Underground, sneak peak.

“Princess Celestia!” a panicked guard ran to the throne room, a satchel slumped over his back.

“What is it?” the Princess frowned, “Why is it so important?”

“It’s an abandoned camera three fillies found in the Everfree forest,” the guard bowed his head, “The footage was rather disturbing. But it is imperative to watch.”

A video player was brought to the throne room. The tape was inserted to the box, and a fuzzy image appeared, overlapped in static.

"My name is Shadow Fire and am, or most likely was, Sergeant of S.U.P, or Secret Universal Protection, Detachment 013,” a grey unicorn gulped, looking behind his back. A bead of sweat rolled down his head, “We were sent into the underground tunnel systems to uncover any survivors, or at the very least the remains, of Detachment 008, whom disappeared in the Beta caves. What we found was... well, in the end, it was nothing short of the deaths of about 20 of us before we escaped. We are now hiding in the Zeta cavern. The things that attacked up are... hard to describe. They are about 20 hooves tall and have no legs, just these long tails that somehow push the upper parts of their bodies into the air.”

Fire gulped, constantly glittering his eyes to his back.

"No pony can see them coming. The only way to know they’re there, is if you spot one when it's not moving. Which means only when it's dead, or when you hear the screams of your dying comrades. Once killed, the bodies dissolve, making it impossible to recover any for research,” Shadow shuddered, hooves shivering in insanity, “If any pony should find these recordings you must return and tell the princess to close the caves, any missing are to be presumed dead. Once you enter the tunnels, there is no escape. If you get stuck in the caves, remember; kill the queen. Just get to the center, and kill the queen. This has been Sergeant- What? Oh... it’s here. Well,” the sergeant sighed melancholy and placed his hoof over the camera. “Goodbye, everypony. If you come here, watch your back."

The recoding ends with the Sergeant hanging in front of the camera with a scythe shaped appendage sticking out his neck, his eyes crying any blood remaining in his head, the rest pouring out his severed neck onto the camera, making the rest nothing but red blobs and the sounds of crushing bones.

Princess Celestia sat in silence, not able to move her eyes from the blood soaked screen. The horrors of what they had dug up, deep in the caves discovered by three small fillies messing around in the Everfree forest, were beyond what she had ever guessed to be found. If these things were to reach the surface, then not even her, her sister, or even all the forces of evil currently known could stop them.

Lieutenant General Ice Wave stepped forward to turn off the screen. "That's all there is Princess. We await further orders." He left the room leaving the silence only seeing death could bring. Celestia knew that this could crumble her kingdom is left unchecked, and telling the public would only make things worse. This would call for Cover-ups on a huge scale, and so for the caves, where would they get that large of an amount of Dynamite?

Location: Canterlot Castle. Date: 15/7/2017

"Welcome my little ponies. I'm sure you are well aware of the danger the caves pose." Princess Celestia began, quieting the room of about 30 ponies all sitting around a well-polished table, each pony hoof picked by her for this task.

"The creatures we are facing, which have been named Dark Serpents, have killed nearly all personal within the caves we currently have under surveillance. We have no other choice other then to close the entrance, by blowing it sky high." Celestia chuckled on the inside a bit. She had always wanted to say that.

The table of ponies all looked at each other uncomfortably, knowing full well about the underground.

Celestia sighed, understandingly, "Most likely a few will die so if you wish to leave now then you may, but know this; if you are not there to watch somepony back, then they may die. So leave now if you want." Most of them stayed seated with the exception of two elder ponies near the back slowly trot out.

"Right now that we have who will stay, let's look at what we are up against." The projector was turned on revealing a mass of black scales flowing in the shape of a snake near the screen. "This is live video feed from one of the last cameras we have in-" Princess Celestia was cut short by a massive row of razor teeth filling the screen. Opening it's mouth revealed two scythe like blades in place of a tongue. They jerked forward cutting the footage.

"Well, that gave us a new insight." She turned to find three more ponies had left the room. That left 25 heroes’ to fight and die to keep all the little fillies and colts safe. "Now the training begins. Any questions?" The room was silent. "Good now return to your barracks. First thing tomorrow it begins."

After they all left, Celestia turned back to the static behind her. They were walking to their deaths and she knew it, but what else could she do? Without that place blown to pieces nopony was safe. This was a do or die situation.

She retired to her to office where another letter from Twilight Sparkle had arrived. Celestia had to protect this kingdom and her friends no matter what. This kind of thing had happened before and they had succeeded, even with a few thousand casualties.

This was just another secret war.

That will be buried underground with the others.

This is a sneak peak to the biggest project I have ever attempted. If you want to join the party of hero's leave your OC's name, colours, personality and weapon choice, but be warned; they may well not survive. Also I won't accept if they are just completely outrageous, and no alicorns. (Unless I decided other wise. If your OC is an alicorn just send that and an single race version of them. And no more then one OC per person.)
