Displaced as a Vengeful Child with a Magic Crest
The Fantastical Blossom Manor
Previous ChapterNext ChapterCelestia was not having a good day. First the weather seemed to gain a mind of it's own, causing an unscheduled storm, followed by a powerful flash of pinkish light that carried a clear message, something very powerful has just awakened, and knowing her subjects luck, it'll probably be hostile. Lifting a hoof to massage her temples, she let out a weary sigh, slumping back into her throne, desperately hoping to Faust that whatever was currently happening wouldn't escalate to the point of harming her little ponies. Knowing better than to wait for the situation to fester, she has already sent out an order to the Royal Guard to be on high alert until further notice, whilst also sending one of her grounds keepers to check on the statues in the garden, wanting to be extra sure that Discord hasn't broken free again.
As Celestia was effectively praying, Captain Shining Armour, leader of the Royal Guard, walk into the throne room and approached Celestia, prostrating himself once he reached the base of throne. "Princess, your order has been put into effect, squads of guards have been sent to watch over nearby towns while the rest prepare for potential attacks here in Canterlot." He reported firmly, nearly startling Celestia out of her skin, though she quickly recomposed herself, nodding at Shinning Armour with calm smile, "Thank you, Captain Armour, return to your duties and report to me as soon as you learn of any disturbance that may be related to the bright flash earlier." She ordered calmly, hoping that her intuition was wrong. Shinning Armour gave her a salute, before turning away and walking out of the throne room, leaving Celestia to once again dwell in her thoughts.
By Faust, Celestia hoped that her intuition about the situation was wrong, last thing she wanted was for her little ponies to suffer more from her rash actions in the past. Hopefully, with any luck, all of the statues in the Canterlot Gardens were accounted for. With a sigh, she ordered for day court to begin, hoping that helping her little ponies would help take her mind off her own worries.
The Overlay Network opened in front of a small, poorly maintained wooden hut, the small front garden filled with dead, dried up plants. Out from the Overlay Network, spilled thousands of tiny white particles, quickly coalescing into Ice Blossom and I, to which she stumbled after fully re-materialising, looking back at the Overlay Network as it closed behind us. "W-what was that?" She asked me softly, looking up at me with her curious cerulean eyes. I looked over and down at her, my hands clasped behind my back, "That, my dear Ice Blossom, was the Overlay Network, a parallel dimension that acts as a bridge between worlds and dimensions, a kind of shortcut between places." I informed her calmly, turning my attention to our surroundings with mild intrigue.
We were currently in a clearing, surrounded by birch trees, with barely a sound coming from the bushes, besides the tweeting and faint singing of birds. I took note of how there was no wind, the clouds hanging in the sky, as if they were simply cotton balls suspended from the ceiling. The whole place just seemed, artificial, orderly, stagnant...
While I admittedly admired the ponies for mastering the weather to the point of absolute control, one did tend to miss the feeling of a cool summers breeze, especially when one knew it was entirely natural. And while the bright colours of this world was pleasant and uplifting, I found myself wishing to see the more mute colours of my original world, a world that, while lacking in actual magic, more than made up for it with all those fantastical and moral teaching stories that I found lacking in this world.
With a wistful sigh, I turned my attention to the hut before us, giving it a once over with my single, properly functioning eye, before glancing over at Ice Blossom. "So, this is what you call home?", I asked her calmly, barely keeping my displeasure for her current living conditions hidden, "Y-yes sir, it's not much, but it at least protects me from the rain!" She said nervously, laughing weakly at her own attempted optimism. I made a faint noise of thinly veiled displeasure, looking once again at the poorly maintained hut, it's rotting, water soaked frame growing a verity of fungi, and looked like it could barely hold itself up for longer than a few months at best. "This simply will not do." I stated bluntly, reaching out towards the hut with my left hand, my crest once again glowing on the back of my gloved hand with that daunting pinkish-red light
In moments, a giant version of the crest appeared on the ground beneath us, taking up the entire clearing and bathing the area with a pinkish-red glow, with the hut being in the centre of it. "Do you have anything you value inside?" I asked Ice Blossom, glancing over at her. She shook her head, looking around in awe, "Perfect." I stated, making dark purple ribbons that looked like strands of DNA emerge from the giant crest. The dark purple ribbons coiled like eels around the hut, binding themselves onto every piece of wood, rotted or not, until all that could be seen of the hut was a dark purple silhouette. Then, in an instant, the entangled hut shattered into thousands of marble-sized particles of purple energy, suspended in the air by the glow of the giant crest. More particles of dark purple energy rose up from the giant crest, joining the ones from the hut, until they numbered in the billions, nearly making the sky turn purple. The particles of energy began to convene in the centre of the giant crest, the particles merging into the silhouette of something far bigger then the decaying hut that was there before, solidifying into a more tangible shape, before the outer layer of purple energy shattered off what could only be described as a second empire style house, the purple shards of energy fading into nothing as the giant crest faded away, allowing the light of the sun to once again dominate the clearing.
The house used Second Empire architecture from earth, it's red brics and rectangular windows making it look very pleasing to the eye.
(This is what I'm failing to describe, but imagine Ice Blossom's crest carved into the Keystone on the archway leading to the front doors, and switch the green in the image with a dark grey.)
I looked over at Ice Blossom, who looked amazed and exited by the house, "Welcome, Ice Blossom, to Blossom Manor, your new home." I said, feeling a little winded from that use of power, reminding myself that I still have to recover from the years trapped in stone. Ice Blossom looked at me, then at the house named after her, "I-is this place, really for me?" She asked in awe, not taking her eyes off the house. I nodded, "For you, your friends, and just about anyone you wish, provided that they don't have hostile intentions for those who reside within." I answered calmly, walking towards the front door, beckoning her to follow with a simple gesture. As we walked up the stairs of the porch, the copy of Ice Blossom's crest carved into the keystone above the archway began glowing a soft green, clearly responding to our presence, the doors slowly swinging inward, as if the house itself was welcoming us inside. Lights hanging from the ceiling slowly lit up the entrance, revealing a hardwood floor inside with a small carpet on the right side of a staircase that went up the left wall, the colouration of the light making the place look and feel inviting.
The air of the entryway felt cheerful, as if the house itself was happy to see us as we walked past the threshold of the door, the doors slowly swinging closed behind us after clearing the reach of the chiseled pieces of Ashwood. Ice Blossom looked around with glee at every speck of the entryway, letting out an exited whinny as she rushed past me and through a doorframe to the right of the small carpet. I calmly followed behind her, watching as she entered the loungeroom with a fireplace on my left and three rectangular windows on the wall to my right, allowing me to see the Birch trees of the woods surrounding the house. I looked back at the centre of the room, seeing two white cotton couches on either side of a mahogany wood coffee table and two armchairs of the same materials of the couches at the ends of the coffee table, all of which was atop a grey and white carpet, intricate patterns of Ice Blossom and my own crests, including religious symbolism from that cult that worshipped me a few hundred years ago, if only to commemorate their existence, imprinted on its surface.
I chuckled as Ice Blossom jumped onto the couch on my right, not worried about the potential mess as magic made stains a trivial concern, so long as you stayed focused at least, otherwise you'd start a fire. "I take it that you like Blossom Manor thus far?" I asked, keenly aware of how she was most likely feeling. She turned to me with a massive ear-to-ear smile, her eyes shining with utter joy and excitement, "I LOVE IT!!!" She shouted to the heavens, standing up in her hind legs and waving her forelegs up and down like a hummingbird. The house seemed to like this response, the atmosphere of the house feeling a smidge lighter as if the house's already good mood was improved further. I chuckled at the sensation, Ice Blossom's crest glowing a gentle green as she sensed the house's mood, "I think Blossom Manor approves of your choice of words." I stated cheerfully, the house groaning in agreement. Ice Blossom looked around in amazement as she literally felt what the house was saying, understanding every groan and creak just as easily as she could understand her fellow ponies, "Woah, I think I can understand what Blan is saying..." She said, making me raise an eyebrow beneath my mask. "Blan?" I inquired, walking over to her as she sat down on the same couch she had been standing on moments before. Ice Blossom looked back at me, smiling that world healing smile of hers, "Yeah, it's short for Blossom Manor." She said, to which I barely held back a wince at the house's expense for being subject to a little filly's terrible naming sense. Blossom Manor seemed to like it though, groaning in agreement with the name, causing me to shrug, "It's your house kiddo, name it however you wish." I said, patting her head. "He." She said, making me glance back at her, looking into her rather serious eyes, "Blan is a he.". I processed this for a moment, before nodding, "Alright, he's your house kiddo, name him however you wish.", this seemed to satisfy her, her smile returning.
Regardless, I decided to give Ice Blossom a tour of the lower and upper floors of the house, showing her everything from the basement down below to the princess tower at the very top, before showing her to her bedroom.
(Replace the green with a light pink and it's more or less the same room)
Her immediate reaction was to rush in and jumped on the bed, ruffling the sheets in the process. I chuckled as I watched her jump on the bed like it was a trampoline, before looking up at the ceiling and saying, "Blan, could you please make Ice Blossom and I some scrambled eggs on toast for lunch, I'm certain she's famished, though I'm no better in all honesty." I chuckled, the house creaking in acceptance of the request, the sound of movement started downstairs, likely the kitchen utensils coming to life and beginning to prepare the things necessary for a perfect lunch of scrambled eggs on toast.
Why are the utensils coming to life you ask? Because I thought it would be funny for the house to control everything its walls by animating them. I don't know where the idea came from, it just felt right.
Ice Blossom heard the commotion and looked over at me, her eyes wide, "What's that noise?", she asked, clearly wanting answers. "That my dear, is the sound of Blan bringing the kitchen utensils to life in order to make us some lunch, want to see?" I asked her calmly, to which she nodded, walking up to my side and following me downstairs...
