Oh shit she does!Chapter 4: ChandeliersChapter 1: Holy S**t this is actually happening!Chapter 1: Holy S**t this is actually happening! **New Chaos Chapter 1: Oh, sh*t this is really happening!** The first thing you need to know about me is my name: I'm Marcus Adams, but everyone calls me Marc. Not the most original nickname I know. The second thing you need to know is that I'm a brony, and my favorite pony is Princess Celestia. I mean come on, dealing with the sun and moon for a thousand years and having to deal with Discord and run a kingdom? She deserves some love. And third: I'm a supernatural nut. Supernatural as in supernatural, not that TV show. I even have some really rare books about things like magic and spirits. As a matter of fact I was reading a book just like that when it happened. I was walking home from my high school, reading that book I mentioned before – a Guide to the Other and Otherworld – and I was passing by a field that hadn't been used in years. No one lived around this area, the ground was too unstable, and several abandoned and collapsed houses were still around. I was walking past just such a ruin when I heard a large boom. I looked up and there was a fireball falling right towards the house. I started panicking, but then I saw something before impact. The mass inside the fireball was white... and it had wings. I ran into the ruin – now consisting of even less empty frames than before – and I saw something that would change my life forever. Princess Celestia, injured and barely conscious, was in the bottom of the impact crater. On an impulse that all bronies posses I jumped into the crater to try and help. “Uh, P-Princess Celestia? Uh, what happened? Will you be okay? Oh, gods what do I do!?” I said. I was panicking, completely freaking out... then I heard the laugh. That familiar laugh, from a familiar voice. “Really Celestia? Did you truly think that you could beat me? And now with you out of the way, your precious ponies will be too disheartened to use the Elements like last time.” came the voice. I turned and he appeared. Discord, Spirit of Chaos and (according to himself) Disharmony. He laughed more and I looked around for some kind of weapon. I grabbed a broken pipe before a thought struck me. Wait, I'm trying to fight fucking DISCORD!? THE FUCK AM I THINKING!? Then I remembered the part of the book I had been reading just before this. A Spirit may be slain a variety of ways, however they will always return unless a specific ritual is performed. The Spirit's physical body must be pierced through the heart, and the following incantation recited; Disperibunt. Ego tolle tuum pallium, ut mea. The phrase translates as, 'Be undone. I take up thy mantle as my own.' As you may have guessed the ritual will pass on the Spirit's existence to the caster. The one that recites the incantation must become the new Spirit of whatever the one they slew was. It is a great burden and should not be taken lightly. Well, now I know what I have to do. I just hope it works. Discord landed, and began walking towards us. “Well, what do we have here? A new mortal to toy with.” he smirked. One more step and he was close enough. I tightened my hand on the broken pipe and lunged, piercing him right through his twisted heart. He just laughed. “HA! Did you really think that you could beat me so easily? I am Discord! Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony!” he shouted. And I shouted back. I shouted back the last words he would ever hear. “Disperibunt! Ego tolle tuum pallium, ut mea!” I yelled. His eyes widened, and then we were blasted away from each other. I looked up from my place on the ground and saw Discord convulsing, the pipe still lodged in his chest. Then he... exploded. Literally exploded, the pieces of his body turning to dust as they flew. And then a myriad of lights flew at me, pervaded my very being. In short it felt like I was having hot nails jammed into my brain while being slapped with a fish wrapped around a brick. It seemed to last a long time, but was actually only a few seconds. “Who ever said that books were useless was an idiot.” I muttered to myself. I decided to look to see if I had been changed. Same hands, feet, face, can't tell if my eyes are the same, same hair- wait. When was I wearing a hat? I checked and sure enough I was wearing a fedora that had a brim about an inch and a half wider than normal. It was black. I looked down and saw I was wearing a white button up shirt, black dress pants, and black slip-on shoes. “Change my clothes but not me. I'm fine with that.” I muttered. Then I turned and picked up the Princess. She was still conscious. “Don't worry Princess, I don't intend to harm you or your ponies. We can discuss things later, right now let's get you back to Equestria, and more importantly, to a hospital.” I said to her. She didn't reply. “Okay, how do I do this? Just... focus on where I want to go I guess.” I really need to stop muttering to myself. I did just what I had muttered, focusing on the Canterlot Gardens. There was a tingling sensation followed by a flash of light and there we were. The gardens were in ruin, and the Mane 6 and Princess Luna along with others were sitting there looking forlorn. I cleared my throat and they looked up. “I suggest getting her to a hospital.” I said, indicating the still conscious Celestia I was carrying. They gasped then ran forward. Celestia was levitated by a pair of unicorn guards, and before I knew it, they had taken her to the infirmary and had me surrounded, spears at the ready. Luna stepped forward, followed by the Mane 6. “What manner of creature art thou? And why dost thou reek of Discord's vile power?” she asked, eyes narrowing. “Well as for the first question, I'm a human. And for the second, I killed Discord.” they all gasped at the second answer. “IMPOSSIBLE!” Luna bellowed. “How couldst thou have slain our ancient foe? 'Tis not possible to slay a spirit!” “Actually it is. The only problem is... well you have to take that spirit's place. So yeah, I'm kind of stuck being the new Spirit of Chaos. Not exactly happy about it, but at least I'm not an insane Draconequus bent on casting Equestria into eternal chaos.” I said. They blinked in surprise. “Well? Aren't you going to use the Elements on me? I could care less at this point. Not like I have any reason to exist.” I said in a depressed tone. “Indeed. Use the Elements.” said Luna. The Mane 6, who were already outfitted with the Elements of Harmony, nodded and began to focus. Moments later I was engulfed by a beam of rainbow energy. Warm and tingly. Seems legit. A few moments later the beam stopped and I was still sitting there, not a statue. They all gasped. “W-what trickery is this!?” yelled Luna. “Not a clue Princess.” I said, just as surprised as them. “Well... now I can't even look forward to being a statue. Great. An eternity of being hated for something I had to do and I can't even be stone while I'm being hated.” “Why didn't the Elements work?” asked Twilight Sparkle once she had recovered. I shrugged. “Maybe because I'm not evil? Discord was evil so it imprisoned him. Nightmare Moon was evil, so it destroyed her, but didn't harm Princess Luna, who herself was not evil, despite being one with the Nightmare.” I said. “Indeed. That seems to be the only reason why the Elements did not harm thee.” said Luna. “Well. Time to wait I guess. Should I just sit here until your sister is recovered enough to pass judgment, or would you prefer if I stayed in the dungeons? Not much of a difference to me. Not like I have anywhere to go.” I said, once again in a depressed tone. “My sister's injuries were not severe. She should be healed enough within the hour. We shall wait here. And thou can tell us about thyself and the events that lead to now.” declared Luna. “Very well. I guess I should introduce myself first. I'm Marcus Adams, but everyone calls me Marc...” Chapter 2: Welcome and FriendshipNew Chaos Chapter 2:Welcome and Friendship “My parents died in a car crash. A semi hit the passenger side, took it clean off, and my dad with it. The whiplash was so severe that it caused the seat belt to break my mother's neck. I've been living with my aunt and uncle since.” I told them. I had explained before hand what cars were, so that they wouldn't have to interrupt this painful part of the past. If I stopped I would never get going again. I was fighting back the tears the memories of my parent's mangled bodies brought when I was suddenly tackled by something. Or rather, six somethings. Six furry somethings. I opened my eyes and saw the teary faces of the Mane Six hugging me. “Uh... why are you all crying? And what's with the spontaneous hugging?” I asked. “Nopony should have to lose their parents!” said Fluttershy, surprisingly without stuttering. “Yeah, plus I know what it feels like.” said Rainbow Dash. “Ah.” was my only reply. I couldn't think of anything to say so I did the only thing possible for this situation. I hugged them all back. Twilight and Fluttershy squeaked. They eventually got off of me. “Well, back to the story,” I said as I sat up. “I was a crying wreck. My parents had been my only friends my whole life, other kids didn't want anything to do with me, they thought I was weird. I finally found something that made me happy again. A TV show – umm, do you have TV here?” they nodded the affirmative. “Ah, well I found a TV show called... My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Can you guess who the six main characters were?” their eyes widened in realization. Except Pinkie, because as a fourth wall breaker she would already know. “It's us. We're the main characters aren't we?” asked Twilight. I nodded. “Before you ask, I have no idea how our worlds are connected.” I told her. “Well, do we have many fans?” asked Rarity, speaking up for the first time. “Millions actually. They do all kinds of things, write stories, make fan art, make music. You six have brightened up the lives of almost an entire world.” they began to blush and kick the ground. “As a matter of fact, pretty much every fan has a 'favorite pony'. One of you that they like more than the others. Though it can extend beyond you to other characters.” I explained. “Um, d-do you have a favorite p-pony?” asked Fluttershy, once again being shy. “Yes.” I said simply. “Who is it?” she asked. I began to blush a bit and fidget around. “Uh, well... it's ah...” I tried to think of a way to divert the conversation. There wasn't one. “It's Princess Celestia!” I got it out quickly, and looked at the ground blushing. Then I heard a voice. “Really? Well I'm flattered.” I turned around slowly and there was none other than my favorite pony, bandaged, but otherwise unharmed. And she had heard what I'd just said.... shit. I looked like a deer caught in the headlights and so I said the first intelligent thing that came to mind. “Pleasedon'tkillme!” Dammit brain! “Why in the world would I do that?” she asked, genuinely surprised. “Uh, well I thought that you would be offended and well... I'm the new Spirit of Chaos, not exactly someone that you would want around.” I said. “Why would I be offended? And I heard the whole conversation. Those best suited for power-” she said. “-Are those that do not want it.” I finished for her. She nodded with a smile. “Uh, well... If you're not going to kill me-” I started. “And we're not.” she interjected. “Then what am I supposed to do?” I finished. “Well you'll stay here at the castle of course.” said the Solar Princess. I must have heard wrong. “What?” was my reply. I'm on a role today. “You'll be staying here at the castle.” she repeated. “It's the least I could do for saving my life. And I would like to get to know you better as well.” she said with a... shy smile? The fuck? “Well, would you girls like to stay here for the next few days, until the Summer Sun Celebration?” she asked, the question now directed at the Mane Six. “Of course we'll stay Princess. We want to get to know our new friend better too.” said Twilight. “Friend?” I asked. “Yeah, friend, you seem nice and you said you never had any friends before so now you do.” she replied. “And none of you are the least bit put off about me being not only a human, but the Spirit of Chaos as well?” I asked, voice laden with disbelief. They just shook their heads in sync. “Well, if it doesn't bother any of you then okay.” I said. “Let's get inside, it's almost time to lower the sun and it's still a bit chilly out here.” said the elder of the two sisters. I noticed that Luna had been quiet the whole time. I looked and saw that she was gone. Well, things turned out a lot better than I thought. I think I might actually have a chance of surviving! As we walked Celestia showed the girls to their rooms, but did not tell me where I would be sleeping. I just kept following her. Eventually we came to a golden door with the symbol of the sun emblazoned on it. Wait, what? Is this...? “Uh, princess why are we here?” I asked. “Because you'll be staying with me.” she said with a cheery smile. And with that my brain flat lined and I blacked out. Chapter 3: She can't like me... Oh shit she does!New Chaos Chapter 3: She can't like me... Oh shit she does I started to wake up. The first thing that came back to me was my ability to feel, and I noticed that I was covered by something very soft, and that there was something warm next to me. The next sense that came back was smell, and I caught the scent of what I would describe as a summer morning in smell form. Then the hearing came back and I noticed that whatever it was next to me was breathing, so it was obviously alive. Last to come back was sight, and when I opened my eyes the memories suddenly came back. Equestria, new Spirit of Chaos, friends, staying in Canterlot, staying in Canterlot in the Royal Palace, staying in Canterlot in the Royal Palace in Princess Celestia's room!!! OH SHIT! The soft thing that was covering me was in fact the Princess's wing. And she was close to me. And by close I mean she was literally hugging me like I was a teddy bear. Dear gods this is awkward. She must be dreaming. Yeah, that's the reason she's hugging me like I'm a stuffed animal. Or she likes you. Dammit brain! Stop developing a personality parallel to mine! Too late! DAMMIT!! After completely overlooking the fact that my brain now had a separate consciousness I started to contemplate. What if she really did like me? But that's not possible... right? She knew me less than two hours, sure I saved her life and got rid of the biggest threat Equestria had seen in millennia, but still. On the other hand I was sleeping in her bed with her and she was holding my like a favorite childhood toy. Wait, how did I even get here? I remember her telling me that I would be staying in her room, then nothing. You blacked out from shock. Responded my newly independent brain. …am I in a mediocre fanfiction or something? Because that's what it's starting to seem like, what with me now having a voice in my head. Shut up. You are not allowed to break the fourth wall. Got that? Ahhh! Who are you!? Wait... you're the author aren't you. You will forget this conversation ever happened. …what was I doing? Oh, right panicking over the fact that an immortal alicorn princess may like me. Wait... it kind of makes sense. I'm the only immortal in Equestria that isn't family... that I know of anyway. Oh shit she does like me. Now the question remains: do I panic or do I just go along with it. Why not do both? That's actually a good idea. Thanks brain. No problem. After the ridiculous amount of pondering, I heard a yawn next to me. I looked over and saw that Celestia was waking up. “Uh... good morning?” I said. “Ugh... good for you maybe.” she grumbled. The Princess of the Sun doesn't like getting up early. Who would have thought? “Anyway, how are you doing? You blacked out last night.” she said, concern in her voice. Aww, she cares! Dammit! Not now brain! “I'm fine. I'm guessing that you dragged me to bed?” she nodded. “Thank you. Now could you explain why you're holding me like a teddy bear?” she blushed and looked away. POV Switch: Omniscient Author Celestia was blushing after that question. Just do what Cadence said. You can do this Celestia! She thought to herself. “I- I like you Marc...” she said. He just stared, shocked by the admittance of something that he had already managed – barely – to accept as a possibility. “You're the first one to ever protect me. The guards are just for show, mostly. And every other immortal on Equis that isn't an enemy is family. Plus you're kind of cute...” she mumbled the last part. Marc just continued staring for a moment. “I think,” he said. “That we should get to know each other a bit better first.” Celestia blinked in surprise. “Y-you like me?” she asked. “You are my favorite pony.” he answered with a sheepish grin. She grinned and pulled him into a full on hug, no words to express her happiness. “And so events have been set in motion, thanks in no small part to a certain all powerful being. Enjoy and be prepared for future awkwardness, enemies, and annoying griffin ambassadors!” Chapter 4: Chandeliers**New Chaos Chapter 4: Chandeliers** “Shit shit shit shit!” I yelled as I hung from the chandelier. How did I get on a chandelier you may ask? Well it all started with the Mane Six and Celestia decided that it would be a good time to practice my chaos magic. Not even here for a day and the Princess of the Sun is in love with me, the Mane Six want to be my friends, and most ponies in the castle alone don't know I exist. Yeah shit is going down fast. “How didst thou get up there?” came the voice of Princess Luna who had been absent since my arrival yesterday. “No idea! The girls decided that it would be a good idea to practice with my chaos magic and now I'm hanging from a chandelier for dear life!” I yelled back. “And just because I feel like going off on a tangent, where were you yesterday?” I asked. She blushed a bit. “W-we I-I uh...” she stumbled. “You were playing video games weren't you?” I asked. She looked up at me in surprise before nodding guiltily. I couldn't suppress the squee at realizing Gamer Luna was cannon. And that was what caused me to fall. I was a lot more resilient due to chaos magic, but it still hurt like a bitch. And at that moment everypony else turned up looking for me. “Are you okay? And why are you lying on the floor.” asked Twilight. “Probably because I just fell off that chandelier.” I responded, not moving. And then the universe decided in it's infinite wisdom to punish me. The chandelier chain snapped and the massive piece of aesthetic lighting landed right on top of me. Once again, it hurt like a bitch. The girls were stunned. “I can't feel my legs.” I stated matter-of-factly. That prompted some reaction out of Celestia as she levitated the chandelier off of me. I stood up. “Thank you Celestia. And Luna, if you ever want to play video games with some one, just ask me. Now, if you'll all excuse me, I will now proceed to pass out.” I bowed a bit before falling on my back and doing just that. Bad luck for you kid. Shut up brain. Who's gonna make me? Me. Really? Try it. Maybe I will. Go on I'm waiting. You know what? Fuck it. Knife. Knife-? Ack! That should keep him quiet for a while. Now where was I? Oh, right, passing out on the floor. That makes what, three times now? Four? Meh, I'll think later. An hour later in Celestia's room. I awoke to the sounds of two mares giggling. Do you know what I saw when I opened my eyes? The carpet. Not the ceiling, the carpet. I looked a bit and saw my body was pressed against the ceiling by a silvery substance. Duct tape. The giggling developed into full on laughter and I looked to find Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash yukking it up by the door. They looked at me, still laughing. “You know it's not a party until someone wakes up duct taped to the ceiling.” I said. This caused their laughter to increase to the point of near suffocation. I managed to snap my fingers, teleporting out of the tape, but I forgot about gravity. I braced for the second impact that day, but it never came. I looked only to find I was levitating. And then Twilight came in. “Oh, Marc, you're up, the- how are you doing that?” she asked, realizing I was openly defying gravity. “Well to put it in simple terms: Screw physics, I have magic.” I replied. Twilight was about to say something, before rubbing her forehead with a hoof and visibly taking a breath. “I came to see if you were up. The nobles of Canterlot heard about you. And now they want to meet you in pon-er, I mean person.” she said. “...Well shit.”

Enjoy and be prepared for future awkwardness, enemies, and annoying griffin ambassadors!”
Chapter 4: Chandeliers**New Chaos Chapter 4: Chandeliers** “Shit shit shit shit!” I yelled as I hung from the chandelier.
