Solving problems

Berry and Elusive walked through the rainy town and noticed alot of ponies were giving Elusive the side eye.

“Even here? Have I been utterly ruined by the other me’s actions?” Elusive asked.

“Don’t worry about them, their just being rude,” Berry said.

As the two wandered on they saw a town square and decided to sit under the rain roof there.

“Okay, now think, where does she live, did you figure that out Berry?” Elusive asked.

“Nope!” Berry said.

Elusive sighed and looked around the town “Then how about we split up, if you find her then let me know,” Elusive said.

“You sure Lucy?” Berry asked.

“Yes, it is best we divide and conquer this situation,” Elusive said walking off to the north part of town.

“Ok,” Berry said before running off.

Elusive approached a few mares who were chatting in a convenience store.

“Pardon me ladies, I need to know where a Mrs Scarlet is,” Elusive asked politely.

“Hmm? Elusive?” The tan mare said.

“Yes, I believe-” Elusive was cut off by the beige mare.

“What are you doing back in Rain Row? Didn’t her dad tell you to stay out of this town,” The mare accused.

Elusive winced realizing he must have hurt more than Scarlet with ‘his’ actions “Erm… Yes, but I-”

“Do yourself a favor and leave Elusive, it’s for the good of both of you,” The beige mare said before they walked off.

“Well… it just gets better…” Elusive sighed.

Berry hopped through the town splashing in each puddle and humming a song about rain.

“Pardon!” Berry asked a stallion who looked up from his umbrella.

“Yes?” he replied.

“I’m looking for a mare named Scarlet, for my friend,” Berry said.

“Friend? Why?” The stallion asked.

“He’s her old flame and he wants to settle the deal with her so that they can get back together,” Berry said.

“...So many things wrong with that, sorry but I ain’t a snitch,” The pony said before walking off.

“...Weird…” Berry said before bouncing on.

Elusive got rejected by yet another pony on the whereabouts of Scarlet.

“Oh curses…. I hate this new life!” Elusive mumbled sounding upset.

“Hey,” A voice said from behind Elusive startling him.

“Huh?” Elusive turned to see a dusty rose-colored stallion.

“Elusive?” The stallion asked looking peeved.

“Ah yes, finally someone who will talk to me, I need to know where a Mrs Scarlet is-” Elusive was cut off by a fist to the face knocking him down.

“Ah!” Elusive held his face in pain and looked up at the stallion “What in the hay are you doing?!” Elusive demanded.

“You stay away from my sister you scumbag, you broke her heart and drove her off, I got half a mind to hit you again.” He threatened.

“Wh-what? Sister?” Elusive questioned.

“Yes! Don’t play dumb, or did you forget the FU you gave me when I confronted you about the cold treatment of her?” The stallion said before leaving “Last warning Elusive, what’s broken is broken, leave,” The stallion said.

Elusive looked shocked before picking himself off the ground.

“That brute! Hitting a lady…er gentleman without warning!.... But still, what I did must have been more hurtful than I thought, just what kind of stallion was I before all this?” Elusive thought before turning and leaving the area.

Berry wandered having been turned away by several locals, he didn’t let it bother him, they were probably busy!

Berry skipped his way into the next area and found a white and grey stallion reading a newspaper under a rain roof.

“Hey! Helloooo?” Berry called out.

“Hm?” The stallion grunted looking up at Berry.

“Hi, I’m looking for Scarlet! I heard she lives here?” Berry asked.

“...What do ya need with her?” The stallion ask looking a little suspicious.

“My friend Lucy is looking for her to make amends,” Berry said.

His eyes widened and he stood.

“Elusive? Where?” He asked.

“This way,” Berry said looking a little intimidated by his height.

“Take me to him,” The stallion said.

“Why?” Berry asked.

“I have a few words for him…” The stallion gruffly said.

“Ok,” Berry shrugged and led the stallion away.

Elusive sat at the train dock looking upset, turned away at every meeting and hit by a stranger… it’s as if the world is against him…

“I wish I left the castle when I could, maybe then I wouldn’t be stuck in this mess,” Elusive said.

“HEY LUCY!” Berry called and Elusive looked to see his friend approaching him with a tall older stallion.

“Berry who is this?” Elusive quietly asked.

“I dunno, but he wanted to chat with you,” Berry said.

“Very well, and how are you si-” Elusive had the wind taken out of him by a blow to the stomach and he fell back in his chair.

“Lucy!” Berry cried.

“How dare ya come back here after what you pulled, I told you to stay out of this town!” The stallion barked.

“Ugh… I wish you lot would stop hitting me! I just need to talk to her!” Elusive said but the stallion grabbed him and hoisted him up.

“Do I need to teach you another lesson?!” The stallion yelled.

“STOP!” Berry said trying to ram the stallion but he was too sturdy and he just shoved Berry away.

“Sir, please! I am sorry-” Elusive said.

“If sorry could fix broken hearts there wouldn’t be a need for therapists!” The stallion said dropping Elusive back into his seat and raising his fist again.

“Elusive!” Berry called frantically.

“DAD STOP!” A loud female voice called and the stallion paused and turned around.

Elusive weakly looked around him to see a bright red mare with an equally red mane standing there.

“Scarlet? What are you doin here?” The stallion asked.

“Dad, please just stop,” Scarlet said before walking past him and up to Elusive.

“M-Mrs Scarlet?” Elusive said.

“Did my dad and brother do this?... ugh, really Elusive, you should have just called ahead…” Scarlet helped him up and stabilized him.

“Scarlet, I-”

“Save it dad, I get he did bad things in the past but that’s no reason to go ballistic on him like that, c’mon…” Scarlet said before helping Elusive along.

“Wait for me!” Berry hopped after them..

They entered a house and she helped Elusive to a chair, after sitting him down she went to a pantry and opened it while Berry sat down as well and her father stood off to the side.

“Here,” She brought Elusive over a first aid kit.

“Scarlet I-... I am honestly confused, I figured you’d be the one to loathe me the most based on the way…I treated you,” Elusive said as she filled up an ice pack with ice.

“Oh believe me… I didn’t forget… but you came this way at long last so I have hope you have a good reason, perhaps you finally came to your senses?” She said.

‘She is so kind despite what this realities Elusive did… I can see why I liked her…’ Elusive thought “I do… I-”

“Sis, why is he here,” All attention snapped to the red stallion from before standing at the base of the stairs.

“Garnet, please, I brought him here because he finally came out of his shell,” Scarlet said.

“I want him out, I won’t forget what he said.” the one named Garnet said.

“Garnet, he was my previous coltfriend, I get to decide what happens to him.

“Previous…” Berry mouthed quietly.

“...Fine, but the moment you start crying I kick him out.” Garnet said before going over to the table and sitting as well.

“Ok, Elusive? As you were,” Scarlet said.

“Well, I understand I did and said some things I shouldn’t have-”

“Yeah,” Garnet said but Scarlet shushed him.

“-But I am not that stallion anymore,” Not a lie “And I was hoping we could start anew, all of us,” Elusive said.

“Not happening,” Garnet said.

“What?” Elusive responded.

“You expect me to forget ‘take your sorry self out of here and take that annoying leech with you’? I don’t care if you were drunk at the time, nopony says that and is just forgiven like that, eff you right back,”

Elusive flinched “I said something terrible, but I wish to make amends,” Elusive tried.

“Well forget it, she already moved on to a better stallion,” Garnet said.

“Garnet!” Scarlet said.

“What?” Elusive said and Berry looked sad as his mane deflated.

Scarlet looked sheepish but she continued “What my brother meant was… I was lonely and sad after you kicked me to the curb, so… I met another stallion and we clicked… I’m sorry Elusive…” Scarlet said.

“I…see, well Good for you then, you deserve a stallion better than me…” Elusive said.

“Thank you for understanding, b-but we can still be friends,” Scarlet said.

“I understand,” Elusive got up “I wounded your heart and another comforted you where I didn’t, all I can ask then is your forgiveness and friendship,” Elusive said.

“Thank you,” Scarlet hugged him and he hugged back, Garnet looked ready to intervene but Berry stopped him.

After separating Scarlet leaned against the counter “So what brought on this change of character Elusive? If you don’t mind me asking,” Scarlet asked.

“Let’s just say… alots changed in the past few days…” Elusive said.

“Vague as always,” Scarlet chuckled “How’s Barbara?” Scarlet asked.

“She’s fine, why do you ask?” Elusive questioned.

“She is the one who took care of you while you sequestered yourself in the boutique,” Scarlet said.

“Oh…”

“You know… she is of age now, maybe you two can hook up,” Scarlet offered.

“What? I mean no offense but she’s still a tad young isn’t she?” Elusive said.

“Just a thought, do you… want to stay for dinner? I made ravioli,” Scarlet said.

“I…Yes, that would be lovely… but I fear we must return to Ponyville now, I have much to do,” Elusive said.

“Awww…” Berry said.

“Alright, then please, come back anytime,” Scarlet said.

“Thank you,” Elusive said before gesturing for Berry to follow and he did and they left out the front door.

“You did great Lucy!” Berry cheered.

“Yes… Say, Berry?” Elusive asked.

“Yeah?” Berry responded.

“I hope you understand why I am upset with you,” Elusive said.

“Yeah…” Berry said looking sad.

“But thank you…” Elusive said.

“Why?” Berry asked.

“For helping me find her and giving me company during this excursion, I do hope things will get better from here on out,” Elusive said.

“Me too,” Berry responded.

“Now let us get home,” Elusive said as they approached the train station.

Applejack had resumed his work after his odd encounter with the mare version of Thunderlane, he had finished the fields and went on to buck some more trees.

And yet as he worked he couldn’t get the thought of that mare out of his head… it was probably concern, let’s hope she doesn’t go on to tell anypony he was about to attack her thinking she was a thief…

Just as Applejack kicked another tree and made more apples fall into the buckets, he heard hoofsteps.

He turned expecting another mare taking pictures of him without his permission again but instead he saw Butterscotch.

“Flutters? What brings you here?” Applejack asked.

“I’m Butterscotch now remember?” Butterscotch said quietly.

“Ah yeah, sorry, still gettin used to that, what can ah do ya for?” Applejack asked.

“Uhm… well… I-i… would like to…” Butterscotch began to turn red and lower his head.

“You’d like to what?” Applejack encouraged.

“...come over for dinner…” Butterscotch said quietly.

“What?” Applejack asked.

“I’d like…to come over for dinner,” Butterscotch asked.

“Ah, why didn’t ya say so? It ain’t unusual for you to come over and spend time with the family,” Applejack said.

“Well… there’s a reason…” Butterscotch said.

“Like?” Applejack asked.

“...Red Gala…” Butterscotch said quietly but Applejack still heard it.

“Ya came over ta see Red?... Butters… answer me honestly, do ya… like her?” Applejack said with surprise.

“I don’t know….” Butterscotch began to whimper.

“Hey hey, c’mere,” Applejack gave Butterscotch a hug.

“I’m so confused Applejack…” Butterscotch said.

“Ah’ll help ya, come on, it’s gettin to be that time anyways,” Applejack said leading Butterscotch inside.

Blitz waved at another pony who exited his cloud house, two mares, an earth pony and a pegasus.

“Good one today girls! Thanks for everything!” Blitz waved them off.

“Thank you Blitz!” The mares swooned before the Pegasus mare grabbed her friend and flew her to the ground.

Blitz walked back inside and took a swig of a water bottle before pouring the rest over himself to cool off.

“Whew! That was fun,” Blitz said with a smirk.

“You bet,” Blitz turned to see Soarin on the couch, as per usual in his house she was totally nude.

“Hey, so what now?” Blitz said pouring more water on himself.

“Oh don’t get me worked up again,” Soarin chuckled before laying back “Wanna cuddle?” She asked.

“Hell yeah,” Blitz said before walking over to her, climbing behind her, and wrapping her in a hug.

“Mmmmm, I could sleep like this,” Soarin said.

“Why don’t we?” Blitz asked with a kiss on her cheek.

Soarin snickered “I got practice tomorrow, and besides, you gotta think about returning in a couple weeks, your effectively using up your reserved vacations, and Spitfire will get impatient,” Soarin said.

“Good point, well can we spend the next hour like this?” He asked.

“Sounds like a plan,” Soarin said as the two laid there for a few minutes.

“Say… uh, Soarin?” Blitz asked.

“Yeah?” Soarin responded.

“Any chance we can talk eventually about the mares that seem totally crazy about me? They seem to be a little more insatiable than the normal mare,” Blitz said.

“You mean the flower trio? Don’t worry as long as their not like Petunia you’ll be okay,” Soarin said.

“Petunia?” Blitz said confusedly.

“Forgot about her? Thank goodness you asked then, she’s a crazy mare who is obsessed with you, she used to live in Ponyville but after the restraining order and legal trouble, she moved elsewhere, where too. I don’t know but the farther the better,” Soarin yawned.

“...Wow…. I uh, really was something for her huh?” Blitz asked.

“No kidding, she’d visit every day and run you ragged, not to mention she’s a gold digger, she was determined to be your only marefriend but when you began turning her away she got… crazier… just be happy you got that restraining order,” Soarin said.

“...Now I’m nervous, you sure she’s gone?” Blitz asked.

“Sure, haven’t seen her in a year,” Soarin said.

“Ok good,” Blitz said before hugging her tightly and Soarin hummed happily.

“I’ll bet she’s not even a quarter of hot as you anyways,” Blitz said.

“...You know what, I’m in the mood again, take me upstairs,” Soarin said.

“You got it,” Blitz said.
