Alone a man walked seeing the devastation of the long war. Nothing lived here anymore, no animals, plants, nothing, only Adam. He alone survived the horrors simply because he was too hard to put down. He had always felt alone in his long life, but nothing like this. At least before he could watch what may come, but now there was nothing. However, as he sat on his knees crying and holding a green jewel close to his heart he heard one thing. Harmony will set you free. He continued crying as he slowly turned to stone. Thinking one thing, I'll always be alone in this world. Once the rock had fully formed around him a voice called out, and if there was another?

"THE NIGHT SHALL LAST FOREVER!!!" The dark alicorn screamed laughing. The young unicorn put her head down crying into her hands, but then she heard something from behind her. It was her friends from Ponyville walking up the stairs and something clicked in her head.

"You think you can destroy the elements of harmony just like that. Well, you're wrong, because the spirits of the elements of harmony are right here!" She said as her friends surrounded her. The broken crystals on the ground filled with magic and shot into the air.

"What?" The tall alicorn said as she looked around in shock.

"Applejack who reassured me when I was in doubt represents the spirit of honesty." The unicorn said as the crystals surrounded her orange earth pony friend. "Fluttershy who tamed the manticore with her compassion represents the spirit of kindness," her yellow pegasus friend being surrounded as well. "Pinkie Pie who banished fear by giggling in the face of danger represents the spirit of laughter. Rarity who calmed a sorrowful serpent with a meaningful gift represents the spirit of generosity and Rainbow Dash who did not abandon her friends for her own heart's desire represents the spirit of loyalty. The spirits of these five ponies got us through every challenge you threw at us." She continued as the crystals flew towards the pink earth pony, the white unicorn, and the blue pegasus.

"You still don't have the sixth element. The spark didn't work!" The black alicorn stated in confusion.

"But, it did, a different kind of spark. I felt it the moment I realized how happy I was to hear you, to see you. How much I cared about you. The spark ignited inside me. When I realized that you all are my friends." The purple unicorn said looking up to the shadowy alicorn. A light burst from the last sphere floating in the air and it moved over to her and her friends. "You see Nightmare Moon when those elements are ignited by the... the spark that resides in the heart of us all. It creates the sixth element, the element of magic," she finished and the sphere shot light toward all of her friends and her causing them to float up into the air and creating jeweled necklaces for all but the purple unicorn who now sported a jeweled tiara. A rainbow burst up then toward Nightmare Moon coating her in the multicolored light. The ponies in front of her had glowing eyes as the magic inside was released.

"Nooooo!" She screamed as it wrapped around her. The Ponies slowly drifted to the ground and in front of them were two alicorns. One a pristine white and standing at six foot four, and another a soft dark blue standing at five foot nine. It was explained that this was Princess Celestia and that Nightmare Moon was once her younger sister Princess Luna. However, as this ended the elements of harmony heard a single statement ring in their heads and were drawn to a marble statue of a male creature unknown to them, but what if there was another. They all stood in shock as they looked at the statue. It was in a position that looked as if it was crying and holding something to its heart.

"Princess Celestia, what is this?" The purple unicorn asked.

The Princesses walked up to the statue and Celestia looked at her student. "I am not quite certain all I know is that it is as unmarred as the day we found it my dear Twilight. Why do you ask?"

Twilight looked at her friends and they nodded knowing what she was thinking. "I don't... I don't think we're done here yet." The mares placed their hands upon the statue and the elements activated once more each beaming from the jewels to the statue. The statue began to crack as the marble fell from what was inside. Finally, as the last bit of marble fell a single tear fell from the creature within as it fell to the floor still holding something to its chest. Blood fell from its many wounds as it passed out. "Quick, I don't know what this is but it needs help now."

(POV Adam)

I slowly breathed as memories flooded my mind, eons of loneliness returning to me. Then I started to wake from my dreams a slow beeping coming from my left and I opened my eyes. I noticed that I was in a hospital room, seemingly alone. How can this be I turned myself to stone, and there was no one left besides me.

I looked around and saw a strange creature to my right sitting in a chair. It... no she was light purple and had an equine form to her, but still carried humanoid characteristics such as being bipedal and having hands. She was asleep and I saw that she had a horn as well sitting amongst her dark purple hair that sported a magenta stripe in it. She wore a light blue, short-sleeved, button-up shirt and a dark purple skirt with a seven-pointed magenta star embroidered on it. She looked somewhat young. I clutched my hands to feel that I still had the last gift I was ever given in my grip. I breathed a sigh of relief as the memory came back to me and tears fell from my face. I closed my eyes as more fell. Then I heard a shifting and a soft voice. "Why are you crying?" I looked up to see that the mare had awoken and had come closer to me.

I muttered one statement, "Very old memories of those long gone," and pulled the mare closer to me in a one-armed hug. I began bawling and she pulled me into her taking my embrace and hugging me tightly. I couldn't explain it, but I felt a connection to this mare without even knowing her name.

She began stroking my hair as I cried deeply into her shoulder and she said softly, "It'll be ok. I'll be here for you." I heard the door open and more equines came in, the sound of their hooves against the tiles giving them away. I didn't care about what I looked like and continued to cry. I felt her turn her head and push me away slightly, but I just held tighter. "Hey, it's ok. I'm not leaving I just want you to see my friends," she said just as softly as before. I nodded and let her go as I cleared the tears from my eyes.

I looked at them and saw that there was a soft yellow equine with light aqua eyes that had wings, her hair was pink, long, and wavy, as well as noticing that she sported a tail as well. I realized at this point that they had fur and manes instead of hair. She wore a green top that had a pink butterfly on it and a pair of blue leggings. She stood behind a very pink mare with a mane and tail that looked like cotton candy and light blue eyes that looked like they could see through me. She wore a light blue jean jacket over a white tank top with multicolored balloons on it and a short pink skirt. She was smiling widely at me, but I could see worry in her eyes. Next, I saw a winged mare with dark magenta eyes, blue fur, and a mane and tail that looked like a solid rainbow. She sported a black sports bra and a pair of black workout shorts. Her arms were crossed, but I could still tell that she cared. I continued looking further to find that next to her was a pristine white mare with an indigo mane and tail that was done up in a coif with dark blue eyes that showed concern. She had a horn as well and wore a short-sleeved, light-blue shirt that was almost white and a dark purple skirt that went passed her knees. Finally, I saw an orange mare with a blonde mane and tail that sported a stetson, a long-sleeved button-up shirt that was red and white plaid, over a white shirt with jeans on. Her eyes were green and showed the most honest caring I had ever seen.

"Hello," I said slowly. "I'm Adam." I continued, still clutching the gem in my hand.

"I'm Twilight Sparkle," the purple mare said, "These are my friends, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity..." She started introducing the mares to me.

However, before she finished. "And I'm Pinkie Pie!" The pink, cotton candy mare said loudly as she tackle-hugged me, squeezing me tightly, I could feel the tears from her eyes and hugged her back.

"Darling, don't you think he would need some rest before you do something like that." Rarity said.

"It's fine... I have probably rested for a very long time." I said as I squeezed her just as tightly.

She giggled and jumped back as she said, "You give great huggles Adam!" Two more mares walked in with a young drake at their side. These ones had both a horn and wings and a memory clicked in my head.

"You're alicorns, aren't you," I said looking at them. The taller one had a pastel-colored mane and tail but was pristine white with a gold embroidered white dress and a tiara. The smaller one was a dark blue color and had a lighter blue mane and tail that seemed to glow with stars. She wore a black dress with a black tiara. Both of them had manes and tails that seemed to move almost as if they were gaseous. "Not just alicorns..." I started, "But natural alicorns."

"It seems as if you know what we are, but we still have no idea what or who you are." The taller one stated a bit of confusion mixed into her tone.

I took a breath and sighed, clutching the gem once more. "I am Adam. I am one of the first humans that was ever made." I answered softly as I remembered sad moments in my long life. More tears slid down my face as I couldn't hold it back. "Probably the last one left as well..." I said softly.

"How long hast thou lived?" The darker one asked.

I looked at them and said, "I stopped counting after one hundred thousand years, though I know I have lived at least two hundred thousand." They all looked at me with big eyes and their mouths dropped open. "Now I have a question how was I freed?"

Twilight grabbed my hand and looked at me, "My friends and I freed you with the elements of harmony." They brought out the elements and my eyes grew wide as the gem I had in my hand pulsed as they suddenly blasted light toward it. It lifted into the air glowing and I feared what would happen next, gut it simply dropped back down to my hand and continued to pulse.

"What was that?!" Twilight asked loudly

I uttered one word, "Hope..."

(POV Twilight)

Adam stood up and pulled out the IV and all the machines he was connected to this gave me an idea of how tall he really was. He was just slightly shorter than Princess Celestia sitting at probably six foot one. His long black mane... no hair fell down nearly to the middle of his back, but he sported no fur or hair anywhere else that I could see and had a light tannish skin... yeah skin. His eyes were a very light blue. He looked to all of us and said, "I don't know why, but I think I am connected to you girls... no mares, sorry. Before I encased myself in that prison I heard one thing. 'Harmony will set you free.' After that when I was completely sealed I heard 'But what if there was another? I don't know wh..."

I stopped him and said, "We heard it as well." My friends nodded to this and Princess Celestia and Princess Luna both looked gobsmacked.

"What does this mean?" Princess Celestia asked.

"I think it means there may have been another element we didn't know about. The element of Hope." I answered, "But I'm not sure. Adam, I know you said that it was the last gift given to you, but do you mind if I study it a little?" I asked him

He looked unsure and took a breath, "I... I don't know... I... I just... it was given to me by my wife who died thousands of years ago... I... I just don't know..." He said looking away.

"Please, I promise I won't break it or damage it in any way and that I will give it back," I said.

"Pinky promise?" He said looking scared.

"Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye," I answered.

He giggled and said, "wasn't what I meant, but I'll trust you with it. Just... Please be careful." He handed her the gem and more lights sparked from it blasting Adam in the chest and surrounding him in a green aura as the gem flew back to him circling him quickly. He started to float and his eyes started to glow. Suddenly a light burst forth and he fell to the ground having a silver armband with the green gem embedded in it, but we also noticed that he had stubs on his back that looked like the last bits of dismembered wings. We looked on silently until he stood up shakily in the hospital gown and said... "Well, that at least gave you one answer."
