. Twilight looked into the recorder. “I made a mistake,” she yelled. “I never should have turned those things on. I couldn’t control them! They had a mind of their own. Please save yourselves!” After yelling that, several Cybermares came into frame before the feed cut out once again; though this time, it didn’t come back. The Doctor looked to his companion and saw that Derpy looked terrified with tears wlling up in her eyes. Seeing her distress, the Doctor put a hoof over her shoulder (trying not to smug her coat paint) and tried to comfort her. “It’ll be alright,” the Doctor reassured Derpy. “I-It will?” Derpy asked. “Yes,” the Doctor answered. “All we need to do now is set the timeline right. And I think I know how we can do just that. All we need to do is deactivate this Cyber-Ship and find the Tardis. Are you ready?” “Yeah!” Derpy exclaimed. The Doctor straightened up his and Derpy’s Cybermare disguise. “Well then,” The Doctor said as he made his way to the door. “Allon-” Before the Doctor could finish his catchphrase, he opened the door and saw a dozen Cybermares were all standing in front of him and Derpy. The Cybermares were all seemingly charging up their horns for a blast of magic. “sy,” the Doctor finished. Author's Note It’ll take a pretty long time for the next one. Some personal stuff. Three more chapters now. In the Cyber-Ship part 3The Doctor looked at the army of Cybermares standing in front of him and Derpy. They stood there as the Cybermares were charging their horns. “Run!” The Doctor screamed. He jumped and landed on one of the horns of the Cybermares and bounced off it. He continued this until he hit solid ground with the Cybermares behind him. Seeing this, Derpy opened her wings and, though the area was somewhat cramped, flew over the robots beneath her and ran with the Doctor. The duo galloped until they ran headfirst into three other ponies. It was Moon Dancer, Bon Bon, and Lyra. “Doctor!” Moon Dancer exclaimed. “I’m so glad we found you! The Cybermares know you’re here! We came to warn you two!” Moon Dancer then looked behind the Doctor and saw the army of Cybermares. “We had a guess,” The Doctor replied before running away from them. “Follow me and Derpy!” Behind the Doctor’s three friends were four ponies with varying amounts of Cybermare armor on them. “They’re with us,” Moon Dancer said. “Well, let’s all go,” The Doctor said while continuing running with the others behind him. “I found the place where we can turn this whole ship off!” “Really?!” Moon Dancer asked. “Where!?” The Doctor looked around before running into a nearby room. He motioned for the rest of them to follow in. The other eight ponies rushed in after him. Inside the room were many odd-looking machines. Most stretched into the walls and had several looks in them. There was one at the very back of the room that stretched out to all the other machines in the room. “That one!” the Doctor shouted, rushing towards the machine. All of the ponies ran over to the large machine. “Stand back everypony,” Bon Bon shouted. She raised he hind legs ready to kick. However, before she could kick, the Doctor put himself in between the candy like pony and the machine. “Are you mad!?” the Doctor shouted. “If we destroy the machine, the whole ship will blow up with us inside it!” Bon Bon stared at the Doctor with an exauhsted and frustrated expression. “Why didn’t you start with that!?” Cyberlight Glimmare walked up. “Then how do you intend to turn this ship off?” the lavender mare asked. “I agree,” Moon Dancer said. “How are we gonna turn this place off.” The Doctor gave a chuckle pointed to the Sonic Screwdriver that Moon Dancer held. “With this,” the Doctor started, “I can turn the ship off without blowing us all up, all I need is a little time.” “Well, we can get you time!” Lyra said. As she said that, the door to the room opened and several Cybermares could be seen just outside. “Hold them back everypony!” Bon Bon shouted. All the ponies ran at the Cybermares with the unicorns charging up their horns to release a magic beam. The only three left were the Doctor, Derpy, and Cyberlight Glimmare. The Doctor held up his Sonic Screwdriver. “Ahh, it’s been too long since I’ve had this in my hooves.” The Doctor pointed the Sonic at the machine and turned it on. “So, you from Gallifrey?” Cyberlight asked. The Doctor stopped for a moment to look at the mare that was almost a Cybermare. “How did you know that?” The Doctor asked, confusion in his voice. “I may not be a Cybermare yet,” the mare said, “but the features of this armor still work. And they say you are from a planet known as Gallifrey.” “Ahh, I see,” the Doctor said. He went back to using his Sonic Screwdriver to turn the machine off. “It also says that on Gallifrey was the Cybermares’ greatest enemy.” “Oh really,” The Doctor said while holding the screwdriver in his mouth. He was starting to get nervous, but he didn’t want to stop just in case it was nothing. “Yes. Also, the Cybermare’s records show that the last time anyone saw him, he was an Earth pony who wielded a Sonic Screwdriver.” Cyberlight started to quickly charge up her horn. Before the blast Cyberlight was about to send off could finish, Derpy saw what was about to happen and screamed “Doc, look out!” This stopped Cyberlight from firing off her blast and made Derpy charge at her, knocking Cyberlight over. The impact of hitting the ground made Cyberlight fire off the blast just over the Doctor’s shoulder. “Why’d you do that!?” The Doctor yelled through the Sonic Screwdriver. “I’m trying to help us get out of here. I’m on your side.” Cyberlight laughed. “You’re not on my side,” Cyberlight said. “You are the furthest thing from being on my side.” At that time, Bon Bon looked back and saw the fighting between the three ponies. “What are you doing?!” Bon Bon yelled. She ran up to the fighting ponies to try to break up the fighting. “She’s trying to stop the Doctor!” Derpy yelled. “You all have no idea what this is all about,” Cyberlight said. “They bring true equality to all ponies no matter who they are.” “But what’s the purpose of it if you kill so many others to get it?” Bon Bon asked, fire in her eyes. “It is a price that must be paid for a better Equestria.” Cyberlight said. “No, the whole universe!” As she finished that, Bon Bon was filled with rage. She began to fight with the partial Cybermare. Derpy attempted to get in on the action, but despite her impressive sneak attack on Cyberlight Glimmare before, Derpy was fairly weak. The ponies tussled in the room for several minutes. The ponies at the door occasionally saw the fight inside the room but were unable to help due to the growing swarm of Cybermares that were trying to get in. The swarm was small at first, but then, as more Cybermares came, the ones that were knocked down got back up, and the ponies were growing more tired fending them off, the swarm was more powerful. While all of this was happening, the Doctor was still working to shut the entire ship down. While his Sonic Screwdriver was powerful, even it took a long time to deactivate the Cybership. The Doctor also had to occasionally dodge an attack from Cyberlight or one of the other Cybermare’s horns. Bon Bon, Derpy and Cyberlight fought for what seemed like an eternity. After several minutes fighting back and forth while the Doctor was working, Bon Bon was able to get a hard hit on Cyberlight in the side, leaving a dent in the side of her armor. Cyberlight looked down at her armor. “I can’t die here,” Cyberlight said. “This isn’t the last you’ll see of me Doctor! The Cybermares will live on no matter what!” With that, Cyberlight’s horn glowed before she vanished. Bon Bon and Derpy were left panting. “You... almost done... Doctor?” “Almost,” the Doctor said. “I just need another minute, maybe two.” Bon Bon looked back and saw that the other ponies were on their knees and incapable of moving being held down by other Cybermares. “I don’t know if we have that!” A Cybermare stepped forward. Its horn began to glow. He fired it both Bon Bon and then turned at shot Derpy with the magical blast. Both fell and crashed into the nearest wall. The Doctor looked back (keeping the Sonic Screwdriver pointed at the machine) and saw Cybermare look at him too, its horn starting to charge. The Doctor looked back at the machine, closed his eyes, and braced himself for immense pain. ... But it never came. He looked back and saw that the Cybermare was just standing there. And it wasn’t just that one, all the Cybermares outside of the room were standing The Doctor walked over to the Cybermare. He put a hoof in front of its face. Nothing. He pushed the Cybermare over and it had no reaction. The Doctor began to laugh. “We did it!” “W-we did?” Moondance asked. “Do you see them moving?!” The Doctor asked, barely holding back his excitement. “We really did it!” Lyra cheered. The Doctor looked around. At one side, he saw Bon Bon starting to get up. At the other, he saw Derpy still laying on the floor. He ran over to Derpy. He helped her back to her hooves. “Are you okay Derpy.” Derpy gave a hardy nod before looking down to her side. The was a large bruise on her side. “That doesn’t look good. No worries though. I’m not called ‘The Doctor’ for nothing. I have something to fix you right up in the Tardis.” “Thank you, Doctor,” Moondancer said. “Yeah dude!” Tree Hugger said. “We’d be dead if it wasn’t for you!” “Ah, don’t mention it,” The Doctor said. “I couldn’t have done it without you lot either.” “But what about that one mare?” Red Harring asked. “She said she’d be back.” “Her Cybermare armor was deactivated,” the Doctor said. “She can’t use it. Though she does seem to be a powerful unicorn. You must stay vigilant. But we need to celebrate victories where we can find them. So tonight, let’s rest.”And with that, the Doctor collapsed from exhaustion and slept. Author's Note I’m back everypony. Sorry for being gone so long. I did not have any motivation for a very long time, but I started watching the show and my motivation is back! I’ll try to get the rest of them out in about a month or so. Back HomeThe Doctor woke up in a panic. He remembered the Cybermares that and jumped up from his rest. He looked around and didn’t see anything. Underneath him was a bed of hay. He got up and looked around. He was outside the Cyber-ship laying in one of the former buildings in town. He looked outside the room he was in and saw Derpy walking around the hall. “Derpy?” The Doctor asked. Derpy turned around. “Doc? You’re awake!” Derpy flew over to him and gave him a big hug. “Gosh, I didn’t know if you were gonna wake up! The others told me they could hear a heartbeat, but I never left for the past few days.” The Doctor smiled. “Thank you Derpy, you are a true companion.” The Doctor stood there for a moment before thinking. “Wait, did you say the past few days!?” Derpy looked at the Doctor with a confused face. “Uh, yeah.” “Well how many!?” Derpy thought for a moment. “Uhh, well, let me think. If it was then and this is now… five days!” “Five days!” The Doctor exclaimed. “Blimey, how tired was I?!” “I don’t know,” Derpy said. “Probably tired enough to sleep for five days.” She laughed to herself. As Derpy was giggling, Moon Dancer walked by. “Oh, Doctor!” She walked over to the two ponies. “It’s so good to see you. I’m glad you’re awake. For a moment I was afraid you’d never wake up.” “Yes,” the Doctor said. “I apologize for my tiredness. I suppose staying up all night to find a way to get to the Cybermares wears a stallion out.” The other ponies laughed at the doctor’s comment. The Doctor then remembered the last things that happened before he collapsed. “Has there been sightings of the mare that ran away?” Moon Dancer shook her head. “Nothing so far. The last that anypony has seen of her was her running away. I was able to send word to the ponies back in Canterlot about everything that happened. Hopefully they’ll report if they see anything.” The Doctor nodded. “Good,” he said. “She shouldn’t have the armor on her side, but with her magic, I don’t know if that matters with how talented she seems to be with magic.” “Either way,” Moon Dancer started, “we need to rebuild. Being an Alicorn, I suppose I need to step up and lead us to reformation.” The Doctor looked at Moon Dancer’s wings and horn. “That reminds me,” the Doctor said. “When I’m from, you’re not one of the Alicorns. How did you become an alicorn?” “Well,” Moon Dancer said. “I was Princess Celestia’s top student for a few years. Then, after learning about the power of friendship, Princess Celestia bestowed me with my Aliconhood. It was only a month or two before the Cybermares attacked.” The Doctor thought for a moment. It sounded remarkably similar to Twilight Sparkle’s journey to becoming an Alicorn. “I see,” the Doctor said. “How fascinating.” The Doctor shook off the idea and looked back to Moon Dancer. “Is there anything we can do to help before we leave?” “No,” Moon Dancer said plainly. “You’ve done so much for us already; I can’t ask for anything more. Just get back to your time.” “Thank you,” the Doctor said. “We’ll set this all right.” “Is there anything we can do for you?” Moon Dancer asked. The Doctor thought. “As a matter of fact...” ***** The Doctor and Derpy looked at the Tardis. “Oh, it’s been too long since I’ve seen you, you beauty,” the Doctor said. “I will never lose you again!” Lyra, Bon Bon, and the three ponies they had saved from the Cybermares all gathered around the two. “So, is this goodbye?” Lyra asked. “I don’t like goodbyes,” the Doctor said. “Time is an odd thingy. The timestream seems to bring ponies together constantly. Even when you think you’ll never see a pony again, time puts the two of you together again. It’s odd. I’ve thought that I would never see a pony for the rest of my life, but it seems we always come back together. So this isn’t goodbye, it’s just a... see you at another time.” Lyra nodded. “I like that.” Bon Bon walked up. “So can you do it?” she asked. “Now that you have that... thing,” she pointed to the Tardis, “can you stop all of this from happening?” “Hopefully,” the Doctor said. “But there’s something I need.” As the Doctor finished saying that, a voice rang out. “Doctor! I was able to find one!” Moon Dancer came running in. She was holding what looked to be a horn made of metal. “I was able to get a Cybermare horn out one of the supply boxes.” The Doctor smiled. “And there it is,” he said before grabbing the horn from Moon Dancer. “Why do you need one of those?” Bon Bon asked. “Well, a Sonic Screwdriver can do a lot of things,” the Doctor said. “Telekinesis is not one of those things.” The Doctor put the Sonic Screwdriver underneath the bottom of the horn before activating it. “If the horn has some type of pulse running through it, like the one my Sonic gives off, the horn is tricked into activating like it’s attached to a fully operational suit of Cybermare armor.” “What does that mean Doctor?” Lyra asked. The Doctor smiled. “It means I can do this.” The Doctor pointed the horn at a piece of rubble in the hallway a few feet away. The rubble was surrounded by a magical aura and began to float like a Unicorn used its magic on it. “Whoa!” Derpy said in awe. “So anyway,” The Doctor started. “I suppose we best be off.” He turned back to the Tardis and opened the door before turning back around. “Oh, one more thing. Don’t forget about the Pie Family farm. If find some gold there, it can breakdown the Cybermare armor enough to get you three out of it.” He pointed to Vinyl Scratch, Red Harring, and Tree Hugger. “Radical dude,” Tree Hugger said. “Oh,” the Doctor said, “and if you don’t mind, give the Cybermares a peaceful grave. They were normal ponies before turning.” Derpy leaned into the Doctor’s ear. “That was two things Doc.” The Doctor thought to himself. “I suppose it was. Anyway, me and my companion have to leave, thank you all for being such great hosts, but we’ve got to get back to our own world. I’m sure we’ll see each other again, so we’ll see you then. Allons-y!” The Doctor turned back and walked into the Tardis. “Bye guys!” Derpy said following the Doctor in. As she flew in, Derpy closed the door to the Tardis behind her. The Doctor hit several buttons on the center console and the Tardis’ engines began to roar. Outside the Tardis, the purple box began to fade in out of reality for a few seconds before disappearing completely. “Well,” Moon Dancer began, “I guess it’s our job to start cleaning up.” Bon Bon put a hoof to her forehead. “Yes my Princess!” The ponies laughed as they walked away. ***** “I can’t believe we were able to take out those Cybermares!” Derpy excitedly yelled. The Doctor chuckled. “Yeah, I can hardly believe it myself. We were incredibly lucky, that’s for sure.” Derpy stopped celebrating. “What do you mean?” Derpy asked. “Well,” The Doctor said, “those versions of the Cybermares were a bit older. They had to take ponies back to their factory to change them. Newer models don’t even have to take you back to a factory. They can just change you right on the spot.” “R-really?” Derpy asked petrified. “Yes,” the Doctor said in a matter-of-fact manner. He then looked and saw how scared Derpy was and went over to comfort her. “But don’t worry. They were destroyed in the Time War. They’re not coming back.” “Really?” Derpy asked. The Doctor nodded. “Yeah, they won’t be coming back.” In actuality, the Doctor had no idea if there were any more out there. He had assumed that all the Cybermares were wiped out, but this adventure showed that some survived. Despite the Doctor’s stress, Derpy seemed to be back to her normal bubbly self. ***** After a few minutes, the Tardis stopped shaking and they were at their destination. Derpy walked out ad saw Celestia’s Canterlot castle standing in front of her. “Hey, weren’t we here a few weeks ago?” Derpy asked. She studied the outside of the castle. At one of the walls of the castle, two ponies were standing, looking at the sky. One was an Earth pony, and the other was a pegasi. The pegasi was sitting on one of the pillars. “And is that... us?!” “Yes to both,” the Doctor answered nonchalantly. “How are you so calm about this?” Derpy looked at the Doctor. “Well, when you travel through time enough, you’re destined to meet another version of yourself, but I admit, it is fun to see another version of me after a while.” “So why are we back here?” Derpy asked. “Didn’t we already see the Sonic Rainboom?” “That’s the whole point,” the Doctor said. “When we saw the Rainboom, it altered history. The pillar fell and blocked the window behind it. That made it so Twilight Sparkle never passed her test. That was what caused the whole mess with the Cybermares.” “Wow,” Derpy said. “I know, it’s crazy how just one change can affect so much.” “So what do we do to stop it?” Derpy asked. The Doctor smiled. “I’m glad you asked.” He went back to the center console in the Tardis and grabbed the Cybermare horn. “You see, I didn’t take this horn just to make life as an Earth pony easier. We’re going to use it to keep that pillar from falling over.” “Cool!” Derpy said, excited. “But we’ll need to stay in the Tardis. We have to make sure we stay in the Tardis. It wouldn’t be good if our past selves saw us.” “You got it!” Derpy said. “I’ll need some help holding the horn steady while I use the Sonic Screwdriver,” the Doctor said. “Do you mind holding the horn?” “No problem!” “Brilliant!” the Doctor exclaimed. “Now get in position, it looks like it’s about to happen.” Derpy held the side of the Cybermare horn in her mouth. She pointed the tip of the horn to the pillar her past self was standing on. To her side, the Doctor stood behind the horn and held his Sonic Screwdriver in his mouth and activated it. The horn gave off a magical glow and the pillar was surrounded by a similar type of glow. The past form of the Doctor and Derpy, however, didn’t notice the glow as they were captivated by the race in the sky. The past Derpy jumped on the pillar in support of the young Rainbow Dash. However, instead of the pillar falling over like it did before, the pillar stayed up straight. “Are you okay Ms. Derpy?” the past Doctor asked, looking up at the pegasi. The past Derpy giggled before nodding. A loud noise rang in the sky before a ring of color rushed through the sky. Notably, nothing happened to the past Doctor. Both just stood in the light. “Woah,” the past Derpy said. “That was beautiful!” “I agree,” the Doctor said. “I’ve always heard of it, but I’ve never seen it up close.” He looked back at his Tardis. “Well, I’d say this has been a brilliant test run for the Tardis. What do you say we go back to the present? We might even have enough time to get a muffin.” “Then let’s go!” past Derpy cheered. She quickly flew off the pillar and flew to the Tardis. The past Doctor chuckled and followed her into the Tardis. After a moment the Tardis began to flash into and out of existence. “Woah,” Derpy said. “Is that what it looks like when this starts moving?” The Doctor laughed. “Yes, that’s what is looks like. It’s been so long since I’ve been able to see it. It’s brilliant isn’t it?” The Doctor set the screwdriver down and took the horn from Derpy. “I’ll store this for safe keeping,” The Doctor said. “Don’t want anypony else finding out about it. We’ve seen when something like that happens.” He chuckled to himself. “Now then, I suppose we should get back to our Ponyville, yeah?” “Yeah!” Derpy exclaimed. The Doctor smiled. “Now that’s the excitement I love to see.” “Allons-y!” Derpy cheered. The Doctor laughed. “Yes.” The Doctor closed the door, trotted over to the central control panel, and pressed a few buttons. The Tardis’ engine began to roar as the ship began to move as the two were heading back to their (hopefully normal) present. “Hang on,” Derpy said. “Where did the other two go.” The Doctor looked up. “The other who?” “You know, those ones that left before us,” Derpy said. “Do you mean our past selves?” the Doctor asked. Derpy shook her head yes. “I’d guess back to their time,” the responded nonchalantly. “But,” Derpy started, “aren’t we going there?” The Doctor thought for a moment before laughing. “You ponies never change.” “What?” Derpy asked, now very confused. “See,” the doctor started, “everypony assumes that time is a strict progression of cause to effect. But actually, from a non-linear non-subjective standpoint, it’s more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey wimey... stuff!” To emphasize this, the Doctor motioned his hooves like they were making a ball. Derpy, looking more confused now than ever, frowned. “I still don’t get,” Derpy said, holding back a tear. The Doctor laughed again. “Oh, don’t worry. I have to explain that to my companions all the time. They never get it. Besides, for your first real adventure with me, it was smart of you to pick up on what you did. It would take most ponies three or four of them to really get it.” Really!” Derpy said, now incredibly happy. “Swear on it,” the Doctor said, now happy his friend was happy again. “There’s likely another version of Ponyville with a few small changes.” The Doctor paused. “Actually, the only change might have been that we were there in the first place.” Derpy looked at the Doctor completely befuddled. However, she still wore a smile because she liked that the Doctor was telling her these things. “Either way,” the Doctor concluded, “it’s a different Ponyville than where we’re going. Speaking of which, looks like we’re almost there.” ***** It took another few minutes, but the two time travelers eventually landed. Both looked at the door. Both were nervous that it would be ruined again. But despite all that, they both moved towards the door. Both stood there until pushing the door open. Outside was a bright light town with several ponies walking all around. It was Ponyville in its purest form. The Doctor gave a subtle sigh and said, “It’s great to see this beautiful town once again.” “Yeah!” Derpy cheered. “Well, I’m assuming you're a bit tired,” the Doctor said, looking at some of the bags underneath the mail pony’s eyes. “Why don’t get some sleep?” “Yeah, okay,” Derpy said, her sleepiness catching up with her. “Oh, and one more thing,” the Doctor stopped Derpy. He looked around and found a small pouch. He grabbed it and threw it over to Derpy who was just barely able to catch it in her wing before it hit the ground. “That has five bits in it. That should be enough to buy five muffins. That adventure was more than I thought it would be, consider it an apology. Thanks for being a great companion.” Derpy looked at the bag in her wing. An instinct in her told her to instantly run to the muffin stand and buy as many as she could. But she didn’t. She ran to the Doctor and wrapped her wings around him in a hug. The Doctor stopped for a moment. He looked at his companion. He felt the joy of all of Equestria in Derpy’s hug. He hugged his friend back before they separated. Derpy then looked down at the bag and, her other half coming back, waved a hoof at the Doctor before running out of the Tardis. The Doctor laughed. He always appreciated any companion he had, and Derpy was no exception. He stood in the Tardis and thought of what to do. His immediate idea to go get a banana daiquiri, but he remembered something. The Cybership. Just because they had destroyed it in the other timeline, it could still be functional now. He rushed over to the center console and input several coordinates. The motor began to roar loudly again before the Tardis was moving again. However, he wasn’t traveling through time, just space. The Tardis stopped soon after and a quietness could be heard. The Doctor looked out and saw the Cybership once more. It was bleaker and seemed to show more age than before. The Doctor stalked through the familiar halls. He came across the door that in the previous timeline, was attacked by several Cybermares. He walked in and looked around. He looked at the machine in the center. It was off, but if worked on, it could easily turn back on. The Doctor wanted to ensure that it never could. He walked over to it and pulled out his Sonic Screwdriver. He held the end up to the machine and turned the screwdriver on. It was much duller than the previous time he did it. Before he and his cohorts were being attacked by an army of Cybermares. This time, he just had to hold his Sonic steady. That’s not to say it was without any stress. A wrong move could accidentally restart the machine and power every Cybermare on. The Doctor, however, kept steady and focused on the Sonic Screwdriver and the machine in front of him. After ten minutes, the machine finally was completely powerless. Even if somepony wanted to restart it, there was no way to. The Doctor, proud of himself, trotted back to the Tardis, wondering what adventures the next day would bring them. Author's Note Hey gang, sorry this took long again. I promise the next and last chapter will be out next Friday. I’ll also do a quick rap up for this story when it comes out. The Doctor and DerpyThe Doctor was working on one fixing up his Tardis; this was hard, however, because he had to hold the wrench in his mouth. He pulled the wrench up and down to get the bolt into the machine. He looked to the table across the room that held his sonic screwdriver. Feeling stupid, he put the wrench down next to the sonic and picked it up. He used the sonic screwdriver to easily make the rest of the bolts go into his machine just right. “I really need to remember what the sonic screwdriver can do,” the Doctor said in his British accent, partly laughing. “Well, either way, now the Tardis should be fixed! It’s nice to have you back old friend.” The doctor pats the Tardis with his hoof. “I suppose we should test out the time traveling powers. But where should this voyage take us?” The doctor pondered this question for a minute. He decided to get some fresh air. He saw Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. “Please Twilight!” Rainbow begged. “Can’t we just have one race?” Rainbow flew around Twilight while talking to her. “No Rainbow, I’ve got to study this new scroll Princess Celestia sent. It shows an interesting artifact from several centuries ago that granted powerful magic to the Earth ponies and Pegasi in the past.” While the idea of an ancient pony artifact that gave magic was interesting, the Doctor was, instead, drawn to the trail Rainbow Dash left behind. Whenever Rainbow Dash would fly, she would leave behind a trail of rainbows. This made the Doctor think of the Sonic Rainboom. More specifically, the first known Sonic Rainboom in Cloudsdale. He quickly went inside to plan out where he was going to go to. He knew that he couldn’t go to Cloudsdale because if he did, he would fall through. So, he considered the next best option: Canterlot. While closer to the ground, Canterlot (being on the side of a mountain) is closer Cloudsdale than most other places in Equestria, especially the Princesses' castle. Now the Doctor knew where and when he would visit, however there was something he also wanted to take with him: a companion. The first person that the doctor thought of was Roseluck, or Rose as he liked to call her, because they had wandered through several spots in Equestria. However, he then remembered that Rose was working the flower stand today. He pondered who he’d take with him. Then, an idea hit him. Though he didn’t know where she was, he knew how to contact her. The doctor went to the close by muffin stand and bought two. Before the doctor could even get to the Tardis’ door, a Pegasus practically slammed into him. The Doctor looked up and saw a mare with a bluish-gray coat, blond mane and tail, a bubble cutie-mark, and golden eyes, one of which was lazy. “Ahh, hello Mrs. Derpy,” the Doctor said. “Hey doc!” Derpy said with a contagious smile, holding onto one of the Doctor's muffins and eyeing the other. “I’m glad you made it,” the Doctor said. “I had a trip planned and I wanted to know if you were interested in going with me.” “Yeah!” Derpy exclaimed, seeming incredibly happy that the Doctor asked her. “Where are we going?” “That will be explained in due time,” the Doctor said knowingly. “First, step into my Tardis.” “isn’t that just a big box?” Derpy asked. The Doctor looked back at Derpy. “Haven’t you been in my Tardis already?” The Doctor opened the door to the blue “Police Message Box,” revealing a massive room with several corridors leading to other rooms. “It’s much bigger on the inside than the outside.” Derpy looked through the door with a sense of wonder. “Woah,” Derpy said looking into this box. She flew in, still holding the muffin. “Yes, it is quite the sight,” the Doctor said looking at Derpy. “Now, let’s discuss where we’re going.” Derpy was still looking around. “Mrs. Derpy?” “Huh?” Derpy looked around. “Oh, yeah?” “I just fully fixed the Tardis up,” the Doctor told Derpy, “so now, I should be able to use the time travel functions. At least, without blowing up... again.” “What’d you say?” Derpy asked. “Nothing,” the Doctor said, mostly ignoring Derpy’s question. “Now, the place I planned on going to was the first Sonic Rainboom.” “Woah, I remember that!” Derpy said excitedly. “Yes, now, do you have all you need before we take off on our excursion?” the Doctor asked. Derpy looked at the muffin that she grasped in her hooves. “Yes,” Derpy said. “Excellent!” the Doctor exclaimed. “Well, let me set this first.” The Doctor set down his muffin and ran over to a large control center with several buttons and levers on it. He mumbled things that Derpy couldn’t understand while pressing several buttons. “That should do it. Now one final thing.” The Doctor went up to a lever on the control station and put his hooves on it before yelling, “Allons-y!” and pulled the lever. The Lone CybermareCyberlight Glimmare could tell she couldn’t win her fight with Bon Bon, so she teleported out of the room. She knew her armor would be deactivated, but she couldn’t risk being apprehended by non-Cybermares. She ran away as fast as she could, the metal of her armor hitting the metal floor. She ran across the Cybership, not a clue as to where she was going. She was angry. Angry that ponies were destroying the Cybermares. Angry that she ran away. But chiefly, angry that she was angry. Because that means she had emotions, but Cybermares don’t have emotions. She was just a pony in a suit of metal armor. ***** Months ago, Cyberlight was a pony named Starlight Glimmer. She had a town and ruled it by making the inhabitants equal in everything, including their cutiemarks. The only one not equal was Starlight herself, for she was the one that would take the ponies’ cutiemarks away. That all ended when the Cybermares attacked. She hid her citizens in a bunker to avoid any harm. But curiosity got the better of her. She would send out ponies to gather supplies but would really just send them to get kidnapped by the Cybermares. She studied them, heard what they talked about, and after several ponies were sacrificed, she learned what their purpose was: to make all ponies equal in their power. When she learned this news, she was ecstatic. She returned to the bunker to tell the news to the rest of the ponies, only to remember that she had sent all of them to be captured by the Cybermares. She then set out to volunteer to be transformed. It was an easy process as she just needed to find a Cybermare that would take her back to transform her. In this time, she changed her name to Cyberlight Glimmare. After being taken back, Cyberlight tried to show no emotion at all while the transformation was occurring, but her annoyance often flared when another pony was struggling to get out. She didn’t want to feel emotions anymore, but she took solace that she would lose them when her transformation was complete. However, when Bon Bon, Lyra, and Moon Dancer freed them and said they were destroying the Cybermares, her hope went to fear, another thing she shouldn’t have as a Cybermare. She looked for the right moment to attack, but when she had her chance, she failed. ***** She continued running until the lights dimmed and her suit wasn’t working. The Doctor and his companions had destroyed the Cybermares. Cyberlight knew they would look for her next, being the last remaining Cybermare. So, she ducked into a nearby room. She ran up to a wall to hide, but after no one barged into the room, she gave herself a moment to look around the room. The room was full of old spell scrolls. While not illuminated due to the Cybership being off, the scrolls were stored in small square compartments. They seemed to normally be lit up and would show whatever was written on the scroll in the armor. Cyberlight looked around the scrolls before finding one that intrigued her. It was by a pony she had read about, Starswirl the Bearded. It was a spell that could change the flow of time. In short, it allowed the pony who cast it to travel through time. For a normal Cybermare, it was useless as most Cybermares stay in one place until they assimilate the whole area and then use the Cybership to travel through time. However, for Cyberlight, it gave her an idea. She punched the glass that was holding the scroll and grabbed it with her horn. She read the scroll, and her idea grew. She could go back in time and rebuild the Cybermare army, and rebuild herself, and… destroy the Doctor. The Doctor was in the next room. She could stop it all. But considering how badly she was beaten before with just two ponies, she couldn’t risk it. She took the scroll and began to read it out loud. A grey portal opened above her head. She began to float into the portal. She was going to get her revenge. She would not be a lone Cybermare for much longer. To Be Continued... Author's Note Dang it guys, I swore I’d post this last Friday but here we are! Okay, so I want to discuss some things real quick just in case anyone is wondering: 1) This is not the Doctor from Doctor Who, but rather a version of the character that exists in the pony universe. I’ve seen several interpretations that say he’s the actual Doctor, and that is not what I’m going for. 2) This story is just part one of several that I’ll put out. I have an outline of about 10 in total, but who knows if I’ll actually be able to write them all. 3) I started this story back in mid 2022. I’m glad that I’ve been able to post this story and I hope you guys liked reading it too. 4) When I was first posting these, I had several chapters already completed then I caught up with them and that’s why there’s been such a big gap in the uploads. Thank you all for your understanding. 5) I am currently working on the next story which will hopefully be up next week. Thank you all so much and I hope you all have a great day!
The Sonic RainboomOutside, the Tardis started to fade.
The Doctor was up all night pondering the impossibilities that he was in, never getting a satisfactory answer to any of his questions
To Fillydelphia!Moon Dancer, Lyra, Bon Bon, Derpy and the Doctor had all the things they thought they would need.
