To Fillydelphia!

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Moon Dancer, Lyra, Bon Bon, Derpy and the Doctor had all the things they thought they would need. They stood in front of the cave opening that led to Fillydelphia. They all looked at it and started to trot forward. Before they could leave, however, they heard another mare shouting.

“Wait for me!!!!” Trixie yelled. The magical mare was racing down the crystal caves to get to where the five were standing. She had several bags with her.

Though it took a minute, Trixie was able to catch up with them. She stood there huffing and puffing from her run.

“For a minute...... I thought you were...... leaving without me...... The great and Powerful...... Trixie.”

Moon Dancer looked uncomfortable standing there. She looked at Trixie. “Well, you see...”

Bon Bon went up to Trixie and put a hoof on her. “We need somepony to stay here and make sure cybermares don’t get in. We trust you to stay here and defend our base.”

Trixie’s eyes began to well up with tears. She put her hoof as a salute and said, “I won’t let you down!” She then ran off to go do Celestia knows what.

“Well, Allons-y!” The Doctor exclaimed. The ponies set off on their journey.

After ten hours of walking (and an hour of rest), the group saw a hatch at the top of the tunnel.

“Is that hatch in the Fillydelphia train station?” Derpy asked.

“Yep,” Moon Dancer responded. “I’ll go up to the surface to make sure no Cybermare is up there.” She pulled down a nearby ladder. The Alicorn opened the hatch and flew up to check for anything. She then flew back down and gave a nod and gestured to come up. Derpy flew up while the two Earth Ponies and Unicorn climbed up the ladder.

The town was surrounded by the darkness of the night. There wasn’t a Cybermare in sight. However, even though the coast was clear, the tension in the area was thick. At any turn, a Cybermare could jump out an alert the whole city.

When getting to the top, the Doctor looked at the other four and made a zip motion across his mouth, signaling to keep quiet. The others nodded (except for Derpy who just repeated the motion though clearly understood what it meant). The Doctor looked around before spotting an alley way and signaled the others to follow along.

The five walked through the alley with the Doctor looking down at the locator in his hooves. After five minutes of walking through the alley and following the locator, they were very close to the Cybermare base.

However, the Doctor heard the sound of metal moving up and down. He looked up to see a Cybermare in the sky. The Cybermare had, luckily, not seen them yet. As the Doctor was thinking of a way to avoid the Cybermare, Bon Bon looked around and saw a door to one of the buildings they were between. She kicked the door open and pulled Lyra in. Seeing this, the others ran in too.

They gave a sigh of relief, but it was short lived when the Cybermare landed in front of the door. Not wanting to give the Cybermare any time to call for backup, Moon Dancer charged and fired off a blast as quickly (though also quietly) as possible. After seven blasts, the Cybermare stopped moving. Whether it was knocked unconscious or killed, they didn’t know and didn’t have time to care (and Moon Dancer didn’t want to think about it).

They took a moment to catch their breath and look around where they were. They were in what looked to be a storage room. There were buckets of coat paint (paint ponies could put on their coats), what must have been hundreds of pieces of cardboard, glasses, and even what looked like headphones. In a hushed tone, Lyra said, “This must be a supply shop!” The others nodded, agreeing with Lyra.

The Doctor pulled out the locator and it appeared that the base was even closer than before.

Bon Bon and Lyra, quietly, looked around the store to see if there were any Cybermares in the store. They slowly opened the door out of the storage room and into the sales floor to peak. The room was nice, light blue walls with a green tile floor, shelves filled with what was in the storage room and counter to buy an item. The room was empty and, other than the storage room, there didn’t seem to be any other rooms.

However, none of this is what grabbed Lyra and Bon Bon’s attention. At the opposite end of the store, was a wall entirely made of glass. It stretched to the whole wall so anypony could see what was happening outside.

The first thing they noticed was a giant building. It almost looked like a futuristic factory. It was made of a harder version of the metal the Cybermare’s armor. Outside of it, they saw a swarm of Cybermares. Two of them were holding onto a red stallion who was screaming to let him go. The other Cybermares kept paroling the surrounding area.

Bon Bon and Lyra quickly closed the door without making a sound.

“Hey Doc,” Bon Bon whispered. “I think we found that base.” She pointed her hoof to the door.

He peaked outside before seeing what was outside. He stepped back and quietly closed the door again.

“I should have known it was a Cyber-Ship!” The Doctor whispered. Moon Dancer and Derpy also peaked out of the door to see the ship. They both came out with scared expressions (Bon Bon closed the door after).

“How are we gonna get in there?” Derpy asked. She was louder than the others but only by a little (so little that a pony with their ear up to the door likely wouldn’t be able to hear anything).

“Yeah,” Moon Dancer added. “With all of those Cybermares surely one of them will see us.”

The ponies all stood in silence, each thinking of a way to get past. Derpy looked around the room and saw the buckets of paint on the shelves. She scanned all of them before seeing several buckets of silver coat paint. Suddenly, Derpy had an epiphany.

“What if we covered ourselves in paint?!” Derpy asked excitedly. Though the blonde maned mare was excited, the others didn’t understand what she meant. Seeing this, she pointed her hoof at the silver paint. They all looked at her with a bewildered expression until the Doctor realized what she meant.

“Of course!” he said, trying not to yell. “We can use the things in this storage room to disguise ourselves as Cybermares!”

After having all of this spelled out to them, the others understood what Derpy meant. “Yeah!” Moon Dancer cheerfully whispered.

“I’ll do it!” Lyra said excitedly. “I’m great at making costumes!”

“It’s true,” Bon Bon said. “Before the Cybermares, Lyra would fill our apartment with costumes of book characters.”

Lyra glared at Bon Bon as the former spy held back a snicker. Lyra sighed. “I mean, she’s not wrong. Anyway, like I was saying, I’ll make the props we’ll need. You guys get the paint. We’ll need a lot of it.” After saying that, Lyra trotted off to grab some cardboard and scissors. As she did that, Moon Dancer went over to the shelf and levitated several cans of silver paint over to them with her magic.

When the cans had gotten there, Lyra had already gotten several big sheets of cardboard and had begun to cut them.

“So, what are we going to do?” Moon Dancer asked. “As good as Lyra is at making costumes, I’m sure that they won’t be fooled if they see us.”

“Yes,” the Doctor answered. “That’s why we need to stay far away from all of them. When we get inside, me and Derpy will look for the Tardis and look for some type of archive to see what we can do to power the Cyber-Ship, and Cybermares, off. Meanwhile you three look around to find any other ponies that haven't been converted yet.”

Moon Dancer and Bon Bon nod. “You’ve got it Doctor,” Bon Bon said.

After the Doctor gave the explanation, Lyra walked up to the others with 3 pairs of wings and 3 horns (though it looked like the horns were just party hats). All of them were covered in silver paint and had a subtle looking string. “I made wings and horns for everyone,” she said as she walked up to Bon Bon. She began to hand both items to the Bon Bon and the Doctor. She then turned to Moon Dancer. “I didn’t make you anything since you already have the wings and horn, being an alicorn and all.” Moon Dancer nodded.

She handed Derpy a horn who put it on immediately with a big contagious smile. “If we put these on,” Lyra started, “the Cybermares might think we’re one of them.” She levitated the buckets of silver paint and a brush over to her with her magic. “So,” she started, “who wants to be painted first?”

Bon Bon stepped up. “Will this really look like a Cybermare?” Lyra dunked her brush into the bucket and started applying the paint to Bon Bon’s coat.

“I’m sure it’ll be fine,” the unicorn said before putting a silver mane net over Bon Bon to not paint her mane as well.
