Prologue

For most ponies nowadays, the Equestrian Civil War is a thing of the past. There are few reminders of it, only the people who lived through it themselves remain. I guarantee you; you wouldn’t find it in any school books. Hay, the only book I’ve ever seen a reference to it is in some dusty old book in Twilight’s library. With the remaining record of the war getting smaller every day, I feel compelled to give my account of what I witnessed during my time as a soldier for the Princess. This is my story.

Chapter I

I guess I should begin a bit before the outbreak of the war. Back in these days, Luna and Celestia weren’t the best of sisters. Their relationship with one another was good enough to co-exist, but nothing more. Political matters increased the tensions between the two. A big one was slavery. Luna’s kingdom flourished on slavery. It depended on it. I’d say, around 75% of their land was focused on agricultural needs. Wheat, corn, potatoes, you name it. Celestia’s Kingdom wasn’t too pleased with their “work force”. Tensions became really tense after some Stallion rode into Fillyville with a small band of ponies (which happened to be his relatives) and raided the arsenal there! He had hoped to start a slave rebellion, but things didn’t quite goes as planned. Celestia’s Kingdom was largely focused on industry. Factories were popping up everywhere. Most of the ponies there were opposed to the idea of slavery. This would lead up to the outbreak of the Equestrian Civil War.
