Equestrian Nightsby Dinoboi20ChaptersPrologueWelcome to Freddy'sThe First Night is Always the HardestFirst Fright of Your First NightPrologueNeon Lights had recently taken up a job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, an old 80s era restaurant that was popular amongst the kids during the time. Unfortunately though, the restaurant had gotten closed down around the 1980s due some mysterious "incidents". Despite its closure, a security guard was hired to keep watch over the place during the night. For some odd reason, the restaurant was never able to keep a night guard, hence why there was almost always a job opening. For a few or just one night the night guard would clock in, but in the morning, the night guard mysteriously disappeared. This of course attracted a rumor about Freddy's: that something was lurking inside the restaurant that was causing the night guards to vanish. You're probably thinking, if there was so many disappearances connected to the place, why take a job there? In Neon's case, he just did it for the money. The job seemed like an easy way to make some cash. It was simple, he told himself. Sit in the office for a while, make sure no one gets in, and get paid. Easy as pie, right? Of course, your first job is never that easy. Neon quickly realized this as he sprinted through the dining room trying to avoid whatever was after him. Neon spotted something in the dark and quickly ducked under a table. The table itself was covered by a tablecloth filled with polka dots and several party hats on top. Neon panted heavily but slowed his breathing as the figure approached his hiding spot. The figure's feet made a loud clunking sound as it walked across the tiled floor of the pizzeria. The figure looked around. It didn't see anything and so the figure walked away. Neon breathed a sigh of relief and quickly climbed out from under the table. He made a beeline for the front entrance. $50.00 per hour, his ass! No amount of money was worth his life! He slammed against the glass doors, trying to get them to open until he remembered that he locked the doors before clocking in for the night. Neon pulled out his keys but in his panic accidently dropped them on the floor. "Shit!" Neon exclaimed. He reached down and picked them up but heard some sort of loud, clunking noise behind him. Neon shivered in fear, terrified of even seeing his assailant. Before Neon could react, it grabbed him by the throat and held the poor teenager up in the air. Neon tried to scream but no noise escaped from his mouth. In the blink of an eye, the figure snapped the teenager's neck and slowly dragged him into the shadows. Canterlot High was just your average high school. Well, kind of. You see, this school had a special group of the friends that learned here: the Rainbooms. These girls might look like normal teenagers to an average bystander but they were so much more. Thanks to Princess Twilight and the magic of friendship, these girls became the human counterparts to the Elements of Harmony in Equestria, protecting their home against Equestrian magic that leaked into their world through a portal from their world and Equestria. And right now, one of those girls was running late. Fluttershy rushed through the hallways, holding her stuff tightly to her chest. She quickly checked her watch and realized that she was going to be late. "Oh, please don't be late. Please don't be late." Fluttershy whimpered to herself. When she finally reached the door of her homeroom class, the bell rung. The young girl sighed in defeat and opened the door. "You're late, Miss Shy." Mr. Doodle said, having an unamused look on his face. "That's another strike." This prompted many of the students to quietly snicker to themselves causing Fluttershy to blush, feeling embarrassed. "I'm really sorry, Mr. Doodle." Fluttershy said. Mr. Doodle just grumbled and waved her off. Everyone kept on snickering until they were silenced by a shushing Cranky Doodle. Fluttershy sighed to herself before pulling out her work and writing down the notes on the board. As the bell rung, a flood of CHS students poured out of the front doors. Unfortunately, Fluttershy got jostled around as the students rushed out of the school. When the crowd finally calmed down, Fluttershy was finally able to get her bearings. Unlike the rest of the students who were thinking about their weekend plans, Fluttershy thought about only two things. That strike she recieved in class that morning were her second one. One more and she would get detention. She hated to get in trouble with her parents. While they were nice and understanding most of the time, they could be very strict. That just added on to her other problem: the reason she was being late. The animal shelter she was working at wasn't receiving as many donations in a while. The owners were struggling to pay for the bills and if they didn't pay by the end of the month, then the shelter would be closed down. Fluttershy absolutely loved the place and cared about all the animals that were living there. She was devastated by the news and even more so by the unknown fate of the animals that were living there. Many of her efforts to help raise money were fruitless. As she walked home, she was heartbroken over the idea of the animal shelter getting closed down. She tried coming up with a few plans but they didn't pan out in her head. It would take a miracle to raise enough money for the shelter. Out of nowhere, a piece of paper crashed into Fluttershy's face. The girl was caught off guard and fell onto the ground. When she was finally able to take a look at the paper. "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Security Guard Wanted." Fluttershy read. "$50.00 per hour from 12am to 6am." Fluttershy rubbed her chin and stood up. She shoved the paper into her pocket and kept on walking. Maybe this could help pay for the animal shelter. Welcome to Freddy'sFluttershy drove along the road until she spotted it: Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. She parked her car and walked toward the restaurant, anxiously. For some weird reason she was getting a really bad feeling from the restaurant. The area that once to appeared have been a garden was overgrown with weeds and wilting flowers. Dead vines covered the walls of the restaurant, growing all over the windows and brick walls. Fluttershy whimpered in fear but continued to walk towards the entrance. When she reached the front entrance, she looked up and saw the pizzeria's sign with all of its animal characters waving hello in a friendly manner. Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, the sign read. Where fantasy and fun come to life! Fluttershy rang the doorbell a few times until a man came and unlocked the door. "Well, you must be Ms. Shy! Welcome!" the man said, putting his hand out to shake the girl's hand. Fluttershy nervously shook the man's hand. Despite the man's reassuring smile, she felt something was off about him. "Well, come on in. I don't bite." the man joked. Fluttershy nervously chuckled and followed the man into the pizzeria. The two walked down the hall and into the dining room. The floor had a checkerboard pattern with black and white tiles. In the dining room were dozens of tables with party hats put on top of them in a straight line and covered in white fabric with small multicolored specks. "So you called about the job opening?" the man asked. "The security guard? "Um, yes." Fluttershy replied. Although the place was giving off a weird vibe, she had no other choice. "I have my resume here." "Great! I'll take that. While I go read this, why don't ya take a walk around the place? Get a feel of it." the man said. Before Fluttershy could respond, the man was already walking away to what she assumed was his office. She checked around the dining room for a bit until she decided to check out the rest of pizzeria. She walked into a section called "Arcade." This section was littered with several arcade cabinets. Unfortunately, most of them were broken. The only few that were still functioning were ones like BB's Balloon Adventure, Princess Quest, and Mangle's Quest. These games seemed be programmed to be themed around the pizzeria itself. In one corner of the arcade was a prize counter. Kids would've gone here to trade in their tickets that they won from playing games for special prizes. Most of the lowest costing prizes ranged from pencils to small erasers while the most expensive prize was a medium-sized, brown robot dog. Fluttershy checked out some of the other rooms like the kitchen which looked like any other restaurant but with a lots of pizza ovens, obviously because it was a pizzeria, the birthday room which was exclusive to boys and girls that had their birthday party here, and both boy's and girl's bathrooms. But what stood out the most was what stood on the center stage. The restaurant's main attraction: the animatronics. They stood completely motionless on the stage. The characters consisted of a brown bear with a top hat and microphone in its hand, a purple rabbit with a red bow tie and an electric guitar. She thought Rainbow Dash would really like that character since she too was a guitarist. The third character was some sort of bird, either a chicken or a duck, holding up a cupcake that looked to be an animatronic too and a bib that read, "Let's Eat!". "Amazing, aren't they?" Fluttershy promply jumped a bit, startled. "Oh, my apologies." The manager said. "Didn't mean to frighten ya." "It's okay." Fluttershy said, turning back to the main stage. "So, these must be the animatronics." "Yup, that's Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, and the main man himself; Freddy Fazbear." The manager explained. "Aren't they just adorable?" "Um, yeah, I guess." Fluttershy said. Honestly, the animatronics just looked creepy, but she kept that thought to herself as to not offend the manager. "Want me to show you something?" The manager said, excitedly. Before Fluttershy could respond, the man had already walked over to a large red button, with the words Party Time! written above it. To Fluttershy's surprise the animal characters started move around and talk. Welcome, children, to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza! I'm Freddy Fazbear and these are my two pals: Bonnie the Bunny.. Hiya! ...and Chica the Chicken. Hello there, little ones! We're so excited to celebrate this faz-tastic day! But before we start, let's all sing a little song togeth-togeth-toget... "Ah, not again!" The manager groaned. As Freddy continued to glitch out, the manager flipped a switch which caused all the animatronics to shut off immediately. "Well, that was embarrassing." The manager said, looking at the ground. "I should really hire a repairman, not that it really matters anymore." The manager then noticed a Fluttershy and awkwardly smiled at her. "Sorry about that. They've been malfunctioning a lot recently. How about we move on?" Fluttershy nodded her head and followed the man away from the stage. As she walked through the dining room, she noticed some purple curtains with stars all over them in the farside of the room. "Uh, what's that?" Fluttershy said, pointing to the curtains. "Oh, that. That's our other animatronic, Foxy." The manager said, walking over to the little area. He pulled the curtains away revealing a large, red fox animatronic. Fluttershy took notice of the eyepatch and the sharp hook on the robot's right arm, believing this animatronic must be themed after pirates. She also noticed that it looked more withered than the animatronics up on a stage. The poor robot has a huge gash in its chest and the legs of its endoskeleton were completely exposed. "What happened to him?" Fluttershy asked, feeling a bit bad for the animatronic's condition. "Oh, Foxy? Yeah, he used to perform for the kids just like the other until he kept malfunctioning so much that he had to be shut down. He was just becoming too much of a liability." The manager said, pointing to the 'Out of Order' sign. "We were hoping we could get him up running again but then the pizzeria was shut down and well, he just kinda remains here now." Despite the robot not actually being alive, Fluttershy couldn't help but feel bad for him. "Wait, if the restaurant is closed down, why do you need a night guard?" Fluttershy asked. "If you don't mind me asking." "Ah, well, I suppose I should explain that. Follow me." The manager said. Fluttershy began to follow him but felt something was off. When she turned around, she looked as if the robots looked like they were staring directly at her. She shook her head, believing it was just her fear getting the better of her. It was all in her head. Right? The First Night is Always the Hardest"This place was huge in the '80s. Every kid wanted to go here." The manager explained. Fluttershy leaned forward in order to hear what the manager was saying. The two were sitting in his office so he could tell Fluttershy the history of the Freddy Fazbear franchise. "But then...the investigations began." Fluttershy suddenly stood up. "Investigations?" "Yeah. A while back some kids went missing at one of our earlier restaurants." The manager said, somberly. "The police never found them." Fluttershy gasped at this statement. "Those poor children." The manager sighed and continued. "It was all downhill from there. There were attempts made to revitalize the brand but that incident had left its mark. No one trusted the brand anymore. This location was our last hope." When the man looked up, he was met with the saddened face of Fluttershy. "I'm so sorry." "Eh, it's alright. I mean I guess we should've seen this coming. Who would think a pizzeria infamous for murd-I mean, missing children would be a great place to host a kid's birthday party?" The manager chuckled. Fluttershy awkardly nodded her head, not really thinking the manager's joke was appropriate. Wait a minute, before he said missing, it sounded like he was going to say murd- "Anyways, enough of that sob-story. Let's get down to business." The manager said, interrupting Fluttershy's thoughts. He picked up Fluttershy's resume and put on his reading glasses. "So you're here about the night guard position. "Um, yes." Fluttershy said. "Alright. Well, you came at the right time. The previous night guard just left. Tried calling him, but well, nothing." The manager explained. "I'd be happy to take the job." Fluttershy said, smiling. "Though I am kind of afraid of the dark." The manager chuckled a little. "Well, don't worry about that too much. All you have to keep a watch on the restaurant and make sure that no one breaks in." He explained. "Piece of cake." "Doesn't sound bad. So, when can I start?" Fluttershy asked. "How does tonight sound?" 12:00 am Fluttershy pulled herself out of bed and headed downstairs. She opened up the fridge and pulled out the salad her mother had made for her. On the top of the salad container was a note. Have a great first night, sweetie! Fluttershy smiled at the note her mother wrote for her and headed for the car. After explaining to her parents about her new job and the animal shelter's predicament, her mom and dad allowed her to take up the job and were very proud of her for doing this for the animal shelter. Fluttershy stepped out of the car and headed for the front entrance. She unlocked the doors with the key the manager had given her. Once she stepped in, the pizzeria looked very different from how it looked during the day. It looked so vacant and abandoned. Fluttershy gulped as she looked around but swallowed her fear and put on a brave face as she headed down the hall. She finally reached the security office and stepped in. When she first looked at it, the office was a complete mess (most likely the trash left behind by the old security guard). She went to the lockers in the very back of the office and opened them up. The only things in there were her new security guard uniform, a few cobwebs which she left alone (she didn't want to disturb the spiders living there after all), and an old-looking rabbit toy that looked pretty withered. Perhaps Twilight would be able to fix him up. She was good with robotics after all. She put on her security uniform and sat in her chair, ready for what looked to be a long night. She noticed a red and white soda cup sitting on the desk. Fluttershy took a sniff of the drink and immediately grimaced at the smell. It was definitely not good anymore. She tossed the cup into the garbage and sighed. She took at her desk where laid a a small tablet. The tablet displayed what all the security cameras, inside and outside the building, were seeing. She slumped in her chair, bored, when suddenly the phone next to her starting to ring. She jumped, startled by the sudden noise. She finally calmed her nerves and picked up the phone. On the other end was a man, telling by his voice. Hello? Hello, hello? "Um, hi?" Uh, I wanted to record a message for you to help you get settled in for the night. This must be some sort of recording, Fluttershy thought to herself. ...So let's just focus on getting you through your first week, okay? Uh, let’s see, first there’s an introductory greeting from the company, that I’m supposed to read. Uh, it’s kind of a legal thing, you know. Um, “Welcome to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person. Upon discovering that damage or death has occurred, a missing person report will be filed within 90 days, or as soon property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced.” Blah blah blah. Wait a minute. D-Did he just say d-death? Fluttershy thought to herself. Now that might sound bad, I know. But, there’s really nothing to worry about. "Nothing to worry about?! How could you just say that so calmly?!" Fluttershy exclaimed at the phone. Uh, the animatronic characters here, do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No. If I were forced to sing those same stupid songs for twenty years and I never got a bath? I’d probably be a bit irritable at night too. So, remember, these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children and we need to show them a little respect, right? Okay. So, just be aware, the characters do tend to wander a bit. Uh, they’re left in some kind of free roaming mode at night, uh, something about their servos locking up if they get turned off for too long? "Wander?" Free roaming mode?" Fluttershy questioned. She was at a complete loss of words for what was being told to her. She immediately went to check on the security cameras. Maybe the phone guy was just playing a prank on her? A little prank for the new security guards. She clicked on CAM 1A which displayed the show stage, the very same stage she saw during the day. All the animatronic performers were right where they always were. There was Freddy, Chica, and...wait. Where'd the bunny go? Fluttershy quickly flipped through cameras, hoping to find where'd Bonnie went. Finally, she found him. When she flipped to CAM 5, the backstage, Bonnie was there, staring directly into the camera as if knowing that Fluttershy was there. Instead of the normal-looking, friendly, eyes that Bonnie wore in the daytime, they were replaced with completely black eyes with only a tiny, white pupil in the center. Author's Note Who is she? I don't know. Is she a new one? I think so. She put on the uniform. How could she? What was being shown before her was completely unnatural. Her hands shaking, the tablet dropped out of her hands. Fluttershy reached down to grab it but when she pulled up CAM 5 again, Bonnie was gone. She frantically flipped through the cameras until she found Bonnie on CAM 3, the supply closet. That's just down the hall, Fluttershy thought to herself. The poor girl tried to calm herself down but she was beginning to hyperventilate. While Fluttershy was distracted, Bonnie crept out of the supply closet and slowly walked towards the office, his rusty endoskeleton squeaking and clanking at he moved his joints. Fluttershy could feel her heart beating in her chest and her breathing getting faster and faster. Calm down, Fluttershy, calm down, she thought to herself. Breathe in and out, in and out. The girl slowly calmed herself and checked the cameras again to find where Bonnie went. Where are you now, Bonnie? Suddenly, Fluttershy heard something coming from the door to her left. It sounded like the zombies from a movie she (reluctantly) watched with Rainbow Dash one time. When she turned to look at the left door, all she saw were two glowing, white pupils staring directly at her. Her hand shaking, she slowly reached for the button labeled 'Light' and pressed it. In an instant the whole entrance was lit up, revealing Bonnie the Bunny standing there, his head twitching ever so slightly. "H̶͔̘̠̩̎̈́͌̈́-̶̝̠̳̈͝Ḧ̷͈̜̱́͒̈́͝e̸̠̣̱͉̿̈́̽y̶̦̒!̴͒͗ ̵k̶i̸-̵k̶i̷d̴s̵!̴" Bonnie said in a glitchy voice. Fluttershy screamed at the top of her lungs and slammed down on the red button labeled 'Door'. A huge metal door slammed down in front of her just before Bonnie was about to lunge at her. Fluttershy covered her face with her hands, almost on the verge of crying. She had almost died. Bonnie was inches away from her face. Her shock was suddenly interrupted by banging on the door. Despite the metal door in the way, Bonnie was determined to catch his prey. Fluttershy got out of her chair and started to back away, even closing the right door just in case. Eventually, Bonnie gave up his pursuit and stomped away. After the animatronic left, Fluttershy breathed a sigh of relief. She sat back down in her chair and stared at her tablet. Bonnie had now moved into the dining room and looked completely nonsentient. It was then that she noticed something in the corner of the tablets screen. It was a small percentage displaying how much power she had left. Shutting the door had brought her remaining power down to... 76%. Her pupils shrank as she stared at the percentage. In a few minutes, the amount of power had shrunken so fast. If I run out of power, then I'll be completely defenseless and those things will... She tried hard noy to think about what those robots would do to her. Fluttershy quickly sat up in her chair and closed her eyes. Okay, Fluttershy. It's going to be alright. Remember what Rainbow Dash told you whenever you get scared. Just breathe in and out. Fluttershy did what her mind told her to do and took in deep inhales and exhales of air. In and out. She finally calmed down and focused on the task at hand. It's gonna be alright, Fluttershy. We need to keep watch on the cameras. "Now, where are you, Bonnie?" Fluttershy asked. As Fluttershy flipped to CAM 2A, the west hall, she finally found Bonnie, a shadowy figure staring ominously down the hallway. "There you are, you giant rabbit." Fluttershy muttered. Fluttershy flipped to the backstage camera to check on the other animatronic performers. Unfortunately, Freddy was the only one there. Chica had come out to play. "Now, where's your little friend?" Fluttershy asked. Fluttershy quickly flipped to CAM 6 when she heard loud noises, similar to the clattering of pots and pans, coming from the kitchen. Fluttershy quietly giggled to herself. "I guess Chica wanted to grab a midnight snack." A few hours later... After hours of defending herself from Bonnie and Chica, Fluttershy was almost home free. "Alright, almost 6 a.m." Fluttershy said to herself, checking her watch. "Just have to survive for a few more minutes." As she continued checking her watch, she started to smell something pudrid. "What's that smell?" Fluttershy said, covering her nose. "It smells like a skunk!" As she continued smelling the air, she realized it was coming from the east hallway. To get a better view, Fluttershy turned on the light, only to reveal Chica standing there. The chicken animatronic was pressing against the glass window, staring directly at Fluttershy. She quickly pressed the door button and watched as the big, metal door slammed down. Chica continued to stare at Fluttershy, never even looking away. Fluttershy looked back at her in absolute terror but as she stared, she noticed something about Chica. Even though she was looking at the eyes of a robot, it felt more like she was looking at the eyes of one of the animals she cared for at the animal shelter. It sounded crazy. Fluttershy knew it was crazy. I mean, the phone guy (I'm not sure what his actual name is) did mention something about their servos locking up so they made it so they could walk around at night or something. Despite her doubts, as she stared at the animatronic, it felt like, somehow, there was a soul in there. The two continued to stare at each other until... It was finally 6 a.m. Fluttershy smiled as she looked at her watch. But when she looked back at the window, Chica was gone. Fluttershy opened up the right door to see where Chica had went, but she was no where to be seen. Fluttershy quickly gathered up her stuff, put her security outfit into her locker, and left the office. As she was about to leave the restaurant, she looked back at the main stage. The animatronics looked just as they did when she first applied for the job. If she hadn't been up all night defending against them, then even she wouldn't have believed they could move. Fluttershy stared at the animatronics one more time before she walked out the door and headed for her car, completely unaware that the animatronics were staring right back at her. PrologueNeon Lights had recently taken up a job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, an old 80s era restaurant that was popular amongst the kids during the time.
First Fright of Your First NightFluttershy could barely say anything.
